Just when I was beginning to think that Scare Street was done publishing these story anthologies, which would have sent me into a very dark place, here comes Night Terrors Vol. 21. It did not disappoint. There are frights aplenty. You get houses with illnesses, clouds with teeth and voracious appetites, obsessed fans of chorus dancers and all manner of things that will keep you up at night.
I think what appeals to me about this series is the consistent quality of the writing. The stories just never get stale or predictable. Many of them eerily address fears that all of us have experienced at some point. Who hasn't felt the presence of an unknown entity or seen something that simply shouldn't exist? Welcome to Scare Street, ladies and gentlemen.
