The year is 1970, and Sister June arrives in New York to investigate reports of a vampire. Teaming up with an old friend, she soon finds herself drawn into the world of the mysterious Count Bastiani. But is Bastiani really what he seems to be, or has the First Order been duped?
As June continues her investigation, she's forced to confront a shocking crisis of faith. When tragedy strikes, all her certainties begin to fade and she finds herself questioning some of her deepest beliefs. Can she discover the truth about Bastiani, or will he bring her entire world crashing down? And what other sinister force is lurking in the shadows, waiting to make its move?
The Fourth Shadow is the fourth book in the Chronicles of Sister June series. Each book is a standalone story, but readers are advised to begin with the first volume.
Amy Cross writes novels and short stories in a number of genres, mainly horror, paranormal and fantasy. Books include The Farm, Annie's Room, The Island, Eli's Town and Asylum.
This lets us see a glimpse into Sister June's past, only a quick peek.
This was a little different than past books. Sister June is her same not quite naive little nun caught in some unusual extraordinary unearthly entanglements. But this time a friend/foe joins her from past joins her. She hangs on her faith and desire to return to St. Jude for her simple, everything in its place home. But do think First Order is done with her.
This whole series is wonderful!!! I can't wait until the fifth book comes out. Well done Amy Cross. You managed to scare the crap out of me once again.
