Can he ever trust again? When Clyde McCoy took the lead in finding the serial killer targeting his pack, he had no idea he was looking for his twin. Three bitter years later, the ghosts of his brother’s evil deeds still haunt him. The nightmares make sleep almost impossible until he meets Lena. Her calm presence and sweet smile chase the shadows away but aren’t enough to erase his guilt.
As soon as Lena Adams found out she was pregnant, she ran. From her ex, from her mistakes, but also from her future. She wasn’t ready to be a single mom, but fate had other plans. Now she’s hiding out in her brother’s pack while her belly swells along with her ankles. Can she accept help from a dark, brooding stranger? Or will she run from him too?
Early labor is the least of her worries when she finds out her abusive ex is looking for her. Can Clyde keep Lena and her children safe? Or will he fail them like he’s failed so many others?
This book contains sexual themes and violence that is intended for audiences 18 and older.
Heather MacKinnon is a USA Today best-selling romance author living in North Carolina with her husband, adorable son, and three trouble making dogs. She grew up on Long Island and spent her young adult years living in various states in New England. This led to her subsequent addiction to Dunkin’ Donuts lattes and her gratuitous use of the word “wicked”. After a lifetime of enjoying other people’s words, she decided to write down some of her own.
I really enjoyed Clyde's book. And the end broke me some how. Now nothing can seems to satisfy me. 😌 Heather Mackinnon what did you do to me😛😂 hihihi. I love the worldbuilding, wonderfull characters 😍 ❤️ hihihi And I'm sad this was the last book!
This book is the last of the Southern Werewolves Enforcer series. I have loved everyone of the books in this series, but this one is the best of all. Heather Mackinnon definitely came full circle with this book and when I tell you she ended it beautifully I really mean it. Clyde has always held a special place in my heart. From the moment he was introduced in the book Shift (the book that started it all) until his story was told in this book, I have rooted for him to get the ending he deserved. The author delivered in more ways than one. Very few books have made me cry, but this one did. All the characters throughout this series have felt like more than just made up ones to read about. Heather Mackinnon made them come alive and made it feel like these were people who were part of your family or at least ones you would want to be family. I don't want to giveaway anything in the book, because that would be taking away a readers chance to possibly see the things I did and felt. If you haven't picked up this series go do so. You will not regret it. There are funny moments, ones that are steamy, dangerous moments and best of all the moments that touch your heart. Thank you Heather for giving your readers such a wonderful series and especially for giving Clyde the story he always deserved!
I have loved every single Southern WereWolf Enforcer Book that Author Heather MacKinnon has released. Clyde was no Exception, This one Blew it out of the Park for a book of Fiction. It shed the light on what some of us carry from our Past and how we have to fight to overcome the Sins of the Father and Brother. We can't continue to live in the past but to keep trekking forward to the other side in the storms that life throws at us.
Clyde McCoy, a once outgoing wolf, has now let the light that was once in his life darken from a past he can't seem to escape from. The sins of the Father and all that, but soon a bright light will shine to light his darkened path leading him to where he needs to be, but that path is struck with obstacles that may cause him to rethink what his next move should be, will Clyde follow the light or will he allow the darkness to swallow him whole.
Lena Adams a meek and mild wolf is tired of running and hiding, with the newfound birth of her sons, can Lena find the strength in this new pack to stand and fight for not only her lives but that of her sons and possibly the man she is fated to be with. Can Lena keep shining her light for the one who needs it the most or will she let the future slip from her grasp along with everything that is and could be her future?
This series is what I would call "shifter light": all the characters are wolf shifters but the reference and impact of that fact on the stories are minimal, other than the "fated mates" element. Nonetheless, the books are well written, well-paced, steamy enough and overall very enjoyable.
Although the entire series- is described as a standalone, it is very much part of an over-arching world and therefore there are a few missing bits of information and explications. It doesn't stop you from following and enjoying the book but if you're not a fan of open-ended references and loose facts, you probably want to start back with the "original" interconnected series (Southern Werewolves).
Because I haven't read any other book in the interconnected series of the author's over-arching world, Clyde and Lina both came as complete strangers and I really wondered how they fitted in the scheme of the rest of the series. It is eventually more or less explained although I do feel that Clyde's book is the one that most requires the reader to have read the other series.
