DJ play I’m In Love With A Stripper. Comin’ to the stage is Moët and she’s lookin’ for her muse.
Dionne is an exotic dancer, a nursing student, and single mama to a precocious 6 year. She has her village to help her with Khari and dancing pays for nursing school so she doesn’t have to depend on her parents financially. Dionne is in her final year of nursing school and graduation is on the horizon so, life is good. The same cannot be said for Javario. Life has been lifein’ and not in a good way. His dad has been locked up for six years on some trumped up murder charges and his brother was murdered a year ago. Javario has a lot on his plate tryin’ to prove his dad’s innocence and find out who murked his brother. While out celebrating with his crew, the stripper Gods are shinin’ upon him because, he’s chosen as Moët’s muse. That solo dance is going to change Dionne and Row’s life in ways they could never imagine. Dance For You was a messy read. It was full of backstabbin’, betrayal, and frenemies. Trust was not on the menu in this book. Everybody’s inner circle had a snake in it. After the barber shop scene, my spidey senses were tellin’ me Mace was suspect and I was right. And, I peeped game on Melanie's sneaky azz too. She'd already crossed several lines constantly bringin’ Trish and Karissa around when she knew Dionne didn’t like them. But, when she found out just how dirty those bytches were, Dionne should’ve dog walked both of em’. Melanie threw away a 10 year friendship givin’ her loyalty to the wrong person and didn’t get the azz whoppin’ she deserved. I hope it was worth it. Dance For You was a good read and was easily a solid 4 but, the errors wouldn’t let it be great. This book was riddled with errors from start to finish and they were a huge distraction. I hate when I have to dock my rating for something that can easily be fixed by the author.
The real star in Dance For You is Khari. For six years old, he had an old soul. He was the sweetest. Dionne is a single mother, dancing her way through nursing school. She had no intentions of falling for Row but he shot out like a cannon and applied pressure to Dionne. I liked Row’s character, he was really big on trust and family is everything. He really didn’t play any games- at times he was impulsive and rude - whew. I liked the flow of the story and the plot twists and drama. There were quite a few errors throughout. Nonetheless, this book kept my attention and I was so invested in knowing how things would unfold with the secrets. Good read.
The drama in the story wasn't too oppressive to enjoy the extraneous storyline. So, let's see, there were the jealous harlots, the greedy jack boys, the dickwad club manager, the dancers, and the list continues. The story also had wonderful friends and family, along with a dancer who fell for the Alpha male character. The dancer was no slouch; she could hold her own in this story. The editing issues did not detract from the story. Overall, the story was worthy of 3.5 stars.
I enjoyed this read but the amount of errors were a bit distracting. Dionne and Javario had great chemistry. I loved that Dionne had a smart mouth and tried to challenge Javario the entire book but bro shut her down every time. I was glad to see Dionne was a woman with goals and a plan to get out of the club.
This book was good and held my attention from the very first page. I love Dionne she had a goal and did what she had to do to achieve that goal. I also love me some Javario also. It was crazy how the family was connected. The ending was perfect and it was good to see that Dionne gotten a happy ending.
I would love to finish reading this book, just because I really like Row. Dionne has started getting on my nerve. All that calling and clingyness after only one day of being official? Like are u serious? I liked her at first but she done made my headache worse and this ain’t even a real story. And if you don’t like somebody or know for a fact somebody don’t like you or is jealous of you then why hang with them? If Melanie yo real friend she wouldn’t keep inviting ppl you don’t get along with out with y’all. She would just hang with them on her own time. Like I said the horrible editing is super annoying and frustrating at this point in the game new writer or not you should not want your name attached to this. This was my first read by this author I think and if this is the type of work she puts out I’m good on it.
Grammatical errors before 10 percent. The main characters I could NOT relate to at all. How someone you met in a club for 3min start demanding you do this and that with your life as well as you kid’s??? I just could not get with this nor finish this book.
This was truly not what I thought it was going to be, but the plot was good. Dionne was annoying while Row was just a wannabe alpha… Didn’t like it at all and then the grammatical errors were just too much…
I’m definitely in the minority on this one. I will say I’m interested in X and Mercedes. The dynamics alone should make for a great book. I’m hoping she delivers on that one. This was a naw.
There were way too many errors in this book. Every single page had an error which made it difficult to read. I love a book with a good alpha male and Row was definitely that but it could’ve been a little more juicier.
