"Don't Forget Me"

Oh, the irony of that statement. Every time I heard it, or some variation of it, my heart broke just a little more. 💔 I was able to easily imagine the pain each endured after the car accident in NYC.

Charlotte and Xander have a sweet and sorrow filled story. They also have amazing chemistry! 🔥💥🔥 The ups, the downs, and the upside-downs all lead to one of the sweetest endings that left my heart full. ❤️

I received an author's copy of the audio book. The narrators are Stephanie Nemeth-Parker and Zachary Johnson. I think these were terrific choices for Xander and Charlotte.

.

I've read this the first time February 2021 but I still remember Xander and Charlotte's emotional, angsty, heart-wrenching and bittersweet second-chance story.
I was looking for an emotional book and thought of re-reading this instead.

The MCs attraction was instant and not even the struggles of LDR were able to stop them from falling madly in love. They missed each other all the time, which only made their reunion sweet. They called, texted, Facetimed every day and made plans for the future.

When h visited H in New York, it was all fun until the car accident that left both of them severely injured. H's brain trauma resulted to partial amnesia, with the last 12 years wiped out from his memory, including h. But not totally, cuz H dreamed of h every night. He remembered how it felt to be with h, her scent, taste, the way she called his name, her blonde hair.. but not h's face. He became obsessed of his faceless dream, at the same time confused with what happened to him and his absent ex who, per H's memory, was his current love/gf.

My heart hurt when H thought of h as stranger at first. Heartbroken and traumatized, h was left with no choice but to step back, focus on her own recovery and mend her broken heart. 💔
I cried reading h's nightmares which consisted of her and H trapped in the car wreck, she couldn't move and H just moaned and moaned from pain. 😢

Months later, they met again at work. Still no memories but fate didn't care.😌

You know what I like the most?
It was neither H's fault nor intention but he was remorseful that he hurt h. Even with amnesia, the effort he had to put in to earn back h's trust and love was deeply felt. ❤️

NO this is NOT a love triangle. The OW was no longer present in H's life and has been gone for a long time. And H's heart recognized h regardless of his amnesia. Other than his dream one time, OW coincidentally appeared a couple times in the book. It caused some drama but it also answered some of H's memory gap.

This is the second of the It's Complicated series, and just to keep things straight I would suggest reading book one, Crossing the Line before this. The events in book one set the tone for this story and this picks up after book one.. sort of. We all felt the vibe between Charlotte and Xander, there was the bidding war from afar, and of course the accident, now it's six months after things are slowing getting back to normal. Xander still doesn't remember Charlotte, and Charlotte is devastated but keeping her distance from Xander. The last thing Xander remembers is that he is twenty-two and in love with his ex, so of course he is frustrated when he can't remember the last twelve years and even more when he can remember someone special but can't see her face. After going through with the planned move to Chicago and starting anew, Xander is shocked when he sees Charlotte his first day of surgery. For Charlotte this is agony, spending time near Xander day in and day out without him remembering just what they were. But when Xander starts to push for them to hang out, and starts to slowly get bits of his memory, will Charlotte be able to trust that he wont suddenly drop her for an ex? Or will she embrace the fact that he is starting to slowly remember that she is the one that matters?

I really enjoyed this story, the plot of finding love and then suddenly that person doesn't even remember you. Xander and Charlotte's chemistry was smoking hot, and the story of how they work out their issues was epic. There is a small plot hole with the whole Nathan thing. I really did enjoy this and give it 4.5 stars.

“The heart wants what the heart wants!”- Maggie Cole

Xander is a hot, talented billionaire surgeon. Charlotte is a medical equipment rep. When Xander and Charlotte meet it’s instant attraction. Everything is picture perfect until they are in a bad wreck. Xander wakes up from a coma and doesn’t remember the last 12 years, including Charlotte.

Xander believes he is still in love with his ex Billie. Charlotte is devastated. Fast forward 6 months, Xander and Charlotte find themselves in the same operating room. Xander’s memories begin to come back. Now Xander realizes that Charlotte is “the one.” Xander will stop at nothing to win Charlotte back.

