Fantastic! Anna and Dmitri are amazing together with insane chemistry! 🔥💣💥

Their story breaks your heart before it makes you believe again. *sigh*

Maybe I'm just unlovable.

Maggie Cole It's Complicated bk 06 Secret Mafia Billionaire

I despised Mitch coming into this book, but I absolutely loathe him now. Having witnessed this behavior first-hand (not the recipient), it's heartbreaking on so many levels. 😢 Dmitri may not be a saint, but I love how he looks out for her even before they meet, and then works to unveil the confident woman she was before Mitch.

Having read Mafia Wars first, I knew much of the story. Actually reading (listening to) their entire story was wonderful and it also felt a bit like coming home to so many familiar faces (from this series and MW). 🤗❤

Dmitri is everything I expected and more. His love shines like a beacon in the night and Anna is definitely the ship he safely brings to port. How he addresses Mitch is utterly priceless!

I received an author's copy of the audio book. The narrators are Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross. I love this duo! Russian accents are included and it's wonderful. 😍

The Russians are coming, and I for one, wanna pour vodka over their abs and lick it off! Dimitri is the poster boy for all things sexy. Money? Check. Power? Check. Virility? Check. Danger? Check. But unlike your bad boy past regrets, he’s a keeper! The minute he set eyes on Anna, his paradigm shifted. She became his center. Anna had to come to terms with the ashes of her past and learn to trust that Dimitri was truly her walking, talking fantasy. Their journey is beautiful, and I need.... more... Russians!

Great series to pick up.

Loved everyone of these books. Each has their own story of a different couple.
In this book you meet Dmitri and Anna. If domestic violence is a trigger for you then don't read it as Anna right at the beginning of the book is a victim to this. What I can tell you is her ex gets his comeuppance later in the book, dishes out by Dmitri and his brother. This book leads into the next series which starts with ruthless stranger all of which I have read and I did wonder at the time how Dmitri and Anna got together. Maggie cole is one of those author's who grab you in right from the beginning.

She is intelligent although naive and had a hard time with her ex boyfriend. I liked the way she stood her ground against Dmitri and was a honest communicator.

He is such a green flag of a guy. He treats Anna very well and protects her from any danger. He is rich and kinda powerful.

Hmmm I‘m a little unsure about this book to be honest. I liked the beginning and the way everything starts rolling. The relationship goes on rather quickly which was well done. The plot developed rather strangely and I have mixed feelings about it. Maybe it is my fault cause I expected more of a mafia romance but this clearly wasn‘t one. Dmitri talks and talks and talks about his big and bad secret and that he never can tell Anna cause it is this bad. I thought may he is a mafia boss or some other dangerous shit but his secret was that he worked for the mob in the past. Really? That‘s your secret big guy? Don‘t know I expected more.
In general Anna and Dmitri were a cute couple. She is his number one priority and he treats her like the most important thing in the world while supporting her career (green flag). Both are mature and communicate well which was nice to read. I liked their love story and had fun reading their povs.
Overall this was a good billionaire romance but the plot lacked a bit.

Secret Mafia Billionaire
A Billionaire Romance Love Story/Mafia Twist (It's Complicated, Book 6)
By: Maggie Cole

Maggie Cole pens another amazing novel set in her “It’s Complicated” series, a series of standalone novels with interconnected characters. This is my fourth book and while each book is as amazing and enjoyable as the others, each for their own reason, but this one takes me back to her “Mafia Wars” world, the Ivanovs and great to see her two series worlds merge. Fair to say a great ending to one series and the beginning of another, though it would be great to see more books from both series. This book brings us Anna Monroe, Chase’s sister, and Dmitri Ivanov’s story and wow, what a story it is. It not only captivated your attention from start to end, but it tugs on your heartstrings and takes you to the edge of your seat too. Anna Monroe was with Mitch, who has been a major a-hole throughout the series and his treatment of Anna reflects how big of one he is. He physically and mentally abused her and her brother comes to rescue her from a terrible situation and bring her back with him to Chicago. She needs to start over and she catches a break when Vivian introduces her to Dmitri, who needs a designer for his new buildings. Dmitri remembers Anna, he had seen her in the restaurant when she was with Mitch who was nasty to her. She captured his eye then, and he is even more interested now. He could see her ex did a number on her and her self-esteem, but he made it his business to help build it up again. But will she be able to handle what he is involved in and survive in his world? I loved how everything played out in this brilliantly plotted story, there is plenty of drama, heartfelt emotions, a touch of angst and some steamy romance. Maggie Cole, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧 📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross were the perfect cast to bring these characters and their story to life. They have a complete understanding of the characters they are portraying, give each a voice that suits their character’s persona, accent and all, sounding believable and just as I picture the character to sound. Ross nails it as Dmitri, Russian accent and goes all alpha when called for Kennicott’s Anna was spot on, she grasped her insecurities and built up her confidence when her character strengthened. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance, making you feel every single one. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhances the story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

