I sold my soul to the devil only to turn around and slit his throat…
Thomas Kincaid took everything from me. My mother. My hopes. My innocence.
Now, it’s my turn.
He thought he was safe.
They all did.
They were wrong.

I WAS CONSUMED BY THE SICK BOYS!!!!!! My entire week was dedicated to this series and I regret nothing!
What a banger ! I’ve often felt disappointed in the last book of many series, but not this one. I LOVED this one. Luc and Micki were childhood best friends to teenagers in love until she vanished out of nowhere and his been looking for her for 5 years……. What happened to Micki? He doesn’t know and it’s killing him, we see this throughout the series and now just like magic she appears in his school, seating on the hood of his car like nothing happened! He is shocked and doesn’t even believe she’s real. What does she want? Why now? Thank God this is not one of those books where they keep secrets. She does hold one big piece of her purpose close to her chest but everything else she tells him right away. And yes this is the same Micki who’s Ava’s friend and helped her, she was the one teaching her how to fight and survive. So she tells Luc, Ava and the sick boys everything and why she’s back. Obviously for revenge. Also I was glad that her and Luc got together IMMEDIATELY, the second they walk into the house in the same day she arrived. And why I was glad you ask? Because they were not “new to each other” , they were not insta lust. They were much more than that, they were the always meant to be couple, they knew each other since childhood, she’s EVERYTHING to him and vice versa. Micki is the best and her mission is extremely important. This girl suffered HORRORS, she was sold, she had to work to pay her mother’s debt that became hers and she was broken beyond repair. But Luc is so loving, he is LITERALLY so baby girl at the same time he is very dominant and has the same violence the sick boys have. He always wanted to belong, because he was always alone fighting his battles. He wanted the friendship and loyalty the sick boys have, the brotherhood. And now he got it, and he deserved! The end of this book is emotional. There’s NOTHING that shows how much a MMC loves the FMC than literally jumping to his death WITH HER. You can’t tell me his love is not the most beautiful ever. He also than helps her with her deep issues and I like how the author didn’t just made all her mental health issues magically disappear, she needed treatment and she got it. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
First off READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS! Vengeful Rotten Casualties is an extremely dark, emotional, gritty story. Micki has gone through complete and utter h*l^ and that's putting it mildly. Her one saving grace is the loyalty and limitless love of Luc. Their journey is a tough read but so worth it in the end. Grab you some kleenex and come along for the ride.
Thank you Literally yours PR for the arc! Firstly I will say this would have to be the darkest book in the series!! Please PLEASE check trigger warnings. Some of the scenes, and what Micki the FMC goes through is nothing short of harrowing. She has been through so much and honestly it’s just devastating how much she has had to endure. Luc was the PERFECT MMC for a book like this. I felt that while he was dominant he was just so swooney too in the way he loved and treated Micki. His love is unwavering, and the way he loved Micki got me through some of the harder chapters of this book. The flashback scenes were extremely hard to get through. But the ending? You work hard for it but I felt that it was the perfect realistic ending ❤️
THE END OF THE SERIES HAS ARRIVED AND IT'S SO BITTERSWEET. LOVED THIS SERIES AND WHAT A ROLLER COASTER OF EMOTION IT HAS BOUGHT ME. AFTER THE PASSING OF HER MOTHER, MICKI'S LIFE IS NO LONGER HERS TO LIVE AND SHE GOES THROUGH HORRIBLE EVENTS CAUSED BY THOMAS. BUT AS SHE GETS OLDER. SHE BECOMES STRONGER AND PLOTS HER REVENGE ON ALL WHO HAS CAUSED HER PAIN. LUC IS SO IN LOVE WITH MICKI AND ONCE THEY ARE REUNITED HE WILL LITERALLY DO ANYTHING FOR HER. THEIR JOURNEY IS A TOUGH READ BUT SO WORTH IT IN THE END.
TW/ TROPES: SECRET SOCIETY. DEATH. TORTURE, CHILD ABUSE, CHILD SEXUAL ASSAULT. SEX TRAFFICKING. SUICIDE IDEATION. TABOO. STEP SIBLINGS. COLLEGE ROMANCE. EMOTIONAL SCARS. FOUND FAMILY. PARENTAL DEATH. DRUG ABUSE
This was my first of Lucy Smoke.... and it was a good one. I'm definitely going to back track and go read the other books in this series.
