I’m used to helping people fight for their lives. But I’ve never had anyone in my corner before...

The ER department is chaotic and intimidating to most. But for me, it’s one of the few places where I don’t feel like a disappointment. Heading up the team of a busy Philadelphia hospital isn’t exactly a picnic, but I’m confident here. Untouchable.

That is, until Carter Grange walks through the door.

He might be a little banged up, but that doesn’t stop his muscular frame rippling with power — or his deep blue eyes from piercing my soul. Carter is definitely not the sort of man I need right now, but when we find ourselves thrust together again by pure chance...well, the chemical pull is irresistible.

Problem is, I have a messy past snapping at my heels, and a young daughter to protect from its clutches. This tattooed mobster isn’t the kind of man I should be playing house with.

But when push comes to shove, will Carter step into the ring for us?

Catherine and Carter’s journey was very enjoyable and I liked it a lot.
Despite both of them being totally opposite, their connection was wonderful and gripping.

Catherine was a single mother of a sweet eight y.o. girl, the youngest female doctor to lead an Emergency Department in the country at the age of thirty-five.
Carter was a fighter who had been trained in MMA for years and also part of the mob.

This story was different from the previous two, where the mafia aspect was light and can be read as a standalone.

This emotional and suspenseful story warmed my heart, the main characters were relatable and easy to connect with, Carter’s engagement with Cat’s daughter was stirring and it was very well written.

Carter is part of the mafia who takes care of problems for his boss, and he's also a MMA fighter. Cat is a single mother who runs the ER but she has trust issues for men which was understandable. She's also a strong woman who rose above her past & won't put up with cr*p from other people. The moment these two met, the sparks were flying, and despite the trust issues Cat carried, it was only a matter of time before they lit the sheets on fire. I loved the fact that Carter had such a big heart, and the moments between him & Cat were amazing but even more amazing are the moments between him & her daughter. So we have heat, sweet (despite the world he's a part of), and a scene stealer who brought humor to the table. On top of all that goodness, there's also some suspense & action to get the heart racing, so yeah, I LOVED My Fight a TON! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This is a well written opposites attract mafia story with strong characters in Carter and Cat. The author does a great job developing the story and pulled me in with the intense storyline. They have a hot chemistry and growing romance. She moves the story fluidly with her perfectly painted scenes and delivers a terrific read.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

Carter and Catherine😍

Absolutely loved Carter and Catherine❣️

Carter is the enforcer for Sebastian and the Mob but has opened a gym in Philly, but still goes to New York when needed. He meets Catherine when he goes into the ER after one of his fights, and his manager requests her to treat him. They go their separate ways thinking they are too different but see each other again when her sister organises for them to attend self defence classes at his gym…not realising it’s his gym😳

Even though there is an attraction on both sides, Catherine has escaped to Philly to protect her daughter and herself and feels her life is messy with a persistent ex. Carter is not one to have attachments, but he soon finds he wants that attachment with her when he makes the mistake of walking away😢 I loved the way Carter did this and how he included Ivy🥰

This is book three in The Men of New York series and it is Carter and Catherine's story and omg it is definitely a must read. Carter is a MMA fighter and also works for the mafia but when he is badly injured in one of his rights he needs to go to the Hospital but being part of the job everything had to be done discretely and that is where Catherine comes into the picture as she has helped them before. Catherine is a doctor and also leads a busy emergency department, she is also a single mom to her daughter Ivy so her life is always busy and she is pleased with everything that she has accomplished if only she didn't have her abusive ex who is dangerous hanging over her head but she is determined to protect her daughter and keep her safe regardless of what she has to do to achieve it. When Carter and Catherine meet the air around them crackles and sparks fly but they are on different paths and will probably never see each other again. When they do meet again they realise that the attraction and chemistry between them can't be denied and they are just kidding themselves if they think that they can stay away from each other but danger is just around the corner watching and waiting for the right time to strike but will Carter get there in time to save Cat and Ivy before it is too late and everything that they cherish be taken away from them especially after the secrets are revealed. I absolutely loved this book and I couldn't put it down as it takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions and my heart went out to them and everything that they have been through at the hands of the people that are supposed to love and protect them and I found myself on the edge of my seat while holding my breath wondering what would happen next and what the outcome would be for them all. Samantha Skye is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention and the depth of her story's are what makes you go back time and time again to read her book's and I can't wait to read more in the future.