Overall, I liked the book. The storyline was engaging. I did not like Row. The audacity to demand someone do something and you barely even know them? He talked about Dionne abs how she made a way for herself and her son as if he was superior. And he was unnecessarily disrespectful. Like why would you come at the person at Dionne's job like that as if you're not asking her to do something for you? Row is def not book bae material lol. But regardless of that my dislike for him did not have anything to do with my rating. My rating is simply bc all of the errors. If hard to get immersed in a book wrong, extra, or misspelled words are literally on every page in every other paragraph making you have to go back and reread. This is not my first time reading this author so I know that this is on trend for her. I keep reading bc I love the stories, it's just a struggle to get through them! I know I'm not the only one that has noticed the errors so hopefully others mention it in their reviews so she can take note and take steps towards getting better editors/proofreaders, if she hasn't already.
Row is crazy! Unhinged! He for real needs medication but that’s how I feel about most of T’Lyn’s MMCs lol. Him pulling up on Di at Lush and at lunch with Stone was taking me out. The man knew where his woman was at all times and if she thought she could be anywhere HE didn’t say she could be Row was on that 🍑 He had big “we are together and together is forever how we will be” energy about Di! Khari was everything to me too. When he told his mama he don’t live at her house I was done. Row was his daddy and where he goes baby boy went too but I loved it.
Unpopular opinion I kind of feel bad for Khalil. 🫣 Is he a f&@! Boy.. yes but some of his behavior gave he was backed into a corner and he actually didn’t want to do some of that stuff. The whole thing in the warehouse tugged at me a little. I get what Row had to do but I felt the slightest bad for Khalil and just having to live with what happened because of Khari.
Per usual live all of the side characters and all the families. The connection between Dionne’s parents and Javon was dope to me!
She was standing up for herself, and not taking any sh** but, as soon as Javario hits the scene, she becomes completely PREDICTABLE! Her mind and her pu*** were wide open for a controlling psychopath. She became whiny, clingy, and super spoiled. It really annoyed me.
Javario is a HE** TO THE NO for me.
I will NEVER be attracted to a man who beats people or shoots them every time he feels a different emotion. Every time things didn't go his way, he threatened people with violence. This dude constantly forced the issue to get his way. That's not a boss making moves, it's a lack of maturity.
Like the lady in the hospital. I agreed with her. He showed up demanding to see Dionne, and the lady said " I'm not a maid. " When she said that, he got angry and pulled his gun out. Like what the hell**?!? You have to be violent every time you hear the word no?!
The only likable character for me was Khari.
Hopefully Xavier and Mercedes story is a bit more tolerable.
I really loved this book! Row was aggressive asf but he loved him some Dionne and played no games when it came to her and Khari and she deserved all of that. I absolutely loved Dionne’s grind, she was a single mother, dancing to put herself through school. Sis ran into Row and he turned her world upside down.
Dionne was right to cut Melanie off because best friends don’t do foul shit like that she crossed a line and it wasn’t no coming back from it. I read book 2 first so I was wondering why she had a best friend in book 1 but she wasn’t mentioned in book 2.
Mercedes spoke on her and True’s love in book 2 but did True really love her is what book 1 has me questioning 🤨 The Brooks family seemed close knit so I can’t understand how True never introduced her to his family. Was there a funeral for True did Mercedes’ not go to funeral 🤔 QTNA !
Okay so I did like this story. A lot actually. I like how Row immediately stepped in and showed Dionne he was about that business. She said that she had been stripping for years and was making thousands a night. So I’m curious why it took her so long to quit. Also her BD was a jackboy so why didn’t she think he was capable of killing? I might be in the minority but I think Dionne overreacted a little bit to him questioning her about her BD. Let’s be real it did look suspicious. And it’s not like he went in her he simply asked some questions which any normal person would. Row was bossy and most of the time I don’t care for bossy men but I think it was necessary in this case. He had to show Dionne he wasn’t her BD. Anyway I DEDUCTED some points because these were a lot of grammatical errors and that threw me off.
Row came in Dionne life and turned upside down. He knew he wanted her as soon as he her. There was a lot of jealousy surrounding Dionne, Dynasty for instance she thinks Dionne wants Zo in reality he wants Dionne. Melanie wanted Dionne to get along with Karrissa and Trish so bad knowing along Trish was pregnant by Khalil. I knew Khalil and Mace had something to do with True being killed. Mace was just that grimy and was jealous of Row. Row loves kids that's why he took to Khari. Dasia tried to shade Dionne knowing Row wanted her. I was happy that Row's parents were accepting of Khari and Dionne and her parents. I want Jinx to be with X. They got their little family.
