BOOK ONE, EDEN-Eden gets rejected by her pathetic sob of a mate, Paxton, on her 18th birthday. She decides to leave the pack and town that has bullied her since she lost her parents at age 10.

She meets some creeps in the woods who attempt to use a date-rape drug on her. She escapes but due to that and police questioning, her fear calls to Paxton. Immediately he goes to her and tries to help... which she refuses. She walks away and gets trapped on a bear trap. The end!

So.. not much happened. It's low on spice and unless Paxton does some major groveling in the next one, I might not finish this series. We'll see!


BOOK TWO, MATE-This book is in Paxton's point of view, which I enjoyed! It was nice to hear why he did some of the things he did in the last book. He really doesn't want a mate, but he's coming around. And by that I mean... he drugs and kidnaps her.

“Don’t worry, I’ve got you. I’ve got you now, and I’m not letting you go.” Ever.

This one was a little more spicy than the last and it added another layer of plot. Buuuuuut, that cliffhanger?! Onto the next book!


BOOK THREE, BOND-This book is back in Eden's point of view. Paxton has finally realized that Eden is truly his mate and he wants to keep her. He tries his best to explain why he did the things he did, but with her held captive by him, she's reluctant. Things change pretty quickly.

“I want you. All of you. I want to memorize every inch of you. I want to feel you in my soul.”

I'll say, their first time together was super hot! Hate sex is great sex. And that cliffhanger! I'm ready for the next book.


BOOK FOUR, HOME-This book was sweet and romantic. Paxton is saving Eden. They finally realize what they are to each other- true mates who are in love.

I enjoyed reading this box set! It was full of action, suspense, romance and steam. Four stars!.

Is it bad I wanted everyone dead, Carrie styled.

I guess I don't like rejected mates storylines because this book made me so angry.However, the m m c redeemed himself, and I wish the book was a bit longer.

This was pretty dark, too. I wasn't prepared for the cussing and spicy scenes for some reason.

Anyway, his parents get way too to to easy.

Nah, this is the type of insta love I've read bad comments about. It's too simple and way too annoying 😑 😒

I gave a star because it was well written in some parts. If only the bond was explored more, fought against more. I mean, how does she know how the mate bond works but not how to complete it. And how does she know it's 8 inches!

It's sloppy dark and doesn't explore the feelings or world more. Even the bullying is not explored enough. One or two memories when she's 10 is not enough to show what pain she went through. Just like losing her virginity with a good time should not be enough to allow Paxton back in.

The different POVs make it worse. Instead of Paxton learning to like Eden for who she is, noticing good things about her like her heart or the way she does something. Nope, none of this, just he did not notice her beauty with the digust blinding him. I mean, seriously!!! And how he still thinks she has an attitude when she is supposed to fall at his feet, being grateful for him wanting to help her.

Yea, I'm ranting. This is just a fail of a shifter insta fated mate book. Has all the wrong classics without exploring anything about it. Just fail! The spice is ruined because just because the body says yes, if the mind says no, it's still no, mate or not. The illusion it's okay is just fail! He even says his wolf would take over and not be gentle. I mean come on, her wolf should be part of her soul and therefore know to protect her, yet she says her wolf wants it too...what kind of wolf part of your soul allow this without making sure she will be safe.

A short story about a rejected wolf whose mate realizes the error of his ways. He bulldozes and stalks his way back into her life by ANY means necessary and just won’t take no for an answer. It was great to see Payton resist as long as she did. She’s no marshmallow.

This book was pretty good. It runs you through a gamut of emotions- over and over again. By the end, I was mostly just exhausted for this couple.

I LOVED book 1 and was totally sucked in! I started it as a separate book and didn’t realize it was 4 books = 1 complete story, so I was freaking out not knowing what came next when it was finished. I was soooo happy to realize the story continued ❤️

Eden had one shifter parent and one human parent, which wasn’t considered acceptable (not pure blood) in their wolf-shifter pack. With that attitude I don’t know why they stayed with the pack as I assume all 3 were treated with much hostility, but we never know because the book starts when Eden turns 18. She starts the book by saying she was severely bullied, starved and mistreated since her parents died 8 years ago (hence my confusion because it really seems like everyone would have bullied her forever since she’s never been pure blooded). But let’s ignore that and move on….

The second Eden turns 18…POOF….MAGIC…..Eden and the alphas son Paxton are both overcome with a WAVE OF FEELINGS for each other. I hate the arbitrary “magical midnight on the 18th birthday” thing in any book (just to make the sex that occurs consensual between 2 ADULTS🙄). But let’s ignore that and move on….