I have to say ladys Dimitri and Anna has taken the number 1 spot as my favorite couple in this series. Maggie has definitely out did herself once again with Wrapped In Perfection! Dimitri is a sexy, sweet, loving, alpha Russian with a twist! Anna is a loving, cute, outgoing woman!

The cemetery these too have is out of this world. Anna went through hell in her last relationship and wasn't sure if she could trust another man, Anna felt like she wasn't worth anything and her self-esteem was low and her heart was broken. Dimitri came into her life and made her feel wanted, sexy, strong, and helped her bring her self-esteem back up. Dimitri and his brothers helped her feel like a  Phenomenal strong women. They helped her business go to the top in there community and on. If you are wanting a book with all the feels and have your tablets on fire with the very sexy alpha moments in the shower, bedroom and many other places this is definitely the book you NEED!!

A beautiful story of growth and love

I am reading about the Russian brothers and found the Dimitri book was actually first before Maksim. I am glad that I found it. It’s a beautiful story of growth and learning to Love. Anna is a fabulous designer. Unfortunately she has been in a relationship with Mitch, an emotional abusive jerk. He has taken everything away from Anna, her confidence, family, friends, and has made her feel worthless. Anna’s brother Chase had to step in and save Anna from Mitch’s physical abuse. Chase makes Anna leave NYC and move to Chicago with him and his Vivían. Anna is lost. This part makes you want to cry, because Anna actually wants to go back. Vivían helps Anna get counseling and start anew. . . . This is where the journey begins with Anna and Dimitri. . . Read On!

Dmitri and Anna are what sexy dreams are made of! Dmitri is focused and building his empire with his brothers. Anna is trying to put her abusive ex in the past and make a name for herself in the interior designing world. When their worlds collide the chemistry is instant! Dmitri is a sexy Russian with an even sexier accent and Anna is a gorgeous American with just the right amount of sassy to get Dmitri’s heart racing. However, there is a dark and mysterious side of Dmitri and his brothers. Can Anna break down his walls? And if she does, will she run when she sees what’s on the other side? Wrapped In Perfection is book six in the It’s Complicated Series! I could not put this book down. If you like sexy and steamy books with a captivating storyline, then this book is for you!

Wrapped in perfection is the latest installment in Maggie Cole's It's Complicated series and focuses on our heroine Anna who's suffered through domestic abuse, and our hero Dmitri, who's dealing with his own violent past. After a quick meeting at a bar, Anna and Dmitri did not meet again until she was hired as an interior designer for one of his buildings. Their romance starts under the guise of a professional working relationship, but it quickly escalates to them living with each other and giving in to their attraction.

A person can easily feel frustrated about Anna while reading this book, wondering why she stayed so long in a toxic relationship with someone who physically abuses and emotionally trashes her self esteem about her body and her worth. The psychological torment and fear she goes through about stepping a foot wrong in her relationship with her ex gives the reader a glimpse of her fragile state of mind that prevents her from leaving. Only when Anna is forcibly taken away from her violent situation does she then have time to reflect on the abuse she goes through. Dmitri himself is also a complicated character, a rags to riches story with a bit of violence thrown in. He is a self made businessman, but struggles with feeling as if he is unworthy of love based on his past. Both Anna and Dmitri internally wrestle with their feelings of self worth and how to finagle a future where they don't let the past rule their insecurities and influence their actions towards each other.

-I liked that the characters were older. Anna in her 30s and Dmitri in his 40s. As someone in this age range, it resonates with me to read about how people still struggle with insecurities, uncertainty, and questions about the future. Though Anna and Dmitri are pretty established in their careers, they are not romantically settled and have to deal with their own issues (and they have many) before getting involved. They definitely don't sweep their problems to the side, but they each give and take and learn to communicate so they can know about each other's past.
-Toxic relationships are the pits. It can take years of therapy, reflection, and support from family and friends to escape the mindset of inferiority and wondering what went "wrong" in the relationship. I wish that Anna had more closure here with her ex than just simply Dmitri taking care of the problem, but I can understand that it might be more traumatizing for Anna to face off against her abuser.
-Overall, an engaging story about facing your fears, loving freely, and accepting others as they are when they have a past that's negatively shaped them. It takes hope and persistence to craft a future where you can acknowledge the past but have the courage to move forward.

