Winter's Promise is the third installment of the Her Guardians series. In it, you will see Winter and her mates going through some challenges. Winter has to battle against an evil queen who wants to be mated to Atti. Of course, she wins.. but damn, did she go through a lot.

I also love all of her mates and the smut was so freaking good. Winter is definitely growing more on me but I did find it a bit ridiculous that she just happened to become a bad ass rather suddenly. Especially with the whole no training bit. I did roll my eyes maybe once or twice.. but then I was just thinking.. well, maybe she's so powerful because of her mates and that's the reason she was such a bad ass during dire moments.

Again, just a theory but it might be right.

Then there's that ending, which I had no idea was coming. I still think the whole demon king bit is interesting and I wonder what the hell is going to happen with him. Seriously hoping he doesn't want to mate with her.. because isn't she like his granddaughter or whatever? maybe daughter? I've lost all track of that weird family tree.

Other than all of that, I loved freddy and wyatt's little bonding moments. I can't wait to see what's going to happen next with their family.

I received Winters promise as a beta copy.
It's no secret that I am in love with this series. Thankfully G.bailey has totally delivered with Winters Promise, and I am wrecked, because I need book 4 now!!

Everything Winter has ever known about her life is being challenged, the demons are making life more and more complicated at every turn and Winter is being faced with a whole new set of trials, of both the physical and psychological nature. There are some twists you don't expect and some truly spectacular reveals that blow you away.

I loved Winter more in this book than any other; she really came into herself. Winter stepped up to the plate when her mates and their people needed her. She took every hit in her stride and didn't act like a damsel, or a stubborn ass.

I love the princes!!!! Why are they all so perfect! I cannot pick between them at all, Jax's raw intensity and power, Wyatts protectiveness and devotion, Dab's intelligence and kindness and Atti's gentleness and sensitivity. All of them grow in maturity and wisdom in this book I think, in large part due to Winter challenging their preconceived notions. I also really enjoyed that we got to see their interactions without winter present. Seeing their friendship was really nice, it makes you take a step back and recognise that this isn't the typical RH story, all the men are best friends and have known their whole lives that they would share a women. No jealousy drama welcome here!

One again Freddy is an absolute sweetheart, he is growing in maturity so fast, but still acts like the little lost boy when he is around Winter. Their friendship is beautiful. I'm glad that Freddy and Wyatt finally had a talk. However, I am so protective over Winter, and I almost want to kick Wyatt in the shins because at times, the way he talks about Demi, makes me feel like Winter is the runner up (even though I know it's not the case and I'm being completely illogical haha)
Leigha is once again, one of the best protectors I could have ever imagined for Winter, She's just so badass!!!
Harris, you big cutie! He is going to make such a good Beta!!!

For those of you dying for a Dab and Atti sexy scene with winter, this book does not disappoint!!! All intimate scenes in this book are beautiful and mean something deeper than just taking it to the next step. Not to mention it is hot!

The ending though.....completely wrecked me!!! Not because it's sad but because you are screaming for Winter to just..just.. I can't even finish this sentence with out giving it away!!!! But suffice to say, I'm dying without the next book!!

At the end of book 2, Winter accidentally released the Demon King. While they wait for him to make his move, Winter decides to help Atti regain his throne. She must complete 3 trials that the Dark Witch Queen creates. Winter and the guys also continue to research the past and the prophecy that involves them all.

I'm enjoying this series. We finally got to know Atti a little better in this book and have a few more breadcrumbs about Dabriel too. As far as non-romantic plots, Winter has a lot of work cut out for her in the next book. It will be interesting to see how she accomplishes it. I'm expecting it to be all out war. Smut factor is just a 3 out of 5 for this one. Average.

Part three of this awesome series and I am falling even more in love with it as the story unfolds

Winter learns more about her family history and where she comes from which creates more questions and gives hints to her future.

We also see more of her guardians, especially Dabriel and Atti, we learn more about these two in this book, and we see her relationship with them develop and deepen. I am not going to say anymore as it do not want to leave inadvertent spoilers!