Here is Carter and Cat’s story! We actually met these two characters in the previous books so I was highly anticipating meeting them again. I am
happy to say, I am not disappointed!

Carter has been working New York as well as managing a gym in Philadelphia. He is a MMA fighter and after one of these fights, meets Cat, who had previously helped Annie and Dante. The two of them have an instant connection, but Cat is resistant to Carter’s charms as she has a daughter and her own ghosts to take care of and never having a guy she could rely on. This is also the first time Carter finds himself pursuing someone, having never been a guy who wanted to settle down after seeing his mom struggle with finding a loving relationship.

I really loved the couple, both individually and together. Cat is strong, smart, and sassy. She has worked hard to provide for her daughter, Ivy, and always puts others first. She is lucky to have a supportive sister, Maggie, and colleague, Ian, as she tries to deflect her past and move forward. She is also very open and willing to speak her mind. I also liked how she doesn’t give in right away. She is definitely the lioness Carter sees her as.

Carter himself always seemed light-hearted but serious when he needed to be. I am glad we got more of his background in this story as well, fleshing out his character. He is also a complete teddy bear when it comes to Cat and Ivy, both cuddly but also fiercely protective. He also has a strong awareness of others around him, able to detect when the atmosphere subtly shifts and knowing when he does something wrong and trying hard to make things right.

The two of them together are adorable and show they were ultimately made for one another. You could totally tell they were meant to be the moment Cat steps into Carter’s exam room. They appreciate each other’s strengths and weaknesses, and while they have some ups and downs, they work together to sort things out and display a partnership. Their relationship is definitely filled with passion, trust, humility and rainbows.

I also loved the side characters. Ivy is sassy like her mother and a walking encyclopedia. The references to animals was a nice touch and foundation to the couple’s relationship; I would contribute the couple’s connection partly due to Ivy. Benji, as Carter’s best friend from childhood, is also applaudable. He is the one who dragged Carter to the hospital where Cat was, when normally Carter doesn’t bother seeing doctors. Benji also proves to be a great confidante (though he might not keep it to himself when it involves the other half) and looks after our main couple. Maggie is a great sister to Cat, allowing her and Ivy to stay with her and helping Cat to move forward and take risks. Ian is also protective of Cat and brings humor to this story. We also see the return of Sebastian, Goldie, Dante, Annie, and Nico, as there are threats in New York from the senator election.

In terms of villains, the author did a great job with making me dislike them with the way they treated others and tried to carry out their plans. I wholeheartedly detested them.

I also enjoyed how the plot moved and the twists weaves in, intersecting storylines and letting the characters really shine. I honestly was hugging myself at times and tearing up during the sad and endearing moments. I really felt for our main couple and everything they were going through personally. Overall, I am gushing about how much I enjoyed this book.

And we are back on track.

This is Carter, Catherine (cat), and little Ivy's story.
We briefly met Cat in book 2 with Annie and Dante. Cat is a doctor who was paid by Dante to look after Annie.
Carter, being Sebastian's no.3 and chosen little brother to him, and Dante has basically moved to Philly to open a gym and continue his underground MMA career.

The opening chapters were chaos and just great. Carter has been slightly hurt from his last fight. And his best friend Benji is going a little crazy trying to get Cat to treat him after Dante has told him to.
Carter and Cats attraction is instant, but we get some build to it rather than the cliche 2 days later love stories.

Cat has some issues in her past with her awful father and ex-boyfriend and unfortunate father of Ivy. The drama relating to this is well done. They were heartbreaking and suspenseful.

