this book was so boring i didnt even get the fmc's name right until the end💀 i was literally out here reading it as "lakelynn" when her name is "layken" (because that's not a mouthful😩)
This was BY FAR my favorite Rebels Havoc book yet!
Trey is a true rebel and living his best rock star life; drinking, playing shows, and finding his next hookup for the night. His night with Layken was supposed to be just another one night stand, but for some reason, he can't let her go after just one night. Layken knew what she was getting into hooking up with a rock star like Trey, but she too gets more than she signed up for.
I'm not entirely sure if I can pick why this was my fave book in the series so far. Part of it is probably because Trey is far sweeter than what his past appearances and experiences portray. Him and Layken are just the cutest couple with some of the hottest 🌶️spicy🌶️ scenes that hit all the marks for me. Not only that, but the amount of sweet gushy highlights I have is unsurmountable; like I said, Trey is so damn sweet to Layken. But don't let Layken's sweetness fool you; she is such a strong and bold woman who owns who she is - she fits in SO well with the other Rebel gals, Ivy and Kyla.
I have to admit, I was honestly looking forward to Trey's book the least because he was a newer member to the band and we don't really get to know him much in Tysin's book when he is first introduced. Well, other than him kind of being a dick to Tysin and being in the band by force of their record label. But looking back now I'm kind of kicking myself for not giving him a fair chance when I started his story! Especially because we get to pick up from a cross-over scene we get in Tysin and Kyla's book. It has me anxious now to see how Madden's story will pick up from where we end in Trey's.

*Thank you to the author for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review!*
"Trey" is the third in the A Rebels Havoc series and in truth (before I began reading), I just didn't know how Brooke O'Brien could possibly top "Brix" or "Tysin" - I mean seriously! Those books were intense, each with a great story, incredible characters, great music and some angsty and HOT sexy romance - even some hate romance.. but it was soooo good. In fact, I so enjoyed the first two books that I almost didn't want to start "Trey" because I didn't want to "leave" the characters in the first two books and have a new focus in the A Rebels Havoc series - so it was reluctantly that I began reading "Trey"... sounds silly, but when you feel so invested in a story and characters it almost feels like a betrayal when you leave them. But not to worry, I shared this all with Brooke herself (she laughed via DM), and I'm sharing it here because... "Trey" might just have taken the spot of my favorite in the series!!! And THAT my friends took my by surprise, because I never though Brooke could top "Brix"!!
Trey is the new guy in the band, and we didn't really glimpse too much of what he had going on in the background in the first two books - but boy do we get it here! And it really just makes us feel so much for him - we feel connected to him, we feel deep compassion for him, we feel attracted to him, and sure - we feel slightly judgy of him. How can we not? Enter Layken... I just want to say "awwww" when I think of her. She's so sweet and beautiful and honest, yet fierce. And of course - but of course - they are the perfect, albeit unlikely, pairing - and I love every minute of it! Their story is just... everything. Their attraction is fire, the chemistry off the charts, and it makes it so much more enticing in the story. Then the connection they share makes it all the more tug on your heartstrings. But the romance - the sexy parts - is just pure magical fire. Then an added bonus: there are so many lines in this book that will have you reading and re-reading - and re-reading.... oh yeah. So good.
One of the other aspects that I enjoyed in this book is the timeline of this story, and how we're seeing the band on tour from Trey's point of view - because it allows us to also glimpse Tysin and Kyla's story from a different angle. I love when stories in a series do this. The behind the scenes stuff adds such depth to the characters and the story for me, and I really enjoyed that with Trey.
For me, O'Brien hit it out of the park yet again. I love her writing - it is compelling and intriguing and has you hanging on every word. The worlds she crafts, especially in this Rebels Havoc series, is so vivid that you almost feel like you can hear the music playing, you can smell the tour bus, and you want to put on your own Rock n'Roll gear and show off your tats so you fit in with the band and characters - guys, can I hang out? Just be a fly on the wall and drink a beer with y'all? ... That's some compelling writing right there when it evokes such emotions. But her characters are just... so interesting! They are dynamic and complex. And so the story has you riveted and hooked. Sure she's hitting up some of the tropes that you'll find in the contemporary romance genre, but how SHE DOES IT sets her books apart from the rest. Her special sauce is what makes her books, like "Trey" stand apart from other similar books. And "Trey" will quite literally have you hooked from page 1, regardless of if you've read the first two books or not. As I mentioned above, I was so reluctant to start reading this because I almost didn't want to like Trey or Layken (all because of my loyalty to the previous characters and my love for them), buuuuuuut gosh-darn-it, they and this book just had me swooning and begging Brooke for more! Brooke, I need "Madden" right.effing.now!!! I need more of the A Rebel's Havoc world. It is truly addicting.