The entire pack, including her mate Paxton continues to bully and reject Eden. Paxton is and has forever been a complete jerk/ bully/ a$$hole to Eden and nothing has changed since becoming her mate. But let’s ignore that and move on….

Eden leaves the pack to go live on her own but Paxton chases her down. Paxton, who still believes their mating is a mistake because “some witch MUST have put a spell on them” because NO-WAY could Eden ever be his mate (blah, blah, blah…). So he does LOTS of even worse things to Eden but now feels justified “BECAUSE OF FEELINGS”. But let’s ignore that and move on….

In the end Paxton doesn’t care if it’s a spell or real, HE decides to keep Eden and the book ends.

What does Eden want?

It apparently does not matter “BECAUSE OF FEELINGS“.

So Paxton and Eden hate each other but fate has chosen them to be mates so now they are together BECAUSE OF FEELINGS and the years and years of abuse and neglect are swept under the rug with no apologies “BECAUSE OF FEELINGS”. The end.

Haha! I know it sounds like I didn’t like the book BUT I kinda did. The plot, while insanely crazy unbelievable, kept me hooked. The hate sex was off the charts (I wanted way more though). And watching Paxton learn more about the pack’s treatment of Eden, made me want to give Eden a big hug (and kick Paxton to the curb, but again….hate sex😉).

I felt like the story needed fleshed out more. There DEFINITELY needed to be MORE ending to Paxton and Eden’s story. We DO NOT GET A HEA. We get optimistic talk of a future potential for a HEA, but Eden and Paxton HAVE A LOOOOONNG ROAD AHEAD OF THEM IF THEY WANT A FUTURE TOGETHER. There could definitely be another book, just to give a satisfying conclusion to their story.
But let’s ignore that and move on….

There also seems to be spin-off potential with another fated mate coupling, that would tie into the imaginary next book but nope…. It would definitely help wrap this story up more since the new couple leaves with Paxton and Eden to go off and create a new life together (and start a new pack?🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️).

This collection contains all four novellas in the Sacred Hill Rejects series: Eden, Mate, Bond, and Home. The stories focus on Eden (h) and Paxton (H) and need to be read in this order as they build on the action from the previous one. POV in Eden and Bond is from Eden's perspective, and from Paxton's view in Mate and Home. Eden is a half-human, half-wolf shifter orphan who has been living with a wolf shifter pack who've gone out of their way to make her life hell, emotionally and physically. As she turns eighteen, if she has a mate then he'll be revealed to her and shockingly he turns out to be Paxton, the alpha's son, who immediately rejects her. She flees the abusive pack and tried to make a life on her own, but Paxton can’t help but follow after her, driven by his wolf to claim his mate. As he gets to know Eden away from the pack, Paxton questions the pack, including his own, treatment of Eden and begins to realize she truly is his mate. He'll do whatever it takes to claim her, even if his actions are somewhat reprehensible and questionable, but what does is nothing in comparison to what the pack will do to keep Paxton and Eden apart. There are some dark elements at play: physical abuse, emotional abuse, child abuse, bullying, imprisonment, attempted rape, violence, beatings, knifing, drugging, dub con.

I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.

Eden has been ignored for most of her life, the daughter of a human and a wolf shifter was not someone that anyone really wanted to be associated with especially as her wolf form had never appeared. So, on her eighteenth birthday she is shocked when her mate is revealed, but when she is rejected yet again will she ever be accepted and loved by anyone?

Paxton has it all as the Alpha’s son but the last person he had ever thought would be his fated would be Eden. She wasn’t even on his peripheral when he rejected her, but he soon learns of the mistake he has made but will be able to walk away or will their bond become more real the more that he learns about her.

I wasn’t sure about this book at first, the pack are horrendous, and I found myself hating the behavior and lack of empathy for Eden and her childhood experiences, but the main characters grew on me and as the series goes on you start to forgive some of the past with Paxton, but for the rest of the pack she is bullied and ostracized in the worst way. This may not be your normal expected Darcy Rose book, but I recommend this book; it was easy to read and in one sitting. This is a solid 4* read

Damn, I love this series. It’s no fun being an outcast much less growing up without any guidance as to what is to come of you in the future. That’s been Eden’s until her big birthday. It’s funny how you have been held on a pedestal all your life only to find out that a minor imperfection can turn your world upside down. That’s been Paxton’s life until Eden’s big day. I must say I love this story for the fact that perfect is a state of mind. This is what Eden and Paxton had to face and come to terms with though out their struggles. I love that Paxton fought every step to prove his loyalty and love for Eden. I also, love his protective nature and patience in waiting for Eden to finally tell him realize Paxton is the one for her. Most of all I love Eden’s determination to stand her ground and to finally take charge in her love for Paxton.

