He’s a wanderer battling his own demons… She’s the woman he saves along the way.
I hear her screaming. That’s all I remember.
I simply act after that, bust down the door and what I find sends me right into punches, a red haze of fury I can’t see past until the job is done. The filth is on the floor, the assailant bloody and beaten, and at his feet, the girl he almost stole everything from.
She’s scared at first, naturally, but then she trusts me, becomes my companion through miles upon miles of road and, eventually, a confidant. I feel like she’s almost running with me, than to California where she actually wants to go. I know I’ve been running for a long time, from family, explanations. I have my own reasons, but I don’t know hers—Alexa. She’s keeping just as much from me as I am from her and I have a feeling…
Her reasons may be way worse than mine.

The next brother to be written about in the Found By You series is Brody Chandler, older brother to Griffin. Brody has changed professions and is now a truck driver. He stopped at a diner, and encountered a woman named ALexa who has fallen on hard times. She was desperate for money and agreed to do something she never would have done in the past, which is when Brody saves her. He offers her a ride and this starts their friendship/relationship. Alexa has demons from her past and is trying to deal with them and help her nephew at the same time. Brody has his own problems with sort of withdrawing from his family and keeping a secret from them. Will Brody be able to help Alexa overcome her past and will Alexa persuade Brody to open up to his family? Will they eventually be able to have a relationship?
I liked how Brody and Alexa met and how he wanted to help her. It shows how good of a person he is. I also liked being able to see the Chandler family. They are loving, caring, and welcome outsiders without suspicion. I love how every character who meets that family feels like they belong and can always go to the for advise.
I was looking forward to reading Brody's story ever since being introduced to him in Griffin and Roxie's story, but I didn't love his story. I think my problem was that I had trouble connecting with the characters. Although I sympathized with Alexa, I couldn't feel her turmoil and emotions inside her. I also had trouble with her decision making. The same could be said with Brody. I understood why he kept his secret my his family, but he should have known he didn't need to. It just caused a sort of rift or withdrawal from his family. When reading a book, I like to be able to feel the emotions with the characters as it happens with them, and I could not do that with this book. I liked how Alexa and Brody got their happily ever after, but I wish there was more to it at the end of the book. I also felt like there were unanswered questions and a few things missing from the end of the story.
The author did state in her reader group on Facebook that we will be seeing more of Brody and Alexa in another character's book later in the series. Although I did not enjoy this book as much as the other ones in the series, I do recommend reading it if you love the Chandler family as much as I do. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
I was actually going to skip this one and go to the next cause I loved Griffin and Roxie, but I'm so glad I didn't. BRODY 😭 IS THE BEST. Love him 💓💓💓 The way he protected Alex and the way they cared and loved one another. Loved them both. There was a little scene with an OW but nothing really happened. (It was a brief scene, with nothing really happening but ow scenes bother me regardless) Also i did think the action at the end was very anti climactic, however the found family and both the H and h, overshadowed that, so loved it. ❤️❤️❤️
****ARC Received In Exchange for An Honest Review**** I would like to start by first saying thank you to Victoria for allowing me to have the opportunity to receive and ARC to read and review.
Brody is the third book in the Found by You series; however, this story can probably be considered a standalone, since you didn’t necessarily have to read Found by You or Loved by You to understand the most of the key events in the story. Although, there are a couple of events that occur in Loved by You that may help understand some of Brody’s actions in this story (which I won’t give away :)).
Brody begins with the titular character making a routine stop on one of his routes as a truck driver and intervenes when a young woman, Alex, is about to assaulted. Alex is strapped for cash but is doing everything she can to travel westward and after Brody saves her; he offers to take her for a part of the way. The novel follows their journey west and the relationship that builds between them during their time together.
While I enjoyed the previous two books in the series and the central pair in those, I had a hard time connecting with Brody and Alex in this one, and as a result, had a hard time feeling the chemistry between the pair. For some reason, they didn’t come off to me as in love with each other and I don’t think I would’ve known what they were feeling for one another was actually love without the switching POVs of the characters saying how much they loved the other person. I understand the attraction, Brody’s a good looking guy and Alex is a good looking girl that just happened on unfortunate circumstances and they’re both genuinely good people, but I failed to feel that instant, deep connection they had.
In addition, I felt like the story was beginning to drag a bit towards the middle and then sped up immensely at the end; however, it still held my attention overall from the beginning to the end and I am looking forward to reading the continuation of their story in the future.