TREY is the third full-length instalment in Brooke O’Brien’s contemporary, adult A REBEL’S HAVOC erotic, rock star romance series. This is musician Trey Whitt, and hair and make-up artist Layken Grant’s story line. TREY can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Trey and Layken) TREY follows in the aftermath of a one-night stand between our leading couple.Trey Whitt couldn’t remember the woman’s name with whom he spent a glorious night but discovering she was a virgin threw our hero for a loop. Desperate to find the woman that stole his heart, Trey would come face to face with Layken Grant at their next concert in town, a concert in which Trey would claim Layken as his own. A few weeks will past when Layken discovers she is pregnant with Trey’s child, a pregnancy that is revealed to the media before our heroine has a chance to tell Trey, herself. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Layken and Trey, and the potential fall-out as Trey’s temper often overrides all good intentions.
Layken Grant went to school with our story line her but Trey doesn’t remember the woman with whom he is falling in love having struggled to forget about much of his past. Trey and Layken grew up in abusive and neglectful households but Layken had always offered Trey her help whenever he needed.
The relationship between Layken and Trey is one of immediate attraction; a one-night stand in which Trey does not know her name, and Layken finds herself doing the walk of shame in front of the band. Neither one can forget about their one night together, and in this, Trey is determined to find Layken and claim her as his own. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word, used only once, more for shock value than anything else.
We are reintroduced to A Rebel Havoc’s band: Madden Cole, Brix Ward and Ivy Thomas, Tysin Briggs and Kyla Cole, as well as Layken’s best friends Kate and Rhys.
TREY is a story of family, friendships, fame and love. The premise is entertaining and captivating; the characters are charismatic and lively; the romance is seductive and passionate-the conflict is limited.
Trey, Trey, Trey...there is always one in a group who throws me for a loop and this story was it!! Trey completely captured my heart and he never has to give it back!!
Trey did not grow up with the other members of A Rebels Havoc, he was a new addition right before their newest tour. It's not to say he's new to playing or new to touring, he's just new to a band who's been tight for years. We didn't know much about Trey aside from Tysin held some animosity towards him, but Trey was basically this new shiny toy to play with. Or maybe like a sinful and slightly used one...anyway...I'm rambling. The thought of Trey, sin, and toys and my mind starts to wander down very wicked paths...anywho....
Trey begins the story with the typical rocker persona; women, liquor, rinse and repeat. It isn't until Layken appears before him that Trey is basically hit upside the head like an old time cartoon. He seriously doesn't understand what is going on inside of himself. He can't stop thinking about her, wanting to find her, talk to her, etc...He's never felt anything like it and given his lifestyle he doesn't really have anyone to talk to. He's that sweetly adorable, when he shouldn't be. Ugh, this guy shouldn't be redeemable, but his emotional awakening is literally the best thing ever!! I want to wrap him in bubble wrap and hug him forever.
I can't leave Layken out of this love fest either. She is also an amazing force on the page. Layken knows who she is the entire time and never wavers, I love that about her. She makes a great partner for a man like Trey and I'm so happy how their story turned out.
The band is growing with only one member left to fall. I can hardly wait to see how Madden's story fits in with the rest of the band.
Another Heartbreaking Beautiful Read! Trey is the New Guy in the Band, and We didn't really know too much about him from the past books. His home life was rocky, not great role models when it came to relationships. He doesn't do serious, and No One Comes into his home. Then he meets Layken, the sweet and Beautiful yet fierce hair and makeup artist who just happens to love his band! Their Connection and Chemistry are off the charts 🔥 They went to School together but Trey doesn't realize this till later. Many mistakes are made and hurt feelings are heartbreaking. I laughed and cried many times. The Spice was Excellent! Can these two work through their feelings and baggage and reach a Hea? I loved this Rollercoaster ride of emotions, I Loved Every Single Minute. Definitely Your Next 5 ⭐ Read..
"She's the only woman I've ever let get close to me, and now I can't seem to get my mind off her."
