This is the 3rd and last book about Nephilim's journey to become a Guardian Angel, aka a cyborg.
A prequel to the fascinating and gripping series Behind Blue Eyes.
If you are a fan of post-apocalyptic science-fiction stories, this series is a must-read for you.

Nephilim's journey to become a killer cyborg is not only an action-packed, fast-paced, and gripping story. It's a story about the brutal future of the human world.

Behind Blue Eyes is not only a rollercoaster of brutal emotions and constant tension and fights for power between the biggest conglomerates in the world, it's also a story about human nature, that although being trimmed to be cold-blooded killer machines, some of them are still capable of deep feelings and emotions, even though they are outright forbidden and are considered a malfunction for cyborgs and not tolerate for the humans in the new world.

Nephilim is one of the most fascinating and badass heroines in the sci-fi world for me.
Yes, she's a killer and a cyborg, but even the most advanced technologies fail to make her to a complete subordinate machine.

I love the story, and I love her even if her decisions are sometimes very radical and heartless from humans' point of view.

I can't wait for the next book in the BBE series 😍 💙💙💙

This entire Nephilim prequel series was amazing but this book was the perfect finale to her younger adventures.

I couldn’t stop listening to this book. The audio is so well done and the story was paced in such a way that you kept wanting to know what happened next.

And Raphael…oh sweet boy. I won’t say anymore to avoid major spoilers but his story arc really got me in the feels.

If you are a fan of Behind Blue Eyes I highly recommend you read this series too and it would also be a great starting series to dive into Mocikat’s books if you have never read any of them.

Now a full guardian angel Nephilim and her classmates must begin their real lives. Under the tutelage of Uriel they complete their introduction, some more personally than others, and are matched with a partner. Survival is a requirement and nothing less will be tolerated. Not even on their first mission with enemy forces. Can they come out the other side as victors?

I received an ARC of this eBook from the author in exchange for an honest review. While I received this book as an ARC it has since been released as I am behind on my reviews. I apologize for the inconvenience. We all know I love Anna and her books, so I won't sing her praises too much. The book is just as amazing as everything else she's written and we now have a full picture of Neph's life leading up to where Behind Blue Eyes begins.

Personally, I loved this deeper look into Neph's past over the last three novellas and if you are a fan of Behind Blue Eyes, or soon will be, then you will too. Don't worry though, because resistance to the Blue Eyed Angels is futile. They will get their way in the end. At least if you go willingly you will have a more pleasant ride!

In this book a favored character from the last book re-emerges and I don't mean my series favorite Adriel. Although he is in this. I won't give away who or what happens with their story. I can't say I was surprised what happened, although the when surprised me a little.

And we’re back for the final time. The prequel trilogy charting the early life of Nephilim comes to a dramatic close.

I’ve very much enjoyed reading these books. As a fan of the main series, it’s been good to go back and read the origin story of our main protagonist.

If I had to give a negative, it would be that this book ends. I know that may sound trite, but it has been really interesting seeing Neph interact with the other characters we know so well from the main series. Watching her grow from a nervous child into a killer cyborg but also realising there are still human emotions in there as well.

Behind Blue Eyes is a great series. If you’ve not read any of the books, you should. Whether that’s diving into the main series or starting with the prequel trilogy. You can’t go wrong with either.

4.5 stars.

I was crying at one main part which I definitely felt what Nephilim had felt. I liked the overall action portion of this and to see her and Adriel, and the rest of the crew adapt to a more human lifestyle other than what I saw at Angelborn. I also liked that since the first book, the Angel recruits, and the overall view of their society was anti discrimination and LGBTQ+ inclusive. I felt like the ending was well done to end the trilogy here, but I'm even more ecstatic to see how Nephilim, Metatron, Adriel, etc are within the next 4 books. I've binged the entire trilogy in a matter of days. It's well worth the read.

This series has amazed me. It contains all of the cinematic action you expect from Mocikat. At the same time, her deeply convincing, expansive world is fleshed out further rather than contradicted by the additional material. This author miraculously conceived of 7 volumes all at once, and the prequel series has been an exciting opportunity to see who these Guardian Angels at the center of it all actually are and how they are built into the innocent children they begin as. This third volume, bringing us to Nephilim's becoming a fully-fledged Angel, left me hungering to reread the original Behind Blue Eyes series.

I’ve enjoyed reading the author’s Behind Blue Eyes series. This is the third story of how Nephilim came to be a Guardian Angel. The story answered a lot of the questions I had from previous books. It gives a fairly detailed look at how the Guardian Angels are ‘created’ and their capabilities. Additional world building occurs here and is again dark and gritty. I’m a fan of cyberpunk and this book gave me exactly what I was looking for.

Amazing!!

The Nephilim origins vol 3 is compelling and gripping. Cyberpunk at its finest.

The world is dark and deep yet something makes me want to live in it and experience what it would be like to be a bad ass cyborg.

I would totally want to be a cyborg!

I highly recommend this series!!

Origin finale

Slightly shorter than the previous origin story but more intense as we enter Olympias city and face off against it's enemies. Now all I need to do is wait for the next BBE story as this world is very well developed by Mocikat

An most thrilling story

This makes me love, respect and fear Nephilim even more. A deadly and beautiful killing machine. I look forward to the next chapter of her life.