⚠️Check the trigger warnings⚠️ 💚Taboo 🖤Dark Romance 💚Emotional Rollercoaster 🖤Spicy 💚The final book in the series
I absolutely loved Micki. She had a very rough past, and even when she did not think she was strong, she was. And Luc... on Luc, he was oh so good! He truly loved Micki and was never going to let her forget it.
It's definitely a must-read if you love Dark romance!
I absolutely love this series and am thrilled Luc and Mikki get a book! These characters only played small rolls but were impactful. Getting to dive deep in their story was awesome and what a story it is. Dark and emotional, Mikki especially has gone through hell and is ready for vengeance which I am always there for. I love the deep connection between them. It was also great seeing old favourites. I hope we get more in this world.
Overall Opinion : Lucy smoke completely had me when I read her first book years ago. It was just a general reading because I liked the blurb and the genres too but omg , I totally expected the way she would have me intrigued by her series!! And to this day , I am still there , still hooked and dying to read more words by her.
This book is another release for my face series by her and I am so glad we got it. I want so much more of these characters and I hope we get that . After reading the blurb of this book , I thought that the heroine would be taking revenge from the hero but that was not the case. It was more like he helped her take revenge on someone else but it was still amazing and dark!
Definitely recommending this one to all the dark romance loving people out there.
Micke and Luc’s story- yes the 2 side characters that have a strong presence in the other books finally get their own! This one is the darkest I think in the series so check your triggers! Very dark, a little too smutty at times, love it sure but wanted a little more story, but still great!
I can't believe the series is over, but what an ending! I loved Vengeful Rotten Casualties.
What Micki goes through is horrendous and she may not think she's strong for living through it but she's stronger than she knows. Luc is so in love with Micki and will literally do anything for her. The love they have for each other is beyond words.
The way it is so well written and how Lucy writes everything is so immersive you really feel like you are in their world. It makes all the feelings so much more impactful. I felt so much during this entire book: anger, love, sadness, joy, and so many more emotions. To say this is a five 🌟 is an understament. Oh and the spice? 🥵🥵 beyond the spice scale. A amazing way to start off 2023!
This book was A LOT. A lot of feelings and steam, a lot of darkness and pain, a lot of just, ugh, a lot of everything and it was all consuming and absolutely broke me over and over again. My heart was pounding, I cried, my heart slowly started to mend but there will always be marks from this one. Luc and Micki’s story was not only the first book I read in this series but it was also my first Lucy Smoke book, and holy cow, I wasn’t prepared in the least but I will say I am 100% all in and will be reading every book asap because this wasn’t like anything I’ve ever read before and I need more.
This book is a tough read with all the triggers. I have to listen to soft love songs while reading all the gory, vivid details of the evol darkness happened to Miki. The way the author wrote those scenes are crazy vivid for me, I can see every single detail scene in live version, it's creeping me out! So yes, that love song playing in my ears is my own Luc, helping me survived to the other side.
" A wrathful queen hell-bent on revenge. Cold. Callous. Beautiful." This line is so perfectly portrayed Miki, I got the shivers.
While the struggle in Miki's head and how strong Luc love her, made me blubering mess of snot. The scene on the ravine was so strong and I would Dare say original, it left me gasping for how strong that scene was. I cried, I laugh. I was heart broken and at the same time healed with hope for a love so strong like them.
" I don't want to die. I just …don’t want to exist anymore. Because without existence, there’s no pain.".
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
contains spoilers Oh My oh My what a glorious ending to a heartwrenching and captivating series I have been reading the Sick Boys ever since their release and this was the perfect ending with Luc and Micki's story but first BIG FAT NOTE TO CHECK TRIGGER WARNINGS FOR THIS BOOK there are every kind of TW immaginable
Micki Micki Micki where do I begin with this beautiful powerful girl we first hear about her in book 1 and I am amazed how Lucy thought that far back into book 7 she is the epitome example of "When life gives you lemon" squeeze the shit inside your enemies eyes and blind them she has been dealt the worst of all the FL in this series but came out unbroken and unhinged and Luc is the example of the calm before the storm oh how sexy he was when he gets mad!