This book is packed with action, adventure, danger and romance, the story continues to flow through beautifully at a great pace. I am so in love with this series, I get very excited (in a happy way) whilst reading it and I highly recommend this book and the entire series, G Bailey is a very talented writer and there are not enough words to explain how awesome this series is

***This is totally unladylike review filled with swearing and shit. If you don't want to read a review with a bunch of swearing move on to the next one. Sorry not sorry.***

*internally crying* FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK! That fucking ending. I am totally wrecked! WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT! I would probably DIE if I had to wait for the release of the 4th book. Someone would find me dead on my bed or on the floor or somewhere else really un-fucking-cool to die because of having to wait for the next book. But lucky me, it's already out! So I don't have to die. :D

Anywho, this book totally crushed me! I fucking loved it! Winter has finally mated to all the guys! YASSSSSS! Fucking fuck yes!

And even though I feel like some stuff was just done in a passing glance I still loved the story and how everything played out. What I'm saying is her training for the fights against the fake witch queen. It's like she didn't train for it at all. She always fell into a dream-call and then woke up on the day of the battle without training and then fucked shit up in the battle. Which I mean is fine because Winter is apparently a fucking badass. But still. Damn near no training? But whatevs.

And that dragon! I can't wait to see what is gonna happen with that dragon! He said he will repay that debt! So he is obviously gonna come fuck shit up in the final book!

And the guys! Omg the guys! I love them all. And definitely will never choose which I like best. Because I just can't choose. I do think that one of them is going to die. Because one has to be her savior, right? I hope not. But that seems logical. -.-

I love love love this series. Going to read now. Bye. :D

This book was amazing. Winter grows before our eyes as the queen she's meant to be. Her relationships with all her mates blossom and grown strong together. Winter's past comes to light with all the unexpected twist and turns. This book was mostly about Atti. I love all her men and they get their friendship back. The demon king shows up and changes the game. The cliffhanger at the end killed me. I can tell this is a book I will definitely be rereading.

For whatever reason, the somewhat juvenile prose that is typical of this author (as best I can tell - at least it is typical of this series) felt a bit worse / more frustrating in this book. I'm not sure if that's just because I'm powering through the series and so I feel a bit saturated with it, or if it really was worse here. I'm not talking about a boatload of grammatical issues, but more the ... overly simplistic phrasing, or repeating words in a sentence (like "he meant to tell her what he meant by that").

That said, I really do like these characters, and the unfolding of the prophecy and Winter's story. This one ends on a bit of a cliffhanger though, so heads up. Happily, the next one is already out.

Book 3 of the Her Guardians series did not disappoint! Ms. Bailey does a fantastic job of picking up right where she left off in Book 2.

Winter learns more about herself and her family history in this book. She finally sits down with her mom and finds out more about herself.

She spends a lot of time with Atticus and Dabriel in this book and I am happy that we got to know them as much as Jaxon and Wyatt. She still sees them, but the focus is more on the other two.

By the end of this book, 3 of the princes have been crowned King and more revelations have come about.

This book ends on a major cliffhanger, so be warned. You should be used to it by now if you've read the other 2 books. Luckily, Ms. Bailey is churning out books super fast so hopefully we aren't kept waiting too long!!!

Winter and her guardians journey continues in this third installment, Winter's Promise, and it does not disappoint! Secrets are revealed, alliances formed and thrones won, but most importantly war is beginning to be waged. Winter and the guys relationships are getting stronger but will it all be for nothing if the Demon King is victorious? You won't want to put this book down and you may need to prepare for a slight nervous breakdown when it comes to the end! Lucky for us the next book isn't too far away because I for one can't wait to read the stunning conclusion to Winter's tale!

Absolutely amazing!!'

In this book we learn more about Winter's family history, something I've been dying to know about since we found out her mom isn't her birth mother.

We also get to know more about Atticus and Dabriel as Winter spends more time with them. We get to watch their relationship start to blossom.

This book as action, romance, suspense. Is it time for more?

For some reason, Winter’s Promise took me longer than the other books to finish, even though it wasn’t much bigger page wise to my knowledge.

But even though it took me a bit longer, Winter’s Promise is a stunning continuation to G. Bailey’s Her Guardians series.