Ivy is just adorable. And I'm so glad she wasn't written as a afterthought in most scenes. It was written really well.

We got a good amount of grovelling from Carter early for not just Cat but Ivy too, which was so adorable to read.

We got a good scene with Cat with the other 2 FMCs in the series. Goldie and Annie, that wasn't just off page.

Only really small things that were missing for me:
1. Maggie's husband and daughter seemed to be forgotten a lot, which seemed strange.
2. Did Carter ever fix the leaking tap???
3. Are Ian and Donovan a thing now??
4. Since Cat had an official restraining order for Daniel, why did she never call the police? And why didn't Donovan advise her to? And wouldn't that have been found by the media when he announced running for senator? I would have thought they would question why she would be engaged if she had an active order against him. And in Sebastian's research, he never saw it?
5. I was also a little confused because I thought in the other 2 books, Carter was the tech guy?

All around, I really enjoyed this book.
Cat was a strong woman who didn't give up her career for a man. But she was also able to accept help when she needed it.

Onto Nicos story to round out the series.

A family by MeemsAngel82

Why oh why did I skip right from book one to this one?! Ugh, I was so impatient! I will be going back to read every book in this series, most definitely. The writing is well done as the plot and I truly care about this rough group of men. I was so happy that our guy here found a female that made him so happy. In turn, I am so happy that this incredibly strong woman finally got the solid support that she's always needed.

She wanted away from her father and the father of her child. She tried and they still wanted from her. She found a safe place in Carter's arms, could she truly stay there?

I didn't like the mindset of the Men of NY on coming through so many women. I am so mad at myself for not going in order but will be going back for the other books. However this book didn't have OW thankfully! He is a man who found his family and he needed and deserved softness. I was so happy he could be the one to protect and reach for his woman and her daughter. I in fact am a greedy little thing and wanted more of his getting to know them moments because they were so sweet and genuine. This poor h. How scary and sad it was that her dad and the father of her child-don't worry folks, no love there, was so cruel. She did what she could and I was so emotional about him thinking lesser of himself and her doubting her worth. Ivy was an absolute delight. Carter bonding with her just mushed my insides in a good way. I do wish that her evil father and father of her child had public humiliation coming to them and then harsher consequences. There are most definitely consequences for the most part but they deserved worse than an eye for an eye. Sebastian bringing this mom and daughter into his family was wonderful. I look forward to all books in this great series and am just so pleased at this little family's togetherness.

This is part of the Men of New York series each book can be read as a standalone yet connect via characters with an alpha who controls all and the girl, he never thought would take his heart without his control 😊. Carter sexy as all get out mafia enforcer, MMA fighter who has won all his fights thus far, has been through a lot which ultimately directed his path and ensured he never back down from a fight good, bad, ugly, or pretty he was coming out on top life taught him that. Catherine intelligent, head of the emergency department became a doctor against all odds considering she wasn’t raised in the best home environment, abused by those she was supposed to be able to trust, a single mom, and has learned through strength not to put up with anyone’s BS. So, when they met in the second book the attraction is instant, it is intense, and the magnetic pull can’t be ignored but Cat hasn’t had a good life or a positive view of men considering what she has been through so giving him an honest chance isn’t really happing for her especially being the soul provider, protector for her baby girl. But for the first time Carter found someone worth spending time to convince they can be something more he is willing to do what needs to be done to make things right when he is wrong and fate has ensured they are made for each other making it hard for either of them to walk away from each other they compliment each other’s strengths and weakness and everything they have been through made them stronger but will they finally see what has been right in front of them all along, will she give him a chance, will either of their past come back to haunt them, and can they find happiness?.

