A Second Chance for the Rich and Famous #1

Assisting My Brother's Best Friend

Rate this book
Proposing on national TV was the plan. Falling for my best friend’s sister wasn’t.

Drew
Truth: Reality TV dating shows care more about ratings than true love.
You'd think that wouldn't be news to me, but even though I've supposedly found the love of my life, I'm still hung up on someone I lost a long time ago.
And now the show wants me to propose.

Kate
I needed a job, but this one was a mistake.
When I agreed to convince my high school crush to get engaged, I thought it would be simple.
What I didn’t expect was for old feelings to resurface.
Or for Drew to remember our stolen kiss from seven years ago.
He's my brother's best friend, and spending time with him is complicating everything in my life and his.
I should stick to the plan. It's best for everyone. Isn't it?

Ok, all you lovers of second chance stories, forbidden love because of being best friend's with a sibling, Bachelor romance, Billionaire romance, and good friends reconnecting...you need to read this!

Drew and Kate had some serious chemistry. Like swoon worthy chemistry. And their story. Tugs at the heartstrings. I LOVED IT!!!

Drew has loved Kate for forever. There was always one thing standing in his way...Aiden, her older brother, his best friend and her protector. Drew would do anything to be with Kate. Until something happens and he leaves her life. Well, Fate has a way of intervening and bringing these two back together. Except Kate is married. Drew is doing everything he can to be a good supportive friend. Now he needs to put his focus back to his life on the matchmaking bachelor show and his proposal. Can he pour his heart out to someone he doesn't love when the woman he loves is back in his life?

Kate can't believe her luck. The one person she thought she'd never see again...until she runs into him and suddenly finds herself working for the studio that is filming the bachelor show he's the star of. She has a big secret though. But if she shares her secret she'll lose her job and possibly her heart. If only life were uncomplicated and could play out perfectly. Kate needs to figure out how to navigate everything, keep her secret, her job, and hide her heart from the one man who has always had it.

You guys, this book, it had all the feels. If you love swoony, this is the book for you. There are ups and downs, big reveals, crazy ladies, sorrow and heartache, friendship and a sweet and perfect love story. *Happy Sigh* If you can't tell, I loved it.

Kate just wait because you are in for the ride of your life. And Drew, yes Drew Burrows, you are just amazing! Don't let her go! Can I also just say, that ending? Squeal! Ok, maybe a little fangirling going on right now but that's ok, because this book is definitely a fangirling worthy book in my opinion.

Content: Clean. No swearing, some swoony intense kisses but nothing more than kisses. One character has a nickname due to his desire to wait until marriage for sex.

I snagged a copy from Amazon. Go get yours before the price goes up, it was $0.99.

Happy Reading!!!

Swoony, steamy-clean fun!

I don't watch The Bachelor, but I love books that incorporate that type of reality show into their story line and this one was great. Drew and Kate grew up together and have lost touch for seven years--until now. He's the billionaire bachelor and I loved seeing how things worked behind the scenes, and wondered how true-to-life it really is.

Drew and Kate have a wonderful connection and their chemistry is off the charts. Corry does a great job in capturing the romantic tension in this steamy clean love story. I love that Drew and Kate share a past and a solid friendship, which given the mutual attraction, gradually flourishes. There was a surprising depth and emotional element to this book that caught me off guard, since I was expecting pure fluff. Never fear--the fluff and sweetness is still there, but this depth brings about an engaging story that captivated me from start to finish.

Content: mild+ romance (kissing)

This is my first book by Judy Corry, and I look forward to reading more from her. I enjoyed her writing style and thought this was a cute read. I'm also a fan of The Bachelor/Bachelorette, I have been watching it since it all began and even got my husband hooked on it. So, I always enjoy a book set in the same type universe as The Bachelor. I like seeing the behind the scenes, etc. This book takes place after the filming, but before the show airs. Which is an interesting time when the Bachelor and his "fiancé" have to keep their relationship secret. The twist here, he doesn't actually have a fiancé and he doesn't want one!

This was a sweet second chance at love type story. Drew and Kate grew up together, Drew was best friends with Kate's brother Aiden. Both had secrets crushes on each other but were never really able to do anything about it. Then when Aiden dies in a car accident Drew leaves and they're not reunited until years later when he's doing the Bachelor show. I thought they had good chemistry, I liked that they were friends and things naturally grew from there.

