After months of careful planning, she finds the perfect spot. A darkened alley and a dilapidated building. The belongings are sorted, outfit on point but things don't go as she planned. A voice stops her.

I was hella excited about this book for a looonngg time. And when I had it in my hand, it just felt so surreal. If anyone could have saved me is a book that acts as the voice for those who don't speak up about their mental health. It describes what having depression is like. Though it's different for everyone, the protagonist's experience expresses it comprehensively. The moment I started this book, I knew I wouldn't be able to stop because it had a way of luring me in. I drowned in Khushboo's words and had no wish to emerge back into the real world. I did not want the conversations to end. I had to force myself to read it in three sittings. Yet It did end too quickly for me.
The book is small but people might not be able to read it in one go as it can feel heavy. And as the writer suggested at the beginning of the book, take your time with it.
The protagonist mentions in the book that she wishes to write a book like The midnight Library by Matt Haig and that's exactly what she has done.
I most sincerely hope that she writes more books like that, partially because I love her writings, and partially because I like showing off that I'm friends with an actual writer.
In the end, I wanna quote something from her book.
"There is no ideal. People just do what they have to do to survive. Every day you understand more of yourself and change. You are not your trauma. You are not the things that happened to you. And you don't have to know the exact definition of who you are until you know who you are not."

If Anyone Could Have Saved Me is a raw discourse on mental health, a haunting account on how nothing and everything could be wrong at the same time. It acknowledges the numerous tiny battles one fights everyday and does not shy away from highlighting how truly immobilizing mental ailments can be.

This book can really be a semi-memoir because the author drew a lot from her own life experiences.

While this book may not be a comfortable read for everyone, it is in many ways an educative one.

Although everyone's demons look different from the others, this book had me feel as if I was looking in the mirror toooo many times to actually keep count!

A simple story narrated beautifully. Loved every conversation in it ❤️

Won't be wrong to call it Midnight Library II

The basic idea of how mental health works is the crux. One who is suffering from depression/anxiety/trauma or any other mental health issues needs more care. Not necessarily claustrophobic sort but gentle. Just be there!

As the author says 'You' are the only person who can save you from yourself is the ultimate Truth, but it does need a bit of push.

Accepting our own equilibrium as however it works is more important than anything else.

Most people can relate to the girl or the boy in this book. A terrific read overall.

Ended too soon!

I liked it, the conversation, the character, the sarcasm, the sass, the reality check... everything but it ended too soon for me...nonetheless i liked it, every bit of it

(I bought kindle subscription only to read this book and no regrets)😁

I just finished reading this book. I can't fully express how good this book was. I finally saw parts of myself represented in a novel - the parts that I was ashamed of and pretended didn't exist. I can't say much more about this because I'm still sobbing over it. Just read it, please. And kudos to the writer!

I want to congratulate Khushboo (the author) for writing such a blunt and powerful book about depression. Each and every conversation in the book felt like it was happening in front of me but I felt helpless. This book is a voice for people who’s voices are suppressed because of our unprogressive society.
Just take sometime out of your schedule, sit back in your comfortable space and read it.

Being the author of this book, it'd be biased for me to write a review. Because obviously, I think this is the worst thing I have ever written. So, let's wait and see.

The book directly talks to your inner demons and critics, since most of us would be able to relate to the fact how we look down on ourselves...

Written in a very engaging manner and almost felt like the author has poured all her heart out.

Finished it in almost 2 days after a very dry spell of reading.
