He’s doing everything possible to move me out of it.
He's the living embodiment of the billionaire playboy—richer than God, sexy as sin, and charming as hell.
With a full calendar of friends-with-benefits.
His strict no-relationships policy means I’d be another notch on his bedpost.
Not happening.
But our friendship is hard to keep.
Every innocent touch leads to more cravings we can’t deny.
He claims he just has to show me how good we can be together.
I almost cave until I realize what’s happening.
So I force him to make a choice.
But Chase’s “harmless” past runs deeper than I could ever imagine.
So deep it’s deadly.

Oh, this book. It really hit some emotional buttons. 💙😢 🤗❤️ I expected Chase to have some soft spots, especially when it came to Vivian, but he really steps up.
I love when Chase takes a moment to really evaluate how he's leading his personal life and the potential impact it's having on those around him. Oh, the responses he gets from some of his texts and calls are hilarious! I also love the man-to-man talks he has with Vivian's dad and how he doesn't back down from those hard conversations.
Things get crazy, friends make their opinions known, there's drama in the wings, and someone truly loses their marbles. There's plenty to love and it kept me hooked!
I received an author's copy of the audio book. The narrators are favorites of mine, Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross. They were really good choices for these characters.
Okay I was too harsh before. It’s not the worst book that I’ve read. There are a lot of mistakes, plot and spelling mistakes.
I really wasn’t expecting that!!! I did manage to finish it finally but it’s really badly written. Plots that don’t make sense, plots that are totally different to other books, with the same characters, spelling mistakes, and really clunky writing that doesn’t flow. What a shame as I wanted to read the whole series.
Vivian is in love with Chase. But Chase has friends with benefits on different days of the week, and won’t commit to one woman. She tries to stay away from him but he won’t leave her alone. He climbs into bed with her when he comes around to her house uninvited, and she can’t move on from him. He isn’t a good person. Sorry I know he was cheated on by his girlfriend and his best mate, but that doesn’t mean you get to treat women like that!!! 😡😡😡
I found it a bit creepy that she lets him in and he gets into bed with her nearly naked!!! Is he a stalker that won’t accept no??? When Vivian finally snaps and tells him he’s a user he realises what he’s been doing is wrong, and some of his ‘friends’ have been hurt by him. They start dating and everything is great till he tells Miss Thursday that he can’t see her anymore.
Miss Thursday is Meredith who he only ever saw on a Thursday as she was getting clingy with him. This is where it loses me. He claims he hasn’t seen her for months or had sex with her in months. So why does she go nuts and start stalking them both? If she was so obsessed with him, she would have been stalking him for months! It didn’t add up!
Throughout Anna and Dmitri’s book, Chase bought the penthouse with an extra annex for Anna, his sister. To get her away from her boyfriend. In this book he’s buying it for Jamison his friend to have somewhere to stay. No mention of Anna, at all!!! It’s like he hasn’t even got a sister, or she’s been written in as a way of having another book.
I really didn’t enjoy this book. Sorry. After reading the Russian mafia books, which I loved, I was expecting more from this series.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
The issue with these short, random KU reads for me is that I have already forgotten what this book is about - and now I am not sure if it was the book or me.
Ah well … let’s try summarizing my thoughts.
After an ok experience with Book 2 (https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...), I am not sure why I decided to pick up this book. Possibly because my Kindle kept recommending it.
Thankfully - this was a better experience than the other book but again suffered from some odd plotting choices. The plot was a romance between Chase, our hero, who is a playboy with the heart of gold - you know the type, the guy who is a player because of a betrayal in his past etc. Thankfully, he didn’t come across as an ass - more as commitment shy. Of course, this general niceness on his part also robbed the book of much angst as I sort of got where he was coming from; but you can’t have everything.
Our heroine was more plain white bread to be honest - 4 days later I don't remember her much except that she was into Chase.
Still, the romance was fine when about halfway through it took a left turn into romantic suspense territory. This could have worked except that the change was very abrupt. It felt like two different books mashed together.
I would generally rate this a 2.5 average for that reason. I finished it and the writing was pleasant but the book had a little bit of an identity crisis. I do think if you got into it kind of expecting a twist you might enjoy it more.
I am not sure I will pick up more in this series but I might give the author another go when next my Kindle commands.
