The betrayal in The Last Sad Love Song cut deeper than deep. Imagine pulling up to the hospital to congratulate your bestie on her new bundle of joy only to find out your new God Son has your boyfriend’s whole damn face! Chiiiiiiiile, Stephanie’s disloyal, backstabbin’, and traitorous’ azz deserved more than a slap across the face. In that moment, Callie’s heart completely shattered. Not only was Cameron cheating with her best friend but, he was laying it low and spreading it wide for three other women! He was out here serving community peen like it was the gift that keeps on giving. And, in a way, I guess it did. After enduring a heartbreaking betrayal of this magnitude, most women would crawl into a dark hole and never come out. But, Morgan wasn't having it. She was there every day to hold Callie’s hand, drink plenty of wine, and scream “eff that ninja!” while singing a multitude of sad love songs. You see what I did there? Morgan wouldn't let Callie fester in her pain a minute longer. She let her know she's better than that and Cameron’s cheatin’ azz didn’t deserve another damn tear. The situation with Stephanie and Cameron had Callie questioning herself, her worth, and wondering if she could truly get past this devastating heartbreak to find love again. Thane said, “Hold my beer.” While doing a photoshoot for Morgan’s upcoming event, in walks Thane St. Thomas in all his BDE glory. Whew chile! That man just oozed sexiness! Their chemistry was instant and you could just feel the electricity simmering between them! When he and Callie locked eyes for the first time, it was over for the both of them. Thane knew his prayers for the woman that was meant to be his future wife, soulmate, and rib had finally been answered and he made it his mission to lock Callie down expeditiously. I absolutely adored this book! I loved how angst free Callie and Thane’s love journey was. Just two people who meet, date, and fall in love with no drama. The black love and black romance were on full display in The Last Sad Love Song. I've read plenty of books with romantic heroes but, Mr. Thane St. Thomas wins the crown. Give this man his flowers because, he definitely deserves them.

- This story started off with a BANG and hooked me right away! If you’re wanting a love story where you can easily see how much the mmc loves the fmc, you’ll be absolutely obsessed with this story! The romance in this story is so heartwarming.
- This story definitely gives insta love and is so swoon worthy! If you’re a hopeless romantic, this will give you all the happy feels.
- I’ve never read a book by Kimberly Brown, but I definitely want to read more from this author soon! She has such a way with words and gives you all the fluffy mushy feels.

I love the way this couple were immediately attracted to one another. I enjoyed this story taking us on a journey through their developing relationship. Such a sweet story.

4.5 🌟s! Callie and Thane omg! The way this book started idk if I was going to be able to handle the drama because whew Callie ex did her dirty and Stephanie karma is coming for that ass! Seeing Callies journey to love again was beautiful and her Thane were just ugh swoon worthy! It felt effortless reading their love blossom. Their love was fast but almost like kismet and I’m always here for kismet! Beautiful story and definitely a recommend from me!

“I can make you feel like more than a woman, Callie,” I said, cupping her face. “I can make you feel exactly how I want you to feel… like you’re mine.” I kissed her deeply. “Tell me you want to be mine,” I whispered against her lips. “I wanna be yours...” Listennnnnn after words like this you can have whatever you like!!!!! This was Thane's default language and action with Callie.
Callie's last relationship came to a devastating ending, but I believe it was preparing her for great love. That is exactly what she got with Thane. They gave me ALL the feels from the moment they met. Chemistry was immediate you hear me!! I loved how intentional they were with each other, not holding back because their connection was new. They embraced the feelings they had and accepted each other for who they were. It was beautiful watching it unfold. I was so happy for Callie because she had this fine as$ man that cared for her so much and she deserved it. Don't get me started with the salt and pepper beard because I want all the smoke!!!!
These two couldn't get enough of each other. Despite that I laughed a LOT. There was a good balance of love and laughter and I enjoyed it all. Granny stole the show for me. She was a plum fool and I loved that she didn't bite her tongue at all 🤣. I don't remember a KB book that had that balance, but I'm here for it all. This book was short but it was everything!

