This prequel to the upcoming series Stone Bay was everything and more! I was instantly drawn into the story and held captive until the very last word. This author can write! She's got a special way of mesmerizing the readers and making us want, but still giving us everything.
Skylar and Law were perfection! Instant chemistry and man these two were fire!! Spicy sauce! Don't think I can cook in my kitchen without thinking of these two lol. He 100% has book boyfriend status. No doubt. She was a firecracker and was so sassy. Loved it! Like when she just straight up texted him. No sugar coating with her. It was pretty darn easy to fall for these two.
Even with the amazing couple, the story didn't falter. It was intriguing and the suspense was not over the top. So good and I didn't want to stop reading about this couple or Stone Bay. Can't wait to see what else happens in this sleepy little Washington town! I'm down for it all!
I received a copy of this arc in exchange for my honest review. This is the prequel to a new upcoming series, Stone Bay. This book was soooo good, I plowed right through it in a few hours. I love love LOVE Skylar and Lawrence. These two had chemistry from the first time they set their eyes on one another. Something about Lawrence, he just gives me all the feels. He has a good heart, he’s sweet, but also has a protective dominant thing going on. I am ALL about it. He is 100% book boyfriend material. Skylar is independent, and I love how she freely speaks her mind. I really have a soft spot for this couple, something about them really clicked with me, and I am so excited for the rest of this series. I have never felt such a connection with a couple from just reading a prequel. This book flowed so well and was just beautifully written. Definitely recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Broken Sky by Persephone Autumn is the prequel for her new Stone Bay Series. We are introduced to the small town of Stone Bay and some of its residents. It is an age-gap suspense romance story about Skylar York and Lawrence Howell.
They meet one night when Sky is out with her roommate and notices him watching her from the other end of the bar. He knows he has been staring at her but he is so intrigued by her. The attraction between them is instant and their relationship a whirlwind. They don’t care about the age gap because they have just clicked and fallen for each other.
Sky is as fiery and feisty as her red curls, is very independent and doesn’t care what people in town think of her. She is surprised Lawrence is interested in her but finds his charisma very seductive. Lawrence is a kind and caring man, protective with a touch of dominance. He gives her the nickname of his “little phoenix”.
The romance runs alongside the suspense as someone definitely doesn’t want them to be together. His maturity works well with her spontaneity and they work well together as they try to solve who is toying with them. The childish games against them escalate as the whole situation becomes more complicated and involved.
Although a short story, the author packs a lot into it and I found it a great opener for the new series. She gives us a romantic love story between two interesting characters then adds in some danger and tension. I enjoyed trying to solve who was behind it all and hope we see some more of this couple in the coming books. I really liked her best friends Kirsten and Delilah so I can’t wait to see who the next story is about. I am really starting to love the way this author writes, she manages to draw you into a story with such ease and makes all her characters so lovable.
I honestly could not get enough of this story or the characters. I was caught up in this web of deceit and I was very surprised by the outcome of it all. Skylar and Lawrence are perfect and although Lawrence is a little older than Skylar it just added to his appeal. The man oozes charm and sexiness you can feel it coming off the pages. The chemistry was beyond imagination and these two have set the pace for future books in this series. I am a huge fan of Ms Autumn and I am so excited to see where she will take us with this series.
I received an arc copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This prequel was amazing! I devoured it in one sitting. I’m glad I started it when I had a few hours to spare, and it’s a really good thing I did because I wasn’t doing ANYTHING until I finished it. I absolutely love Skylar and Lawrence. Their chemistry was off the charts. Lawrence is definitely great book boyfriend material with a big heart , a protective nature and just the right amount of dominance. Sky is pretty remarkable herself as she is independent and isn’t afraid to speak her mind. I really enjoyed the suspense! It kept me wondering what was going on! This book gave me all the feels and I am so excited to read the rest of the books in this series!
Hook, line and sinker! This prequel was the perfect opener for the upcoming series. The story has the perfect amounts of suspense, danger, passion, betrayal, and friendship. If all these things sound like something you might be interested in trust me you want to check this out. I just scratched the surface I can't wait to read more to see the impact that this quick read has on everyone involved something. I have voluntarily left this review.
Skylar and Lawrence!! I loved them so much. There's something about an older man. Lawrence and Skylar have a chemistry that entwined and sparked like nothing I've read before. Instalike to so much more. I could read so much more of them. I read this prequel fast and I regret it. I hope you fall in love with them as much as I have.
Broken Sky was a fast paced prequel introducing us to the characters we will see in the Stone Bay Series.
It did have insta love between Skylar and Law, which isn’t really my thing but it wasn’t as terrible as some books I have read.
It had spice and some mystery within the storyline. It was just intriguing enough to make me want to check out the First full length book in the series!
My biggest complaint about this book was that there wasn’t enough. I know it is a novella, but I wish Lawrence and Skyler had their own full-length book. I read Shattered Sun without realizing this book existed, so I was already loving Law and Sky but wish I had more time to spend with them and really understand their personalities on deeper level. Overall it was a good book. Perfect amount of spice, romance and suspense.
Wow this prequel has everything. I devoured it.Skyler and Lawrence chemistry was so good, also instalovely which I don’t really like but it work in the story. There is age gap, suspension, betrayal. The kitchen scene wow.