Once you start reading you won’t be able to stop! Xander and Charlotte overcome exes and lost memories to get their HEA.

Xander and Charlotte's story is one of love and patience. Xander can't remember that he is in love with Charlotte and try as she might she can't forget him. They are thrust together when they are forced to work together. No matter how hard she tries, she is pulled to him like a magnet. Xander feels like he should love her but his memories are for a woman he loved long ago and his mind won't let him betray her. Can he find happiness with Charlotte? Will she forever be heartbroken? I cried with Charlotte on her journey. You will too!

Forgotten by the Billionaire by Maggie Cole is an amnesia billionaire romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Stephanie Nemeth Parker and Zachary Johnson. This is the second book in the It's Complicated series and can be read as a stand-alone.

I absolutely love Maggie's books! She does an amazing job pulling me into the story. I loved the relationship between Xander and Charlotte. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can't wait to dive into the next book in the series My Friend The Billionaire so I can get Chase and Vivian's story.

Stephanie and Zachary did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like billionaire romances, second chance romances, amnesia romances, medical romances, or contemporary romances.

Cute enough I guess but I lost interest about halfway through.

The story is an amnesia romance and is told with timelines out of order. We flip between the present and past but not always in order which got a bit confusing and annoying.

The couple had been together only for a month or so and I’ve was supposed to believe that this was their love story for all times. It didn’t really click but it was a pleasant enough read so I finished it.

Check it or from KU - this could work if the timeline thing doesn’t bother you.

Shockingly bad! Inaccurate plots, missing punctuation, she’s weak, he messes her around.

I can’t believe how bad this was!!!

Charlotte is in love with Xander when they have a really bad car crash, and Xander is badly injured. When he wakes up he thinks it’s 12 years earlier and he’s still in love with his ex Billie. He’s completely forgot that he’s a surgeon and forgotten Charlotte. Then we have a lot of flashbacks from her and him. (Bizarrely as he can’t remember her!)

Charlotte is a medical equpment sales rep and for some weird reason works at a hospital for three years! As a sales rep, yes she would help out in a theatre, to train the surgeons with the equipment. She wouldn’t need to stay there for three years! It’s bizarre! Please research things like that, before writing about it! So Charlotte bumps into Xander when he goes back to work as a surgeon. It doesn’t explain when he got his memory back as a surgeon. We have no clue if he’s safe to work as a surgeon at all!

So Charlotte and Xander start dating, even though he can’t remember her, apart from sexy dreams about her. Until he shouts out that he loves Billie in bed. Charlotte throws him out of her flat, until later they go ice skating, is she insane??? I get that she loves him and it’s not his fault that he can’t remember her, it is his fault that he won’t leave her alone, or take it slowly with her. Again theres sex, sex and more sex. Which is hard to accept as he still claims to be in love with Billie!!

Missing punctuation, spelling mistakes and sentences that don’t make sense. Sorry it’s really bad.

This book tore my heart out!

After meeting in My Boss the Billionaire, Xander and Charlotte seemed to have it all. That is, until they were in a car crash on the way to the airport and Xander lost his memories of the last twelve years, including Charlotte. Six months later, they both find out they're working together, and Xander is happy to put a face to the woman he's been dreaming of. Only, Xander still thinks he's in love with the woman he was with when he was twenty-two, and Charlotte doesn't want to be the stand-in woman. Just as they are starting to move past everything and get to know each other again, said ex makes an appearance in the worst way possible.

Xander and Charlotte get their happy ending in this standalone book in a series.

This book picks up right after the events of My Boss the Billionaire, minus the epilogue, and I recommend reading that book first, even though it's not necessary. I loved the back and forth to see what's happening now, but also how Xander and Charlotte's relationship started and what they went through while apart for those months. I cried through those last few chapters with all that was going on between the main couple after they had just decided to move forward. I can't wait to see how the other two friends get their happy ending, and if they end up getting places in Chicago, too, or if they stay in New York.