In this third novel, more is revealed to Winter about her family, and her relationship with her mates grows and deepens. Kudos to the author for writing such an amazing book, because I would recommend this to anyone who even remotely liked this genre! I couldn’t-and wouldn’t-put this down until I finished it.

Another win for Winter!

This book and series has an amazing plot along with an even more amazing cast of characters! I love Jaxson the most! But again-#why choose? I would love to get to know Dabriel, Wyatt, and Atti too! I adore Milo who has quite the quirky personality. Winter has awesome friends as well. I also can't wait to see what Harrison gets up to... if you are a fan of the reverse harem genre, then this is a must read series! I can't wait for Winter's War! Five glittery stars! A gem of a read!

The F word is way over used

Seriously if the author used other explicit words, I would give the book a higher rating. All of the characters don't need to use the f word.

Touch the book and be transported into a world that challenges imagination. A WINTER’S PROMISE by Christelle Dabos is a novel swept up in a deceptive plot, magnificent imagery and a strong-willed, unassuming heroine. Dabos’ debut novel is already a sensation where it was originally published in France, and will no doubt inspire the same reaction in readers here in the States. If you know who you are, dare to look into The Mirror Visitor, and see what you find on the other side…

In Anima, Ophelia is unaware of the sinister future that is soon to arrive. As a reader, someone who possesses the power to look back into the history of objects, the young misfit is perfectly content running her esteemed museum and spending time with her uncle. However, her years of blowing off suitors have finally come to punish her when she is trapped in a political marriage. Following her enigmatic fiancé, Thorn, to the freezing Pole, she is determined to stay true to her character despite the corruption others have suffered. As a mirror traveler, she has a strong sense of self, and she will not give it up. But she has a lot to learn about the dangerous life ahead of her, and to survive it, she will have to become more than a reader and a mirror traveler.
Dabos employs an abundance of imagination and creativity in designing the world of A WINTER’S PROMISE. With a brilliant combination of fantasy and science in this steampunk world, Dabos includes ingeniously thought out details pertaining to setting of this new “Ruptured” world, in which chunks of the earth float in arcs in the earth’s atmosphere. The powers of the different arcs and the history of the current world are slowly revealed through Ophelia’s perspective as she learns these facts for herself. With court-like socialization and the cunning politicization of the Pole, everything has a sense of gilded grandeur, where the beautiful illusions only warn of the darkness underneath.

If someone were to consider this novel thick, it is only because it has an elaborate and fully developed plot, setting and character. A fascinating and slowly brewing plot, the book will have readers constantly turning pages as the danger and mystery escalate. A little bit of humor in the beginning adds a lighter tone to the setting of Anima on which Ophelia previously lives. While there is less humor as Ophelia delves deeper into the threatening political game and the tension picks up, Dabos’ cleverness continues throughout the novel, making sure readers are constantly intrigued.

The tension between Ophelia and Thorn is palpable; both are as secretive as they are stubborn. While it is unknown whether she can trust her fiancé, she finds allies in the humblest and unlikeliest of places. They help her to look past illusions to find truth, including dispelling her own illusions. These characters are endearing in their own way, making the reader smile despite the paradoxical qualities of the higher socialites. Ophelia is endearing as well; her sneezing and coughing adds to her reality as a character. Often described to be small, she proves that physique is not everything; she, in her own unassuming way, is a force to be reckoned with. Even with the multitude of characters, each one is fully fleshed out and complex with motives and backstories, leaving their mark on both Ophelia and the plot.

While in the beginning it is difficult to understand Ophelia, readers will quickly grow to believe in her. Her first, most noticeable quality is her stoic appearance; however, she is by no means submissive or unemotional. While most modern female heroines would never be described as quiet, Ophelia has a soft-spoken strength which surprises both other characters and the reader. Some readers may confuse this with meekness, while truly it is a mark of her strong will and proves to be one of her greatest strengths. Clever, analytical and confident, she defies all expectations when it comes to facing conflict and choosing her battles. As Ophelia’s uncle proudly asserts, “To read an object requires forgetting oneself a little...traveling through mirrors, that requires facing up to oneself.” With her two gifts, Ophelia demonstrates that while others may give up their conscience to fight in the game they are required to play, she has the qualities that help her to stay true to herself and prevail.