Trey Whitt carries plenty of baggage from his past and the way he likes to let off steam is women. He's never had a relationship and all the women he meets know the score. Whilst on tour with his band, he meets Layken Grant and, for the first time ever, he can't seem to forget her. Unbeknownst to him, he and Layken have met before, and they have so much more in common than he realises. When they chance to meet again, he's determined to pursue this connection and chemistry between them.
"It's you. It's only you. You consume my every f*ckin' thought, and it's driving me crazy."
The key thing I liked about Trey was that he was an honest guy. He was a real player but, once he knew that Layken was who he wanted and he was committed to making her see that, I loved that she was all he saw. Layken was sweet and bold. I liked that she didn't let people walk all over her, and that she held her own. She and Trey had chemistry in spades and I adored the way he wanted to possess and protect her. For someone who'd shied away from relationships, he was all in before he even realised the extent of his feelings for her. This was a fab read and I'm going to catch up with the previous book, Tysin, and look forward to Madden's story.
The moment their eyes connect she feels it clear down to her toes, it's a connection she has never known, but exploring it with a bad boy like him could only lead to heartbreak. She's read the articles, seen the scandalous photos, and heard all the rumors about Trey Whitt, but all that doesn't seem to matter now. She wants a chance with him, and when he comes to her rescue it's as if it's meant to be... it's her one night to throw caution to the wind and just be a little reckless. And for this good girl being bad has never seemed so appealing...
I have been anxiously awaiting for this one to arrive on my tablet and I have to say it was SO worth the wait. Trey had me intrigued at first glimpse in previous installments and I have to say he was so much more than I expected. Under that playboy exterior was a sweet, damaged soul, who deserved to be loved and seen for more than just his stardom, and he found the perfect woman for him in Layken. Together they found a love they'd never known, one that Trey never thought was possible for a guy like him. It was a beautiful, steamy, and emotional fall and I loved every minute of it! Highly recommend you get your hands on this one, Trey will steal your heart the moment he wanders onto the page!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
JUST PHENOMENAL!!!Addictive in the most unforgettable and touching way. I was utterly speechless after reading Trey! This book is is filled with heart: heart-gripping, heart-shattering and heartwarming. I love the feelings that this book left me with. Trey and Layken are such intense, alluring and engaging characters with such a breathtaking and emotional storyline. The chemistry that burns between these characters jumps right off the pages and takes a life of its own, it’s so stunning. Trey craves the physical contact he gets from Layken as much as he needs air to breath. Just be prepared for a book filled with messy emotions and an all-consuming love. You will definitely feel connected to these two captivating souls from the very beginning. This story along with the rest of the books in the A Rebel Havoc series, absolutely blow my freaking mind. Brooke has a way with the bad boy, tortured souls, and oh so damned sexy, delightfully and alpha rockstars. All her characters are beautifully multilayered and authentic and you can’t help but lose yourself in them and their remarkable stories. Congratulations Brooke on this highly moving, heart lifting and very sensual book. Trey along with Tysin and Brix are like heroine to an addict because they consume you and take your mind on such a spicy and beautiful ride.🙌🏻🎉🙌🏻❤️
Trey is the new guy in a band on the rise, and he also has a past that has demons dogging his steps. See, he has no desire to be in a relationship (he's worried he'll turn out like his father if he does get serious about someone), so he hooks up with them & gets them out quickly afterwards until he meets Layken. She turns his world upside down, but he messes up pretty quickly by calling her another woman's name LOL! Luckily, Layken is a girl who doesn't hold a grudge too long so when he finally gets to talk to her again, they start to build something. Of course there are more than the average complications since the paps have figured out he provides great gossip & it threatens to derail these two so will they be able to get through the storm together?! Trey was an easy story to devour in one sitting, but there was one big issue for me, Trey's activities in living color. I know the rock & roll lifestyle has a lot of sexy times with different women, however I find it almost impossible to imprint on a hero when I read their previous life in detail but that's just me (there's NO cheating). Anyway, please understand that issue is my personal preference & other than that, I loved everything about this story! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
OMG!! I just loved Trey and Layken’s steamy story. Trey is the guitarist for the famous rock band A Rebel’s Havoc and Layken is a hairstylist who loves the band so when she gets a chance to see them in person she’s all on board.
Their first meeting was extremely hot and there was just something that had Trey even letting Layken spend the night which is something he has never let happen before. It was the morning after that was heartbreaking for Layken…Trey called her by her friend’s name.
Reluctantly a bit later Layken gets a chance to see the band again and Trey wants nothing more than to apologize to the woman who he can’t get off his mind.
