Catherine Langston is a cowgirl through and through. She loves ranch life and she loves working there. But after some time in the city, she’s seeing there’s value to a wider wardrobe, a stylish hairdo, and expertly applied make up. Now if Shane, the guy she’d been crushing on since she was a teenager, would notice it might be worth the effort.

Shane Bolton is the last of his siblings to be unattached. Everyone knows it’s his turn and he’s kind of on the hot seat. But he’s not interested in marrying any girl who doesn’t meet his very high standards.

When Cat’s parents sign over majority ownership of their ranch to Bolton Farms, Shane is chosen to run it. Cat wants to prove that they made the wrong decision. They should have turned it over to her.

She’ll choose to work with Shane, but working so closely with him could bring out a rivalry that will ruin their relationship. But will he see the value in Cat that he’s managed to overlook until now?

Dating Her Crush is the fourth title in the Billionaire Ranchers Second Generation series and finally, we’ll get Shane and Cat’s story. These two have practically grown up together as they live on ranches that border each other. Plus Cat has been Shane’s sister’s friend for most of that time. Cat has had a crush on Shane for years, but he’s never really noticed her as more than his sister’s friend until recently. When Cat returns from a visit to New York with a new hairstyle and a more confident attitude well, let’s just say that Shane sat up and took notice. That new interest might have played out differently for them both if it had been allowed to grow naturally – but, life rarely allows things to just fall into place, especially in a romantic way. Cat’s parents are about to change everything for their daughter when they make the decision to move back East to be with her dying grandfather… and give control of their ranch to Shane, not to their daughter, Catherine. Yeah, talk about a monkey wrench!

While I’ve always liked Shane throughout this series, he is certainly more than a bit arrogant and entitled. I understood his frustration when his sister returned and the control of their ranch was given over to her not Shane… but that fact has played heavily in his every waking moment since and turned what may have been a nice guy into someone with a huge chip on his shoulder. And it shows in Dating Her Crush.

We’ve met Cat before as well, and her puppy love for her neighbor has never been hidden from sight – if one actually opens his eyes to see it. Now she’s a young woman who is being set aside by her parents who don’t believe she’s capable of handling their family ranch on her own but must have the help (or the threat) of Shane at her side. I felt for Cat in so many ways, but what always amazed me in their story was that Shane just didn’t get that he and her parents are doing the exact same thing that happened to him… but he’s okay with it, gleeful about it in many ways as he gets to run “his own” ranch now his way, often forgetting that it’s Cat’s ranch as well.

Dating Her Crush is a well-written, emotional romance that kept me flipping pages. It’s full of well, resentment at times, coming to a place where one finally decides to choose their own path in life not what others expect, with a few twists and misunderstandings before Cat and Shane will figure out their true feelings for each other. I always love seeing that “light bulb” moment when characters really begin to see their actions through someone else’s eyes… and change because of that knowledge. If you love an emotional romance with deep-seated issues, a couple that you’ll be cheering on, and a family that is certainly realistic, then this story is perfect for you.

Shane Bolton had been friends with Catherine Langston for years for a couple of very good reasons, one they lived next door to each other, and the other she was his sister, Britta's bestfriend. He just never saw her as more than a friend until, Britta's wedding reception even though Cat had crushed on him for years. She had recently returned from visiting her grandparents in New York for a month coming home with more confidence in herself, a new wardrobe, and haircut. He almost did not know who she was, when he bumped into her. A few days later her father, Ty came to see him offering a deal on the Horseshoe Ranch as they were planning to move to New York, since his father health was failing. Shane was worried about Cat, because he thought she should get the ranch, but Ty did not want her tied down with it. When they all met to discuss everything with Cat, she was totally blindsided by the whole deal. She stayed at the ranch with Shane being co-owners, and her father was to help them transition, but he got a call the first day that he was needed in New York. Cat was in no way ready to be left at night on the ranch by herself so Shane started staying with her, but she missed her family terribly. She loved the ranch and Texas, but she had such separation anxiety from her parents. Shane did everything to convince her, he loved her, but she refused to believe him, because she was a fake. She did not know who she was any more. She had faced to many traumatic changes in such a short period of time, she had practically had an emotional breakdown. Enjoy this beautifully written story of Cat finding herself and Shane's refusal to leave her side no matter what she says to him. A complete five star read.

I have really enjoyed every book in this series. I love that the characters are the second generation from the Billionaire Ranchers series. This story is about the Bolton's son Shane and the Langston's daughter Catherine. They have known each other forever as their ranches are next to each other. Catherine is the friend of Britta Bolton and she has had a crush on Shane for a long time. Unfortunately he has never noticed her until she comes back from a trip to NY with a new haircut , makeup and a totally new confidence.

Shane Bolton has seen each of his siblings find their match but he hasn't found someone that he could see himself hitched to until Catherine comes back from NY. He cannot get over the change in her but before he can ask her on a date- her parents want him to take over their ranch. They need to return to NY to take care of Catherine's ailing grandfather. They don't want Catherine to carry the heavy load of taking over the ranch so they offer Shane half the ownership.
When Catherine decides she wants to stay on the ranch- she receives the other half ownership. Now Catherine and Shane will have to work together to keep the ranch going.

Will their new work partnership lead to something more?

This was a wonderful conclusion to the series and I really liked that the epilogue gave a hint of what's coming next in a new upcoming series about the Bolton cousins.