Overall, a fun beach type read. I enjoyed it.

Content: Clean, just kissing. No language, violence or religious content.

Loved the Journey

This book was engaging from beginning to end. I love the Bachelor/Bachelorette shows and this book gives off very familiar vibes to those shows. This story combines several themes of friends to lovers, second chance at first love and forbidden love. Drew and Kate are childhood friends. They developed feelings for each other but were separated after the death of Kate's brother. Now they have reconnected but Drew is in the middle of a reality show to find love. There are so many complications for Drew and Kate but I loved their journey. It was full of emotion and more depth than I expected. I really enjoyed it!

Well, she did it again. Another great story. It’s not an original plot. I’ve read other, very similar storylines. But I’ve always enjoyed them, and this one was no exception. Similar in writing style to Victorine Lieske, this is a clean romance with no descriptive sex and no swearing. The story moves at a fast pace and it’s an easy, light read. Once I started reading, I didn’t want to put it down. I loved it and I highly recommend it.

Wow!

I loved reading this book, it is always refreshing to be inside the book and feel energized. Many books today use profanity beyond the maximum daily dose. This story conquered the "modern" world and didn't use one curse word, proud to have read it and would recommend it to any person who loves a wonderful love story. Two thumbs up!!

Enjoyable romance

I tend to avoid the “billionaire romance” stories because I don’t like the way the money becomes the answer to the problems the h is experiencing. This book is about a man who has money, and experiences some fame because of it - but his money doesn’t really play a part in the story other than that. He isn’t buying the proud woman things on the sly because he knows she’d never accept his help up front... not my favorite trope.

I liked the humor between the two main characters, I felt the tension was very well developed, with realistic insecurities driving the conflict rather than manufactured drama. And the kissing is awesome.

Clean, kissing but nothing else thanks to Saint Drew.
The title and cover were not designed for me, I read the book in spite of those things - mainly because I like and trust this author and will read anything she writes. It was nice to have a non-high school romance from her.
Characters are great
Conflicts in the book were well imagined and developed
Relationship progress is steady, and enjoyable

This story had a very strong start. I liked how Drew and Kate bumped into each other after years apart and I loved their chemistry. As the story progressed however, it started to drag.

I actually thought that Kate’s brother would have played a more prominent role in the story. Even though he did have a little part to play in Drew and Kate’s separation, I was expecting the main conflict to come from him...so I was a little disappointed. Also the ending just felt rushed and things were hastily tied up.

One more thing that got on my nerves was how often these MCs winked. OMG!! It was as if they were competing to see who could awkwardly wink the most. Some weren’t that bad but most of the winking was unnecessary and cringey. Overall, it was light, mostly enjoyable and had some cute bits.

Fun sweet read

I loved this story! I enjoy a good second chance story. Drew and Kate are so wonderful together. I love how they just get each other. There are several crazy obstacles in the way of their happily ever after. Will they let the obstacles stop them or will love win out?

It was fine. The story started out cute, but it turned strange toward the end. I just had a hard time with their lack of control after not giving in for so long. Then the end was all wonky and ended in a rush. I just didn’t end up loving how it played out.

You know how they say not to judge a book by its cover? Well, I do. All the time. And I would never normally pick up a book with a cover that looks like this—it doesn't exactly scream "clean and wholesome," does it? But ... it is. I "met" Judy Corry through her YA romance a few months ago, and I knew that she only writes clean romance, so I decided to give this one a chance despite the cover.

This book is so charming and fun! When I read the description, I worried about the aspect of Drew falling for Kate while believing she's married, but he found out about Kate's divorce very early on in the book, so it wasn't an issue.

The book begins right after Drew has filmed a season of the Bachelor-esque show Finding Your Soulmate. He declined to propose to his final choice, so production is pressuring him to propose on the live reunion show. Kate is hired to be his new handler, and she's supposed to help convince him to propose to the woman he chose ... which is difficult, considering she's been in love with Drew since she was a teenager.

Drew and Kate have great chemistry, and this book is just so much fun to read! It also feels pretty true to the Bachelor world. Really, my only complaint is that it felt just a tad long and slow in the middle. But overall, it was such fun! If you're a fan of clean reads and/or The Bachelor, you'll definitely want to give this one a chance.

3.5 stars.

Characters- I really liked both of the characters. They were very likable.

