Pyromancer's Path #5

Shadow's Savior

Rate this book
Alyssa's Quintelaide stands disgraced.

After a violent confrontation forces them to flee the capitol, Alyssa and her Quintmates struggle to cope with the fallout. Warrior Jaxon focuses on their path forward, while Frost Mage Arthur contemplates their place in history. Alyssa doesn’t know how to feel about her decision to disobey the Archon, and whether to blame herself for the events that followed.

Despite his outward cavalier attitude, Ryon struggles most of all. The Shadow can’t close his eyes at night without seeing the faces of those he's killed.

But Alyssa's Quint has a final mission to distract them from their grief and guilt. If they can get their hands on a single Tinker superweapon, they can carry one north beyond the Borderlands, to the Silithik Hivemind itself.

With a single bomb, they can end the war—and the entire Silithik menace.

As they avoid Archenon patrols on their way to their destiny, Alyssa and her men are going to have to come to terms with what they’ve done—and what they intend to do if they reach the Hivemind alive. Because all six of them share one common realization: that win or lose, this mission may be the very last thing they do.

SHADOW'S SAVIOR is the epic conclusion to the Paranormal Reverse Harem Romance series, Pyromancer’s Path. It features exciting sword-and-bow action, a unique magic system, and all the slow-burn romance you’d come to expect from a Reverse Harem. A thrilling HEA is guaranteed!

I am SO sad that I’ve finished this series!!! I loved it so much! So much so, that it feels as if I know the characters myself!!! This was such a fantastic series and I absolutely loved Ryon’s point of view, although I do wish some of his chapters were longer. I love how protective he is of Aly, I love that they both teach at the academy as well. This series is so good I plan to buy the books to keep permanently so I don’t have to return them to kindle unlimited. I also wish the epilogue was longer. Partially because I didn’t want it to end, but also I wanted to see a longer look into their future. Would they have children? Would they all consider the child theirs? I could definitely see that, they’d love the babe unconditionally. I’d love to see the 5 strong men all mushy towards a little one. I know it’s not the main point of the ending, especially with peace within the Archenon being the bigger picture, but I’m a romantic and that’s just me never wanting it to end and to see a baby Alyssa, and see Liza as a grandmother. Overall I’d recommend this series, 10/10, finished the whole series in a matter of maybe 3 days, I just couldn’t stop reading. I honestly can’t wait until later down the road when I forget what happens so that I can read them all again!

This series wasn't bad per se and the plot was actually interesting. I remained because I loved Alyssa, she's the main reason why I continued reading tbh. I don't know if this worked as a romance. The fact that each book explores a member of the harem didn't exactly help, imo. I didn't know how to feel about the man until his book came, and by then I felt nothing. It was lukewarm. Also, after their respective books, it felt as if we couldn't see more of them again and it bothered me. On the third book, Arthur literally didn't show up. Neither did Jax, Harry and Ryon. Also, I didn't like Danni's character, I felt she was just a cause of unnecessary drama. It would have been a really nice series without her. They could have just judged Alyssa for her lack of talent, not because they lost the other woman. And in the end, she was also forgotten. It took a month for the men to love Alyssa, and it didn't make sense if the way they constantly talked about grief or whatever. I mean, don't get me wrong, it felt better when they stopped bringing up danni all the time (though at times it made me cringe so hard, especially when Alyssa wanted to know who the better lover was). Overall it was okay as a novel, not so good as a harem, hence the rate.

Deze recensie is in het Engels omdat ik het boek las in het Engels:

The story goes further in this new book. You need to have read the other books in this series to understand everything in this book. Since it is an fantastic series, you won't regret reading the other books.

This book has as main characters again Alyssa and Ryon the shadow of her Quintelaide. He was the most difficult of her quint to get warmed up to her, but now he has fallen too.

Because they killed the Archeon they are now on a final mission to destroy the hivemind, because staying would mean they would be punished. Their mission brings them first in the village Alyssa her mother is living and next into the borderlands. When they come into the land after that they are in for a surprise. It is totally different as they had expected. What they learn there is also a surprise. I can't tell more about it, because I don't want to give away spoilers. But of course it brings them into a good and epic fight.

I did like the end of the book though. I am sorry this series is now over, because I really liked reading about Alyssa and her men.

Book 5 picks up shortly after the ending of book 4 - a must to read in order.

The Quint is trying to enact their plan and also remain hidden from the soldiers hunting them. I enjoyed getting to see the quint all together again.

There are hints that something big is coming, but I was not prepared for what revealed. The final battle was epic and took all the ingenuity and heart the Quint could muster to survive. The story has been building throughout the series and it culminated in a satisfying end.

I was happy to get wrap ups for multiple areas and characters we have seen throughout the series as all their lives are changed by the battle's outcome.

A little sad to see the series end, but excited to be able to go back and experience it over and over again.

Disgraced as traitors, our team struggles with to find a way forward. They know what needs to be done, but do they have the strength and will to do it? All they can do now is try.

