My thoughts: RISKY AMBITION is a page-turner that will keep you engrossed. The suspense is pretty cut and dried, you know who, why, how, and what for. It did keep you guessing when the next attack would come and how. The romance is top-notch and there is a stronger than usual faith message. If you like romantic suspense, you will love RISKY AMBITION and the other books in this series. I was given a copy free and all opinions are my own.

An okay read
This story was okay. Not my favorite of the series. It seemed implausible for the most part. It was frustrating and unlikely that the group of men found them everywhere they went. When it was explained how at the end, the explanation wasn't convincing or complete, in my opinion. I didn't know it was going to turn into a human trafficking story. The bad guys were written having too much power. They were too smart and always one step ahead. Reading about these situations in real life, I don't get the impression that they are that organized or have so many resources. But I could be wrong.

Risky Ambition by Christy Barritt captures the mysterious, yet horrific world of human trafficking and takes it into the world of Hollywood with all the glitz and glamour. From the first chapter, Barritt allows bullets to fly and the hero, Ghost, to step in and try to save the heroine, Chesney Blake, from danger. Barritt still knows how to keep a mystery moving as the story progresses, trapping her readers into a world of intrigue and suspense. The romance, of course, begins early and does not let go until the climactic moment has come to a satisfying ending. Overall, Risky Ambition by Christy Barritt is a nicely handled cozy mystery with plenty of moments of characters running for their lives. A good edition to any Barritt collection.

Of the three books in this series, I think this was my favorite so far. I was so glad to get to read Ghost's story after he was introduced in an earlier book. Just his name intrigued me. Ghost works part-time for Vanishing Ranch helping with evacuating clients, and also works for a charter plane company, piloting private charters. When a private charter turns into a murder attempt, his co-pilot is shot, and her ex-boyfriend flees, Ghost is the only one who can keep movie star Chesney safe. Complicating matters, Ghost and Chesney have always felt a mutual attraction, though Ghost knows he should not get involved with a client. The must figure out, who were the gunmen after? Chesney? The ex-boyfriend? And why? How does human trafficking figure into it? Who can they trust?

INTENSE!
From the opening pages this story had me!
We met Nate Casper aka Ghost in the previous book and he was instantly likeable. In this story he puts everything on the line to help movie star Chesney Blake.
There were some serious twists and turns in this book and one that TOTALLY blindsided me. It added to the excitement of the story.
Once again Barritt creates a power couple that you easily fall in love with. They both were passionate about what they wanted to contribute to life and where their inner strength comes from.
I look forward to what else Barritt brings us from Vanishing Ranch.

Nate Casper aka Ghost, former Navy pilot and part-time Vanishing Ranch pilot, has flown well-known movie star Chesney Blake several times in the past as part of his regular job. But when she arrives at the airport this time, things go awry. A group of human traffickers have their eye on Chesney for the huge payout they can receive by selling her. Ghost goes into protector mode and Chesney becomes the newest rescue for Charlie and Vanishing Ranch.
Once again, as with the other books in this series, the action drives the story forward without sacrificing character development or romance. I continue to enjoy the series and recommend it for anyone looking for clean, contemporary romance suspense with Christian themes.

I don’t give 5 stars. Those are for Shakespeare, Hemingway and others of that value. But still, this was a decidedly good book which I enjoyed. The romance was interesting, the story unique to me with lots of twists and turns. Chelsey seemed a weak stupid character who made poor choices but in the end pulled some ingenious tricks off.
This was a very good read. While the z Christian aspect was suggested, it was weak I thought. There was just enough to be able to label it a Christian story not enough to convict or change a persons character. The thing is I have always liked Barrett’s novels. Just wish they were longer but I probably couldn’t take any more drama between the covers.

In this intriguing suspense novel, the two roles get combined as he assists movie star Chesney Blake and then helps her find refuge at Vanishing Ranch. Who is after her and why would they want to kill her? Or do they have a more nefarious plan? The rapid pace keeps the reader’s heart racing as the action doesn’t let up. You may need to remind yourself to pause and inhale a deep breath. Don’t miss this exciting addition to this thrilling series. I received a copy from the author. All opinions are my own.