Dnf at 26% I can’t do this to myself, it’s so awful. So far it’s a constant stream of Vivian basically calling Chase a dirt bag, him asking her if she really means it and her saying no. Nothing so far means anything and all the conversations are meaningless
My Friend the Billionaire by Maggie Cole is a friends-to-lovers billionaire romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott. This is the third book in the It's Complicated series and can be read as a stand-alone.
I absolutely love Maggie's books! She does an amazing job pulling me into the story. I loved the relationship that bloomed between Chase and Vivian. It was messy but I couldn't help but root for them. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
I can't wait to dive into the next book in the series Forbidden Billionaire so I can get Jamison and Quinn's story.
Wen and Kai did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you like billionaire romances, friends-to-lovers romances, contemporary romances or romantic suspense.
Seeing a trend with this series, there are some flashback moments, going back to when Xander and Charlotte were in the accident and then forward to let us know what happened up to the present. Just like with Xander and Charlotte, we could feel the chemistry between Chase and Vivian. Nothing like your friends hooking up to bring you together. Throughout the months Chase and Vivian have been getting closer together, they haven't crossed that line, not from lack of trying on Chase's part, but Vivian is only looking for someone to actually have a relationship with, and Chase is all about just being friends with benefits. Things actually takes a turn for the worse when Vivian just happens to be there when Thursday's girl shows up, from that experience Vivian had all the proof she needed. But every time she would push Chase away, he would somehow reel her back in again. Vivian knows that Chase is her weakness but she had to figure out how to stay strong and not fall for his puppy dog eyes. When Chase realizes just what he is losing, he takes a hard look at what his life has become. Will it be too late for Chase to get Vivian to see that he is willing to change his ways for her, that he actually had already changed them all along?
Another great story from Maggie Cole, this series just sort of sucks you in and you can't wait to see what happens with everyone. I do suggest reading the previous books, they just make this a better read. With drama, danger, a few hot naughty bits, this was a really nice read and it gets 4 stars.
Love, love, loved Vivian and Chase! For this being the third book in this series we already know Chase and Vivian and their “non-relationship”. Chase is the player, no strings, no commitment, but when he met Vivian, there was something more than lust or want for him and he’s not quite sure what to do with it. Vivian is successful, smart, gorgeous and is not going to be another notch on Chase’s belt. Chase has baggage, but he can’t let that stop him from being with the one person he actually wants to be with. Can a player return to his roots and prove to Vivian that he’s worthy of her love? Their story is emotional and their story is intertwined with their friends' lives as well. I guess you will need to read for yourself! I found this book on BookSprout.
What can I say, I love the build up in this book. Vivian is a strong woman who knows what she wants. She wasn’t going to let Chase get his way. She wanted to be his and not just some flavor of the week. What she didn’t know was that he had been hurt in the past and was not looking to settle down. Could they make it work? Will love ever win?
Honestly I don’t know how she keeps doing it! Maggie Cole knocks it out of the park yet again with the 3rd book in her second series “It’s Complicated”. The way she tells the characters stories and ties everything together leaves the read hanging on her every word!!
Fantastic Story & Listen🎧 Captivating & Heartfelt!
My Friend the Billionaire A Friends to Lovers Billionaire Romance (It's Complicated Book 3) By: Maggie Cole Narrated by: Wen Ross, Kai Kennicott
This fabulous “Friends to Lovers” romance is amazing, it not only grabbed and captivated my attention the entire book but tugged on my heartstrings too. I am a huge fan of Maggie Cole’s mafia series and it is great to see another side of her creative mind and she masters this trope, billionaire romance, as well as mafia romance. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they are easy to care about too. Chase Monroe was all set to make his girlfriend his wife, he worked hard to save up for a ring to surprise her with but the only one surprised was him, catching her in their bed with his best friend. That betrayal changed the course of his life, in business and with his thoughts about relationships, and will never give his heart to another again. Being a player and having friends with benefit arrangements is more than enough for him. Vivian Caras does not want to be another notch on Chase’s belt or a day of the week for him like some of his other women, so it is best they just maintain their platonic relationship despite the chemistry between them. It may be an uphill battle, but Chase does not give up on her and the two soon find it gets harder and harder to deny themselves the passion. Chase needs to let go of his past and his hurt before he can move forward to fall in love and most of all trust again. I loved that Vivian, a strong, independent woman, stood up for what she believed in and did not settle. Just when they are finally getting to a good place his past comes back to haunt him, his not so distance past and her name is Meredith, aka Ms. Thursday. This fabulously plotted story has plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, thrilling and suspenseful moment and a steamy romance. Maggie Cole, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧 📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross are talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They have a complete understanding of the characters they are portraying, give them their own voices and personality, making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. They set the perfect tone for the story, capture all the characters’ emotions and project them into their performance, having you feel every single one. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhances an already great story to another level. Thank you for another fabulous listen.