Xander & Charlotte’s story is full of many riveting moments. Love, loss, heartache, renewal, healing, trust, newness & so much more. Xander is an orthopedic surgeon and Charlotte is a medical rep who assists in surgeries. A chance meeting in a night club brings them together and their relationship - while long distance - blossoms into a genuine love for each other. But a horrible accident pulls them apart when Xander ends up with amnesia and can’t remember a huge chunk of his life - including Charlotte. 😕 The story takes several twists and turns as they are suddenly thrown back together in the OR at her hospital when Xander becomes the new surgeon. Maggie Cole certainly delivers a fresh new tale of time. Love, loss & reunion. This HEA is filled with deeply designed characters who have intense background stories that shape and design an articulate love story between the hero & heroine. The returning characters from the first book in the series are a delight and add another level of depth to the story. This an amazing book with a fresh, new plot unseen in other books. This is a must read, a stand alone read for sure, but start with “Crossing the Line” the 1st book in the “It’s Complicated” series. Well done yet again Maggie! A++++

Don’t Forget Me grabs your heart from the beginning . Xander, a surgeon and Charlotte, a medical specialist ( friends of Noah and Piper) meet in “Crossing the Line” and fall in love. A car accident happens and derails their path of happy ever after. Xander wakes up with no memories of his current relationship with Charlotte , but of his relationship and life 12 years prior with a gal named Billie. He has no memories of their breakup despite Noah and his friends filling in the blanks of what happened 12 years prior. , In “Don’t Forget Me ,recurrent nightly dreams of a woman who has no face starts Xander on the path to regain his memories and find his true love . A rollercoaster ride for both of these lucious characters as Xander and Charlotte work to rekindle what Xander forgot . The range of emotions felt by this reader had me on a roller coaster ride the entire book. Maggie Cole has such a gift of writing ! Grab this book now!

Wow, just wow! What an amazing story for Xander and Charlotte and how one night can change your life forever. Xander and Charlotte just ooze chemistry, they are sexy, hot and just hit it off so well, feelings between them just morphed into something neither of them saw coming and then it happens, the unthinkable that you can’t comprehend, the man you love has no recollection of who you are and only remembers one person who isn’t you. Their story is so emotional, heart breaking and you just want to hug them both. Charlotte is heartbroken and doesn’t know what to do, how long do you wait to see if Xander remembers everything they had together? When they are thrown together at work, she has to put everything aside and make it work for both their sakes. Will their time together start to jog his memory? Will Charlotte be able to move past her fears of being hurt again? I absolutely loved this book, this new series by this author is outstanding! I’m so invested in these characters that I’m so excited to read the next book in the series. Bravo Maggie Cole, Bravo!!

Great!

This is book 2 in the It’s Complicated series.. In this book. Charlotte is still recovering from the car wreck she had with Xander, and trying to get over him. Xander is still trying to regain all of the memories he lost because of the accident. Both are trying to get on with their lives. When Charlotte returns to work, she walked into the surgery room, not knowing Xander will be there. Her heart hurts seeing him, but she doesn’t say anything to him. When Xander sees her come in, he knows she’s the faceless woman he’s be dreaming about for months. But he can tell he still has feeling for her, but she doesn’t want to be hurt any worse.

This was a great book. Charlotte is a strong, wonderful character. She overcomes her childhood, growing up the way she did, and is still a positive happy person. Xander is a strong character also. He puts himself through med school working as a paramedic. You can tell they love each other. I was drawn into this book from page one. It keeps you interested through the entire book. I definitely recommend this book. And series.

The ending of Crossing The Line leads into this second novel, in which we learn that Xander has suffered from a car accident, and no longer remembers his life or the woman he currently loves. While Charlotte is heartbroken, she does give Xander the space to work through his feelings.

