Don't let ADHD pull you down. The ADHD Neurodivergent brain has a different wiring. It does not operate in the same way as a "standard" or neurotypical brain.

Most people will see this wiring variation as incorrect or deficient. It isn't. It's just different.

"The Silent Struggle" redefines ADHD not as a defect but as a unique lens for viewing the world.

This book takes the condition out of “The Disease Zone” and back into natural neurological variation. People like Einstein, Steve Jobs, Richard Branson, and Stanley Jordan are a few examples of what you can achieve in spite or thanks to the condition.

ADHD Acceptance and knowledge are critical to a successful life.

Written by ADHD expert therapist and author of the "ADHD " series, William Ross-Child, it describes how ADHD affects every part of your life and how to overcome your daily challenges.

BO OH OH GUS. BOGUS!

Taking Charge of ADHD in Adults is Russell Barkley, PhD’s excellent book. He is leading ADHD authority.

L. William Ross-Child does not exist. Fake name. Fake credentials. Fake photo. Don’t believe me? Try to identify his existence. It’s a stock photo.

Seriously, people, why do we keep putting up with Amazon allowing these charlatans and thieves?

This is a thrown-together mishmash of articles stolen from other sources.

If you give this a favorable review, you might be a fake, too.

Call it out. Stop this garbage.

This was terrible. Don’t buy it or borrow it. Don’t waste your time. The writing is atrocious, the gendered statements (re: how men and women experience ADHD differently) are sweeping generalizations without any research to back up the statements, and honestly as a whole, this isn’t written beyond a 4th grade level or so. My first red flag was when Healthline.com was cited in the first page or so. Like… yeah no. Okay then. And his publisher’s email address is hosted at Gmail. Also a massive red flag of bullshit information. 0/10, if I could give it one star I would.

The only positive I can state is that it was written at a level that is accessible to basically everyone. But it was… condescendingly written so even that is not an outright positive. I could tell that this was written by a man, especially in the parts that dealt with how women experience ADHD differently from men. Ugh.

Inaccurate and dangerous

Please don’t waste money/time on this. Go with Russell Barkley for your info instead. He has multiple books written for general public (as well as clinicians). CHADD and Atitude have better info than this as well.

I have ADHD and I work in the field and I am saddened (but not shocked), that such a poorly written book is available and on weekly top charts to boot. I can’t NOT recommend it enough.

I loved this book on the subject of ADHD

As a dyslexic man I can relate to some of these symptoms of an ADHD explain in this book and ways to identify if you or you suspect that someone has ADHD.
The coaching mentoring advice are truly amazing and very helpful as well. Overall a great read of a book and throughly recommended. I definitely will read the book again soon. Best wishes Sean

Insightful!!

I was recently diagnosed with ADHD. This book not only helped me understand the diagnosis but also was like a mirror held up to me. I saw myself and my behaviors and most importantly, I began to understand why I’ve behaved that way and that it’s ok! I’m currently seeking therapy to better manage my ADHD. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has ADHD or knows someone who has ADHD.

The voice is super annoying to listen to. And I felt like this was pathologizing and focused on the negative aspects. And how many times can this guy say "rage"?! Is he just an angry dude or is that what he thinks all ADHDers are?

Thorough reading

The author touches all the aspects of ADHD. It's cause, weaknesses, strength, ways to increase dopamine, therapy and most importantly.... How to take ADHD as a blessing and not a disorder.

Helpful

My attention span has been getting worse as I transferred jobs that went from more physical to more sedentary. This book gave me some good insight on why and how to work within my ability.

A lot of helpful and sound advice.
It feels very much like the book was edited by the author, there are a good bit of simple mistakes as well as a lot of paragraphs that should have been reworked for clarity and simplicity.

Some good information but hard to get through because it was not well written or organized.

Okay, but felt like a lot of opinions based on his experience. I would have preferred footnotes attached to his claims.

The reviews on this book point out the problems this book has and that there are better ones out there, however, I received this as a Christmas gift and read the entire thing (without looking at the reviews first) and I’m able to take a lot away from it. This is the only book I’ve read on ADHD and it was a comforting read for me, I’ve highlighted quite a few of the tips in it to try and help myself- which I feel excited to do. It was written in a very odd order and was extremely unorganised. Some of the advice in there mimics the classic suggestions given to ADHD people so I wouldn’t recommend this to others but I did appreciate reading this at the time.