This is the third book in the series, while you could still enjoy reading the book without having read the others I think you will enjoy it more and have a better overall picture reading the other two. And bonus the other two are great reads. From outward appearances Carter is a big rough guy, but in actuality he is a kind hearted guy. Catherine aka Cat is a polished doctor and single mother. She appears to have an idealistic life, but in actuality her life is anything but. Carter is intense about those he cares for i.e. his brothers, friends and Cat as soon after he meets her. The chemistry between the two of them is steamy and when they do end up in "bed" together its very hot. The story has violence and action, he's an MMA fighter so there are a few fight scenes. There is a little humor and lightness to the story, especially when Cat's daughter is around. There is tons of turmoil and a little suspense. Turmoil surrounds Cat and her daughter and it is also where the suspenseful moments come in. Things aren't all smooth sailing in Cat and Carters relationship, there's a bump in the road and I think he does some great "groveling." I found myself smiling during nearly that whole portion of the book. I enjoyed reading this book and am glad I started the series.

They just keep getting better

I am new to Samantha Skye books and started this series just a few days ago. I am devouring it. These stories are absolutely, positively unputdownable. Just when I think they can't possibly get any better they do.

Carter Grange is now one of my top five book boyfriends. He is strong, protective, loyal, loveable and smoking hot. His interactions with Cat are swoonworthy but it's his interactions with her daughter, Ivy aka Little Cub that will melt your heart.

Cat was brilliant, brave and beautiful. Nothing beats a story with a strong heroine and Cat did not disappoint.

The supporting characters are also fabulous and added to the flow of the story. It was nice to have the main characters from previous books make appearances and the new characters were so much fun. Maggie was the perfect sister and I wish I had friends like Ian and Benji who had me laughing out loud at times then sighing at their protectiveness.

The story itself unfolds flawlessly with the perfect balance of action, angst, suspense and spice.

I cannot wait to read Nico's book next.

ARC Review of My Fight by Samantha Sky
* * * * *
A sweet mafia romance that is giving me so many dramatic family tied moments!

Carter was just having an off night, and it didn't help that his personal self made bodyguard was causing trouble. Sitting in a hospital bed, he can't wait until he can get out...until that doctor walks in.
Catherine was a single mother managing her time between her daughter Ivy and her job at the hospital. She made a deal sometime ago that now has her coming in at the request to see a very handsome patient.
Carter is hot and well mannered and doesn't see her as just a piece of meat.
But she doesn't have the time for whatever drama he can bring.
She still has to deal with her crazy ex and her abusive father. They are wanting her back in their clutches.
Even as fate would have it, Carter is the man to help her. To make her child feel safe. To make her want more.
He will protect her.
Even if she's his dark side to do it.

Love all the sweetness! Ivy is adorable and love how this plot usually had the hero falling for the little angel.
Justice is served hard!

Let me get this out of the way, My Fight is the first book I've read from Samantha Skye so I went in open minded, especially after the author's note at the start of the book.

I liked Catherine. She was savvy and smart and doing her best to make a brighter future for her and her daughter, Ivy. She thought she found found the path, until one fighter landed in her ER and shook things up.

I liked that Carter was thrown off his game by the good doctor. Especially when fate threw them back together. There was no denying their chemistry. These two steamed it up all over the place. But more than that, Cat brought out Carter's softer side, the side that longed for a simpler life. If only they could get ahead of the mess happening in NY.

The final third of this book, as all the pieces fell into place, had my heart pounding. Can you say dark and twisted? Whew! Catherine and Carter's opposites attract romance was steamy and scandalous. While I would've liked to feel a bit more of the emotional connection between them I was glad things ended the way they did for them.

I suspected Cat and Carter would become involved during Dante’s book and I’m so glad they did. This was my favorite read so far, which is hard to believe because I love Sebastian and Goldie, Dante and Little Red.
I know the bad guys are supposed to be bad, but when you sexy alphas who are a million times better than the supposed good guy…I want that mafia man standing next to me.
Both Cat and Carter have been through so much in their lives. Cat has been abused by both the men in her life and Carter struggled to survive his until Sebastian stepped in. Carter becomes the first man to love and protect Cat and he does so epically. The connection between these two is combustible.
After giving Dante so much crap about falling for Annie, it was great to see him fall. That big bad alpha was brought to his knees and lit my kindle on fire.
I need a big alpha like Carter in my life!.

