Here’s a when you fall into Hell, seduce the devil. Not that the devil needs much seducing. He’s seen all the twisted, blood-soaked things I’ve done on Earth, and he’s already obsessed with me. A little too obsessed, if you ask me. I already have four mates, and they’re more than enough trouble. But when the devil—I’m calling him Dev—gives me a chance to hit my psychopath father where it hurts, and take out some of his minions, I jump at the chance. I’m not an assassin-for-hire, but if Eidolon keeps amassing power, he’ll be even more dangerous. And there’s no doubt he’ll come back for me. But with cuddly Joseph, obsessive X, dominant Arkan, and ruthless Taj by my side, what can go wrong? Everything, apparently. But at least I’m not dead…? The Candyfloss Killer is back, b*tches! Sweet Violence is a paranormal romance with psycho men, a badass FMC, twisted romance, and lots and lots of bloodlust. Demon criminals, a dark syndicate, a godlike hunter, and depraved, evil pasts fill these pages, but none of them are as deadly as Aveline Lachesi. One-click today and meet the dark kings of Orchid Vale!
Leigh Kelsey is the author of romance and reverse harem books for anyone with a soft spot for steely women and the tortured men who love them. No matter what stories she's writing - vampires or shifters or bad boys - they all share a common thread of love, heart, and action. She is the author of the Lili Kazana series, the Moonlight Inn series, the Dead Space stand alone, and the Blacktower Prison for Supernaturals series, plus many more books.
This sequel picks up right where the little cliffy leaves us and we practically jump right into spice. This book is also extremely chaotic and sometimes so much is happening that I'm just confused. But I'm loving the tension between Av & Taj and their banter. Ends on a much bigger cliffhanger but the author said book 3 should be out by April. Still entertaining I suppose so I'll probably read book 3 when it's released.
Avie is trying to navigate her new reality in Hell and of course, there quite a few surprises lurking in the shadows. This story continues to be a tad insane, but it fits me just right at the moment. I am curious to see how things shall develop.
I keep rooting for the main character but every time it come to an actual challenge she is constantly getting her butt kicked and needing to be saved! I want her to do the saving or win something big but she keeps freezing and it's frustrating because I like her. Thank goodness there is only one book left because I'm not willing to give more.
THE FUCKING CLIFFHANGER UGHHHGG. CAN I BE HAPPY FOR 5 MOTHER FUCKING SECONDS?! CAN I? I'm officially in love while simultaneously going through heartbreak. I thought my bladder was gonna pop bec I couldn't put this down. I JUST SAW THAT THE NEXT BOOK ISNT OUT?! I'm actually crying rn bec why. Oh the pain in my heartttt. Miss author, you will be in charge of my next therapy bill 🥲
Ehh. May stop and come back to this. It’s just too chaotic, there’s not enough depth, and the plot is very drawn out without new additions. It’s also annoying me that FMC is supposed to be a badass but fails to follow through when there’s a big fight scene.
As it turns out our FMC ends up in hell and now soul mated to the devil himself 😈 He sends her on missions to sate her blood thirst. However, one such mission doesn’t go too well, putting her and her mates in jeopardy. There a few twist and turns that she can’t fight her way out of 😬
EXCUSE THE FUCK ME OH HELL NO NO NO NO NO NO OH IM BIG MAD MAD NAH!
The third book better make shit better cause imma start throwing hands with words of pages and I’ll kill the fuck myself the slimy shite ooo I’m big mad
And Ark 😒😒 could do three people getting there but only one to….OOOH IMMA FUCK HIM UP TOO NOT X OH IM FUMING 😡
Im not a fan of her mates being a duo of a dad and a son tbh.
I felt a lot was happening and at the same time nothing at all.
I was really expecting Avie to finally be the baddest and powerful girly she’s meant to be but no, we only got the whining and the horniness and the scary feelings and scary dad.
Her being a killer and a psycho got my expectations waaay too high for what Im getting.
"Who needs a fairy tale?... Dark, bloody stories are much more exciting. Even better when there's kissing."
There are tons of ways to describe the experience of reading "Sweet Violence", but I'm going with this: All aboard the crazy train to cuckoo town! And I mean this is in a good way. I've been imagining explaining to my mom who prefers clean romances why I loved reading this book, but something tells me she might have me institutionalised if I did. If you loved the first book in this series and decided to keep on reading the rest of the series, you probably already have some idea about what to expect, but I can assure you you'll still be surprised.
In this second book, Aveline explores hell and I have to say: the author created an interesting view on that world in this book. Some parts of hell were to be expected, others not so much, but I enjoyed reading about all of them! Some interesting characters were introduced and the twists and turns just kept on coming.
I really loved this book, and I hightly recommend reading it! But when you think the cliffhanger in book one was bad, you won't like the ending of this one...