Baby Javario was the man okayyy. He stepped in on BDE even through his rough moments that man was EVERYTHING! Dionne wasn’t one of them and I loved that sis wasn’t weak. The way Row kept saying “my kids” lawd I just fell in love and smiled all throughout reading this book. True having a wife and not telling the family was a little 😒 idk cause they all close so i didn’t get that part. It was cool how the families connected and were able to help each other in the time of need. I knew Khalil and Mace was gonna be the ones and I had a feeling Tisha was doing something grimy cause sis wanted to let Dionne know so bad. I’m glad she cut Girl Melanie off cause that ain’t no best friend ion care. Some grammar errors but good real
Javario was so intense, like really on go from the moment he came across Dionne. He played no games when it came to her or her son and I loved that for her! Although at times, Row could be a little extreme with it, Dionne was right there to let him know she wasn’t going for his BS either. I loved the family dynamic and how each side was welcoming. Mace AND Khalil was a crazy plot twist, because what were the chances of Khalil being caught up in that with his connections to Dionne?! And the Melanie and Trish?! This book was crazy good and i’m glad through it all, Dionne and Javario got their happy ending!
The friends in this book make you wanna hug an enemy! I was so annoyed with Di not setting boundaries with Melanie. Melanie knew she didn’t rock with those other females yet she insisted on barging into Di’s life with them. Di wasn’t a push over by far, she stood up for herself and well. But don’t allow yourself to be in situations where you would have to stand up for yourself. Row was a good dude, and I loved how he embraced Khari. They had a bond from the moment Khari sat in his barber chair. Loved it. Definitely would love a story about the Dad, Javon Brooks. Daddy gave BDE! 😂
Row and Dionne were perfectly matched. I love me a good stepdaddy, and Row came in and was top-tier stepdaddy. When he bossed up on Dionne, I was like, you better let her know. Dionne wasn't no punk either, and she held her own when necessary. This book was a prime example of how your so-called friends can be your biggest opp. Dionne found her true friends, and I loved that for her. Row avenging his brothers death was perfection. Both sets of parents' relationships were so cute, and I loved to see long-lasting relationships. Overall, it was an amazing read with some grammatical errors, but it didn't take away from the story.
Once again I really enjoyed this read by you T’Lyn. I will say Dionne did get on my nerves with her stubbornness lol but Row was a REAL one and knew how to check her tail. I love how he was there for her and Khari from the beginning and really getting to know them !! X was so solid and I’m glad Row had him in his corner because Mace was just jealous hearted and it was sad that he took True away from from his family but he definitely got what he deserved!!!! Good job
This was such a beautiful book and I love the dedication at the end of the book!!!…I love how Ri pulled his lady up out that club, because he meant what he said and made sure she understood what he was talking about!!!… Melanie was a messy boots and I’m glad Dionne back tracked on her because who does that mess!!!… Trish definitely felt all that animosity she was giving Dionne and I was cheering her on for real!!!… Great read and looking f d to the next book!!!…
DNFd this book a year ago and doubled back because I thought I was healed enough to enjoy. Row is insufferable and so is Di. To Row’s credit he’s the same from day one. But Dionne changes the second she gets a man. I noticed that in this author’s books a lot. The FMC ALWAYS changes for the man. They’re always independent go getters and the second the MMC even breaths in their direction they become intolerable damsels in distress with barely any brain cells. Also the family members never have any healthy boundaries. Would have given a 0 stars if I could.
This is the first story that I have read by you, and it won't be the last. This is the kind of book I like, you can read it in one sitting, it is hard to put down, even if it keeps you from your bedtime. I hope your other stories are just as entertaining as this one, will let you know!!!!?!!!!!
Row came in Dionne life and got it active… my favorite part was when he came in the club and grabbed her on stage and told her to show outttttt babbyyyyy that was the sexiest part of the book….he had me hooked since then he told ol girl to get her stuff…. Row was edgy and Di was a firecracker lovedddd this read…family over everything
🫶🏽 T’Lyn sure knows how to tell a story. I’m very impressed!! I just recently found her and she has quickly became one of my favs. ❤️ There were a lot of grammatical errors, however the storyline was very engaging. Kept me so entertained I didn’t want to put the book down!! Blessings my friend, keep up the amazing work ❤️❤️
Love the chemistry Love the drama Row was something else Another alpha male persona strikes again Love the fact that she finished and became a nurse Black nurses rock and taking care of their families Love his family Love his relationship with his father and mother