(4 stars)

The last in the It's Complicated series, and this is Anna and Dmitri's story. Dmitri is new to us, but we all know Anna and are aware of issues she has, namely her d-bag ex Mitch. After Chase found her being beaten by said d-bag, Chase made sure that she left New York and moved in with him and Vivian. Now, what we didn't see is in the wedding scene in the previous story, was that Dmitri happened to be in the same place at the same time and that Anna made an impression on him. A few months later, Vivian introduces Dmitri with a new designer for a project and that is none other than Anna. Given a second chance, Dmitri will not let Anna slip through his fingers again.

Holy cow, what a read this turned out to be. An amazing introduction to the Ivanov brothers, and makes you excited that they are getting a spinoff series. This has some super hot naughty bits, and can I just say, I can see Maggie Cole dabbling in some BDSM scenes, these were getting super spicy and I loved it. Of course we get some mafia style stuff, but nothing really too over the top. I give this 4 stars.

“If heaven were served on a silver platter, it would be right now, here in this moment.”

“Separate, we are tainted, our pasts weaved with sorrow. Together, we are whole and unbreakable.”

Maggie Cole has written another passionate and breathtaking whirlwind romance. Her heros and heroines aren’t without their flaws, but they work diligently and together to overcome any obstacle in their path. The passion the characters have for life and each other is invigorating and breath taking.

Anna’s spirit has been beaten down and broken. While faced with a life changing decision she is offered an opportunity to utilize her interior design skills and passion that she cannot afford to let slip throughout fingers.

A single interaction with a breath stealing woman leaves Dmitri wanting to know her intimately. He has a past he can’t escape and knows that she doesn’t come without baggage as well.

WOW. I admit I jumped ahead and skipped the previous 5 books in the Its Complicated series. I wanted to be ready for the Mafia wars spin off.

I am totally in love with Dmitri, and I know Ive said this before about the male leads. He has an alpha personality but with his inner thoughts we see how vulnerable he is. I love that Maggie has her characters a little older. While Dmitri is 43, he has the drive of a younger man and continues to show his vitality.

Anna is battling herself and her own inner demons and turmoil. You wouldn't think these two would pair as well together but they bring out the best in each other despite the drama surrounding them.

Evil in their world threatens, not only their HEA, but their families and loved ones.
I am anxious and excited for all the new things in the next series. This was an amazing read, and even without the previous books I did not feel like I was missing anything.

I read this in just one sitting. This is such an amazing read! This is a lighter mafia romance than you're probably used to, but still, I'm not going to refuse a sweeter mafia romance. Because Dmitri is just that! I am so jealous of Anna (I know this is just fiction, but still) The way Dmitri is with her, he really wrapped her with his love, affection and passion. Their love is really a perfection!

This is a must read! This is a swoon-worthy read!

Wrapped in Perfection is the sixth book in the It's Complicated Series by Maggie Cole. Dimitri and Anna have become my favorite couple in this series and probably in all the books Maggie Cole has written thus far. When Dimitri first meets Anna, his life is changed. The chemistry between Dimitri and Anna is off the charts. I give props to Maggie Cole in creating these two characters who have been through some sort of trauma. As a reader, I understood the choices these characters made. The secondary characters were important to the story. Dimitri and his brothers added a new and wonderful dimension to the series. The pacing was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Wrapped in Perfection will stick with me for a long time. Kudos to Maggie Cole!

Secret Mafia Billionaire by Maggie Cole is a mafia billionaire romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott. This is the sixth book in the It's Complicated series and can be read as a stand-alone.

I absolutely love Maggie's books! She does an amazing job pulling me into the story. I loved the relationship between Dmitri and Anna. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

Wen and Kai did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like billionaire romances, mafia romances, contemporary romances or romantic suspense.

Oh Dmitri!

Having seen Anna at a bar a couple of months prior with her now ex, Dmitri was surprised to have Anna recommended to help on a project that he needed a designer for and hired her on the spot even though she wasn't Russian. While Anna had worked on a few projects in New York, it was nothing compared to the project Dmitri had for her, and her samples were all back in New York with said ex. Dmitri works hard to show Anna that not only does she do good work, but also that he's attracted to her and wants her more than anything. Even going as far as getting her samples and money back from her ex. But in doing this, it gives Anna the confidence to stand up for herself, and she won't stand for secrets any longer and demands to know what Dmitri's involved with, or she'll leave him.