While this is a part of a series, you don't have to read the prior ones to fully understand and enjoy this one.

This story is written in a dual POV format. That really helps me to fully understand and connect to the characters.

I have been looking forward to Shane's book for a while now. This story really makes Shane more likable in my eyes.

Catherine (Cat) has loved Shane from childhood. Shane never saw Cat that way until she returns from New York a different person. Gone is the cowgirl replaced by a chic young woman. Cat and Shane's sister, Britta, come up with a plan to win Shane's heart. Cat's parents decide to leave the ranch when her grandfather's health further rapidly declines. They decide to sell the majority share to Shane. Cat is thrown into turmoil. There is so much going on in Cat's life and emotions that she breaks a little.

Can or will Shane stand with Cat as she goes through her crisis? Is his attraction to Cat based on her new looks and personality?

This is a sweet, clean romance with just some kissing involved.

Catherine has had a crush on Shane since she was a teenager and spent time at the bolton ranch with his sister's.Britta Shan's sister is her best friend and knows about her crush and wants to help her.
When Catherine's parents want to sell the majority of the ranch to Shane's family and want Shane to run it she is not happy and thinks her parent's don't trust her to run it.They end up working together.
Will competing with each other ruin Catherine's chances in winning over Shane's heart and will Shane see what is right in front of his nose or will he push her away?
A sweet heartwarming cowboy romance with the characters we have come to know and love and Catherine and Shane finally getting their happily ever after🥰.

Shane only starts to notice his sister’s best friend Catherine romantically when her parents ask him to partner with her to run her family’s ranch. Shane has experience and is cocky about it, but Catherine shows him up with her knowledge too. She’s a bit all over the place trying to attract his attention and then thinking that he only likes her confident side even though he shows how much he cares when she falls apart. She pulls him in and then pushes him away and shuts him out, which adds to the drama but also my exasperation at times with her. Shane wasn’t angel but he shows his love and support repeatedly if only she can accept it.

Catherine and Shane . . .

Shane Bolton is on the arrogant side and when Catherine Langston’s parents sign over majority ownership of the ranch to Bolton Farms and choose Shane to run it, Catherine gets upset that they didn’t choose her. She is every bit a cowgirl and feels she could have handled it well.

Catherine has loved Shane for a long time, but with his rigid standards, he has not made a move in her direction. Now she will work with Shane, but she is good at what she does and the two of them may have a rivalry going on. Will the two of them notice the good points about each other and maybe start a real relationship? Or will they keep pushing each other way?

Catherine and Shane both made choices that lead to the death of relationships by suicide. His sister was instrumental in that happening with her meddling and she honestly got on my nerves with her faulty advice. I didn't read her story but maybe I should just to go back and see what trouble she caused in her own relationship. This one pulled at the heartstrings a little with the tragedy that struck but also had parts that made me laugh. Tale of being aware of who you let in your business and how far to allow their advice to rule your way of thinking.

This was a really fun book to read because of the storyline and the characters. I liked how Shane's sister, Britta, got into the mix by adding her romantic advice to the pot. Shane and Catherine ended up being partners together on Horseshoe Ranch in Texas when her parents decided to move to New York. I found it interesting that Catherine has had a crush on Shane since she was little and his feelings were changing towards her. I found that to be an interesting recipe for love. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

Catherine and Shane are delightful together. I love how he knows her and supports her even when she is self-destructing with the overwhelming changes she has had recently. You really feel emotionally involved with these characters and want them to succeed even when the helpful advice they are given by others is not so helpful or accurate. This is a great series and I really liked this story.

Really Great Series

I'm really enjoying this series and getting to know all the characters. I had been waiting for Shane and Catherine to get their story and it didn't disappoint. She had loved him for years but it took him a little longer to figure it out. She had a lot of things happen at once that caused strife in her life. Can Catherine get past all these to accept Shane's love. A captivating read.

I enjoyed reading this story. Shane and Catherine are thrust together when her father decides to sell half the ranch. Catherine has always loved Shane, but it is only now that he he realizes his attraction and falls in love with her. Catherine is struggling with so many different issues. This couple has a rough road ahead of them.

Dating Her Crush is a clean, heartwarming, small town romance. Cat has crushed on Shane forever. Shane only began to notice Cat when she returned from New York. In this well written book, this couple has more than the usual amount of trouble as they try to run Cat's ranch as equal partners. Shane needed to learn patience and Cat needed to find herself. I enjoyed their journey through the drama to an HEA.

Neighbors realize their attraction. Life doesn't always go as planned. Neither of these individuals got what they thought they deserved. Eventually they do get to their happily ever after. Enjoyable to watch their growth and interactions. Sweet, clean romance. Thanks to Booksprout for providing a copy. My review is voluntary.

Loved this story by April Murdock. It might seem like both Catherine and Shane were tricked and betrayed by Catherine’s parents but I have to wonder if they were more devious that we might have realized. I have enjoyed this series.

Awesome Book!

I really liked this story. I wasn’t sure the main character would get over her ridiculousness in time. It almost became too frustrating to continue.

I don’t like the lack of a concise ending. The reader is left hanging.

I really enjoyed this take on the boy next door childhood crush. I enjoyed seeing Cat grow up through her circumstances and become her full self. I enjoyed the various aspects of taking over the ranch and the understanding he had of her position.

So Much Drama

I am a person that does not tolerate drama well so even though this is a well written story I found it difficult to read.