Loving this series!
And I know I’m probably repeating myself but they just keep getting better!!

Carter is the one Sebastian sends if there’s a ‘message’ that needs to get across, and I’ll definitely would not like to be in the receiving ending!!
He’s also a MMA fighter and after a fight he needs medical attention. His best friend will only allow Dr. Wakeford to attend to him.

Catherine move to Philadelphia to get away. But she knows she’s on borrow time, and unless she takes action she won’t ever really be free.

Ivy’s character is just LOVABLE!! And I learned a thing or two from her! 😁

Characters that I really love besides the main ones was Benji and Ian, and hopefully they get a story too!

I can’t wait for Nico’s story…. and by the looks of it he’s gonna end with the sister of….. 🤫

My first read from the author and fall in love with her writing style.

Jam packed with sizzling chemistry, i love how Cat and Carter's chemistry flow.
The smegsi scenes are hot! Carter was a bit of an a$* on the after, but he redeemed so very good.
Ivy is a gem. Love her cute Quirk with animals facts.
But how old is Ivy? I couldn't remember the author mention it. Or Cat's or Carter's age 🤔
Might not feels important to some, but I remember this book said reverse age gap, but I don't get that vibe from H/h. And for Ivy, I wonder how old she is for sometimes she sounds too mature and sometime she sounds like a 6 or 8🤔
But, overall, although this book is part of a series, I jumped right in and didn't feel like missing a thing. Definitly putting other books from this author as must read.

Even though this is book 3 in the series, it can be read as a standalone. You met both Carter and Cat in the previous books and I am so glad they get their own story.

Carter, is the mafias enforcer. He does want no one else wants to do. He is also a MMA fighter, and runs every match that he is in. Cat is a very successful doctor and single mom. She has had a rough life, but that hasn't stopped her. When the two of them meet...sparks, instant connection. But they are from two different worlds.

I really enjoyed the two of them together. Cat was the type of woman Carter needs, strong and not willing to put up with any bs. Carter is tough, but knows in order to get Cat he needs to show her his soft side. They had a lot to work through, but they did not. They had some challenges, but I loved how they worked through everything.

This is the third book in this amazing series, and this is Carter and Catherine / Cat’s journey. Carter is an MMA fighter and a mafia enforcer, while Cat is a single mom and doctor who leads a fine team in a busy ER department. When Carter is brough into the ER a bit banged up, there is an instant attraction between Cat and the tattooed fighter. When Cat’s past is sniffing at her heels, Carter is determined to protect and keep her and her daughter safe by any means necessary. These two may be opposites, and the chemistry is explosive, but they complement each other perfectly. This is a well written story which has suspense, danger, intrigue, twists, trust action, violence, turmoil, tension, and love, which lead to a riveting and addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

I love MMA stories and this story too. This is the third book in the Men of New York series. It is the story of single mother Catherine who is a doctor and leads a team in the emergency room, when Carter who is an MMA fighter and also works for the Mafia comes to the emergency room. The interaction between them is great as is the attraction and chemistry between them. At first glance, you don't think they fit together, but opposites can attract and it clicks completely. There is a lid for every pot. We find out what Carter can do when Catherine's past catches up with her and he does everything he can to protect her and keep her safe. There is enough action, tension, danger. romance and twists and turns and much more. This is definitely a must read.

They save each other.

Gym owner and mob fighter, Carter meets single mom, Dr. Catherine, after he gets beat up in an underground fight. She has a past with this particular mob from NY, so they ask for her specifically. They fall head-over-heels for each other instantly but respective of their backgrounds are leery of each other. Carter falls hard and fast for "his girls"- Cat and precocious little Ivy and saves them from the horror they're living. I loved this story even though I try to avoid mafia stories. As long as the men are basically good men and only hurt evil bad guys, I can overlook most things in my fiction. I don't really have any cons except for a few grammar errors. I do recommend this book and will keep reading. Now I need to go back and get the first two books. 😉

I’ve read all the books in this series and enjoyed them - well, the stories with similar book covers, they don’t appear to be labeled as a series but I’m guessing they are. This story was enjoyable about Carter and Cat. This pair is definitely opposites attract - one rich, one poor. Like her father, Cat grew up and became a doctor and even though she accomplished this she was expected to be a trophy wife (don’t think so). Carter was given a new life and saved from the streets by the mafia. He is loyal to them and made them his adopted family. Events arise that cause Cat's to feel threatened from her past. I loved the suspense - an enjoyable read.