My Friend the Billionaire A Friends to Lovers Billionaire Romance (It's Complicated Book 3) By: Maggie Cole Narrated by: Wen Ross, Kai Kennicott
Maggie Cole continues her It's Complicated series with a couple that is fun to get to know and easy to root for! This friends to lovers romance is sweet and spicy and checks all the right boxes! Max was hurt. Ready to get engaged, he found out his girlfriend was cheating on him in the worst of ways. Never falling into that trap again, he is having no strings attached flings, being up front and honest with what he wants. Vivian has feelings for this man, but refuses to be just another day of the week. The thought he can't get her, is driving him mad though. Or is it that he has real feelings for her? The two are good friends, and their banter is fun and definite foreplay. But will it ever come to fruition? Will Max ever be able to get over his hurt and realize what he could have? Vivian is quite the woman. Self made, she is determined to make a difference in the world. I love that she stands up for what she believes in and will not be taken advantage of. Max is sweet, and his gestures are real and romantic. Cole continues to show me her amazing versatility with these billionaire romances and I am loving it! Keep them coming!
Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott are a favorite team of mine, and I was thrilled to see they were narrating this one. Ross plays the alpha billionaire perfectly, and he can show his fragile heart with emotion and love. Kennicott as Vivian gives us the strength of her resolve, and I love that I could feel the conflict since her love for Max is so strong. It's the perfect casting for this story and a joy to listen.
Committed to you- A single requirement to make a relationship viable. The hearts immediately commit and connect when Chase and Vivian meet. The head tries to reason true commitment cannot happen as it is looking through a filter of what past hurt has created. Chase was betrayed by love - therefore causing him to doubt commitment and set boundaries. Until Vivian comes in to his life. Then he begins to realize just what he has been doing for 8 years - hurting others and himself. Vivian doesn’t want to be a day of the week or a number to him even as her love grows. Chase never considers that a possibility - unless she will be his every day of the year as Vivian is in his “number one spot” Maggie Cole works her magic again - as the characters realize their soul mate has been found. Their friends help with support, humor, and the occasional needed ass-kicking. When Chase’s past tries to throw roadblocks will commitment win? Read this great book to find out. This third book in the It’s Complicated series will further endear you to the characters and stories plus make you excited for the fourth and final book in the series - “More Than Paper”. Sometimes when you go through betrayal you end up jaded. You put up walls and barriers around your heart so you dont get hurt again. In Maggie Cole's It's Complicated series the third instalment Committed To You that's exactly what Chase Monroe does. Chase has had these wall up for the past 8 years. Since the unforgettable day he walked in on his future fiance and best friend. Since that day he vowed to himself he would never get hurt again. But what happens when you finally find that one person where it's instant chemistry and the bond begins. That's exactly what happens with Chase and Vivian. A relationship that begins with a flirty chemistry turn sour real quick when Vivian realizes Chase isnt a relationship kind of guy but a friends with benefits type of guy. Vivian's assumptions about Chases "girl of the day" makes her put her foot down that she will not be on rotation. And oblivious to the real damage Chase is leaving behind with his so-called casual relationships really creates problems for him when he decides he wants more. Throughout the book Maggie Cole takes you on this emotional yet desired filled story Where these characters find themselves trying to sort out if the risk of bringing down their walls and reservations is too complicated or if it's worth the reward.

This is book 3 in the It’s Complicated series. Vivian is a woman that wants a committed relationship. Chase gave up on relationships years ago and now, only has friends with benefits. But when the two meet, there is an instant attraction. They feel the connection to each other. But Vivian can’t get past Chases, only sexual relationship motto. She knows if she give in to her desires for him. She is bound to get hurt. She doesn’t want to be another number or day of the week. Chase has never felt for anyone, what he feels for Vivian. And he wants her. But she wants more that just sex.