The beginning of this story introduces the confusion that Xander is going through. He remembers ex girlfriend Billie from 12 years ago, but he also has visions of a faceless, nameless woman and feels intense emotions for her. This conflict confuses him, and as he starts to build a relationship (again) with Charlotte, he struggles with the memories of the past and what is happening in the present. Charlotte shows she is a strong woman, overcoming a tough and lonely past, which makes her work even harder for the happy ending she should have with Xander. Their time together after the accident forces them to reconnect, relearn, and remind each other of why they fell in love.

This is a fabulous book that took me through all the feels. Such emotion in this story. You will fall in love with all these characters...Maggie Cole has a way of doing that. This is the 2nd book in the It's Complicated Series. Xander and Charlotte are just starting their whirlwind love affair....till a terrible accident. Then Xander cannot remember the last 12 years and Charlotte has no choice but to try to forget him.....but can she? This book was amazing....it had just the right amount of push and pull. Xander does not want to hurt Charolotte, but Charlotte cannot forget Xander. You have to get this book! It is so great. I cannot wait till Committed to You is released....this is an amazing series. Thank you Maggie Cole!

Charlotte is an orthopedic medical device representative. She advises doctors on which medical device to use during surgical operations. Charlotte was in a car accident and broke her foot. She was in a cast/walking boot for six months and not able to work.

Xander is an orthopedic surgeon who used to be a paramedic. He listened to his best friend Noah and invested his money, now he is a self-made billionaire. Xander was in a car accident and hit his head on the steering wheel. He doesn't remember the last twelve years and thinks he is still in love with his ex girlfriend Billie.

You get heartache, threats and a few surprises you won't see coming. I'm looking forward to the next. book in this series.

’Don’t forget, I love you, Charlotte,’ you told me.
Then I said, ’I won’t. Don’t forget, you love me.’
But then you forgot me. ❞

A sweet second-chance romance about letting go of the past, and appreciating what’s been right in front of you the entire time.

This story wasn’t what I expected, but I still enjoyed it. I thought that it was going to be similar to The Vow, based off of the synopsis.

The story I was expecting was:

The hero has been in a long term relationship with the heroine, but then they get into a car accident that leaves the hero with no recollection of the past 12 years of his life. In his mind, he’s twenty-two and in a relationship with the girl he loves and plans to marry. When his friends inform him they broke up a decade ago, he’s left confused and frustrated because his mind insists he still loves her. This causes him to dismiss the life he built with the heroine, and push the heroine away, so that he can fix his relationship with his ex. But when he finally gets his memories back, he realizes that he pushed away the woman he really loves in the present, for a ghost from his past.

The story I got:

The hero had been in a long distance relationship with the heroine for three months, until they got into a car accident that leaves the hero with no recollection of the past 12 years of his life. He wakes up from his coma thinking he’s twenty-two and in a relationship with the girl he loves and plans to marry, only for his friends to inform him that they broke up a decade ago. He can’t understand why they would break up, and proceeds to spend the next six months obsessively searching for her, unaware that he was already in a relationship with the heroine.

I almost left this as a DNF, when I realized that the previous relationship between the hero and heroine was only three months old, instead of something long-term. I was skeptical as to how the author would manage to develop such a strong connection, in such a short amount of time, that would insight the heartache of a love forgotten. Thankfully, I stuck with the story, because Cole did manage to make the rather short relationship work with the conflict.

Fantastic Story & Narration🎧 Gripping & Emotional!
Forgotten by the Billionaire
It's Complicated, Book 2
By: Maggie Cole
Narrated by: Stephanie Nemeth Parker, Zachary Johnson

