A deep dive into Dracula’s new kingdom as established in AVENGERS. Starring BLADE, the sheriff of Vampire Nation! An assassination threatens to unravel the fledgling country and spread chaos throughout the world. But is getting rid of a nation full of bloodsuckers really all that bad of an idea? Blade himself isn’t too sure…

In order for Dracula to have his own independent nation in Chornobyl, The Avengers sent Blade to be his sheriff. Dracula isn't happy, but Blade gets to kill Vampires, so seems like a win/win scenario. In this issue, one of Dracula's noblemen is targeted by a military group, so Blade investigates who would want to bring down Dracula's government.
First of all, I love the premise of this story. Blade is definitely resentful for having to work for Dracula while Dracula knows that Blade can't make any move on him. Dracula also knows that he will be loyal because, in the end, Blade gets to kill a vampire.
This was a fun issue and I hope this becomes a full-time series.
Loved it. Putting the vampires in Chernobyl but keeping all the USSR trappings? Amazing. They literally just painted Dracula's face over Lenin's and called it a day. Masterful.
I really like the way they created a world for Blade to exist in and have an ongoing story. I have never read a Blade comic before but am a big fan of the movies, so it was really cool to get that same personality vibe of Blade.
Solid entry nothing crazy. Felt like a serialized police procedural with hints of by the books Machiavellian intrigue. They need to put more respect on my boy Blades name and release this full series they been teasing soon 🥵
