What secrets have the Primals kept hidden since time began?
Nurilm resides within a decaying temple. One day, she chances upon forbidden knowledge about an enigmatic entity called the ‘Collector’, and an unthinkable battle waged long ago in which the Primals were united.

March 14, 2022I was not going to review this because I did not finish it; made it about 30%. All it has is great reviews at the time I am writing this. A reader like me would rather know there are some things they may not love about this book. Thus this.
This was my first and last exposure to the Wanderer universe. Said universe appears to be populated with an uncounted number of Creatite types. Another review said they are like kinds of bees, all bred for specialized functions. They could as well be fairies, elves, pixies, ants, spiders, or squids (well, not squids). Just know there is a multitude of types. The part of the book I read kept introducing more and more of them. This I did not enjoy.
The point of view characters count three, no more, no less. Other reviews tell that their stories intertwine near the end of the book. Great. I hate that. But no bother because I got nowhere near that point.
A conspiracy is afoot involving the Primals. Since I've never heard of a Primal before, the mystery surrounding them did not pique my interest.
Tiny is the science fiction element of what I read; the story comes across as fantasy.

This was the 2nd book set in The Wanderer universe that I’ve read and like “Long Paradise” it didn’t disappoint. I’m looking forward to reading more by James Murdo

My first foray into the Wanderer's Universe and must say i really enjoyed it. It's always good to have a main race which isn't humanoid and Murdo nails it. Excitement and action from the outset and i have to read the other books in the series now. You've done it James... I'm hooked.

Wow! What an outstanding read! As you read the author exposes you to three completely (or so I thought) different story lines, until the end where I found the author interictally woven these three story lines together into one. This is a standalone novel yet a part of a series of the advanced Wanderer civilization. As you cam imagine with three separate story lines it can be confusing. The author has provided a glossary for just this reason. The author takes you along for a ride into unbefore told secrets of a entity called the Collector. The Primals are the ancient, all-powerful rulers who united in an all consuming war to luck away this knowledge and now what will happen if we come knocking on the Collectors door? I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

The breadth of space and time entwined in the story is only rivalled by the greats of science fiction i.e. Asimov, EE Doc Smith, Alistair Reynolds, Iain Banks and the like. The story itself doesn’t feel disjointed because of the vast distances and times. This is set in James Murdo’ Wanderer Universe and the ease with which story moves through it without having to explain too much is essential to how Siouca goes about exacting it’s revenge on Collector for killing its siblings.
But this is only one of the many stories. The world building inside the already created Wanderer Universe is unexpected and builds more impact through Siouca, Tallic, the Creatites and Roranian struggles for the truth and freedom.
I found this very enjoyable to read and would read more books in this Universe. I would recommend this book to anyone to read.

I have read every book in this universe and loved everyone even as I was suuuper confused for a majority of each book. Siouca Remembers is the latest and longest book in this universe, and in my opinion, the best. It is so wildly different, yet intrinsically connected to the other tales. The characters are deep and believable - even the strange, alien ones. I just can't say enough about how great this book is.
I will give the same warning here that I have given for most books in this universe: if you find yourself confused, do not give up. Press on through and things will clarify in the end. This world is deep and complicated - it's bound to raise some questions before revealing all of its truths. Hang in there. It's worth it.

I’ve read every one of James Murdo’s books and this is the best thus far in the Wanderer Universe. It is a stand-alone, but the series is high quality as well. It’s a tricky web that James Murdo weaves, he circles the fiction around the science. which is intriguing and you’ll be rewardingly challenged by it. Great world-building. I also appreciate the strong female characters, this time in Nurilm. You’ll have to read the book to figure out just who and what Siouca is and his part in the maze. Sharp writing and players in this universe game. Highly recommend!

An epic sci-fi fantasy!
The descriptions are thorough and vivid. The story is like a spiderweb...different events and views which interweave to come together in the end with a crescendo that keeps the reader riveted. As each scene moves forward, the intricate tales begin to mesh to create a final outcome that is fantastic and startling! Very well written!

I really enjoyed this book. The premise is original and well thought out. The ship’s processes and interactions are interesting and thought provoking. The backstory develops at a good pace and curiosity about that will keep one turning pages almost as much as the story does. Well done look at the evolution of galactic intelligence and civilization.

This was an intriguing storyline, and i enjoyed it. It was confusing at first and a bit bizarre. However by the end of the book was a very bought in reader. This was a great read.

Received as an audio review copy from Story Origin, this is an honest review. Siouca Remembers is another brilliant, labyrinthine journey set in James Murdo's Wanderer Universe that is narrated by The Voice of Nick, whom once again gives an immersive, dynamic performance as he brings to life a saved and protected crew, a unique and mysterious culture of ruling Primals over Creatites, where one called Tallic is gifted with skills to challenge the structure of his society and its dark secrets. A wondrous adventurous tale, highly recommended

I love this Wandrerer universe that James Murdo has created. There are three apparently separate story threads that are woven together to mesh at the end. The blurb sets the scene. No need for spoilers. Each story thread is intriguing and explores important issues of trust. The glossary at the end helps if you are a little confused.

I loved this book, Siouca Remembers. This is another wonderful stand alone story set in the Wanderer Universe of the immensely long lived, nigh immortal, machinelects and varied species of biological sentients. This is a book for those who enjoy the works of Ian M Banks. A complex and well thought out universe with interesting and diverse peoples. I was totally emotionally invested in the protagonists, who were genuine characters with depth and personality. The most irritating and negative female that i've recently encountered in fiction finally got the slap that I had been wishing for her! The three apparently disparate story threads are skilfully woven together. The final reveal is bittersweet. Even if no one else does, Siouca remembers. This is a book that stays with you after the last words are spoken.
The Voice of Nick really brings the peoples to life. His vocal interpretation of both Siouca and the Collector deserve a special mention. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. This is Science Fiction, clean and unadulterated.
I have read also Gil's World and Long Paradise and am a fan!

Complex plot development but well worth it once you wrap your brain around all 3 story lines, especially as they come together. Well written, James Murdo brought this together quite nicely. Great character development, believable characters, and the story line just keeps on moving. Highly recommended! Audio Version: Nick does a great job narrating Siouca Remembers!