My Fight by Samantha Skye is book Three in the Men of New York Series. This is the story of Catherine 'Cat' and Carter. I have read the previous books which added to my enjoyment of this one.
Carter is a MMA fighter along with being a part of the Mafia which has lead him to not having to work for a women. Catherine is a single mom to a daughter along with being in charge of the ER at her hospital. Along with that she has had to overcome a bad hard past so trust is a issue for her along with have to look over her shoulder for that past to come back. So when she meets Carter there is an attraction but she has to fight it and Carter has to work for a women for the first time. Enjoyed and I hope to read more from this author!

Emotional seesaw! Carter never wanted to get close to anyone; he just wanted to win fights and work for his mob family. Catherine, although a successful doctor, was continuously under attack from her former boyfriend and daughter's father as well as her father. When Carter and Cat meet, the attraction is instant; however, Carter thinks he is not good enough for Cat and Ivy (her daughter), even though Cat doesn't want anyone else! The seesaw of emotions the characters go through while they work through their relationship keeps you reading to see what happens next!.

This book three of Men of New York about Carter and Cat are from opposite sides of the track. Cat grew up with wealth, became a doctor like her father, but was expected to be the trophy wife. Carter was given a new life and saved from the streets by the mafia and feels they are his family. Carter thinks he is not good enough for Cat and Ivy (her daughter), even though Cat doesn't want anyone else! This is Carter and Catherine's story. Carter is a MMA fighter and also works for mafia and when he gets badly injured he meets Catherine who is a doctor and a single mother. The story was captivating with twist and turns which kept me hooked to the story in need to find out what would happen next. This is a new to me author and I really enjoyed the authors writing style. I will definitely be checking out the previous two books in this series and looking fwd to reading more books by this author.

“The room feels smaller with the two of us in it.”

Definitely an opposites attract book I loved Carter and Cat. They are not a couple anyone would expect but they are actually perfect for each other as they really bring out the best in one another. This is not a typical Mafia romance. Carter is tough on the outside but a bit of a softie inside and Cat is strong and sassy. I loved their interactions and watching their relationship develop. I almost hated for it to end but happily more books in this series will follow.

The story of Cat and Carter was super intense!! From the violence in the ring and in the streets, the author made all of the characters jump off the page and play their roles perfectly. The evilness of it all was cringe-y and made my emotions play along with what was going on. I loved Ivy and her fun facts and that her and her mom finally found what they didn't know they needed. The blasphemy and references to homosexuality along with the other potty language took away from the rating, but the story is solid.

This series gets better and better.

I love Cat and Carter's relationship.

Cat is a Badass FMC and doesn't put up with crap from anyone, including the mafia guys.

Carter is a real cinnamon roll when it comes to those people that he loves, especially Cat and her daughter

Watching their relationship blossom was amazing. I could have read so much more of their relationship, just like I could with Sebastian and Goldie, and Dante and Annie.

Speaking of Dante, I love how protective he is of Cat due to her being Annie's Doctor and the reason they met in the first place

Carter was always so intriguing. He was a fighter which helped free his anger from the life he grew up in and working for Sebastian was what he wanted to do because Sebastian saved him when he was young.

Cat is in need of saving. Her father is a rotten human being and her ex boyfriend is ba complete and total dirt bag. But she will do anything she has to for her daughter.

Carter and Cat's chemistry is off the charts and Ivy is absolutely a show stealer. I absolutely loved this story and the love of this couple.