I had a BETA copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Actress Chesney Blake hires pilot Nate Casper known as Ghost to fly her to Miami for a rest, but before they can board the plane they are attacked. Instead of flying her to Miami, Ghost takes her to Vanishing Ranch, but they can’t stay because her former boyfriend and manager is pulling them into something dark and sinister. As they try to find out what is happening and stay ahead of the folks chasing them, the bad guys seem to be one step ahead. A great suspense filled book which points to some of the dark side of life.

I love this series!
Christy Barritt is one of my all time favorite authors. She never fails to bring the action, mystery and romance! The characters are believable and intresting. Their faith gives them hope and comfort when there seems no way out of the horrible situation Chesney's ex-boyfriend, manager gets them into with his greed and lies. If you like romantic suspense with faith based characters you will love all the books in THE VANISHING RANCH SERIES.

Great read
I've have read Christy Books for the last 20 years and each one has a great story to tell.
Female trafficking is a real problem here in the USA, knowing that God is just a pray away to help you can make all the difference in your life. Every female should read this book. There are men out there who will take advantage of you. Know what to look for. Really know your man before you marry them. It takes years to know them. There are some great guys out there, but not to many like Ghost. Happy reading

If you like contemporary suspense, this book is for you!! The story could be taken from an FBI file or the headlines of a newspaper. Hollywood stars, publicity, abusive boyfriend, and possibly something even more sinister could be involved. Can Ghost figure all of this out before it's too late?! As always with Christy Barritt's books, there are lots of twists and turns before the final - and surprising - conclusion! I received an advance copy from the author but all opinions are my own.

Sorry...just amazing
Ghost and Chesney....the sorry was because I didn't think this story would be on the level as all your other Vanishing Ranch stories. Boy, you proved me wrong. Every one of your stories are original, including this one. I have read all in this series and they all deserve 5+. Each of your stories are full of intrigue and suspense. Not to mention genuine emotions. You are truly a talented writer.

Great story, and I'm glad to see prayers answered. I was sad for the real woman caught in sex trade
I loved the story, and it had tension and excitement. To see that actresses can just be real people and be Christian is wonderful. I did, though, feel so bad for the real victims of sex trade. I think how many of them did pray. Did God save them? Or taught them to somehow endure with the Holy Spirit? I pray for Christ to come back soon to end it.

Yes! This has all the hallmarks of a Christy Barritt classic. Believable characters who really are extraordinary. Page turning suspense. Clean Romance that has you swooning. And of course the bad guys getting what they deserve.
Still waiting on Charlie's epic story. Fingers crossed she happens to find more information. No spoilers but I really want to know what happened!

From the beginning to the end, Risky Ambition is packed with constant action and suspense. I love the way the two main characters, Ghost and Chesney, come together and relate to each other. Their faith keeps them grounded through many difficult situations throughout the book. Great fast paced story with a lot of suspense! Highly recommend!

Brings to Light Relevant Topic
Always enjoy characters from previous books returning to the current book. The mystery is intense and intriguing. The beginning is a bit slow but quickly picks up pace. Keep reading you will be glad you did. On to next book in series. Appreciate the author continuing her excellent work. The Christian views are exceptionally done.

When a simple plane charter goes bad…this is what happens on one of Ghost’s jobs. One of his favorite repeat customers, actress Chesney, is about to board his plane when bullets fly! The story glided easily
Famous actress, handsome pilot, gunfire, car chases, kidnapping, romance... who wouldn't like all of that in a story? Chesney and Ghost get caught up in some turbulent situations that keep the reader fully engaged. There were definitely a few surprises. I look forward to the next book in this series. (This is a clean read).

exciting read
This book was a fun read that had some unexpected twists. The main character, ghost, meeting a movie star and getting to transport her around in his private plane, leads to an unexpected friendship and then more feelings are recognized. The story ended well with the bad guys getting what they deserve, and the good guys going on to do something meaningful.

Great Read
Hooked from the first page. Couldn't put it down. I love how the story shows how coming to know Jesus changes your life. Appreciate that the real horror of modern day human trafficking was addressed. And of course love the romance side. There are good people out there still.

Disappointed Read🙁
This series should be labeled young readers books to warn the more mature people that this series is not based in reality! Once again the bad guys are two steps a head of the good guys but the good guys win🤔? At least give a more detailed explanation of how😏🤔!