The whole pregnancy trope isn't usually a favorite of mine and I did loose a bit of interest in the character because I was missing too much background so overall this book is my last favorite in the series.
In another enforcer story, this one is about Clyde~ I am so happy he got a great story and happiness. His character truly suffered~ Lena is about to give birth to twin boys, and Clyde has watched her from afar for months knowing they are fated. When he stumbles upon her in labor, everything changes for the two of them~ She has been attracted to Clyde from the beginning as well but has done nothing about it, yet. He stays with her throughout her birthing process and after. He dedicates himself to being there for her and her boys…loving every moment. They are many, many funny moments in the book that will remind mothers of certain hilarious moments they experienced with newborns~ I was actually snorting laughing, and chuckling so hard reading some of those moments~ Trouble is brewing for the couple though…and it is a doozy~ This is another great example of how dedicated Heather MacKinnon puts her characters in some real-life situations that bring out the “human” in them, which makes them relatable and life-like~ Thank you, Heather, for giving us another extraordinary book from you werewolf world~
I lived this last book in the Southern Enforcers series. Clyde has been sitting in the back of my brain since the Southern Werewolves books so I'm happy that his story wraps it all up.
Our guy is so tortured because of the evil his family perpetuated that it did my heart good to see him find his fated mate. Him becoming insta-dad to our heroine's twins is so sweet. And, of course, he helps her when she's in danger proving he's as awesome as we all know he is.
If you only read one book in this series (shame on you they're so good!) this is the one to read. There are several moments in this book that truly touched me and I'm sad to see the series end but I can't wait to see what comes next!!

Clyde is my favorite enforcer and Heather did not disappoint with this book! Clyde is drowning in his own guilt and feels like he would be a dark cloud to Lena's sunshine. Lena has her own guilt that she is trying to deal with as well as trying to figure out how to juggle her new babies. This book is a huge page turner, each chapter captivated me more than the previous. I can't wait to see what the author comes up with next!
This is one of the sweetest stories I have read in a long time! If you love the sloooow burn if a relationship this book is for you. Clyde is a gentleman through and through. He not only struggles to see his worth but puts her needs above all else. A true prince charming. I love strong men who treat their women like princess's but let them have independence as well. These two come together in an explosive way after the fire builds! It is truly worth the wait!
I couldn’t wait to read this! Did not disappoint, I couldn’t put it down once I started. With everything that’s happened in Clyde’s past he finally got the ending he deserved. I love Lena and Clyde’s sense of humor in this as well. You could read this as a stand alone but I’d HIGHLY suggest Shift, Sisters Series, and the other Enforcers books as well. When you read all of them you really get to know all the characters and how they overlap, it’s makes you feel like you’re a part of their world.
This is the last book in this series and let me tell you this was a very sweet and cute. The connection between Clyde and Lena was great, the way that the relationship starts and how it evolves was fantastically done. Clyde respects Lena in every way and tries to make the best not just for her but for her babies, he's there all the way in every step. A great way to end this series and my favorite of all 6.
Abandoned by his mother, abused by his father, fooled by his serial killer brother, Clyde doesn't feel that he deserves any happiness. Enter Lena and he's thrown into parenthood and a relationship he keeps fighting against until he can't fight it anymore. Along comes the abusive ex who in the end gets what he deserves. There is so much more to this book but you must read it to find out what happens!!!
Clyde & Lena: this book was ok for me. definitely funnier than the previous books. Lena has been living at the Asheville pack lands all during her pregnancy and while there she developed an attraction to enforcer Clyde only he doesn't to know she exists. Clyde has known since he first saw Lena the very day she came on to pack lands that she was his mate
Omg! You gotta read Clyde! It was soo good I finished it in one night! I loved it!! I love the plot and the action . Just when I thought I had to honestly skip to get to the good part, I didn't! The flow of the writing was on point ! And I loved how Lena was a bad ass mom!!
I have loved reading all the books in this series and hate to see them end. It seems like the characters were so real. I could keep on reading but unfortunately this was the end.
This was a good series it was well written, a good line up of characters to pull from and a humor, a little action. It was also very repetitive the plot line was boy love girl, girl love boy, girl must sacrifice herself for boy, so on and so on.
This was a good fated mates paranormal romance. They are not aware of their fated connection, so it mostly plays out like a paranormal romance with spice and some danger. A good read.
