I haven't read the actual book series these short stories are based on—yet—but I still really enjoyed them, though it took me some time to understand which character was which.

This book sparked my interest because of its cover and title—fantasy and tea? Count me in!

-

I really enjoyed the atmosphere that was described in the teashop. I liked the different characters and how they all seemed to have their own stories—their personal stories are not very detailed there, as they may probably already be part of the base series.

The different stories were all very short (about five pages or so), but very funny for the most part, and gave a good insight into the world Casey Blair has created. I also liked how each tea ingredient was introduced, the description of their effects, etc.

-

There are some aspects of the stories I really liked, too, such as how consent was talked about in a chapter about creating a love potion, for instance. The teashop owners get to explain how you can't make someone love you with a potion (or there, a tea), but what can be done instead—spending a moment together and sharing experiences and feelings. I highly appreciated that.

-

I liked the main character and narrator, Miyara, but somehow in some stories I just couldn't stand her!

-

These short stories were really nice. I think you can read them as standalones if you are not planning on reading the actual series, though some things might be a little hard to get around. If you want to read the books, however, you may not want to read the short stories before, as they do contain spoilers! (Thankfully I have a super bad memory when it comes to names and things like that, so when I finally read the actual story I'll have forgotten most of the spoilers!)

"Tales From A Magical Teashop" is book 2.5 in the "Tea Princess Chronicles" by Casey Blair. It is a bunch of different short stories based on different types of tea. They use magic in some of the tea for their customers. I liked how they knew what the right tea for what customers were. I also liked how this book was broken down. It was easy for me to read between working and waiting on customers. It says it's a standalone, but I wish I had read the other books before reading this book because it referenced the books before this one. I can't wait to read more in this series.

These read more like deleted scenes than short stories, but they are fun.

There are a lot of stories in this collection. Mostly short. I would read multiple stories each time I picked up the book. It was really good for workday lunches, sitting in waiting rooms - anyplace where I might wish to have some distraction from my surroundings, but where I might be interrupted at any point. I’d read the Tea Princess Chronicles already, so had no need to worry about spoilers. If I hadn’t read the books already, the stories are grouped and designated so you can avoid spoilers if you don’t want them. To be honest, I think it would probably be okay to read this first if you wanted. Yes, you’d find out or know one or two things provided you remembered all the details you read, but mostly they are without context and/or predictable to some degree.

Good Surprises

This is not your average paranormal read! This one sails high. There's depth to these people and their situations, plus it is wrapped in the the kind of creative and original world building we readers do not often see. And the tea! No spoilers, but read this just to discover the teas!

In this collection we also glimpse the underlying meanings behind the main chatacters' choices and actions. Their interactions with each other and the shop customers are priceless, both humorous and thought provoking.

I came away uplifted & relaxed -- gifts from the talented pen of Casey Blair.

Happy reading!

This is a collection of little fluff pieces from the Tea Princess Chronicles. The stories are all just flash pieces, no more than a couple of pages long, mostly featuring adventures in the tea shop that Miyara works in. To be honest, I sort of expected the main series to involve more time spent in the actual teashop serving tea, so this scratches that itch but the pieces are very definitely fluff. It's a nice way to spend more time in the world, but you really only need to read it if you enjoy customers being put in their place (and, let's be honest, if you've ever worked in the service industry, you probably do) or being helped. Enjoyable but inessential.

This is a fun series of short stories which document the day to day life of running a business and teashop from Miyara's point of view. But of course running it with an amazing tea selection be they white, green, red, or light, but also specializing and blending each tea with magical ingredients from the Cataclysm! Adding varying effects to each blend. Thus making Talmeri's Teas and Tisanes a tourist attraction in this town sitting right on the edge of the Cataclysm.
So yeah grab this book to enjoy. And if you're in the mood for another flavor of cozy, and tea magic go try The Boba Shop litRPG by RC Joshua.

Short stories from the Tea Princess chronicles. They are a nice addition to the main series, especially if you are interested in what happens in the shop during regular, no-major-drama moments. Nothing meaty to sink your teeth into, but short bites that add to the world building of the shop. I would read at least the first book in the series because it assumes you know who the characters are, and why they are there.

I would have liked to have read stories from the perspective of some of the minor characters.

I just finished a delightful collection of short stories set in a whimsical world where tea isn’t just a drink…….it’s magic. Each story offers a glimpse into the lives of tea witches, bakers, and magical creatures, including dragons ,which is always a win in my book. Some teas summon cats, others make your breath sparkle, and every tale is infused with a sense of warmth and wonder. The author has a gift for packing depth and emotion into these short pieces, making each one feel satisfying and immersive.

Tea Tales

TeaPrincess2.5; 4.5 ⭐️

A nice display of shorts. I wanted more meat on the bones, but it did fill in some of the minor characters.

Its’ focus is largely on the tea ingredients, and their effects on the customer, but scattered throughout are slightly longer vignettes that give background information.

Yorani is always a highlight and delight; Taseino shines in the glimpses we get of him.

It’s charming, just short on details.

This book is precisely what the title says. It is a collection of bite-size stories about our favorite teashop. It's a way to see a little more of the everyday life that takes place there. That doesn't mean it's boring at all though. If you have read the Tea Princess Chronicles, then you know that life in the shop is never dull. I'd be happy if there were another of these books letting us have a visit with the characters from this series again.

These stories are delightful

Casey Blair has a talent for conveying much in a few words. I love the implications in all these evocative, very short stories. I love how Mirasa and the staff grow in compassion, self-confidence and proactiveness.

Pretty much just deleted scenes, not actual stories. (Except for the last two.) And except for the final story, it didn't really give much more insight into the characters.

I think this was less 'tales from the teashop' than 'tiny slice-of-life-vignettes from a teashop', but it was still really lovely to be back in the world of Sayorsen and getting to hang out with all the characters from the books again.

I really hope Ms. Blair writes more in this world, but in the meantime, I'm looking forward to moving onto her next series.
