This graphic novel follow-up to Every Word You Never Said brings all the warm and fuzzy feelings to life, as fans get a sneak-peak at Sky and Jacob’s special first Christmas together.
The story is full of charm and heart-warming moments, complementing everything the boys went through to get to this happy place, together and in love.
I adored the “I love you” scenes, the gift exchanges, and especially the moments where Sky realises just how loved he truly is in his new life with Jacob, his friends and his phenomenal adoptive parents, the Grays.
The illustrations by Dzamesi are absolutely stunning, bringing Greene's characters to life in a way that rivals the specialness of other graphic novels, like Heartstopper: Volume One.
This was the perfect holiday short to solidify Sky and Jacob as one of the years best book couples. Together they’re cuteness personified and I’m here for it!
#ARC generously provided by the author in exchange for a honest review
Look at the cover! Isn’t it awesome? Snowflake Kisses is a graphic holiday novella set after Every Word You Never Said. Of course, Skylar and Jacob return, and I adored the art and the uncomplicated story. It’s cozy, sweet and warm (despite the snow 😂), and it reminded me a lot of the Heartstopper books. A great addition for everyone who fell in love with Every Word You Never Said and loves to read a graphic novella.
I picked up this graphic novella without having read the author's novels, so I didn't know this story or these characters beforehand. The art style just really drew me in, and it sounded so cute, so I couldn't resist.
And even without knowing these characters, this was such a cute read! The artwork is really adorable, and I loved seeing representation for a non-verbal character and loved how the different speech bubbles showed his different ways of communication. Also, I really want the present Jacob gave him too!!
Definitely read their full book first, and then fall in love with them all over again in this sweet, and well-drawn graphic novel. I love getting more with Skylar and Jacob, and this is the perfect quick fluffy graphic novel to read for the holiday!
[I received a digital copy for an honest review] Snowflake Kisses is an absolutely adorable holiday graphic novella by author Jordon Greene and artist Yayira Dzamesi. It follows Skylar and Jacob who readers know from their book, Every Word You Never Said. Even if you haven't had the pleasure of meeting them before you will fall in love with them here.
Skylar and Jacob go on a Christmas getaway with Skylar's parents that includes family time, snowball fights, sunsets, hand holding and mistletoe. Yayira's illustrations bring Skylar and Jacob to life perfectly, and it was so special to see these precious boys being young and in love. 🥰
It is incredibly OFF brand for me to be sneaking in anything remotely Christmas-y this early … but I just couldn’t help myself !! Too cute !
I loved Sky and Jacob’s story and was so excited to see it continued.
Snowflake Kisses is cute and cozy and everything you’d want from a holiday short story sequel. Not to mention this art style is just PERFECT for such sweet characters !!
THIS WAS THE CUTEST THING EVER!!!! I LOVE SKYLAR AND JACOB WITH MY WHOLE BEING !!!!!!!!! i need more of them!!!! i cried at the end but in the best way!!!!
I read this without reading any of the authors previous books so I didnt know the characters or story beforehand, I was just curious because it looked cute. I really liked the art style and the characters and story were both so cute, I really liked it! A quick and easy read I would definitely recommend it
Snowflake Kisses is the definition of cuteness overload! I love how the art style embodies how I felt reading Every Word You Never Said - cute with dashes of wit and sarcasm.
This story solidifies Skylar and Jacob as my favorite couple! They’re perfect for each other and love oozes from them! Mr. and Mrs. Gray are incredible adoptive parents while Imani and Seth are awesome friends to Jacob as much as Skylar.
The colors used are so visually appealing and winter aesthetic-y too! Love the choice to use subtle colors over bright ones. I think it fits Skylar and Jacob’s story better.
I seriously love this story and I will most definitely re-read it on multiple occasions - I can see it now!
And to sum up my reading experience: *lots of squealing*, CUTE CUTE CUTE, and “I need MORE!”
This is the perfect addition to the Noahverse. Snowflake Kisses follows the characters from Every Word You Never Said on an adorable, wintry little adventure. It’s the perfect cozy graphic novella and everything I’ve ever wanted. Jordon, thank you.
It’s adorable. I don’t know what else there is to say. The story, the art, it’s all just so very cute. I really enjoyed Every Word You Never Said and it was nice to revisit Skylar and Jacob for a bit.
THE CUTENESS!! MY GOD! THE CUTENESS!!!! I received an eARC of this this morning and my God I read it in one sitting, it’s the perfect continuation of Jacob and Skylar’s relationship, I loved the cameos from other characters, and the Grays continue to be just the best parentals!! Definitely make sure you pick this one up when it comes out later this year, and read EVERY WORD YOU NEVER SAID if you haven’t already!
To start of, make sure to read "Ever Word You Never Said" first. I'm sure this is enjoyable without previous knowledge from that book but this novella will be a lot more fun with that info and background. For me it was great to revisit two of my favorite characters and being able to just spend a little bit more time with them enjoying them being together.
And oh gosh this was adorable! This came in right when I was at my boyfriends place and I marathoned it in one go while being cuddled up to him and it was the best! This graphic novella was full of adorable moments making me squeal out loud (to my boyfriends distress). It is filled with pure fluff and happiness and that is something that is absolutely the best from time to time. I loved how nothing intense happened and everyone was simply happy. Yeah drama can be fun and it was great in EWYNS, but I need my gays to be simply happy from time to time too okay?
As Sky is nonverbal this graphic novella changes up the way speech-bubbles get used to show his different forms of communicating. It uses different fonts and bubble styles for each way he might speak. I loved how this was done with a very simple system but at the same time a very clear system too. If Sky were to use ASL the panel would sometimes show him making one of the signs as well. I really liked how this was included.
So if you are not ready to leave Sky and Jacob behind, love heartstopper like comics and some winter holiday fun make sure to check it out!
Words can’t express how much I loved this book! I completely fell in love with Sky and Jacob in EWYNS, so having them in graphic novel form was the best! It’s Skylar and Jacob’s first Christmas together, and they’re spending it on a weekend trip with Sky’s parents. Skylar is so happy not only to spend the holiday with his boyfriend, but also with his wonderful adoptive parents. It’s shaping up to be great already with the adorable cabin they’ve rented. But Jacob is panicking because he has yet to find Skylar the perfect gift, and he wants nothing more than to make Sky happy…and not ruin their first Christmas together! If you read EWYNS (YOU MUST!!) this one is so fun in graphic novel form. I loved seeing these two sweethearts together again and being back in their world 💜💜
I have been waiting for this short story/comic from the moment Jordon Greene announced it! However, I was hoping and dreaming for more from Skylar and Jacob from the second I finished reading the last page of, Every word you never said. The storyline is adorable and makes my heart flutter and the illustrations truly brought the characters alive. It was short and sweet and I thirst for more.
As someone who loves reading the graphic novel style of Heartstopper, I really enjoyed Snowflake Kisses! It’s a short, sweet and fun Christmas-themed read. The illustrations are so well done, as is the written content.
Thank you to the author Jordon Greene for sending me an ARC of this stunning YA graphic novella.
This was just ok for me. I thought the non-verbal rep was nice to see but I didn't feel like there was much depth at all to the story or these characters. I think it will be pretty forgettable because not much happened at all.