Dmitri and Anna get their happy ending in this standalone book in a series.

This was a great end to this series, but also a great segue into the Mafia Wars Series! I loved how we got to watch Anna bloom from the meek woman who didn't see her own worth or what others saw, and by the end, saw this confident woman who knew her worth and her place in the world and didn't apologize for it. I do wonder what happened to the ex in the end. Did what he did go with him through life, as his former boss knew, and that would have come up in job checks? Did his family find out? I figure Anna never gave him a second thought, but curious minds want to know how long he was punished for.

Maggie Cole story goes into the depths of the mind of Anna who is verbally, psychologically and physically abused by her boyfriend of 5 years. Mitch did a number on her, he was a tyrant , controlling her life in every aspect. She believed his actions towards her was all her fault. How he was keeping her secluded effected her emotionally from family and friends.
Her brother brought her to Chicago from NY to live with him.
Anna was shattered a shell of a person. She had no self esteem left, she felt unworthy, no faith in herself, and always questions her daily activities. She never had choices, Mitch made them all for her.
Dimitri has a dark past, he had his demons, but would never physically or emotionally damage a woman. He treasured Anna, mind body, and soul. He knew he had to be patient with her and get her to trust him. Dimitri was determined to bring out her light. To make her realize she is beautiful, and deserves a man to love her the way she should be. Oh how their sparks fly. Their love is magical, hot and steamy.
Wen Ross and Kai Kennicut narration is perfection. They bring depth to each character. I can feel each moment of emotion, anguish, anger, torment, throughout the story. Thank you for bringing this story to life. I was gifted this audio and offered my honest review.

Another amazing book.

This is the 6th book in the It’s Complicated series. In this book, Anna, has moved to Chicago with her brother Chase, leaving a bad relationship behind in New York. But the man she leaves keeps calling. Then, she meets Dmitri. It’s an instant attraction and heat between them. Anna is afraid. She doesn’t think that anyone would want her, she feels that isn’t attractive enough. Dmitri see Anna, and knows he wants her, but realizes he’s not the man she needs. They both have secrets. Dmitri wonders how Anna will feel once she knows all of his.

This was a amazing book. I was hooked from page one. I loved reading the growth Anna goes through during the progress of this book. She starts out as a scared, battered woman. But because of Dmitri, she heals. They heal each other. This book had it all, drama, laughs, love, and like all of Maggie Coles books, heat galore. I definitely recommend this book. But, if you have experienced domestic violence, this may be a trigger for you. As Anna goes through a lot.

Wrapped in Perfection is the 6th and final book in the It’s Complicated series and Anna and Dmitri did not disappoint!

I am sad that this series is over but Wrapped in Perfection is the cherry on the top of the It’s Complicated Sundae! I am so glad that Anna and Dmitri were the last couple in this series and they finished it up so well.

Anna had been through so much but she needed someone in her life that completed it and he was that guy. Now they have their secrets from her family but they work through stuff together and having the trust they do in each other only makes everything better for them. That trust was established from the very beginning and not a lot of couple can say they put themselves out there like that!

Maggie Cole’s writing yet again is brilliant and you should definitely check out this series. And coming soon Dmitri’s brothers are going to have their spin off series and I am looking forward to that!

3 and a half. Just didn’t quite get there for me.

Again, we have a dangerous situation that comes to nothing. Anna is with an abusive man that controls her and beats her. When her brother finds out, he moves her across the country to live with him, and she meets Dimitri.

Dimitri is a sexy dangerous Russian, who again, has conversations with himself all the time! Not as bad as Maksim does but still. Dimitri saves Anna. He tells Anna constantly how beautiful she is and how intelligent she is and I loved it. Very hot sex scenes and really romantic. I just wish that the danger came to something, rather than just fizzling out as it did. Really disappointing.

I still love this series and the Russians are my favourite books in the series, but I wish there was more of a build up in their relationships. He meets her, takes her in a date and she moves in with him. It’s so fast that I missed them being a couple on dates.

MY RATING: 2.5*
TITLE: Wrapped in Perfection
AUTHOR: Maggie Cole
SERIES: N/A
RELEASE DATE: 01 November 2020
CLIFFHANGER: No

While I enjoyed the book in general, it wasn't the best dark book I've ever read. Having said that it wasn't bad. I'm just jaded that a book has to be crazy dark for me to even bat an eyelid.

