An intriguing idea with a perplexing narrative. I had such a hard time following along with this and the style of writing definitely wasn’t my favourite. As well as being confusing it was also very prosey and the flow at times just felt off and somewhat jarring. The idea itself was actually excellent but the execution not so much. I persevered with this mostly due to curiosity.

So the two main characters here were all over the place in their behaviours and reactions. Moyà personality was extremely abrasive aggressive and erratic. She didn’t seem to know if she wanted to run or stay one minute she’d be all up in Voli’s face giving him major attitude and then one stern word from him and she’d then be backing right down she didn’t come across as a very likeable person at all. whilst Voli well I just didn’t really know what to make of him. I think he was meant to initially appear mysterious but he just came across as a lot weird and a definite Neanderthal. The romantic development and ensued connection also felt off and I was just so bewildered by them both. Also, I found the secondary characters here just didn’t feel developed and they really were integral to plot development.

This really isn’t the easiest book to follow and I felt like I was missing a lot of vital information. Chapters and events seemed to change almost abruptly with little prior warning and the continuity is missing it all felt very jarring managing to then throw me completely out of the story and then that finish just seemed so abrupt.

Though I struggled this does get points for originality it’s certainly unique. My main issue is I am still very confused over a lot of things. It’s a shame because the initial idea is excellent. This one is single POV Moyà’s genre-wise it’s kind of a paranormal romance but It isn’t a dark one.

So... where to begin.

I think the story is pretty straightforward, a little linear in nature. HOWEVER, it's hard to follow. I sort of understand the direction of the story but it felt like we were missing chapters at the beginning. Like one chapter she's with one person at the end of the chapter and in the next one she wakes up in the house with the sheriff.

With that being said. I actually enjoyed the story once I got less confused about how it all it worked out. The side characters are super unimportant, like so unimportant they sort of don't need to be talked about. But I guess you can't really write a book about just the main characters.

Rowena(Moya), is a nurse who heads into a town as a traveling nurse. She doesn't quite know what to expect when she gets there but she's definitely not looking for the town's sheriff to take up an interest in her. She's a little bit of a conundrum, one minute she's settling in the next minute it seems her mind gets the better of her and she's ready to escape again.

Voli is a big grump of a man. It's clear he really loves/cares for Moya but he handles things in a sort of messy way. There's a little bit of confusion about halfway through the book when it comes to his relationships with certain other people. And then he sort of comes off as a bad person a little bit after that but overall it seems he's at least trying to get his life in a manner that he's comfortable with.

Overall, it's an interesting concept. I don't think I've read a book with this style of storyline before and I really would be excited to see more of it. The writing style is beautiful if you can get around the missing important features to the story line and some of the missing transition chapters.

This story started out really confusing. I kept getting lost and thinking I missed something, but by the end it all made sense.

Moya is an immortal who doesn't know who she is as she died and was reborn. Once Voli finds her, he can't tell her too quickly who she is but finally gets to claim her as his in the "old ways" of his people. Once Moya remembers her past lives, she also remembers her past anger at Voli.

This story is really good and was just making sense and I was wanting more of the fight for her life and then it ended. I can't wait until the next book comes out!

Moya is a traveling nurse, unknown to her an immortal who lives again and again. Voli has to tred carefully when around Moya, but he knows shes his, and he's waited enough. An engaging read that dives in deep and holds your attention.

The idea had promise but there were so many chapters that ended with Row mad or planning an escape only to have her do a total 180 on the next page. I struggled to get threw it until her memories returned and I thought this book might be worth the read but the last few chapters was another 180.

Excerpt-
When the vehicle stopped behind us, I froze. The entire world stood still, and the hoot owl who called out to us only a moment ago in the distance was quiet now. Not even what was left of the last summer crickets on the little pond out back dared to breathe.

And when the door opened behind me, terror washed over Erin’s face as whatever waited by my head drew her attention.

Though I commanded my feet to move in any direction at all to run away, they stayed planted in the gravel as the leather-gloved hand covered my mouth and an unfamiliar voice blew across my ear. “Nice evening for a stroll in the moonlight, isn’t it, ladies?”
