I had always been able to accomplish anything I had put my mind to.
Sometimes I felt like it was a gift, and other times it felt like a curse.
Hard work and dedication were things that served me best when nothing else could.
When I got the idea to form my own little Garden of Eden, I knew that only the best and most beautiful flowers would do.
But much like anything that’s given the opportunity to grow, discipline is a need to ensure prosperity. Wildflowers aren’t what I wanted, however, one managed to sneak by under the guise of demure obedience.
When I got her back, I thought it would be the right thing to do to show her how life should be as opposed to what it was.

This book....wow...not expecting this storyline in the least! I absolutely loved it but......but.....I really needed more...so much more out of the sexy broken Troy!
Posy a teenage runaway. Just barely getting by she makes her way into a small town, country bar. Needing a bite to eat, she orders, enjoys and meets Troy.
Troy is a country boy gentleman. Offering to help Miss Posy after sensing her struggle he offers her a ride to relax before getting on the road again. Accepting his offer proves to lead her into country living hell.
After a night on Troy's farm, Posy is about to be lead to a corral. You got it, this is a corral to sell off your property, your woman to the highest bidder.
"They Shoot the runners around here."
"Troy, why would you do this to me?" I asked, dangerously close to tears.
"Because I want you back eventually."
Her life for next 7 years is nothing but abuse by 4 different ruthless men, until she is corralled back into Troy's hands.
As she accepts her fate, and learns to live with Troy and his love and mental snaps.
This is where I need more to this story. Troy has a head injury that we learn a tad about but he also has abandonment issues that stem from somewhere, we just never learn where.
As their lives conform to each other, Posy is introduced into the dark secret Troy has been hiding in his stables.
After being asked to help Troy with a horrible job, Posy knows there is no escaping him ever.
She accepts what fate has to offer. Her life belongs to Troy. Just when she feels she is safe with him, he breaks her heart.
"I want to see you run."
That statement left me speechless with no where to go. The end!!
Please Miss Olson...tell me there is a book 2 somewhere waiting for me!!!
Oh shit. What can you expect from Yolanda? Mind fuckery that is.
Objectively, mindfuckery thing? Amazing. The writing though, let much to be desired. I noticed that she really like to put time jumps-times where you really wants to know what happened. There were these time gaps that didn't make sense, where we were shown the impacts rather than experiencing the torture together, if you know what I'm saying.
*sigh* I don't know what I'm saying anymore. I think if the plot is more fleshed out, I would've maybe like it a tiny bit more.
OMFG Seriously this is one mind f**k read, and one hell of a dark, intense read.
Posy has not had much of a life and decides that she is better on her own. Travelling the railroads she happens on a small town where she meets a sexy cowboy Troy.
Things are not as they seem and Posy wakes to a nightmare worse than ever before. Thrown in to a life as a sex slave, Posy adapts to her new life in order to survive
Troy is a sexy cowboy, but appearances are really deceiving in his case. There doesn't seem to be no rhyme or reason as to why Troy is the man he is. The kind talking cowboy is one seriously f**ked up man.
I think that Posy and Troy have one strange relationship, each needs each other in the most messed up way.
Poor Scout, I fell in love with him.
This is one hell of a dark read, so be warned if there are circumstances that can cause triggers.
You will be surprised at the outcome of the story and it is a read that will have you hooked until the end.

Well f*ck me backwards I was not expecting that. (meant in a omfg that was so totally amazing, I didn't read the blurb *wooopsie* kinda way.) If you like a side of twisted with your lightly dark you need to read this!!! #troy is up there in the hall of royally twisted. An I really liked him/ hated him /empathised with him. No valid reason for his behaviour but still. I must be pretty twisted myself to because I needed this(I've read too much fluffy of late) I thoroughly enjoyed this shortie. That ending omg. Yeah be prepared to throw your kindle!!! #nomorespoilers #enjoy #idid Excuse the word vomit I'll come back and clean it up once I've recovered. #feelinghungover.
What the ever living f**k? Troy is batshit crazy & Posy has done lost her damn mind! **This is not a romance novel** Posy was traded as a slave when she was 17 by Troy. 7 years and 6-7 owners later, Troy gets her back. Posy hates Troy but she can't help but to trust his crazy ass. Three years, 5 slaves and one dog later.... Can she still trust him?