Maggie Cole continues to wow me with another fabulous novel set in her “It’s Complicated” series, a series of interconnected standalone novels, each one featuring different lead characters, some who overlap into each other’s books. This second book is Xander and Charlotte’s story, they met thru mutual friends and immediately hit it off. Except a car accident but an end to their budding relationship when Xander’s head injury has him forgetting the last twelve years of his life, and he thinks he is still with the love of his life, Billie and has no memory of Charlotte, which breaks her heart. And to make it even harder, Xander was planning to move to Chicago and had applied for a position in the same hospital where she works and starts working there after he recovers from his injuries. A heartbroken Charlotte has to not only see him, but work with him, too. The two hit is off again but Xander still feels like he is with Billie, despite not seeing her around and his friends telling him he isn’t, he just can’t get her out of his heart and Charlotte takes his rejection to heart and does not want to compete with a memory, but she continue to be drawn to him like a moth to a flame. Will his memory come back, will he be able to move past his own memory, and what happens when it all comes to a head? And to complicate things even further is Charlotte’s ex and coworker. I loved how everything played out in this wonderfully plotted story, there is plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, and a steamy romance. Maggie Cole, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Maggie Cole always casts the best narrators to bring her characters and story to life. Stephanie Nemeth Parker and Zachary Johnson did an exceptional job portraying these characters, humanizing them with emotions and giving them voices that fit their characters persona with perfection. Parker nailed it as Charlotte, grasped every side of her personality, her wit, strength, as well as her vulnerabilities and heartache. Johnson did the same for Xander, capturing his struggle to remember and determination to make things right. Both were great at performing the roles of the secondary characters as well, giving each their own distinct voice, making it easy to follow and tell who is who. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

Forgotten by the Billionaire
It's Complicated, Book 2
By: Maggie Cole
Narrated by: Stephanie Nemeth Parker, Zachary Johnson

Maggie Cole! I love your dark, mafia romances but this story has shown me just how versatile you are! This contemporary romance grabbed my heart and did not let go! Xander has taken a new job in Chicago, the newest surgeon as he starts over and still is in search of his fiance. When he enters the operating room, he hears the voice in his dreams. Charlotte and Xander were together, but since the accident that stole Xander's memory and their future, she has been healing and trying to move on. But now, working together, and glimpses of the past, will these two find their way back to each other? Sweet, spicy, and all around fun, this story had me from the first chapter. Xander is a warm and passionate man, and it is easy to sympathize and understand him. Charlotte is so understanding, and her love is steadfast. But is it all enough? Cole gives us a story that is easy to hear, characters that are engaging and a story that warms the heart.

Enhancing his story is the fabulous narration team. Zachary Johnson is amazing, bringing Xander warmth, frustration and love. Stephanie Nemeth-Parker falls into character as Charlotte. Her pain is evident and her love shines through it all just with the nuances used. It's a fantastic performance and one that everyone will enjoy.

After being in an accident, Xander has amnesia. He cannot remember the woman he loves but only remembers the one he used to love when he was young (Billie) . But he realiz especially that the girl in his dreams is not Billie but someone else.

The story is emotional, romantic and dramatic with twists. Chemistry between the characters is incredible and they are just perfect for each other. The story keeps on switching from past to present revealing, but by bit, what happened to them before and after the accident. The book is absorbing, easy to read and the characters will just make the readers fall in love with them.

Personal Take:
At first, I thought it would be like some kind of a soap opera and would be predictable and mind-numbing, but this book didn't let me down. It was an emotional yet a heart warming story. I just loved both the characters so much.

Listen, it's not everyday you stumble into amnesia trope romance book. So I immediately dig into this book and try.. Like really really try to love this book, but I just can't.

I don't understand Charlotte's job. Yes, sometimes medical representation need to demonstrate of using medical device they represented, but I don't think they need to be in OR all the time. They usually just do it once for each doctor then back to sale their product to another doctor/hospital. Plus Charlotte never seems to deal with company conference to update knowledge of medical representation. She's med rep, not an OR nurse FFS.

This problem aside (that I willing to ignore, because yes, amnesia trope!), the romance between them is just.. awkward. I mean, the chemistry is big, yes, but the romance itself. For someone who claimed to be hurt for 6 months, Charlotte is too nice. Xander, on the other hand, deal with the chemistry weird way. I just.. I don't know. Not impressed.