A WINTER’S PROMISE is as gripping as it is beautifully imaginative. An amazing heroine, Ophelia proves that even when the world insists that one cannot stay true to oneself and survive, strength of character will prevail. Daring and spectacular, this is a novel to read under the covers, in spare time, whenever the chance arises; readers will not soon forget The Mirror Traveler.

Winter's Promise starts out with high tension and rarely lets up! This series just gets better and better. The Demon King has been raised with Winter's blood. He has taken over the body of the vampire king and now has the vampires under his control. He wants his demons to control the world.

If there was every any doubt, it's clear that Winter is the blue-sided human of the prophecy. She's coming into more power, her Princes have all fallen for her (and her for them). She's bonded with 2 of them and growing closer to completing the other two bonds. But war is coming. Will she be a savior or destroyer? There are so many complications in this book. Family drama. Winter is slowly learning about her family and the past through her dreams and a little help from a dark angel. Her grandfather is determined to destroy the world. Dabriel has a brother bent on stealing the kingdom away from him. Atti has suffered a huge family loss and now has a Dark Queen intent on ruling with Atticus by her side and in her bed. Only Jaxson is free of family drama, but he's already lost most of his family, so he's already faced the worst. There's constant danger from demons and Winter must face challenges to become the Queen Atti wants. I personally loved this part of the storyline. Winter is getting stronger and taking on more the role of the true Queen. She's also fully embraced her Princes. Jaxson and his rough edges and power continues to be my favorite, but Dabriel is closing in on him! I would have never though the straight-laced Angel could be so sexy! Atti and Wyatt frustrate me at times. They are great, but seem to pull away from Winter when they are hurting, rather than embrace her. Love is multi-faceted; they are great at protecting and flattering her, but when they hurt, they close her out. Love means sharing everything, the bad and the good. That's where the bonds strengthen. They will learn. I was thrilled with the guy time in this book. Their brotherhood makes them even more special to me. Their history, their friendship, their shared losses and ties to Freddie. This boy is such a sweetheart. I am thrilled with how everything played out. I will admit to not being a fan of his mother. I am jealous of Wyatt's continued love for her. Ridiculous, but it bothers me.

Milo gets a special mention here. This book had plenty of action, danger, suspense, pain, passion, and love. Milo brings the humor. His antics are hysterical. I will continue to indulge in brownies and milkshakes, but from now I will also get a giggle with my chocolate fix. Love this little mini-demon!

This book ends with a more devastating cliffhanger than the last book. I am left with so much worry. Even though it looks bad now, I believe that Winter will be the savior of the prophecy. However, at what price? I don't see everyone making it out alive. I have my theories on who will pay the ultimate sacrifice and hope that I am wrong. I can't wait for the conclusion of this series!

Winters Promise is the third book in the Her Guardians series by G. Bailey.

At the end of the last book we found out that Winter was in fact related to the Demon King, who is her grandfather. When a barrier goes up around all of Paris where the old Vampire castle resides after their narrow escape from death, our MC’s have to figure where to go from here. Not knowing if there are any survivors yet, or if the humans and vampires have been taken over by demons or simply killed of. While Dabriel attempts to bring the angels over to the right side, and save his race, Jaxson continues on his role as the new King of Wolves, and Wyatt helps to build back the survivors of this race at the old goddess estate, Winter goes with Atti to the lost city of Atlantis, which is the protected witch city, to help reclaim his throne. Things take a turn when they discover that Winter will be the one fighting for her Queendom from Taliana, the usurper dark witch Queen. She must face three battles; the opponents picked by the “Queen” and then the crown will be hers. The first fight involves a dragon which is a type of giant demon that Winter decides to free when she discovers who they’ve been treating it instead of killing the being. Following that she must face four elemental witches and survive, which she does with her force field type power. Lastly, the Queen herself faces off against her, Leigha, and Esta with two other witches. They defeat them, but at the cost of Esta’s life. In her dying breath she asks for forgiveness for being the one to lead to Fergus’ death.