There’s so much more to this story which was filled with heartbreak and heartwarming times along with steam that beyond hot. I wanted nothing more than for these two to find their HEA which made this book a huge page turner. I highly recommend this book for all rock romance lovers.
I was so excited to read Trey’s story. There was just something about his personality that intrigued me while reading Tysin and I couldn’t wait to learn more about him. There were definitely parts from his past and present that were eye opening but that didn’t stop me from falling head over heels for him. Trey and Layken had that chemistry that I crave! They kept my interest from the moment they met and all the way to the end. I was literally begging for their happily ever after. The smexy times with dirty talk were HOT and the vulnerable moments made my heart flutter. Even when things got messy I just knew they could pull through and they didn’t disappoint. Even with that great ending this book left me with a bit of a book hangover. I can’t wait for the next in this series!
OMG this book was a swoon worthy. Layken and Trey are delicious together. Truthfully I am addicted to rockstar romance but this story adds all the troupes I love. It has the best kinds of secrets and surprises. It is the perfect combination of innocence and sexy.
Trey’s story is probably my favorite in this series so far. He is perfect character with a wonderful heart but some bad boy that keeps everything interesting.
Trey is a rocker and joined the band during their tour. Layken ends up meeting Trey in a club and the two have a one night stand. Trey never expected a one night stand to leave him wanting more or for the woman whose name he can't remember to be a virgin. Layken ends up with more than she bargained for after her night with Trey. Unfortunately, Trey finds out about her pregnancy before she has a chance to tell him. The couple have much to deal with and to find out about each other.
Trey is used to the rock ‘n’ roll life he leads, but he is beginning to get bored. When a one night stand brings them into the limelight, they are thrown together in an unexpected turn of events that have them holding on to each other. Misunderstandings, lies and a fair few rumors are determined to tear apart these two lost souls forever. And when a hidden secret is thrust into the light, Trey is left reeling. Can they build a relationship from the ashes of the past?
Trey is the 3rd Novel in the Rebels Havoc Series by Brooke O’Brien. This novel follows the story of newbie Trey and Layken. They have unbelievable chemistry and heat. I really loved this story. I cannot wait for the next novel to come out coming soon February 10, 2023!!
🔥 Surprise Pregnancy 🔥 Rock Star Romance
I received this novel as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This is the absolute best book of the series!! After reading this book, I think I need a cold shower. Trey is the perfect book boyfriend... sweet, sexy, dirty talker, and dominant. That's a killer combination. Layken is one lucky girl. This book is definitely more than 5 red hot chili peppers for smut... more like 10 red hot chili peppers! 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶
Wow, just wow! I’ve fallen in love with Trey and Layken. They both have had Rocky upbringings but overcame their obstacles. Layken has a good heart and the patience of a saint. Trey has lived through a father who didn’t really care, but came out the other side a kind and loving soul. Can’t wait for more
This entire series is worth reading. Each book is equally as good as the last. I wasn't sure I would enjoy this book as much as the last, considering we did really know Trey. I was wrong....Trey is amazing, and their journey throughout the book never got boring. Can't wait for Madden's story!
Really wanted to like this book, but the second I got to chapter 2 with the FMC it was an instant no. What the hell kind of name is Laykin? I mean seriously I have heard some dumb character names, but this one takes the cake. Would've been nice if the name had been mentioned in the description of the book, that way I would've known from the start it wasn't for me.
This story of Layken and Trey just wore me out! The childhood traumas to overcome, insecurities, and all the drama that comes with it, whew! Then a beautiful love story that was so filled with what the other needed...sigh! Writer Brooke O'Brien yes!!!
Trey was everything you could want in a rocker romance. It is dark. It is twisty. It is level 5 spicy. The raw nature that Brooke O'Brien uses to bring her characters to life is impressive. You become part of the book. I can't scream enough praise for this book. Oh, and the ending.....you will never see it coming!
TREY is 𝗡𝗢𝗪 𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘 and available for 𝙁𝙍𝙀𝙀 with Kindle Unlimited! Grab your copy and start swooning over the newest bad boy of A Rebels Havoc.