DNF at 46%... I am not sure if I needed to read the other books first ( I know it was stated that this could be read as a standalone) but I could not get into this book at all. It was so much going on in the beginning... which is always great to start to the book with some drama... you know to draw the readers in but then it seemed like insta love... in the span of a few hour... I couldn't tell if they had been on the road for a few days or hours in the beginning.. and if it was in fact just a under 48 hrs... that would have threw me off even more.
This girl is some of everything and is a mess and it seems like Brody is this saving grace but is a mess also..(I didn't read that far into the book to get to what his issue were but I know he had some because it was touched a little but not really said).
Now with all that being said.. this one just wasn't for me.. again I am not sure if I needed to read the other books for some of the details that I just didn't understand or what but nevertheless I don't plan on reading this one.
I really enjoyed reading this story. There was a part in which I caught myself trapped within my emotions; battling with the fact that it was just a fictional love story. Very well written.
I received this book as an ARC at 3:30 am. I started reading immediately and did not stop until I was finished. Thank God I was off that day. What can I say? This book is a must have must read book. It grips you from the first scene at the diner until the last scene at the wedding. This book deals with rape , drugs and domestic violence. This book tells the story of Brody Chandler and Alexa . It is a story that lets you know chivalry is not dead , how one courageous act can change not only your outlook on life but your entire life. It is a story of love , trust , dedication, and healing. There is some violence and a few unexpected twist , but it is a well rounded book with a believable story line and believable characters. Reading Brody was like watching a movie. That's how well written it was. I loved It. I highly recommend this book Brody as well as the previous books Found By You and Loved By You
Family meant everything to this couple. Alexa was willing to put her life on the line to hitch hike home across the country to get to her nephew Aiden. Brody was willing to put his life on the line to protect Alex and help her. In the mean time he fell in love with her and Aiden along with the entire Chandler family. They're such a loving family and accepted Alexa and her family with open arms.
Brody's attempt to hide his health condition from his family to keep from worrying them fell to hell in a band basket with his attempt to save Aiden. It turns out that he was worrying for nothing. They covered him with loe and understanding.
Victoria wrote a heartbreaking story in the beginning. It was hard to read about what Alexa had to go through to get to her sister and nephew. But in the end it was just so uplifting and sweet. Alexa risked her life to get to her family. Brody was such a sweetheart. Who wouldn't fall in love with him. All of his brothers were raised to be just like him and they all got it from their dad Blake. That's who I want to know more about and that's Blake. I loved this story.
This series just keeps on getting better and better!!
It’s just something about these Chandler men that makes me love and go FERAL for them. First off, Brody is one of the most kindest men in my book world. He never doubts anyone he loves and only sees the good in them. He had the opportunity to continue on with his life without her instead of tracking her down and saving her from an unpleasant situation he could have risked his life in. He was so stubborn and selfless (everything I look for in a guy). The way she stayed on his mind ALL the time, just heightened my expectations and standards of men. If you can’t find me, you better take treacherous roads and unnecessary journeys to get me. He was always there when she needed him. She brought back the light in him. This is the story for you. This is the real love summer walker and Mary J Blidge was talking about.
This is the third book in the series Found by You. Brody, sweet and gentle, meets Alexa, damaged but with dignity, when he saves her at a truck stop. She has accepted money from a man but changes her mind. Brody comes to her rescue and offers to take her as close to California as he is going. They have some complicated adventures along the way and eventually fall in love. I won’t tell the whole story but it’s nice to see real people featured instead of high powered.Billionaires. He has a truly awesome family and an underlying health issue that features and heavily in the story.. ....When was the last time you had a story where the hero lived in a trailer?
I loved this series and enjoyed every minute of it. I could not stop. Once I read the first book if immediately pour headed the rest. Victoria brings these people to live and you will not be disappointed. Moreover, I was very surprised that she all wrote The Space Between. I loved that also. So if you want something to take you on a ride of emotion, this is it. Thank you Victoria for gift me joy.
That was a great read, I like the bonus chapter a lot...however, I don't like the way you (Victoria) left things with Brody and Alex. So, I am waiting for the next book,... Don't let us hang too long please...Great storyline!!!
I loved it!!! Brody and Alex are force to be reckoned with. They really looks out for each other. The Chandler clan of amazing. So full of love. I hope this series never ends. Will Alex's sister find love? Will Colton find love? That is the question.