In the reviews for all of these books I completely skipped over those dreams she’s been having, probably subconsciously saving them for this book, where they become more prominent. You learn here that she can “dream-call” something that is mentioned as something her mother could do through her demon side. She mostly called her families spirits to her in her dreams, until now when she calls a Fray to her in search of answers in how to defeat the demons when no weapons will touch them. And it takes more than one of their supernaturals to take down one demon. She ends up making a deal with Lily the Queen of the Fray to bring her a royal half Fray little girl, in exchange for weapons and 500 Fray to use them.

So much more happened in this book, even though it felt a little all over the place, having to jump back and forth between all the places the five of them are rulers over in trying to rebuild and protect all of their people. There was just so much more action.

In this 3rd book in the Her Guardians series you G Bailey, we get to see Winter start to really develop her powers, start taking ownership and leadership roles (as well as being crowned Queen of multiple supernatural races), and win over more of her people in her campaign to end this war. She also finally gets to have more alone time with all her mates (so many swoonworthy moments, I can’t pick my favorite!). Winter gets put in some horrible and deadly situation, but she perseveres with her internal strength and with the help of her mates. I ate this story up, especially by listening to it on audiobook. I also loved to see more of the story line with the side characters (I totally want a story with Harris and his mate!).

Winter learns more about her demon side and what the demon king has in store for everyone. She also learns more with her dream calling/dream memories. The pieces are finally coming together for the ultimate battle in Book 4 and I know its going to be epic!! So happy I waited to start this series when it was all completed. I would have gone crazy if I had to wait for Book 4 after reading Book 3 😅😍. Highly recommend this series, go read this now!

I loved this book! It was fast paced and constantly had my attention. I did not want to put it down for the life of me! G. Bailey just has a way of drawing you into her story and making scenes that would be boring in any other book capture your interest. I love her writing style and I will definitely be looking into her other series in the future. I only wish that she wouldn't end her books on cliffhangers as much because it is killing me to find out what is going to happen next. Luckily for me, I waited until all of the books came out for this series before I started it. Otherwise, I would be very unhappy to have to wait after all of these shocking cliffhangers that G. Bailey keeps writing. I am dying to know what is going to happen in Winter's War and I can't wait to start it. I already know that it is going to be a phenomenal ending to this great series.

Installment three of four

Big spoiler alert. Still saying there’s plenty of logic disconnects in the authors’ writing. This is one of those books and series where I’m glad I have Kindle Unltd.
The wolves help Atti hold the funeral for his mother. A few vampires escape the Demon King and Wyatt protects them in the Goddess’ castle.
Winter challenges the Witch Queen on behalf of Atti to gain respect for herself as Queen, and minimize deaths to help unite in the fight against the Demon King.
When the wolves are attacked, Wyatt makes the decision to move the pack to the Goddess’ castle, where the wards are more powerful.
Winter has her third and final match against the Witch Queen and kills Taliana; then crowning King Atticus. They finally mate; her mating marks are now complete and interconnected. But the dark witches have one final betrayal.
And we are left hanging in this third part of the serial.

2.5 honestly.

I really love the plot of this series. But the writing style does nothing for bringing the story to life. It isn’t immersive and there’s no grip or hold on tense parts.

The fight with the witch queen was over in about 3 pages(if that). There was no struggle for the character. No real growth in Winter either.

The story is very much “told” instead of “shown” (basic writing skills that need working on) and the descriptions feel very placed. Like the author has gone ‘ph I need to explain XYZ about this character so let me put it in right now’ so that character tells the reader what they need to know. This could have been done by explaining to Winter through dialogue so you see her knowledge grow as yours, the reader’s grows.

I was gonna try and stick at this series to see how it ends but I think the writing is just too bad to continue

2.5 Stars I was actually quiet disappointed with this book just because I thought from the setup of book 2 the payoff in book 3 would be better but honestly nothing really happened you learn a tiny bit of info more and really it focuses on the witches so each book has been garnering and having winter step into her queen title and acceptance by each supernatural group. While that is fine and it is still an interesting read I just feel that the books have been going at a snails pace and would really like to see some real action happen in book 4.

I really also do want to put out that I think G. Bailey is an amazing author I have read other series that are amazing so I'm not sure if its me or just I am not jiving with this series.