10 stars!!!!! Omg dark book lovers you have got to get this!!!! this is by far my favorite book yet.. I thought Decimation of Mae was it until I read this one!!! Everyone needs Troy in their life. I am not going to give any spoilers you just need to get this and read it!! :)
A waste of my time (in my opinion). A thoroughly depraved, totally unerotic look at a psychopath who kills women and dogs for his thrills and is enabled by a pathetic woman it looks like is about to become his next thrill. This sure was a nice way to ruin an otherwise beautiful Sunday afternoon.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Dark and deliciously twisted. It will make you cringe, squirm and keep you on your toes. If you think you know how it ends, think again. YOU DON'T. This is my favorite kind of book. I loved it !!
I received this ARC for an honest review I wasn't sure what I was getting just knew that it was going to be different and a little dark. I will admit that once I started I couldn't put it down and the pages just kept turning I do hope there is more too come because it leaves you with a cliffhanger.
Posy is young and has been living on the streets since leaving her foster care, pick pocketing to survive, she finds herself stumbling upon the Trackside Tavern its a run down wooden structure where she uses her last ten dollars for food, whilst sitting there a man not much older than her walks in and sits down right beside her. Posy gets a little disgruntled with the man Troy and decides to leave as she's deciding which way to go Troy calls out her name and apologies for upsetting her and invites her to the Old Corral in town that evening where there is going to be music, food and entertainment.
Posy ends up going to the Old Corral that night but her life as she knew it is about to change once more. I don't want to give too much away but you will need to have an open mind for the things that are to come next in this book, trading, branding, split personalities, love in a strange sense plus a lot more twists and turns.
This book is definitely not your hot alpha, billionaire, hearts and roses type of book but Troy and Posy have something that will draw you in and keep your turning the pages to see what happens as I said at the beginning I hope the author continues this story.
Posey was not privileged to live a normal life. She was a girl of the street, surviving by stealing from anyone she came across. One afternoon in a little bar she found herself face to face with a nice guy with deep blue eyes, who seemed to want to get to know and help her get some food. He was a seemingly nice cowboy named Troy, but Troy was not the gentle cowboy he seemed… Posey should have followed her instincts and ran the other way, but she didn't.. and that is how her nightmare began. Posey was traded into a horrible sex slavery, she had no idea that this was the beginning of the end. This is an insane roller coaster that never gets better after the final drop. This crazy ride of a book takes you on a journey that keeps going even after the final sentence. It makes you think back over everything that you've read and just question so many things- it's almost unnerving. I gave this book 5 stars because the story draws you in and keeps you hooked. You see the world through the eyes of an innocent young girl that needs to be protected, but the reality she experiences is a slap in the face that tells you this was never meant to be a fairytale. It is a very fast read that will leave you feeling a lot of emotions- most of them. Showing the darker nature of the human psyche, this story crams in a whole lotta crazy! Don t miss this book because you won't be disappointed at all. Reviewed by the Art Of Romance Erin
~*~ obsessed by books arc given in exchsnge for an honest review ~*~
"You won't try to run? They shoot the runners around here."
Sage advise for a young woman thrust into the old corral to be sold as a sex slave, a thing, a toy for the sadistic pleasure of strangers. Posy is accomplished at surviving, having learned from a young age life is easy at least not for her. A random guy in a random burger bar changes her life forever...
Catapulted into the life of a sex slave Posy finds herself back at the beginning, returned to the one who had introduced her into this living hell. Troy. Her destruction. He is one messed up puppy. Sexually deviant, with no dark trauma to explain why he does the things he does, Troy embraces the darkness and revels in it. Posy is strangely drawn to his own brand of mad and does what she does best, adapts and survives.
At points your stomach will be churning...alas poor Scout, the cattle brand and his own personal garden. But at others you will see the odd kind of beauty in their relationship. He is unquestionably a devil in cowboy boots but can Posy be the one to tame him?!? A shocking and fast paced short read from the deliciously wicked mind of Yolanda Olson, would you really expect anything less?!?
A five star read between your fingers can't believe she ended it there read!