All the feels!!! 🥰🥰🥰 Thane and Callie had a beautiful connection! I mean!!!!!! Where do I begin! Poor Callie was navigating through the worst kind of betrayal when she discovered her “best friend” and Fiancé had a baby together. And then they kept taking body shots throwing it in her face! They would not let up on my good sis! But low and behold Mr. Thane “I can show you better than I can tell you” St. Thomas came in and showed her what real grown man love looked like. He came to her with a healthy all encompassing type of love. He was prepared to love her without the crazy side chicks, he was financially stable and was settled in his career! This man said when he prayed, he prayed for a wife! He was clear on what he wanted and he showed Callie that she was worthy of the love she gave freely to others! I loved the family dynamic from both sides! Granny was everything! Mo was everything! Luna and her thot behavior was everything 🤣🤣this black love story was just…..EVERYTHING!

THIS BOOK ATE IT ATE IT ATE IT ATTE THE FUCK DOWN OMG. It’s always the books that you pick up at random that shock you.
I had no idea what this book was about, per usual I skips blurbs for authors I trust & Kimberly is one I know will bring the heat and chemistry EVERYTIME. What i didn’t expect were the emotions and gems I took from this powerful story.
Overcoming and loving after heartbreak is a difficult task but an empowering journey. Healing is even harder but we’re all better for it once we get through it… this is what we can take away from her journey. Watching Callie break then heal and get loved on by her friends, family & Thane healed pieces of ME in the process.
Thane good God We like a man with a plan but we LOVE a man with a follow through baby. He wasn’t all talk and no action. Everything he said he followed through and showed with his actions. THIS.. this is black love, healthy black love at that, no drama, no struggles, no third act break up. We love when a black woman can be her most authentic and soft self with a man because he makes her feel safe, loved, wanted, cherished and appreciated . The way he takes care of her>>>>>> Whew this book did everything for me. It was sweet, sexy, funny, inspiring and it gave me hope.
Their chemistry from the first encounter was undeniable. Watching them get to know each other and fall in love organically was so beautiful. I loved the way he loved her, black women deserve every bit of this.

I will always love a book with intentional love. This was too cute and sweet. I loved Thane & Callie. Definitely would recommend reading their love story. The only thing I wished happened was Stephanie getting beat up.

Why was I giggling and blushing throughout this book? Callie and Thane from beginning to end was a breath of fresh air. I was in my feelings, engrossed in their love story, their journey as a couple. It felt real and intentional, real love, blossoming love. This was truly a beautiful depiction of love. The way they both expressed how they felt for each other was delightful, women do show out when they are loved. Granny was my girl, she told like it was. The friendship between Mo and Callie was effortlessly beautiful, supportive through and through. After that pain Callie endured the HEA was the perfect outcome.

It took me to this eutopia, to this land of perfection and I didn’t want to come back. In case you guys didn't know, I live for stories like this. Just unapologetic, unequivocal black love. I was so submerged and enthralled in Callie and Thane's love, I didn’t care about Stephanie or Cameron.
I swear, Kimberly does no wrong in my eyes. She's one of the very, very few authors where I won't even read the synopsis. Immediate purchase, Immediate read. I've said this before and I'll say it again. She never misses.

When this story began, I thought I would need to open a few cans for Calliope. If Stephanie was the best friend and Cameron was the love of Callipoe's life, then let me hard pass. After the shock wore off, I knew something better was in store for Calliope. The something better was Thane. I liked this man and his real man personality. I'm not sure what Stephanie was drinking, but she was itching to be dealt a grown woman disappointment trip to get out of her misery. Granny, Mom, Porter, and both parents were amazing treats. But Granny was my favorite. You should try this one. It's cool.

Thande decided to choose himself first and by doing so, he cleansed his soul and was dating with intention to find his wife. That’s what Callie was for him, his lover, soulmate, and his rib. Callie had a horrible breakup with her ex, the worst betrayal ever. The first scene with these two, the chemistry was clear and an instant attraction. That kiss was intense for two individuals that didn’t know each other!! I loved how their friends and family could see that these two were made for each other. I feel like the dating auction was a cute touch to their story. This was mature romance, no haziness or beating around the bushes- these two dated with purpose and were in sync the entire book and their love scenes were intense! Whew! This was a beautiful story.

Imagine your best friend makes you the godmother and when you show up for the delivery of your godchild, you noticed that the baby favors your boyfriend. Whew...drama and heartbreak. How does one recover from that devastation? Can love ever find you or do you stop believing? Callie didn't believe because the pain was unbearable and then Thane, not Thanos even though if Thane snapped his fingers Callie's heartbreak could disappear. He was all bae. I loved the coupling of the two and the respect and tenderness they felt for each other. I wanted more of them but was pleased with the outcome. Love can come after heartbreak.

