Explains how we use our communicating processes to generate behaviours which unconsciously stand out on their own and speak for themselves. Covering everything from the sales process through to the close, the text considers the human communication processes present in a wide range of situations.
For those who didn't know Bandler is the creator of Neurolinguistic Programming NLP. When I first read this book I did not really "get" it. But for some reason I would keep picking it up and reading different parts of it. And than one day I realized the brilliance of the what Bandler had done struck me. My aha moment was that he had actually written into the book the actually techniques he was teaching. As you read it he is actually doing it to/with you. It takes a bit of insight to recognize this but it's true. I bought this book and keep referring to it for its practical ability to teach me NLP is a 'hands-on' manor so to speak.
The biggest lesson from this book is to be able to challenge organized beliefs that make desired outcomes impossible and be surprised by how it can instantly deliver results beyond your expectations.
It's a very hard to find book now, I got it when it first came out??? I remember giving a copy to my financial advisor in 1996, Peter Tenuta at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter. I had just spent 5 years studying purely NLP with Anna Russo, Rex Sikes and Will Macdonald before buying this great book. Now I regret giving this book away. I felt my Advisor needed this book. I had a great finance advisor and had a really good life back in the day..LMFAO. Life is grande. Be Extraordinary with your life and learn some advanced techniques with Persuasion Engineering.
This is a unique book. It treats PERSUASION like a serious science. However, the author writes the book like a novel, full of storytelling. Although this book is full practical persuasion tips, there is no single bullet point in this book, nor even "tips #1, #2, ...etc". This might be unusual for the readers who are looking for instant & practical solution :p
Hilarious book, a very fun and quick read. It's structured as a sort of transcript of an in-person training to salespeople by a self-professed hypnotist. A lot of what it says about sales (and implicitly capitalism) rings true. I'm not a salesperson so I can't vouch for the effectiveness of the specific techniques, but I encourage you to try (as long as you sell something with a low carbon impact).
(I'm personally more interested in NLP as in natural-language processing; neuro-linguistic programming not so much.)
I listened to the Audiobook/Seminar version which I believe may not be the same as the physical book. I'll have to read the book also. I did learn a few things from the audio.
Trucchi e metodi della pnl per convincere gli altri. Un libro che ha fatto furore. Ho seguito dei seminari di Bandler e La Valle e sanno davvero il fatto loro!