This was an incredible book. From page one, I was drawn in. You meet these two in the previous two books, and see their relationship start to form. Vivian is a smart strong character. She makes something of herself. And Chase, has been hurt in that last and that’s why he’s the way he is, but you hope he redeems himself and they can have a happily ever after. This book was wonderfully written and holds onto you throughout. I read it in a few hours. I definitely recommend this book.
I can't decide what I feel about this book. I probably should just tap my # of stars choice and be done. But I must admit that I did not like or understand what was so unbelievable and wrong with a single guy with sexual partners. He was not hiding who he was from ANYBODY, and was a good guy. He took amazing care of Vivian and was nice to her so constantly. She flirted with him, put herself in intimate situations with him, quickly right after they met. Was essentially naked around him in many instances, but commented that she wouldn't be "one of his girls". Just so irritating to me in so many levels. But just like the other guys in the 2 stories before, I loved Chase. Just irritated with the ladies in these stories who whine and complain and bitch about getting their own way within a day of meeting these guys. I keep reading because the irritation aspects don't last throughout the whole book, and the other parts are decent. The physical aspect between the couples, though, is very good and well written.
There seems to always be one relationship in your past that influences what you think of future romances. For Chase, this moment is when he finds his best friend and his future fiancé together. This scene is what begins the novel, and after such a betrayal, you see how and why Chase prevents himself from getting close to another woman again. Opening himself up will only let in more pain, so Chase opts to live the life of a playboy bachelor.
Many women have the secret fantasy of being the one who changes the player/bad boy. However, no one can really change except the person himself, since changing for someone else will only lead to resentment. Chase's growth throughout the story is a testament to him letting go of the past, learning to trust again, and having faith in someone to take care of his heart. For her part, Vivian has gone through a rough childhood, so her desire is to have security is understandable. However, Vivian has to decide if attraction and passion can override a deep seated need for stability, or if she can find a way to have both in Chase.
Chase is a successful businessman and a player of epic proportions. After having his heart ripped out when he found his best friend in bed with his girlfriend he vow to never to fall in love again. FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS Only!
When Chase meets Vivian, a successful real estate agent with a heart of gold, he is consumed with the feeling of wanting more. Wait, he swore he was done with MORE! Vivian is immune to swagger and charm. Chase is determined to win her over but he must be careful. Vivian is best friends with Charlotte and Piper, Chase's best friends Noah and Xander's girlfriends.
Chase has decided to change is ways in order to win Vivian back but his past indiscretions are coming back to haunt him and put Vivian in danger. Can Chase prove to Vivian that he is the man she needs? Can Chase protect Vivian from his past?
Once you start reading you will not be able to stop!
Chase, a broken-hearted man turned playboy takes a journey of self discovery in this rousing romance. Enter Vivian, an intelligent, resourceful, Greek goddess of beauty who steals his breath away. She’s a no-nonsense woman who refuses to be just another one of his “girls” and demands more from him. This story is very moving in all the right ways. The characters are strong, interesting and fun to read. There is also some exciting and intense drama, as always in a Maggie Cole book, that gives the reader some thrilling, nail-biting moments. Chase & Vivian’s romance is dramatic, gripping, emotionally charged, Love-inspiring and full of passion. It’s a true feel good read and one you don’t want to miss. As an added bonus the other characters from the “It’s Complicated” series are an integral part this novel and add a deeper connection to the core of the story. Highly recommended read. Another great one Maggie Cole‼️
I am reading this series of Russian brothers and this is like a spinoff. Chase is the brother of Anna, who is with Dimitri. That’s why I took the chance to read this book. I enjoyed the story and cast of characters. Once the author switched to making Chase out to be this bad person close to the end of the book, I didn’t even want to finish reading. Now Chase was betrayed by his fiancée and BFF which made him avoid serious relationships. Then he met Vivían and he wanted to make her number one. You get the jest of this story. However when the conflict comes to a head all of a sudden Chase out of the blue becomes the bad guy whilst it is actually the conflict that is truly the bad. I am like what happened to the original book that I was reading? No one calls someone that the hooked up with months ago and says I am sorry that our hook up was just physical. So Disappointed!
Committed to You is another rollercoaster of raw emotion and heat brought to you by Maggie Cole. The word committed means feeling dedication and loyalty to a cause, activity, or job; wholeheartedly dedicated. We all want that in our lives, but so many fail to hold onto their ideals to receive it. If you love a strong heroine, then meet Vivian. Not only is she a successful real estate agent, but she’s also a philanthropist to those in need of a safe place to live and raise a family. In walks Chase, an insanely wealthy, hot playboy who wants Vivian desperately, but she’s not willing to be another day of the week in his parade of women. Let’s face it, most of us would cave. Yet, Vivian’s high standards will only accept the love of a man that is completely committed to her. You won’t be able to stop reading, and may we all learn from her story!
