As usual, I took a step too far onto the wild side.
Now I have to make amends.
As the main attraction in a celebrity auction at a fundraiser that should be easy.
When I meet the chair of the orphanage my good intentions melt under the heat of the sparks flying between us.
Maria clearly wants me to disappear from her sight.
I want to teach her to loosen up and enjoy life; preferably in my bed, following my orders.
Judging by the way our bodies sizzle every time we touch, that won’t be a problem.
Except, Maria has serious issues believing in me because of the darkness in her past.
And now that I’ve found out about that, I will do everything in my power to protect her and teach her to trust again.
If only my own past wouldn’t come back to hauntus.

No cheating or cliffhangers.

USA Today best-selling author Liz Gavin, has accomplished much in her short career. Her books have made to #1 and Top Five best-selling ranks in her home country Brazil and others as diverse as Japan, the UK and the US; both in English and Portuguese, collecting 5 and 4-star reviews. Nominated for a Summer Indie Book Award in 2016, and again in 2017, this RWA member constantly seeks new opportunities to improve her craft. This thirst for knowledge propelled Liz to leave the comforts of family and friends in Brazil and move to California to pursue a Master’s degree in late 2015. She lives in sunny SoCal, where she’s researching the writing process, for her thesis, in hopes to figure out why she creates in English instead of her native Portuguese. Liz Gavin writes in contemporary, paranormal, and historical genres. In her sexy stories, one finds smart, independent women, who don’t need rescuing by knights in shining armor, but indulge in steamy action with swoony Alpha males with big hearts. She also writes about women discovering their sexuality and finding happiness in unconventional setups.
This is the third installment in the Muse of Darkness series and for me it’s another five-star book. This is Wes’s story and he is a rocker that seems to be the one in the band that always ends up on the bad side of the publicity. His antics may cost him but the record label is giving him a change to change it all around if he offers himself up for big money to be auctioned off at a charity event for a non profit run by a widow name Maria… who doesn’t like rock stars.
Wes isn’t used to people not liking him so he makes it his mission to change Maria’s mind. Let’s just say that their chemistry is sizzling and they make this hate/love thing work for them. They both have pasts to work through and all together it made this a book a huge page-turner for me. I can’t wait for more to come in this series.
Wes was one of the band members of Muse of Darkness who keeps coming up in the news and not in a good way. Maria had a non profit agency that helped kids young and old get on their feet and/or feel loved and wanted. Wes had to go be auctioned off as one of the bachelors to win money for the non profit. Maria took an instant dislike to him which he was surprised as most women fall at his feet. The funny thing was that Wes hated how Maria treated him and wanted her to like him. As time goes on, the two are thrown together and Wes starts knocking the wall around Maria’s heart down. Maria’s past when she was young was not the best and it keeps getting in the way of her and Wes. I hated what she went through and understood why she felt the way she did. I was glad that Wes showed her a different side of people in a band. This was a good book, and I encourage you to read it. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.
Wes is the 3rd member of Muse of Darkness to find love in this amazing book. Be prepared to go through a lot of different emotions because like the others, this book is not a light-hearted rock star romance. Instead, Wes and Maria are two people whose attraction and the resulting unexpected feelings force them to face up to really horrendeous events in their past so that they can open up to each other and a happy future. It is very skillfully done and there is a true sense of friendship complete with banter, loads of support from band mates and friends. There are steamy sexy times, adorable side characters that will make your heart melt as well as those that will make you truly angry. A truly amazing series with just one more to go and I can't wait!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I got off to a little bit of a rocky start with this book. I loved Wes immediately; probably largely a result of having already fallen in love with him in the previous two books. But, Maria was a very prickly little thing. Closed up tighter than a vault and filled with so much judgement and seething dislike. Mentally, I had a lot of unpleasant things to say to, and about, her. But the author kept me hanging in there and I was rewarded for my persistence. I could see what it was that had hooked Wes so thoroughly and understood his need to make her a part of his life. My heart breaks for the events that shaped Maria, but I’m in awe of the ending this pair fought so hard to achieve. Now, I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.
Wes is a member of the band Muse of Darkness and it turns out his sexy rockstar image is causing problems for the band. To fix his image his manager decides he should be part of the charity auction event to raise money for the local orphanage. When he meets Maria who runs the orphanage sparks fly but they clash at the same time. I loved this rockstar romance. From the great writing to the well developed characters this is a great addition to the series and I look forward to reading the next book in the series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Maria had a hard start in life but she's beyond that now. Wes is the bad boy, always getting into trouble. When Maria doesn't like him, he's surprised, since usually women fall at his feet. She's not going to put up with his garbage. Instant attraction, instant dislike on her part, instant intrigue on is part. But there's more to Wes than he shows the public and when Maria sees it she starts to soften. Together they might come out the other side. Excellent story of redemption and growth.
This is book 3 in the Muse of Darkness and this is my absolute favourite genre rockstars, bands etc and this is Wes’s and Maria’s story. Maria runs an orphanage she doesn’t like rockstars at all but she is friends of the women who’s husbands play in the band Muse of Darkness and when she meets Wes well let’s just say that it gets explosive. I loved this story/ series and I highly recommend this book.
All I can say is wow! Hot dominant drummer. What more could I ask for? I knew from book one I was going to love Wes. I counted the days waiting for Liz to give me his story and it was absolutely worth the wait! I fell totally in love with him and was on the edge of my seat as he and Maria traveled a hard road to their HEA. Maria was not who I expected him to be with yet I can’t think of anyone more perfect for him. I felt so sad for her and I know Wes will make her future much happier than her past. No spoilers. Just know this is not a sweet romance but it’s also not dark. It is very emotional and I loved every page. Thank you, Liz. You gave me exactly what I wanted. Wes is a dream come true.