Oh my Brody,Brody!! I loved the beginning of him and Alexa coming together. Even before she realized it, he always had her back. Seeing them both grow and other Chandler members was beautiful to say the least!!! Can't wait for the next book!! =)
This was good. Alex went through a lot. So disappointed in her sister. That zero should have been dropped a long time ago. This was good. I definitely read something else by this author.
I was given an ARC for an honest review so here it goes. I liked the story but there were areas where the story line didn't really flow. I found myself having to back track to reread certain parts to fully enjoy what was being expressed. Part of the problem I believe is due to a few grammatical errors. I'm also one of those people who like the ending of the story all written out for me, I want specifics.I don't want to have to use my imagination to know what happened to the characters in the end. *(SPOILER ALERT) * Did the characters get married? Did they stay together for a while then seperate? Will their ending be detailed at the beginning of the next book? Please tell me what happens 2 or 3 years down the line? Unless there's a cliff hanger and if that is the case then please tell me so. Then I will impatiently wait for the follow up story. But I am a Victoria fan so. When the rubber meets the road I'll be impatiently waiting for the next book anyway. With that said buy the book, it's worth the read.
Merged review:
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. I loved reading about Brody & Alexia but there were some areas where I had to reread sections because the story didn't really flow. I believe it may be possible to be more of an editing grammatical issue thou. Brodys character is quite the Southern charmer, someone you would definitely like to know. Alexa has her moments, together they make for a good read. But I'm the type of person that like details. I want to know specifics at the end of a story, I don't want to use my imagination. So I'm hoping there will be a follow up to Brody & Alexas story. Did they get married further down the line? Did they split up? Did the sister find a live of her own & move? What happened with the nephew? Details please. However with that being said this book is definitely worth the read. The whole Found by You series is worth the read & I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more. Please Ms Victoria keep them coming.
ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review.
I have yet to read books 1&2 (Griffin & Roxie) in this series. But that did not take away from the story line going on in this book.
Brody was a big teddy bear and sweetheart dealing with a heart condition that constricted him from being the man he felt he used to be. Alexa is a woman whom has been through her share of trauma and continues to struggle with demons of her past. But through their love for each other they receive the strength and courage to push through their struggles.
Alexa ultimately realizes she is more then what has happened in her past and she is worthy of being love. With the love she has for her nephew, Aiden, and the love she gets from Brody she is able to deal with her feelings she has for her older sister and the events that took place. Brody with the love his has for his family and the love from Alexa he realizes that he is still the man he has always been and that it is time he told his family what has been going on with him.
Brody and Alexa are so much alike, always putting what others need before themselves. They each can see that in each other and helps each other recognize it is okay to need help from someone else.
4.00 stars. The author has penned a realist, memorable and lovable set characters in members of the Chandler family. So far, she hasn't written a book specific to Blake Chandler, the father, and his second wife, Ann; neither a book featuring Colton, the youngest son, nor one featuring Hayden, the eldest son. But they all have been in or mentioned in other stories enough to make a reader want to know them better. Brody Chandler is great-not perfect. He is funny, kind, loving and stubborn. He was born with a congenital heart decease which was supposedly corrected when he was young. Now at 25 years-of-age, Brody's coronary health issues have resurfaced and he has sort to distance and isolate himself from his family in a misguided effort to spare them having to deal with his condition and to maintain his reputation as strong physical force. Although I believe that he and Alexa "Alex" Vaughn, aka Valentine, fell in love I disliked the drama and the distraction of her sister and nephew and her sister's woman abusing drug using boyfriend. I would have preferred more about Brody coming to terms with his illness and more about them as a couple and their relating with his family.
The title character Brody Chandler is a man of few words, and he possesses the biggest heart of all the Chandler men. Driven by his need to protect Alexa from the first time he laid eyes on her, Brody works his way to super hero status. His broad, tone body does not match his sweet laid back demeanor, but it is much appreciated.
Alexa is a very lucky girl to have run into Brody when she did. She needed him even when she didn't know it. The two were meant for each other and they proved it despite the drama that ensued during their courtship.
Grandma Rose once again proves to be the kindest lady on earth welcoming Alexa and her family into her home. No questions asked. I was happy that Pop and Brody worked out their differences and that the family came back together.
Reading the previous books in this series, I must say the Brody character called out to me and was pleasantly surprised to see he had his own book dedicated to his story.