Vivian felt attracted to him the first time she met him at the hospital. But she knows now, that he is a player. She is determined to not be a girl on his list. Just as she is about to give up her hope, Chase surprises her.
The story is sweet, romantic, dreamy, with a little bit of angst and lots of drama. The characters are adorable that will make the readers love the story. The story moves fast and keeps switching from past to present in the beginning to make the readers understand how the characters met and liked each other. It becomes quite predictable and its a bit rushed. Nevertheless it a highly recommended book for readers who like to read romance.
Personal Take: After reading the previous books, I was kind of excited for this one. I liked the plot and the characters a lot but I really felt that the story was too rushed and there was scope for more drama.
Chase was betrayed by his ex girlfriend and best friend. He now has a schedule of girls who he sleeps with. He listened to Noah and invested in companies which have made him a lot of money. Chase is a billionaire and has a lot of real estate properties in New York. He is also part owner of Vital Services with Jamison and a few other investors. They are looking to expand in Chicago and set it up as their hub.
Vivian is a real estate agent in Chicago and has also spearheaded the Urban Rehab Initiative. She is responsible for creating housing for over three thousand families which also included over five hundred families who were homeless.
The storyline was well written, kept me engrossed. They deal with a crazy psycho ex, a kidnapping, threats and manipulation. Chase and Vivian have undeniable chemistry that they both try to hold back and keep in the friend zone.
Maggie Cole has put together a story with romance, intrigue, and a little adventure. The story is good but I don't like that the whole series is almost predictable from the first story in the series. Each book seems to go back to cover things that happened in the previous books.... I really don't like how repetitive it is.... I think that is why I tried waiting a couple months to read this one but it didn't really matter... I remember the stories and get a little bored covering old ground. I also find it strange that her entire friend set falls for his entire friend set... Just kinda too fantasy. The story is good though especially if you haven't read the entire series. If you have read the series you'll get to revisit several past events through memories or present parts of the story because in this series their stories are intertwined.
I hated Chase in the beginning of the book. Not because of the hospital scene in book 1 and not because of his “playboy ways” but because of his lack of respect of boundaries. This was my 2nd time reading this book and I wanted to throw my kindle I was so mad at him. He is selfish. He keeps pushing Vivian because of what he wanted, he didn’t care about her choices or boundaries. It took Vivian finally going off on him for him to self examine and realize the error of his ways (and boy oh boy did she give him the riot act!). You can really feel his heart break when he realizes what he did but also his quest to fix it and earn her love. He wasn’t arrogant or disrespectful but coming from a place of hurt that no one ever pointed out to him. This book was well written and the plot kept you on your toes.
Committed to You is absolutely fabulous! Being book three of the series, we are already familiar with the characters to some degree. We've met Chase and Vivian on separate occasions, but you feel the heat between them every time they are near each other. But more than just the heat, there is genuine affection, which is something Chase hasn't felt romantically for over 8 years. Sometimes we change too late, though, and our mistakes follow us. So far, this is probably Maggie Cole's most exciting story. You do not want to miss this one, but you also don't want to read it out of order. I can't wait to see how the series comes together in the last book, More Than Paper.

Committed To You is the third installment of the It's Complicated Series by Maggie Cole. The author has done it again! Maggie Cole has a way of weaving a tale that blends romance, suspense, friendship, humor, and plenty of steam. I really like the way Maggie creates strong female heroines, and Vivian is no exception. Also we see an evolution of the characters that keeps the reader interested. The secondary characters add so much to the story. They are not just window dressing. All the characters are well developed. I really enjoyed Committed To You and I highly recommend it.

This book is the 3rd book in the It’s Complicated Series by Maggie Cole! I love Chase and Vivian’s story! Chase is complicated and clearly scared of commitment but Vivian is not gonna get caught up with that till he can give her more. I love how Chase starts to learn more about himself through the course of the book. This book gave all the emotions and feelings. Maggie has such a great talent of pulling you into the story with the characters. If you like realistic romance books with lots of sexy time and a HEA.....This book will not disappoint!