This is book five of the series and its conclusion. I highly recommend starting at the beginning.

This is a fantasy reverse harem romance story. The story is well written and easy to read, with well developed characters that each make a unique contribution to the story. This series is a bit of a departure from the previous books I have read by this author due to the fantasy setting. As the concluding volume, this one has a lot of action and intrigue as we pull all the pieces together one more time. This has been a very enjoyable series and I look forward to our author's next creation.

Highly recommended.

Different

This series was a little different than most RH series I've read. While it wasn't my favorite type of story, I felt like the author did a good job of building the character's relationships and not making any of it Insta love. I appreciated that. The plot developed a little too slowly for me, but in the end it all came together nicely.

The only thing I didn't really care for was Aly's constant self pity and poor self esteem. The first few books had her constantly thinking or saying how average she was and how she wasn't good at anything. It got old. True or not, no one wants a main character who doesn't like herself much. However, she got better about it and built her confidence as the series progressed, so I won't complain too much.

This series took me awhile to get into, but I'm glad I read it. It was different, but food.

A truly spectacular ending to the series!

Alyssa and her quintmates set out to bring an end to the war, they have no idea if they’ll even live long enough to get close to the Hivemind but they have to try.

The Archon is dead, he was a man corrupted by power but that means the 133rd are wanted for treason. Steal some bombs, cross the barren Borderlands and find a way into the probable location of the hivemind. Should be straightforward, they’re only being hunted by every soldier in the country.

There were hints dropped along the way that I attributed to a different ending but I’m very happy to say that for once I didn’t see this one coming. It’s an absolute gift to not see the ending in advance. Cannot recommend this book highly enough, and I’d give it more stars if I could.

Wow! This book takes you through so much from the start to the finish. Alyssa and Ryon finally get together so now the Quint is complete in their Reverse Harem. The Hundred and Thirty-Third Quint are off to the source of the power they all felt when the Archon was taken down, the end to the war and finally peace. I loved the interaction with these characters and the love and friendship they all have, this is what keeps them going when they face the soldiers and other Quints when they finally battle them. Well worth reading this book and the final story in this series, I absolutely recommend it to everyone who enjoys paranormal RH romances.

"Shadow's Savior" is the final book in the "Pyromancer's Path" series and revolves around the final relationship in this quintelaide; the one between Ryon and Alyssa. I never really liked Ryon in the previous books, but this final book definitely helped in understanding him better. I like the passionate way in which he lives his life, and I believe he's a perfect addition to Alyssa's harem.

In this final book, all the storylines are wrapped up and I have to say: this is one of those endings that makes you look back at everything you've read before and see it in a different light... I really enjoyed this series, from start to finish, and I definitely recommend it to those who like fantasy RH.

Having thoroughly enjoyed the earlier books in this series, I was looking forward to "Shadow's Savior" the final book in the Pyromancer's Path series. Let me tell you it did not disappoint, It's an excellent addition and picks up where the previous book finished.

The Quint is attempting to evade trouble from the Archeron by trying to find the Hivemind so that the war can be brought to an end but the author managed to surprise me here, no hints read the book, but I did not see that coming.

This is an RH story and the dynamics and intimacy between the entire Quint are well-described and hot! This book like the rest of the series is fast-paced and action-packed with enough twists and turns, to satisfy the reader, overall it is a wonderful ending to an enjoyable series.

This was an action packed and surprising conclusion to the Pyromancer's Path series. Ryon has mostly been nasty to Alyssa in his dealings with her, but has he secretly admired her? This final book in the series answers a lot of questions, both in general and about the Shadow of the 133rd Quint.

While this has been high fantasy, it's also been a reverse harem romance. This book takes out all the stops with Pyromancer Alyssa and her five Quint mates. Her fireballs are not the only thing burning hot! This was a fantastic ending and I'll miss the characters like they were my own friends.

"Shadow's Savior" is the final book in the Pyromancer's Path series. It is another excellent story that picks up where the previous book left off. This is the beginning of the intimacy between Alyssa and Ryon and it is HOT. The RH with the entire Quint is smoking too. The Quint is evading the trouble from the Archeron and traveling to find the Hivemind in order to end the war. I definitely did not see what they found out coming. The entire series has been action paced with twists and turns, "Shadow's Savior" is no different and was a great end to a fabulous series.

Overwhelming

This series is beautifully crafted. At some point I felt like I could predict the end…oh how ignorant I was! I could never have seen where this story would take the Quintelaide.
Wow. Just wow. When I saw this series by Cassie I was confused because I was pretty certain I associated her with a different genre. This isn’t to say her other books are lacking - not at all - this is just completely different. Creating a series that could build on the characters and afantastical narrative just emphasized her skill in storytelling and romance. I loved this Quintelaide. And I am so happy to have done on this journey, but am wishing there was more. So exceptional!