However
at 70% I was so sure that I will be giving a 4 star because I felt like I needed more backstory to Luc and Micki's love story, How did they meet? fell in love? grow to be obsessed with each other? we were thrown immediately inside their love story and Luc, I did not fully understand his hatred for his father. Yes Thomas was the worst of the human beings, but he did not actually do all this bad things to Luc to have him hate his father to the extent of killing him.
but it was the last 2 chapters and 2 epilogues that gripped my heart and made me give 5 glorious stars so spoilers again usually with stories of rape and trafficing, the FL at the end is happy when the abuser is killed, her problems are solved and suddenly all her past is wiped clean to live HEA with her guy this did not sit well with me was it really this easy to just forget and live your life???
Mikki had such a horrible childhood and terrible things done to her by vile men that even the love of Luc was not enough to make her forget she attempts to kill herself in the end after fulfilling her revenge and only when Luc shows her that he will die with her if she did that she changes her mind not only that she went to a Rehab center and got counseling this is the logical and correct action to do after a life in trafficking so thank you Lucy for this message
The final book in the series. I am going to miss these characters. Luc has been a character throughout the series. His family is the boys' enemy but Luc has worked with them throughout the series against his father. Now it is time for them to help him.
Micki was mentioned a few times starting in the first book. She helped Avalon years before and disappeared. She is back to get her revenge on Luc's father and she goes hard at it. She is taking out those who hurt her in the past.
Dark with a lot of emotion. Micki has gone through hell so there will be some triggers. Really good read. Looking forward to seeing what Lucy Smoke does next.
Well, leave it to me to choose the last book of a series. Didn’t realize that when I started it, however it read pretty well as a standalone.
Honestly, I don’t know where Micki and Luc fit into this series, as the book is focused on them with a gaggle of friends/family to help move their story along. I absolutely loved Micki’s character. It’s rare to stumble upon a badass chick written well, which she was. To say Micki has had a rough go of life is putting it mildly. She’s lived in pure hell the last five years and now that she’s back, the bastards are gonna pay.
“The only place that’s left for me is forward. No matter what it brings-salvation or torture.”
Not knowing where she has been for five years, Luc is shocked when Micki is back, plus he realizes she is in no way the girl he once knew. She’s older and harder, her eyes show the life she’s had to live. Unlike Micki, I wasn’t a fan of Luc or his personality. Not that Micki needed special treatment per say, Luc came across as selfish and insensitive. I just didn’t like his character at all and didn’t feel there was much chemistry between the two, so I will admit to skimming the Luc and Micki parts and focusing more on Micki’s plan. She was a beast and I couldn’t wait to see if she was going to be able to pull it off.
“If you want to crawl out of the gutter, you’ve got to be willing to get a little dirty.”
The book is well written and dark as all get out. It reminded me of a Ker Dukey-type of read, not for the faint of heart and mind the trigger warnings in the blurb. While it read well as a standalone, there were times when I felt like I was missing information on some of the supporting characters and what happened in the past. For fans of the series, this felt like a pretty good ending to me. ;)
I received a copy of this arc in exchange for my honest review. Wow. Absolute outstanding finale to this gripping addictive series. Lucy had me obsessed since book 1 with Dean and Avalon. This one had such a deep and emotional element to it, dealing with some heavy topics. The author navigated these topics brilliantly, making you feel like you are really there with these characters, going through the same hel*lish nightmare that they are going through. It will pull at your heart strings . Micki is such a strong woman, having been through years of he*l just trying to survive. Now that she is free, she returns back to where she lost her mother and her best friend/boyfriend. She’s back in Eastpoint with a vengeance to get revenge, and to reunite with Luc. These two are broken souls without one another, but together their broken pieces bind them together. Everything about this book was brilliant. The character growth was incredible, the story growth from book one up to this one was outstanding. Every single question throughout this series was answered for me, and I am left feeling so fulfilled with how this was wrapped up. I highly recommend this series if you like dark bully romance. This was the only book in the series that wasn’t an enemies to lovers romance. Refer to author’s trigger warning prior to reading. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Genre: Dark Contemporary Romance ⭐️ 3.5/5 🌶 3/5 🧠 3/10 Cliffhanger: N/A Noteworthy: This is the 7th and final book in the Sick Boys completed series of interconnected standalones. Heavy content warnings. Dual first-person POV. Available on KU.
This series is a must read for dark romance lovers. It's an archetype for revenge romance. It has strong male characters but even stronger female characters. This book was a good wrap up to the overarching plot. Seeing Michi go on her tour of vengeance was so satisfying. Luc come into his own by the end of this book but he will always be Michi's lapdog and you know what, it works! The triggers are heavy in this series and never more so than in this final installment. Read with care.