Brooke O'Brien did it again ! I don't know how she does it but every time she outdid herself in creating the perfect book boyfriend. I couldn't think that it's possible to write them even better than the previous and you know that every one of her bad boy rock star is unique in his own way . Trey is the quiet see-it-all new guy in the band and then he turned out to be the baddest from them all ... for now . He keeps to himself and tries to not get in the way because he's the one who tries to fit and like the others he too has secrets and some fears from the past . On the outside he's the cool and easy going bad boy rock star who thinks that Layken wouldn't give him a chance. For him she's a perfection to his messy . And he messed it up a lot by calling her the wrong name . Layken is sweet, smart and honest, confident and in the same time innocent and insecure. She's the perfect match for Trey . The attraction between them is an instant fire and they have of the charts chemistry . They are perfect together from the start . When Layken ghosts him after the name mistake he rethinks every moment of their time together. When they meet for the second time they both have confessions to make . Layken tells him that she knows him from before when they were teens and Trey apologizes and asks for a second chance . Through in the mix Rhys , Layken's guy friend who has an obvious and not so hidden agenda and is connected to them both, and plays dirty just to get on top . Let's not forget social media and gossip papers. That's the perfect set for Trey and Layken's story. There's a glimpses of Brix and Ivy , Tysin and Kyla , and Maden of course with a hint about his story that is coming next and I can't wait to read it already. At the end all misunderstandings are talked about and cleared. Trey confronts Rhys for acting out behind Layken's back . And as always Brooke O'Brien kept the best for the last - the epilogue and the bonus epilogue are perfect as a Christmas present.
I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange of an honest review .
Your background doesn’t define you. That is the most important underlying thought in this wonderful heartwarming romance.
Trey lives the Rockstar life at all. Women in every town with no strings attached. Doing what, when and with who when he wants it. Not looking into the future more than a few days ahead. Planning the future out is not for him because he didn’t have the best experience of this in his life so far.
”If we light this match, Layken, it’s going to take a lot to put it out.”
Layken knows all too well that the only person she can truly rely on is herself. And maybe her closest friend Kate. A sorry excuse of an undeserving ex-boyfriend and a father who did not choose her too, made her learn that from young on.
So when Layken and Trey meet there are sparks flying, and desires awakened that both didn’t think were possible. But the morning after a terrible mistake puts a hold on something that could have been more.
Trey learns that he has a new addiction and that addiction is Layken. He doesn’t understand it, but knows he needs it. But how to undo the mistake that was made?
…”The high I get from you is better than any drug, any drink I’ve ever had”...
He gets his chance by coincidence. And he takes it. And slowly Layken warms up to the idea that someone chooses her. The one that never was chosen or seen.
That is when the events come by at every corner. And the most important is one that Layken isn’t sure how to handle herself. Can both overcome their fears and attitudes to be open to a possibility that gives them a chance to do better than fate did to them.
I liked both characters equally, how Layken effortlessly gave in to the needs Trey had and how wonderful Trey was with her because of the effect she had on him that no one ever ignited in him.
Mind blown , speechless and on the edge of my seat From start to finish feeling like my heart was beating out of chest . That’s pretty much how I feel every single time I pick up one of Brooke’s wonderfully written romances . I’m not sure there are any perfect perfects words to express all the reasons I loved Trey and Layken’s emotional rollercoaster of a journey or to express all the unexpected emotions it’s guaranteed to stir in you ( and I do mean that in the best way possible ( it’s simply something you can only experience by picking it up and reading. What I can say is that you should definitely be prepared for all the feels because Trey is the type of love story that is absolutely going to grab onto all your emotions so freaking fast , it’s going to pull at your heartstrings in ways you won’t even be expecting and before you know what’s happening you’ll find yourself tumbling headfirst into a journey unlike you’ve every experience before . Surprise pregnancy, rockstar romance , off the charts chemistry, angst , witty banter , dark , raw , gritty , twists and turns, second chances, tragedy, family , friendships, drama , wonderfully written characters that are not only so likable and relatable but very unique and multi layered as well . I honestly couldn’t devour this phenomenal book fast enough , in fact I ended up reading well into the early morning hours and dead on my feet the next day . But man was it worth it . a few seconds ago

𝙏𝙧𝙚𝙮 by Brook O'Brien is a standalone story in the interconnected 𝘈 𝘙𝘦𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘴 𝘏𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘤 series. This book can be read without reading any other books in the series, but if you prefer to read the books in order, start with Brix as the stories do interconnect. This book is Trey & Layken's story.
I don't usualy play favorites but this story is definetly my favourite so far. I was really looking forward to this book after reading the last one, and it sure did not dissapoint. This story picks up from a cross-over scene we got to see in Tysin and Kyla's book. With that being said, I am now very excited to see what happens in the Madden's story.