Cassie does not disappoint with the final book of the Pyromancer’s series. We finally get to see Ryon and Alyssa relationship build fully. With the Archon no more, will the Quint find their peace as a complete unit? I loved all of them together as it felt like a long time coming but the build up and a book for each of Alyssa’s harem was necessary. Once again great job Cassie venturing into Paranormal RH romances.

This is the 5th book in the series. This book focuses on Alyssa and Ryon's relationship.

The Archon may have been defeated by their Quint, but they still have one more mission to complete that could be their last. Will they be able to remain hidden from the Archon's forces in order to carry out their mission and will they succeed in ridding their home of the Silithik menance once and for all.

I enjoyed reading the book and would recommend reading it along with the other books in the series.

Overall pretty good. I felt the explanation of the future prediction a little dissatisfying, but at the same time I'm glad they did explain it because it was nagging at me. I feel like maybe it would have been better if it had been foreshadowed a little better. This is more of a critique of the entire series and less a critique of this book in particular.
Spice was kinda mid for a reverse harem, but I'm not complaining, i was more in this series for the plot than the smutt. (Ik practically unheard of)
The ending was good. Not perfect, but satisfying.

I give up. I've tried to read this for just about three weeks, and I can't get through it. This just felt slower than the other books. Alyssa is also too much of a white canvas. Her characer molds to fit the leading man in each book, and I've finally reached my limit. It's also really off putting that Maze and Harry is back to blending together as characters, despite each having their book already.
I kind of wanted to know how everything fit together, but now that I've got some of it... it's just absurd, and I don't feel like figuring out the rest.

Boring

So I finally read the series. I skipped a lot and skimmed it because honestly it’s just so repetitive. The same scenario happening over in every book. The last battle in this book was so long. This is not a romance series at all. The author just throws in some throughout but it’s a dystopian war book. Great if you like that thing but it wasn’t for me. I just stuck with it coz I don’t like now knowing endings. Ended up skipping to the end for it. Book needs editing too. All of them do. It’s such a shame coz I really liked the ideas. Just boring.

wow and I mean WOW

First I’d like to say that was a very satisfying read. I went through this series like nothing else. I was totally entranced ! I wasn’t expecting this kind of work from Cassie I’m used to the quicker reads of Hers but I’m totally here for more all the way. Second sometimes Alyssa got on my nerves idk what it was but she just irritated me here and there but overall everything flowed so well and really pulled at the heartstrings. Great job!

Oh, Wow…. What an Ending!!!

This is it for Alyssa and her Quint - one last mission to end the war against the Silithik. Now that they’ve been deemed traitors, they have nothing to lose except each other and Alyssa’s growing bonds with each, including the Shadow Ryon. Wowsers, that twist 2/3 of the way through - I did not see that coming, and it completely upends the enter series! No spoilers, but you do not what to miss out on this series, it is AMAZING!

This series is truly a hidden gem and i'm sad to see it come to an end, but i couldn't have thought of a better ending than this. This book had ripped me out of my dryy reading slump, and had gave me everything that i've ever wanted.
Literal perfect fantasy world building? Tick.
Leading characters with actual personality and chemistry with each other? Tick.
Romance + Fantasy, with an existing and unforgettable plot? Tick. Tick. And, Tick.

Awesome read!

Not sure what category to place this in....sci-fi, dystopian, creature but definitely a reverse harem. Violence 5, spice 4. Triggers some.

I'll be perfectly honest, I was unsure if I would enjoy this as much as I did as it's a little off my beaten track but I'm happy you say I loved it. The main characters are filled out with a well thought out and executed story. It's difficult deciding which ' book boyfriend' I loved the most which I really like.

Freaken loved!

I loved this series. I enjoyed reading Ryons and Alyssa’s point of views. We finally got to truly understand both sides of the war. It answered So many questions. I’m just glad that awful lord gryphon finally got the ending he deserved. Poor Brutas. Tyrion was saved and reinstated. Alyssa is working in an area she never thought would have been possible. Seriously. Loved loved loved!

Nice wrap up

After all the lead up and action this was a great conclusion to the story. On the run from the events in the last book, the Quint feels a pull to the north in the hopes to end the war. In a completely unexpected way they finally all come together to gain the peace they've been looking for. Though not without loss they gained so much more.

Excellent job by Cassie Cole in this series. I’ve always appreciated the research she does to make each of her contemporary books both factual and informative on a subject without it ever being overkill. This was an entirely new genre with her books for me and she nailed it. Unique, compelling, excellent world building, and a great and engaging fantasy storyline.

Good Read

This book delivered an epic conclusion to the Pyromancer’s Path series. I was hooked from the very start of the book and was shocked in the direction it went. The twists and turns kept me on my toes and I found this to be a throughly enjoyable read. I would highly recommend it.

Everything is finally coming to a head with the quintelaide and the war. The group has to figure out how to survive and succeed while throwing all kinds of emotions into the mix with the action. I thought the ending was really well done and it made me want to revisit the series as a whole again.