Romance- It was cute and the chemistry was high. They were great together. I really enjoyed it.

Plot- Enjoyable until the lackluster climax. (The book began just as the MMC was finishing being in a Bachelor reality show.)
I was disappointed by how he kept moving forward with a dumb plan without communicating fully with the FMC. His reasoning was lame and neither of them wanted it. It just got strung out too long, and I started to lose respect for both of them. By the time the happy ending came, I was just kinda bugged.

Writing Good, but it lacked the flirty, delightful banter that I enjoy so much in other romances. (Like Shari Tapscott’s Blood and Buttercups novel. How can I go back after experiencing delicious banter like that?! I’m ruined for life.)

Content-

Language- no swearing.
Spice- clean. Just kissing. Sex after marriage standards.
Substance abuse- none
Violence- none
Cover- ok
POV- dual POV
Cliffhanger- no
Format- audiobook through Libby
Narration- The male performance was great for the MMC’s voice narration, but it was atrocious for any other character. His affected voice made the FMC sound like a stereotypical male gay sidekick in a rom-com. Let’s just say it was cringy every time the FMC spoke. The female performance was great, though!

The Billionaire Bachelor: Clean Romance (Matched With a Billionaire 1) - PG
Violence: none
Language: nothing offensive
Sex: no sex, some kisses

Great book! I think the billionaire business can sometimes be a bit overdone, so I was worried about reading this one. Our H isn't the stereotypical (in the books, natch) billionaire that cannot relate to the average lives of others. He also has morals and an extremely kind heart. So Attractive! The chapters alternate between the H and h's points of view, which I also enjoyed because I don't often get to be omniscient and watch things come together. I'll look for more from this writer.

That was really cute :)
I like these kind of stories that reminds you of a Hallmark movie and I'm always up for a Hallmark movie :D
So the story id about Drew and Kate, they were childhood friends and they loved each other but LAte's brother didn't approve and he died, so they are separated for seven years until they meet again .. but the thing is Drew has to propose to another girl because he is the Bachelor .. what will happen ?
the book is really predictable but it gave a really cute vibe

Heart battles

Sometimes the very thing we shouldn’t do is exactly what the heart wants. Add to that mix a great tragedy, great misunderstandings, and great separations, then toss.

When the one man you’ve always wanted turns his back on you. Or the best friends sister that you’ve always loved marries another, how can the heart survive?

I fell in love. Buy the book. Take the journey.

Second chance at love

Drew is the one that got away. But when fate throws Kate and Drew back in each other's path it's with the worse set of circumstances. Drew is the season's billionaire bachelor on the verge of proposing to his girlfriend and it's Kate's job to make it happen.

I liked how these two characters had to work through their individual histories and issues for the chance to be together.

The Billionaire Bachelor is an easy read which characters you can love--and hate. The romance between Drew and Kate was so sweet you'll find yourself rooting for them in a short time.

This was a clean read with characters you'll wish you could meet in real life.

A Great Billionaire Story

This is such a good read and I love Drew. He is such a sweet guy and I would love him as my future son-in-law for my teen daughter.

This story has all the feels in a great romance story without the sex.

I have followed Ms. Corry on social media for awhile now, but this is the first time I've had a chance to read one of her books.

And it won't be my last! I enjoyed Assisting My Brother's Best Friend and am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

I so appreciate a second chance at love and that instead of there being a Big Misunderstanding between the two main characters, they ended up talking through things time and again.

I was not a fan of the woman he chose, though. She was just awful and plainly in it for the dude's money.

I have never watched any of The Bachelor/Bachelorette shows, but it was nice to get to know what happens behind the scenes anyway.

The ending was just perfect!

In this charming romance, Drew and Kate were best friends in their teen years. However, after the death of Kate's brother, the link was broken. Drew went on to become a billionaire and Kate eventually got married to someone else. When they bump into each once more on a late night expedition to the store, the connection is once more made. Drew is on a reality TV show and Kate is still trying to break into the screen writing market. The romance in the story builds slowly with an undercurrent of tension all the way through. Despite his billionaire status, Drew remains grounded, without an inflated opinion about himself, and while Kate is impressed at his success, she isn't star struck. The humour is good and there is also some pathos as they recall events in their teen years when Aiden was still alive. The story is well written and I also enjoyed the fact that it is clean without detracting from the romance. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