It wasnt dark enough. But thats just my personal preference to be honest. And it was a bit misleading to imply it was a mafia while the hero wanted nothing to do with the mafia. I dont know

After being forced to flee her whole life in New York, Anna is lost. She struggles with regaining her passions, self image, confidence and so much more.

Enter Dimitri. He is everything Anna’s ex is not.... but he is dangerously complex. He helps her to rediscover her true worth as a powerful woman... and shows her that real, true love is so much more than she ever imagined.

You think you know the person you love until that moment that changes everything. For Anna she was starting over, she is broken in so many ways. Living with a monster day in and day out turns you into a shell of yourself. Meeting Dimitri showed her that she is more, and worthy of love and happiness. Being worshiped like the queen you are and it only took the love of the right man to prove it to her. Their love is truly wrapped in perfection. Great book and I found it on BookSprout.

Maggie Cole has delivered a true gift with Wrapped in Perfection by giving us Anna and Dimtri’s stories.

Anna Monroe and Dimitri Ivanov have a brief crossing when she is in Chicago for a friend’s wedding. The chemistry is true and potent from the first, briefest moment of eye contact. They each remain in the other’s thoughts even though they did not believe they would see each other again.
After two months they cross paths again once she has been rescued by her brother from an abusive boyfriend and moves from New York to Chicago.

Anna feels she is broken and unworthy. Her ex-boyfriend has destroyed her self-esteem - personally and professionally. Dimitri also has a past with dark memories and experiences which influence his thoughts and decisions.

The following two quotes give insight as to how they come to view each other:
“Every second that passes, she lights me up to the point my body is humming against hers.” Dimitri
“In his arms lies security. His body is a temple of safety, and I want to worship it over and over.” Anna

Dimitri sees the true wonder of Anna -beautiful, intelligent, impressive business owner, and loving. Anna sees the true wonder of Dimitri - handsome, intelligent, loving, and protective.

Together they make the following true:
“Separate, we are tainted, our pasts weaved with sorrow. Together, we are while and unbreakable”..

Wrapped in Perfection is the sixth book in the It’s Complicated series. Each book is a stand-alone and Maggie cole seamlessly interweaves the characters and their stories. Anna has been in a bad relationship for five years and she doesn't know what to do but think it's all her fault. Her boyfriend hates her job and controls every aspect of her life. When she meets Dmitri she thinks it's a one-off and she'll never see him again after he tells off her boyfriend.

When her boyfriend takes it too far again, her brother brings her to live with him until she can get her feet under her again. Her sister-in-law hooks her up with a huge project that could set off her career in Chicago. She doesn't expect to come face-to-face with Dmitri again or for her to be working with him.

I really enjoyed this story. I liked how as Anna slowly started working through her trauma that Dmitri's problems became more of the focal point of the story. I enjoyed how Anna made growth and I think if you've even been in an abusive relationship before, you're always waiting to mess up another relationship because you don't trust yourself anymore. I enjoyed how I could tell early on that Anna trusted Dmitri even if she didn' realize it, because she would push boundaries and ask him questions and didn't feel afraid to ask him. I enjoyed the realism of her growth and how she was always hesitant to both lean on Dmitri and not leave on it.

Dmitri's story was a bit more complicated with Russian mob ties and murder and things, but I don't want to write any spoilers.

I enjoyed this story a lot. I think the story had great pacing and amazing character growth. I'm excited to see where this series goes next and if they were able to take down the bad guys.

Secret Mafia Billionaire
It's Complicated, Book 6
By: Maggie Cole
Narrated by: Wen Ross, Kai Kennicott

I cannot even begin to tell you how much fun this listen is! If you have had the chance to enjoy Maggie Cole's Mafia Wars, then you too will find this one like coming home! This story features Anna who we have met before. She is Chase's sister and in an abusive relationship. Not only is she battered physically, but her insecurities are high. Now living in Chicago, she is forging her own path. She is recommended to do an interior decorating job and who should it be for? Dmitri Ivanov whom she had bumped into once before. Their attraction is palpable, and he is determined to help her heal. Not only are we in touch with the Ivanov's(I love Boris, he is my favorite), but the Rossi's and Gallagher's also make appearances in this story. It's action packed, swoony and a listen that will make you smile. The perfect mix of suspense and romance.

Bringing all the accents to the table are Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross. These two have previously narrated several of the characters we meet in this book, and are a perfect fit for Anna and Dmitri. Their chemistry is evident and spills over into their narration making this story flow with passion and love. At the same time, they are both masters at keeping the action suspenseful! Loved this one, it just may be my favorite of the series!