What a follow up to the first book!! After opening up the gate to hell Avie finds herself in a precarious situation! Yet thankfully her notorious killing sprees and sweetening of the souls with her candyfloss has garnered her another fan! And wow oh wow is Devy baby a fan fan of this fierce little killer 😍 much like her other men (except Taj) he adores Avie and is willing to do whatever to please her!! Including the opportunity to identify and seriously maim those who are seeking to remove the Devil from his throne 😆 thankfully it’s a challenge Avie looks forward to, especially when her men show up in Hell and are more than happy to have her back! Although their protective streaks go into overdrive they fully support her and are there when she needs them 🥰 which is gonna be more now that they’ve uncovered what they have about Eidolan! He’s something no one has ever seen or encountered and has the determination to bring everything crashing down and he has he is sights set on Avie 😮 need the next one now please!! *RH *PNR *FMC-POV *Monsters *Vengeance storyline *established(ish) harem (5) *soulmates *book 2/3
Aveline, the Candyfloss serial killer, found herself kidnapped and separated from Taj, Arkan, X, and Joseph, the Kings of Orchid Vale, at the end of Crazed Candy and escapes into a possible worse scenario. As the story progresses her world is shaken, life altering chances are taken, and there could be unaccountable side effects when her vengeance is reawakened. Sweet Violence stayed sassy and murdery throughout the book. Avie finds herself in quite the predicament yet again and has difficult for her decisions to make. Hopefully she gets to the point that the decisions become easier for her to make where it concerns her circle of psychos. Know that this is a dark romance and as such there is dark subject matter and/or possible triggers, so read responsibly.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
WARNING! CLIFFHANGER! This one is worse than the 5/5 from book one- and yes the cliffhangers are why it gets deducted a star!
Saved by the Devil himself, Avie finds herself in Hell- but she has some tasks to do for the Devil, and the there are her demon mates…
Ok this one is a bit traumatic to say the least, if you haven’t started… maybe wait until the third book is out? That being said, despite leaving me in tears, the book is good. Avie is an entertaining character, and her mates are too. Her dad is not so great- and we learn a little about the stuff he’s done in this one. In fact, this is not a book for the faint of heart; Avie was raised by a serial killer, and her mates are demons, so draw your own conclusions! A heart pounding second book, this is sure to leave you screaming “what?!” even as you devour it as fast as possible. This one is good for those who don’t mind monstrous doings and reverse harem.
I liked this book. I liked how her character seemed to flow like it did in the last one. I liked how she was certain they were bad guys before slicing and dicing. There was a ton more death in this book. Certain chapters, she did what she had to do but at times I felt like she lost the full picture. When her “dad” shows up, it’s like she’s a little girl again, with no rage to power her fighting with insanity. It was a bit disorientating, the fmc was built up to be this bada$$ super serial killer with more than a few screws loose but was like a toddler in the face of her dad. I wanted to scream at her to fight! To rip his head off, or his tongue so he couldn’t speak anymore. There was a few chapters where there was a pov from one of her men but mostly it was in the fmc pov. Hopefully they all make it out ok.
Sweet Violence is the second book in the Killers and Kings trilogy and picks up right at book 1's cliffhanger. I really enjoyed Aveline's crazy personality & journey. The author did a great job developing all of the characters as well as incorporating Aveline's trauma into her reactions. She is not some invincible robot of a character...she's a serial killer who was molded by serious childhood trauma. This book takes place in hell and the world building provided an interesting take on it. The footnotes are funny, they didn't pop up for me like book 1's did...I did receive this book as an ARC so it may not be an issue post release. Loved Taj's dogs and especially their names. Overall, this is an entertaining read with plenty of spice and a lot of build-up/frustration toward the end as Av tries to confront her past and save her guys.
I was so excited to be back in this world, Avie girl, you are something else, in the best way possible! I absolutely loved this follow-up to the first book, we’re all a little ‘mad’ here, and I’m loving it. After Aveline opened up the gate to hell, and explores it! I honestly loved the ‘world’ of hell that was created, it was so interesting. The fun part about fantasy world reading is that the author can be as creative as desired, and I was not disappointed at all. We got to meet a few more characters, plus the twists and turns keep on coming.
It wouldn’t be a great book with Avie and some chaos right?! This book ramps up the craziness, the protectiveness of the guys, and all the action. The cliffhanger in this book is so much worse than book 1, not cool!
This is book 2 of the Killers and Kings Series. This book continues where book 1 left off. This book had me feeling so many different emotions. Aveline definitely was going through so much in this book but continued to show she was as fierce and crazy as never before. At times I was shocked and yelling at my kindle. I will say that you should check trigger warnings before diving into this series as it is Dark. I love the dynamics between Aveline and the Kings of Orchid Vale (Taj, X, Joesph, and Arkan). Once I came across the cliffhanger, I screamed because I need to know. I can not wait for book 3 to come out. I can not wait to see what Aveline and her kings have in story next. I recommend not only this book but this series!
Ultimately, this series was not for me. Just not my style, I think.
Book 1 gets three stars because it was funny enough to make me want to read it, but I feel like I was just lacking so much depth in the plot and backstory in the following two books that they have to get 2 stars.
Our FMC is absolutely unhinged in a way that's fun for me, although in a three book series it can start to get a little dry and repetitive. I also loved the Devil, but that's nothing new for me.