Wow what can I say about Deep Blue!!!??? I'm speechless, but in a good way. I had no idea what to expect from Deep Blue as I went in blind, unknowing and without prior knowledge and adored every minute of this book. I'm new to Yolanda but I'm so going to read more as she's my sort of dark and twisted author.
Posy is a survivor, being passed around the care system all her life and having faced enough of life horrors she's fled and is grabbing some food when she meets Troy in a hill billy dive pub one day. This encounter forever changed her future from the age of 17 - 23 until she meets Troy again. He's alluring, deceptive and one hell of a crazy man who has 'issues', he's the devil disguised in denim and one you should run from as once your his you can never, ever get away!! Troy to me was the perfect blend of evil and sweet; manipulator and carer, a walking contradiction. Does he understand his emotions? Can he explain his actions and what does the future hold for Posy in his life?
What follows is a multi layered, twisted and expertly executed tangled tale of what happens when you step off the track you were journeying down and the price you pay for survival.....
Talk about a great, crazy read! Yolanda packed a punch with this one by giving us quite an emotional, crazy, fast paced read and I for one will never look at a flower garden the same again without thinking about Troy's unique one he kept on his farm! Posy doesn't realize that her life is about to be forever changed when she stops for a rest in a little town. Meeting Troy sets off a chain of events that gets her sold. From then on, poor Posy is subjected to one crazy to the next. But there is no way Posy or me for that matter, was ready for the type of crazy that would have her in the end.
Troy of course is hot but A LOT crazy. It was nice to see his POV some though because I never once thought about his issues being what they are. And his issues run deep believe me. It really was more than anything I could have anticipated from just reading the blurb. Loved it!
Omg, I was given this ARC for an honest review. I hadn't read the blurb, there was a hot cowboy involved what could possibly go wrong....the cowboy is a psychopath! I normally read HEA stories and this tale ripped me way out of my comfort zone. It's dark and twisted, and despite me not even liking the characters I couldn't put it down. My heart was racing madly reading this story...run...don't run, you have to read it to find out why. As for the ending!! I thought my kindle was stuck as I tried to turn the nonexistent page...it's a WTF ending and I loved it. 5+ stars to Yolonda for scaring me.
I've been captivated by the idea of this book long before its release. A truly dark premise, with a twisted cowboy and a little flower who picked the wrong town to stop in, combined with an author who has a way with words that blows me away, and I knew I wouldn't be disappointed.
And I wasn't.
This isn't going to be a book everyone loves. It's gritty, dark (actually dark not a "woe is me wah wah" dark) read that is in fact disturbing at times.
I do encourage reading Deep Blue. Troy is one of the best characters I've read in a long time.
And that last sentence gave me shivers. Gotta love it!
Ok so this is Yolanda's new book and it's so damn good. It's dark! It's sexy! It's a total mind f$&@ but it's a must read book. Poor Posey is a little lost in life. She ends up in a small hick town and meets Troy Cahill. Troy has a dark secret of sorts. Once his eyes set on Posey it's on but she's just too young....at first. Read this to find out all the dark details and find out if you love to hate or hate to love Troy! Highly recommended.
Holy crap! You want a little crazy mixed in with your crazy?! Well look no further! This story starts out messed up and just keeps spiraling! Hoping there will be another - trust me, you do not want to miss this one!
“𝑨𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒍𝒍, 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒏?“ - famous last words of every horror movie victim and fateful words that are uttered by Posy.
She’s a teenage runaway who walks into the wrong bar at the wrong time, inadvertently placing her in the path of the charismatic yet intimidating Troy Cahill. This is one mistake she may never recover from.
Even if you’ve read this author’s work you won’t see these twist coming. I was sitting on the edge of my seat with anticipation at each turn. And is it wrong that I enjoyed each time Troy calls Posy his “pretty girl?” I mean the man has these sweet moments thats make you swoon then his inner psycho emerges and scares the ever loving fvck out of you.
Although I am really curious to learn what happened with Posy’s other three owners and exactly what Troy’s flowers experienced. Maybe we’ll find out in Stark White...
" I was going to die on this farm of horror, branded, alone, and at the hands of a devil that hid so carefully among the normal people in the daylight. "
This was my first book by Yolanda Olsen. It was a super quick read. Definitely not what I was expecting at all based on the cover. I tend to go into most books blind because I have no triggers.
