Sublime from cover to cover. George Perez is a legend in comics, and this is his finest work. Most of the book is his writing as well as art, marking his debut as a writer. I would advise readers to supplement this tome with a copy of Action Comics #600, which Perez worked on and is deeply relevant to this book, but sadly was not included as this is a Wonder Woman title only omnibus.

The classical spirituality and ethical politics of this work are fluid and graceful. It speaks deeply to me as a pagan, but there's a lot to love here for anyone. 10 stars out of five.

This was a 4.5 rounded down. Oh boy this took me a minute to get through. I'm still fairly new to comic books, and Wonder Woman is primarily what I've been reading so far. Most of what I've read have been elseworld/black label titles and fairly modern. This is the first mainline comic run that I've read, and the oldest by far. There was something very charming and nostalgic about these 80's comics/writing/art styles that I loved. I loved that Steve Trevor was married to Etta Candy instead of Diana. I loved that this run had a good blend of Diana in Man's world in a modern setting and Diana in Themyscira or Olympus where she's written more like a hero out of Greek Mythology. That being said, there were plot points here that started very strong that were not resolved well. Primarily with Hippolyta and Heracles. Initially, the assault and attack on the Amazons by Heracles and his men was hard to read BUT served a purpose.... initially. It went to show WHY the Goddesses of Olympus created the Amazons and why a race of warrior women was necessary to be champions for women and fight for women's equality. They weren't just bitter women who felt like being angry and mean to men, it explored the very real misogyny women face living under the boot of men. However, the way this point was resolved with Hippolyta practically in a romantic relationship with Heracles and Diana saving him from his punishment for what he did *to her MOTHER* was arguably harder to read. And it was all done in the name of "being the bigger person". Needless to say that did not age well. Another, albeit smaller and much briefer, plot point was Diana's interest in Superman. This ended VERY quickly and never went anywhere, which is good, but did lend to Diana expressing some sentiments about the "bond between the sexes" that didn't age well for a homosexual woman who promotes exploring Diana's bisexuality and giving her a female love interest and leaving Steve Trevor behind. I could argue it was a product of the time it was written, but given this was written during the HIV/AIDS epidemic and the horrible way gay people were treated at the time these sentiments were tone deaf and borderline homophobic then, too. That being said, I generally really enjoyed this run and hope to find more that leave out Steve Trevor and depicting Diana as more of a classical Greek hero. I really enjoyed this!

Considered the definitive Wonder Woman run for a reason, I instantly loved this!

George Pérez writes a brilliant story that expertly captures everything I love about Wonder Woman's character. The way Perez is able to explore her spirituality and moral code, and how they both intersect, is really interesting and refreshing to read. Her supporting cast are also all well-rounded, Julia Kapatelis being a particular favourite of mine.

The story itself is rich in Greek mythology, and I appreciate Pérez' more spiritual take on the Greek myth and Themyscira's culture. His art is also, per usual, iconic and spectacular, but I would expect nothing less from George Perez.

Btw, shout out to the Wonder Woman Annual for making me cry! Not many comics can say they've done that, but Julia and Vanessa finally getting to see Themyscira made me tear up.

Overall, it was a really amazing read, and I definitely am eager to finish his run!

When at its best, a magnificent read. The first part of the book is fantastic and well worth the highest praise. But the later parts are more uneven and not as brilliant in my opinion. Some highs and other lows. In the end a chain is not stronger than its weakest link. So while it is a wonder of a book at the start. The final score can’t be higher than this.

As a kid I had this like, overview of Wonder Woman book and reading this omnibus made me realize that so much of it pulled from this run. Didn’t love every direction this took (the Heracles forgiveness stuff, the lack of Etta Candy) but overall I really loved this. Excited to read more!
