James is thrust into the superhero world when he teams up with a mysterious being who offers him all the power he could ever want. However, he will soon realize that nothing is as it seems and everyone has a secret.
This is a really quick read, around 200 pages and fast paced right from the start. This would be a great book for anyone who loves comics and superheros.
James has lived his life as an average guy, which really sucks in a world with high powered heroes. To make it worse, his brother is one of the most powerful heroes on the planet.
Through a union with a mysterious being, James gains powers of his own. We watch his powers grow throughout the story. The peripheral characters are are quirky and have really cool abilities of their own.
The story around how monsters are created and how heroes get their powers is really interesting.
Anyone who has ever read comics before will know the ending is left wide open for a sequel, or a prequel. If that happens, I'll definitely read it.