Though a person has or comes from doesn't has a past, you can always make your future better than it was. I am forewarningyou there are triggers warnings for rape and drugs.
Characters: Brody: Being a new trunk driver and finding a girl who is getting attacked; he realizes that he has to help her. Brody is a soft teddy bear that is firecely protective over this girl he just met-Alex. There are some things that I'm not going to spoil for you, SO READ IT!
Alexa: She never thought someone would save her, bit someone did and it saved her life. To save her sister, especially her nephew, she's had to go through some lengths to get some money. Soon she begins to trust Brody and to learn how to love. What happened to her was sick, I mean I was screaming at this book of anger.
Final Thoughts: A Story of strength and love *ARC provided through author*
** I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review**
I absolutely love the Chandler men and I finished this book wondering where can I get a Brody Chandler for myself??! Hot, sexy, hardworking, devoted and loyal with a cute accent had me swooning hard for this man. I loved the instant connection he had with Alexa and how his protective instincts immediately kicked in when she needed him. Scared, alone and dealing with her own demons, Alexa was cautious, not letting anyone get too close to her. Brody was also dealing with some issues of his own. I liked how they worked through those barriers together with patience, love and understanding. Overall, I enjoyed this story although I do feel it dragged quite a bit and the ending was a HFN. Brody and Alexa were an awesome couple and I hope to get an update about them in a future book!

I discovered Victoria H. Smith during a long stretch of insomnia and I have been a fan since!
Brody and Alexa are a couple who only on serendipity could bring together. Brody's silent strength of character and Alexa's vulnerable but determined spirit allows for their story to be told without few moments of "I don't buy that". While the book is definitely a love story, the character development by Ms. Smith allows the reader to form a connection to the characters. Another attribute of "Brody" is its ability to be a stand alone novel. Yes, we know the family but the story-line does not rely on knowledge of the previous novel to enjoy.
Well done Ms. Smith, I highly recommend "Brody". My only complaint is the ending seemed rushed.
this book. wow! i was hooked from the first chapter. brody is a truck driver who has stopped in a diner he frequents for pie. there he sees alexa, who finds herself in a precarious situation. brody to the rescue. this is where their journey begins and the reader travels with them as they fall in love and learn to trust each other. the story is fraught with mystery/secrets from the beginning, but the emotional roller coaster the author takes is superbly done. there is romance, tenderness, intense emotion, humor, grief, deception and trouble. you name it. it's there. i could not wait to buy the other books in the series. the writing is flawless.
I want one.I think if you are a young woman you want need to experience a Brody. This is such a touching and tragic love story that has a Hea.I love the fact that the writer pulls you into this story by concentrating so ,on the two main characters you get the feeling it is only the two of them in the world.I love this oneness you get and the feeling that, they know they're on the verge of something special. I love this addition to this series it is so worthy.I love that these are just your ordinary people who just have been dealt a bad hand. The focal is love not just the two,but family as well. Good solid read.
This book is a stand alone but focuses on a character in the Found By You series, Brody, Griffen's older brother. At first I wasn't sure I liked the book because I felt the feelings between Brody and Alexa grew too quickly. But Brody really grew on me, he was so sweet, loving and kind to Alexa and took on a lot of her baggage.
I also liked the way Alexa was really there for her nephew Aiden and how she tried to help her sister Elena, even when she didn't want it. I thought the author did a good job depicting what happens to survivors of physical and sexual abuse.
As usual, Ms. Smith wrote a powerful book and as usual, I wish the book was a little longer!!!
Brody is amazing, I loved his character and how it developed in this emotional story, when he rescued Alexa and their feelings started to develop I was so pleased I was routing for them. Several times i nearly cried reading this fantastic love story, I do want to hear more about the Chandler Boys, i want to see how Griffin and Roxie are getting on. Once you read the Found by You series you will be hooked, I highly recommend this book, which can be read as a standalone, but I'd also recommend you reading the others in the series. Well done Victoria! I loved this book!!!
I was given an ARC for an honest review. I really enjoyed this novel. The circumstance was a little different in that the usual "perfect hero" has a "flaw" in the form of a congenital heart condition which left him vulnerable to everyday occurrences, but kept him separated, figuratively, from his loved ones. Brody was strong, kind hearted, and fit perfectly with Alexa, who, of course, had demons of her own. This was an excellent read, ans I know there will be at least one more Chandler tale to be told.