I also cannot get past book 1 being released in 2022 and the clothing descriptions. I know our FMC is a little out there, but that does not excuse the crimes against fashion that take place. We're not doing galaxy leggings in 2022. We're just not. Make her quirky fashion show in a cooler way, I beg of you.
As Avie likes to think of herself: "She wasn't exactly an assassin for hire, she was a sugar-rush-fuelled serial killer who took her trauma out on unsuspecting people."
Seriously, who doesn't want to read about a FMC like that? Or about the men who are crazy obsessed with her (even if one of them tries to fight it or deny it).
Her father is causing her more pain in her life than ever before, and she's going undercover trying to find out who may be helping him in their scheme to take over the devil's throne. There's dark humor, trauma, violence... if you don't do gore, this series isn't for you. If you're reading this, you likely know that by now.
If you're a little twisted at heart, you'll love it!
Avie (Aveline FMC) brings her own brand of brilliant nuttiness into hell in this 2nd book in The Killers and Kings series. After how book 1 ended Avie is in hell (quite literally) but now the Devil (Dev) has come out to play and the playful, sexy banter he has with Avie was so bloody good!! So was her internal monologue and her conversations with The Circle - Arkan, Joseph, X & Taj had me dying laughing the whole way through this book. I couldnt help but find her bloodthirstiness funny too even though im not sure if i was suppose too? lol.
Another outstanding cliffhanger ending which left me champing at the bit for the last book now. Im loving this series so much
This book was both absolutely insane and hysterical and I loved every minute of it. I don't want to give too much away so I'm just going to say the second book in this series made me laugh, made my heart pound in fear and anxiety for these characters, and definitely had me on the edge of my seat wanting to know what happens next. That darn cliffhanger about did me in though, sheesh!! I want to know what happens so badly and I can't wait far the next book! All I know is Avie and her mates need to catch a break and bring that ahole dad of hers down. Can't wait for karma to catch up to his disturbingly sadistic a$$.
Umm….can I have more please?!?! I just finished the book and it’s not enough! I swear I’m addicted to this series, I couldn’t put it down! Seeing Av grow emotionally and form deeper connections to her mates is one of the best parts of this book, besides the spice of course!! I won’t give away any spoilers, but Leigh is an incredible storyteller that knows how to keep you guessing with all the plot twists and cliffhangers. Her series keep getting better and every time I read a new book I’m blown away by all the little details, unique characters, and the plot development. 10/10 would recommend!
In this one, we are picking up where the cliffhanger left us, so the guys are trying to find her while she's gone. But it doesn't mean much in this world once you are gone. So we're hanging out with the devil, who happens to be one of her love interests, father. She adds him to the harem, and things get cringier. We also have the guys trying to figure out how to get to her since she's now in the underworld while they are still on Earth, and the book just keeps getting more unhinged. I struggled to keep up because the story was trying to do too much overall.
Aveline claims she's some bad ass but she literally sucks at her job. She is paralyzed in fear and fails most of the time. Idk if the author knew what they were doing. Aveline's attitude sucks. Her killing skills suck. She is written as this accomplished, bad ass serial killer who is ruthless, but she honestly sucks so bad and everyone including her suffers. There is no redeeming how awful she is at her job. The author wrote a confusing and twisty Turney story that doesn't make sense. It sucks.
I like the guys and would have loved to have more of their POVs. Aveline's voice is exhausting to read in.
Tropes: Serial Killers Reverse Harem Psychos Fated Mates Enemies to Lovers Bad@ss Killer FMC Demons/Fantasy
Book 2 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 🎤🎤🎤🎤 🌶️🌶️
Now this one was more action packed! What a world wind. So she goes to he🏒🏒 like the real live place. So just making sure you are aware. She helps the devil from people trying to take his crown so he’s trying to keep it. I’m not going to say anymore because I’m scared of spoilers but I’m definitely going on to the next one right now. I’m hooked!
𝙎𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙩 𝙑𝙞𝙤𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 sucked me in page one. It starts off right where 𝘾𝙧𝙖𝙯𝙚𝙙 𝘾𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙮 left us.
Avie is a fierce, feisty and crazy FMC and I might be slightly obsessed. I loved her internal monologue and witty banter. This book will take you on an intense ride with twists and turns and some delicious spice. And an epic cliffhanger that will have you begging for the next book. 10/10 would recommend this crazy ride with Avie and her men!!
I like this book more than the first one. The world building and in combat scenes were absolutely outstanding. He gave the FL a lot more character than just got in sex and I enjoy that in a character. The MLs where are my absolute favourite but the cliffhanger left me wanting to scratch my eyes out. The spicy scenes were darn sure spicy and I am excited to finish the series. 7/10🍀
They find out that her Dad is the one they need to kill. Even though she originally killed him on Earth, they are now all in Hell and her Dad seems to be super powerful. The Devil tasks her with trying to infiltrate a group of demons who want to destroy the Devil. She takes a part of the Devil's soul to look more like a demon, so she can pretend to want the Devil dead.