Very cute story! Low angst and such a feel good story! So glad these two gave love another shot. The chemistry was of the chain. Their love was beautiful to see. This is an example of how writing real organic love stories should be!

Ma'am! I think my heart stopped when I learned of that unforgivable betrayal! Stephanie girl, the heavens were watching over you, because Callie should have sent you to meet the devil; after that mess you did! 🤬 That ish doesn't "just" happen! Ughhh....... Anywho, Callie rightfully fell down that dark hole, and questioned everything about herself, her life and her worth while dealing with that grief! But, Miss Mo was like, uh uh sis! We ain't gone do that! She was her ride or die, and made sure to hold her crown when it began to slip! Meeting up for this photoshoot, was just something to do, but after seeing Thane; things began to look up! Their chemistry was instant, and you could feel the electricity between the two! I loved how intentional Thane was about all that he did, and made sure to make Callie comfortable every step of the way! They were so good together, and deserved every ounce of happiness life has to offer! I loved Granny! She cracked me up! Really sweet story, that still has me smiling! Great job! 👍👍👍

Okay where do I start…Callie and Thane such a sweet story. After being betrayed and heartbroken by ya “boyfriend” and “bestfriend” would have you all the way turned off from love but babeeeee Thane came on in there and gave Callie the hope and love she needed. I loved the development of their relationship. Loved the ending. I say if it is meant to be and it is true there is no such thing as too soon.
But Granny is a whole mess honey!! I love her character.
Now one thing that has stuck with me though after reading the book was whether Callie lived in a house vs apartment?!? 🤔🤔 Because from the first description I thought she lived in a house(front yard) but then Thane went up to her apartment??? Anyways I loved the book. 🥰

This was a good heartwarming book. After experiencing the most gut-wrenching betrayal, I was amazed that Callie was able to keep moving forward. Thank god for her best friend Mo. As the months went by, she was able to meet Thane, and that couldn't have happened at the perfect time. I love how Thane was patient with Callie and allowed her to reveal her past when she was ready. The chemistry and passion these two had for one another was one that makes you smile and say this is the perfect man for Callie, and she is the perfect woman for Thane. They truly complete each other. Glad they both got their happily ever after.

SHE DID IT AGAIN. This book had me giggling, laughing , punching the air , and falling in love with people who don’t exist. I know I have said that tame me by Kimberly brown was my favorite but I think this might have beat the rating. This was the best short love story ever. Thane has become on the list of top ten. ( Ik that’s a lot but oh well) the romance was everything the Comedy was everything as well. Like I said before I love me some Kimberly brown and this story along with all the rest of her books is the reason why.

Thane came at the right time to show Callie what true love is and how soulmates will come when you least expect it. This love story will give you allllll the feeelsssss and then some. Add in some freaky moments and you will not be disappointed but all in all the love outshined everything.

The title of the book is so fitting!! I really enjoyed this book. The title made me love it even more once I realized once going on. This was a story of not letting your past interfere your future!

What a beautiful story, I'm never disappointed when I read one of Kimberly Browns books. This was wonderful I love a sweet love story and this was just great. Callie deserved that love and I'm glad she got it with Thane it was so refreshing to read a story simply about love. This was a great read!!!

sweet beyond measures
This book was super sweet and heartfelt. It gave me all of the feels a mostly drama free love that reminds you that time is a small factor when you meet the right one. Loved the patient man that Thane was and the built in bond between Mo and Callie. Amazing read!

This was such a great love story. Callie deserved all the good things in life. Thane was what she deserved. I loved how he loved her. The relationship between Mo and Callie were beautiful, they were more like sisters than friends. That ending definitely had my eyes watery.

I just loved this story. Finding the true, the real, the lasting love after terrible heatbreak and even bigger betrayal. Romantic love, family love, best friend love that actually made me cry. Oh, and this one brings the spice. Callie's and Thane's story was a pleasure to read. Happy reading!

OmG! This has to be label as one of MY favorite love stories EVER! No drama no stress just all love from Thane towards Calli! Wow what a beautiful love story! This book honestly made me laugh cry get upset and even be so excited that I had to cry of joy and excitement! EVERY women deserves a Thane A BF like Moe and Porter! Well written! Enjoyed every turning page!

I think this was hands down the best romance I’ve read so far this year. This was one of the sweetest love stories ever. The thing I loved most was the fact that it was a drama free love story. It just focused on the love and nothing else. So heartfelt and definitely a tear jerker for sure. I can’t wait to read more from this author!