I will say this though **there is animal death** so readers beware.
I was intrigued by the idea of the corral. Something I'm sure exists in real life. Troy grabbed my attention because he wasn't what I expected him to be taking part in something like that. He's young and buff and maybe even handsome....? Definitely not what I pictured.
I liked posy. She's a strong fmc that went through hell for over 7 years just to be put right back into the hands of the man that took her. The story was interesting. I was not expecting some of the twists and turns. It is a unique story but not for the faint of heart. I enjoyed it 🤷♀️
This isn't the kind of book with character growth or a redemption arc or anything like that. I didn't feel connected to these characters but I didn't want to put the book down. I will be jumping right into book 2.
“The Corral Deep Blue” is the first book I’ve read by Yolanda Olson, and I will most certainly be working my way through the rest of her books. “Deep Blue” is book 1 of a duet.
Posy, already having a challenging background, is taken by Troy. Troy has two sides—the good and the bad- explained why. Author Yolanda Olson conveyed the creepiness of Troy so well. And the way the story is presented had me going, what the puck several times.
WHAT. What kind of mind f***ery was this?! That ending. Ugh. UGH. Thank God the release of the next book is in 2 days or I might've started throwing things. I think I loved Troy as much as I psychotically love Luke. I neeeed more.
What in the haystacks have I just read? I don't think I've ever read a story with the character complexity of Troy. He seems to be beyond any psychological analysis known to man.
Initially I thought "oh Troy is adorable". He's just a little tapped in the head. You know split personality, something along those lines. Even after his kidnapping and torture methods he used with his flowers (kidnapped girls he named after flowers), I thought redemption was possible. Yep, Scott "shot down" the adorable assumption with a quickness. How can a deranged kidnapper/killer be adorable?
The only "flower" left breathing is Posy. In her own way she is almost as damaged as Scott. The two of them together is dysfunctional at its highest. After nearly a decade with Troy, Posy discovers, although his favorite, she's not completely safe. The day before Troy's 32nd birthday Posy discovers her value in Scott's eyes.
This was the first book i had of this genre and author. I wasn't sure what to expect when i got gifted this book. But I was hooked from page one.
We meet Posy who is living on the streets, and not staying in same place for not long. She one day meets Troy at a tavern she went into have a meal with her last money. She decides to meet him later on, and everything changes for her. Will he keep her or will he get rid of her?
This is dark story and messes with your head. With a massive cliffhanger at the end. But really worth it if you love dark stories. This was my first book of this genre and now i can't stop reading it.
All I have to say is WOW. Posy is a runaway who pickpockets for survival. She meets Troy who invites her to a party. Posy takes Troy up on his offer not realizing the hell that she is walking into. Posy finds herself in a trade with other young women. Troy promises her that he will get her back eventually. Seven years later Posy finds herself back with Troy. Troy has many sides to him that will leave you shocked. And I have to say the flower garden was very unexpected. Will Posy ever get away from Troy?
Yolanda Olson has a way of making you like the crazy, insane bad guy! Troy is sadistic and way off his rocker, but in the end you can't help but somehow like him. Posey keeps him grounded for the most part. I think she honestly likes him even though he is nuts. Would she have chosen where she ended up? Probably not, but life happens that way sometimes. Very well written with developed characters and a story line that keeps you engaged. If you like books that are dark and twisted, then Yolanda Olson is your girl to go to.
Again Yolanda dives into darkness!! Posy is running away. That is until she meets Troy. Troy and a few other sickos trade females like they are animals. You own them for a year, then you take them back and trade them off again. Because of Posy's age, Troy trades her. 7 years later he gets her back. In some respects, Troy is a cake walk compared to the others, yet in others hes the reason for nightmares. What will set him off?? What can Posy do to calm the beast?? Is there a way out?? RUN!?!?!?!??!
I was given the opportunity to beta read this book for Yolanda Olson. I was anticipating this read for a while and finally I can say I, by no means, was disappointed! Troy and Posy share a story that keeps you intrigued every page turn. Just when I thought I was in Yolanda's head, she kicked me out and shocked me with the strength of a woman and the psyciopath of a man. I've enjoyed many cowboys, but Troys farm is a garden all its own!