I really enjoyed a different shifter book by this author and hoped for more of the same, but this was the exact opposite of what I was wanting. Way too much back and forth with no real character or relationship development and then the climax is very....anti-climatic. They had her kidnapped and were planning on killing her and he just walks away and leaves them all alive. He killed Bailey, but Bailey was the least of that packs problems...and Carter? We're just going to let him back in?? After all that?! No, this wasn't it for me. I liked in "Forcing Fate" that they bonded right away. I thought that was more interesting when they HAVE to be together and learn how to deal with it. It's so much more interesting and unique than an h who's always trying to run away. Well, this is the older book, so at least we know it gets better from there, I just feel less confident about reading the backlog.

Basically four short serial episodes that make a story. Different episodes are from different points of view. Eden is abused and neglected by her pack because she is half human. On her birthday, her mate turns out to be the alpha’s son Paxton, one of the people who has made her life difficult. Only everyone thinks he is not truly her mate, that she had her only friend cast a spell. They unsuccessfully reject each other. I like how quickly he realizes the truth. She becomes a priority. He messes up by putting the pack ahead of her and has to learn the hard way how terrible that mistake is. The pack is beyond awful. I wondered why Paxton and Eden didn’t go back in front of the council though. I liked how it eventually played out. Paxton had to become a man and did so.

Each book from different pov. First book started with Eden and second book was from Paxton's pov. This book was an okay read for me. It was fast paced and intriguing enough but there's no wow factor. I hate Paxton before but after the later book he was growing on me. I really hate their pack. Bunch of jerk. Hoping for more action and revenge. I also would love to know more about Luna. She seems cool. The book was pretty short to think I finished this box set only in a day.

I love boxsets, especially when stories continue and must be read in order. This set is four novellas follow our main characters Eden and Paxton and her search for acceptance and love. She’s been neglected, abusive and her mate rejects her. But when Paxton realises his mistake he decides to do anything and everything to get her back, despite the whole pack being against the match because of his background. Be aware of triggers as this has some difficult scenes. Fast paced and intriguing, action packed with a HEA.

Paxton and Eden's story was an engaging read - the kind of thing you devour with your heart and soul. The two had an intense connection, even when trying circumstances threatened to tear them apart. Their chemistry was electric and the palpable tension between them made for a compelling read. As their complicated past was revealed, we both cheered and groaned for their romantic journey. There were plenty of swoony moments, heartache and surprises to keep any fan of paranormal romance enthralled. It was a roller coaster of emotions that we thoroughly enjoyed and we highly recommend it.

Eden's touching story is revealed through this series. She is half human and considered an abomination by her pack. She hopes that upon her eighteenth birthday she would be able to leave the pack if she can't find a mate for protection. When she is at her party a mating bond snaps in place between her and the alpha's son Paxton who refuses the bonding and the chaos and dram begins. Will he and Eden's bonding ever be acceptable by the pack and will they get their chance for happiness.

This series was actually so good! I was just trying to catch up on my reading goal and saw that these books were all super short and I already had the first one downloaded so I read it. I wasn’t expecting to like it enough to buy this one so I could read them all. I think it took me about an hour to read them all? They were all so good!

Nope. When the pair starts with a non responsive mate to a bullied future mate, I know the story is rarely going to be good. Being a decent person is part of my requirements for being a lead character. And when people gang up on the poor and orphaned female lead for absolutely no reason other than to set up a dramatic background for her, the tone of the book is decided and so am I: I'm out. Why suffer through a bad plot that is so rehashed it's not even funny anymore...?

All together a good story. A little lacking in detail and some parts could definitely be expanded to make all the mini stories into actual books. I would’ve loved to learn about Eden and Lunas friendship. It would’ve been great to learn more about and understand the hardships Eden went through growing up. And even better to learn about this pack and more of the dynamics within.

Meh, this was a bit... I don't really know.

I listened to this on Audible while on a shift and while it helped the time go by I just found it a bit 'blah'. The story was OK, the narration was OK, and the character dynamic was OK.

Let's just say I probably won't think about this book again.

I didn't understand why it was separated into 4 books, though, as it was all the same story. I would have better understood it as 4 parts in the same book.

I've read these before but I'm glad they combined them. It took him too long to realize his parents were full of shit about the witchcraft forced mate thing. I needed more to happen to his parents and the pack. Maybe he challenged his dad for alpha and beat the shit out of him. I still ate this up. I'm glad Eden didn't make it easy on Paxton.
