Sweetness with a touch of heartache!
A truly lovely story that shines a beautiful light on family and true love. The kind of love that is needed to make a marriage last. Although this family suffered serious heartache, it was inspiring in it’s entirety. Would like to see a sequel to this book. Yeah, there was some predictable events but few stories are told without some predictability. Go on, read it, it’s warm and cuddly.

This was a very enjoyable read. Based in Arkansas in the 1920's/Depression, Jones transports the reader to another time and place. I dare readers not to like Sooze and her sister Cora. A wholesome coming of age love story is an added bonus in this charming book.