I did ding this half a star for the excessive use of 'Pretty Girl'. It just triggered me for some reason. This will likely be fine for most readers but I just couldn't read it without cringing a bit.
Lucy... I both love and hate you for this book. IT BROKE ME. I sobbed. I was snotty and disgusting and inconsolable. But thank god you mended my bleeding heart and stitched me back up again.
This was such a ride. The full circle moments in this book for everyone, not just Micki and Luc, we're so damn good. This found family is closer than ever and it was so beautiful to watch come together. I am heartbroken that it's now time to say goodbye to these characters. They own such a huge piece of my soul and I'm not ready to let them go.
As always, the spice was immaculate. Luc is one dirty boy and I am HERE FOR IT. And Micki was everything I had hoped she would be, and so much more. You've given her one hell of a journey and she's come out of it beaten to hell... but mending. Growing. Learning. And ready to live.
I loved it. I cannot express how much this series means to me, so if you haven't read it yet I AM BEGGING YOU TO DO SO.
Thank you Lucy for the ARC of this final book in my favourite series. I adore you and the stories you gift us with.
I am so sad to have finished this series. Compared to my review of book one, I have done a complete turn around. I fell in love with the characters. The stories, the heartache, trauma and all the inside jokes made this so interesting and enjoyable. The author made this entire series come together so freaking well. From each of the Sick Boys and their ladies, down to how it all came together at the end. I was dying to read about Kincaid and how his story was going to go. Needless to say I was not a single bit disappointed. This is a must read for dark romance. Also, if you’re easily offended, this series isn’t for you.
This book was everything I knew it would be. I've loved Luc since we first met him and I'm so glad we got to hear his story even if it did emotionally wreck me! The way this story is told keeps you on the edge right to the end and boy what an ending it was. Lucy tackles some very real and very serious trauma in this book so take the trigger warnings seriously. I'm glad Lucy deals with them the way she does, it's real and gritty and heartbreaking and honest. From the very start of this book you know there's going to be more than meets the eye and let me tell you there are twists and turns all over the place but you never feel lost or confused it flows so well. The dynamic between the two main characters is beautiful and raw and at times heartbreaking. I loved having the others from the series in this book as well, its truly brings it all together. I can't believe The Sick Boys series has come to an end this was the first series I read by Lucy Smoke and she instantly became one of my top favourite authors. If you do anything at the start of this year it's to read this series, you won't regret it.
I hate finishing this series off with a 3 star rating, but I just didn’t feel Luc and Micki as much as I did the other couples in the series. Maybe I didn’t get enough of their background together to feel a real bond? Not sure, but I think this was probably my least favorite couple in the series. I’m glad Micki was able to find peace though.
There are so many twist in this book it’s insane! Lucy really out did herself with the final book of our beloved Sick Boys. Every plot change had me diving in harder, more determined to know then ending! Just loved this whole story. Luc and Micki are bad a** and perfect together!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I have been obsessed with the Sick Boys series since the very first book and despite the fact that I am incredibly sad to see it end, I absolutely loved this book.
I had always been curious what had happened to Avalon’s friend Micki that we met in book 1 and then we eventually met Luc and I found myself curious about him.
I am so glad that in the end these two were together. I loved their story, it was incredibly emotional and I totally felt for Micki throughout the book.
Cannot wait to see what comes next from this amazing author.
I am so sad. I loved all of the other books, but this one was not it. Too much abuse and mention of rape for me. I can handle dark usually and haven’t been bothered by the majority of the other books but this one, is my least favorite and probably will not continue it. :(
Vengeful Rotten Casualties by Lucy Smoke is Book 7 of Sick Boys Series. This is the story of Luc and Mikki. Mikki has been through so much and is feeling so low. Luc is so crazy about Mikki he works to win her over and to help her through her darkness. This does have trigger issues so please read author/ books warning. Enjoyed this book and this series.
I LOVED every SINGLE book in this series. I can’t even explain how sad I am that this has come to an end. I grew so attached to every character, and their stories. Honestly well done Lucy smoke… this series was soooooooo worth the read! Thank you
Wow, this book grabbed me and would not let me put it down until the last word was read. This book has everything needed to make it a fantastic read. IT moves along at a pace that makes for an enjoyable read, speeding up and slowing down as needed. The characters are amazing and no matter what happens you cant help but love them. This is a book that needs to be on your TBR list, no doubt about it.
