The series currently consists of two books, Tabula Rasa and Genesis, and he’s working on the third installment, Trident.

Jonathan Jarl is once again in the midst of an action packed adventure, this time in Japan. Stolen Imperial Art items, the infamous alien Spheres, super enhanced humans, familiar "evil" villains, Jonathan's new talents, and more keep the reader's attention page after page. The characters are well developed and interact in the believable way I have come to expect from Mr. Forsberg. It is an adventure that will keep the reader's attention throughout. I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion of this novel.if

Spheres fall into the Earth's atmosphere giving Jonathan Jarl time to get to the action - 4 stars
Definition: Antebellum:: existing before a war
Set in a slightly future time in which automobiles are mostly automatic and robots (androids) perform most of the work, a technologically advanced group in Japan plans to extend its influence.
People have been enhanced to have the strength of heavy machinery. Technological leaders have been focused on seizing political control. Regular citizens around the world have become dissatisfied with politicians and a significant number have stopped following traffic laws and paying taxes.
A back story is that an alien race has arrived on earth in spherical form, wounded and trying to recover by resting on the ocean floor. The sphere's attempts to assist developing sentient groups have been universally unsuccessful. While the spheres are regrouping, wars have broken out on Earth. Some humans have touched spheres and have acquired new capabilities. Jonathan Jar is one of the few people who has some sort of enhancement.
After the spheres are mostly recovered, a rift in their leadership develops - should the spheres help or hurt people.
One wealthy developer wants to touch the spheres to cure his life-threatening cancer. Jonathan's role is to clean up one mess that his company, the Amber Group, has identified -- a theft of historically important artifacts in Japan. Fantasy-enhanced fighting follows.

An excellent Jonathan Jarl book. Spheres have landed on Earth and are starting together. One such has entered Jonathan but contact on seems when he is in danger. However, Joanathan is sent on a mission to Japan to try and recapture e Japanese heirlooms that mandate whoever holds then, becomes emperor of Japan and that cannot happen so Amber Group has been asked to help. But can Jonathan fulfill his mission? Plenty of action and a susual the reader will not be bored reading.

Once again the author has created an awesome book. Jonathan once again is in the midst of solving a case. Plenty of action to keep your interest and make this another one of its finest. Don’t miss out.
