I’m not going to lie. I’m completely exhausted from spending 3 hours making Thanksgiving desserts for tomorrow. And that was after two hours of housework and a full morning of actual work. So I’ll be brief here before my body shuts down. This was disgusting. I thought I was prepared, but I wasn’t. You honestly hate all four of our main characters, and aren’t sad to see some of them get mutilated and killed. But it was the process of how everything came to be that was most interesting. I wish the author spent a little more time fleshing out the ending, which was solid, in order to make everything feel truly complete. But most of the book is spent with this sick back and forth game of torture between two troubled spouses, at the hands of two intruders. And it’s just all very graphic and yucky. For anyone who has issues with their significant other, I recommend checking this out to see just how deep that goes. This’ll set you straight. Or make you more crooked. Or whatever type of shape you may strive to be. Happy Thanksgiving!!

This is the story of Stella and Dylan. They put the kids to bed and go to bed themselves. When they are suddenly awakened by a couple named Jay and Elle who have invaded the home. They just want to play a little game. Is it couple against couple? Spouse against spouse? A free for all ? This wasn’t as brutal as I expected but it was definitely extreme and a fun story. I read this in one sitting. I only recommend to those who like extreme .

This was incredible and didn't go the way I was expecting at all. The ending was great and I loved the author's note. Will be reading more from this author.

Well that was a fast paced, brutal, gory, disturbing read with a twisted ending that's just like.... What the .... That's fucked up. Sea Caummisar is awesome. She always brings it and has a way of making me cringe with some of her scenes. If you want a quick brutal read this one is for you. Home Invaded is full throttle from start to finish I highly recommend this one.

A quick nasty little read which packed in plenty of torture scenes and extreme scenarios...not to over the top but just enough to keep me interested.
I must admit I didn't see that ending coming and I didn't guess it either...it never even crossed my mind at any time, Stella was one cunning bitch!! But maybe there's a lesson to be learnt here??
Well written with a very good twist...another great addition from Sea Caummisar.

I received a free audiobook code in exchange for an honest review.

I wouldn't say I've read or listened to many horror/gruesome combo stories. Yet, I wasn't grossed out by anything in this story. I didn't feel there was enough detail to really get that grossness across, at least to me. The only positive was the twist at the end. That was an interesting surprise.

Moving on, the narrator read from one sentence to the next with barely a pause. Take a breath, man! With all the back and forth between the characters' talking, it was sometimes hard to tell who was saying what because the narrator didn’t take any breaths. There were also too many times when a character spoke softly or in pain, yelled, showed emotion, etc. and the narrator just talked normally.

Questions/Comments:

They used surgical scissors to remove a finger? Are you sure about that? Surgical scissors are for soft tissues. And Dillion didn’t pass out with how long it took Stella to slowly cut off his finger?

The reader wasn’t supposed to feel bad for Stella, right? There were too many times when I wanted to jump into the story to torture her. For example, Stella was wondering why L and J liked her husband more than her, seriously? Stella thought he deserved having parts of himself cut off just because he cheated? Or when Stella suspected Dylan had cheated. Yet she didn’t call him out on it at the time and was now all eager to ruin his penis and balls. Stella was just too much.

Why would they have used pruning shears, which have thick blades, to remove Dillion’s nipple and not the surgical scissors? When in reality either only the tip would be cut off or more than just the nipple.

The fact Dillion didn’t want to hurt Stella at all after what she’d done… I didn’t get that at all.

The news report at the end stated that the scene in the house was so bad that officers had never seen anything like it and were vomiting. So no one had seen a decapitated corpse or dead dog?

Too rushed and way too obvious

The only thing I liked about this book was the horror aspect, which, truth be told, wasn't all that creative. Needed more torture. Definitely should not be described as "disturbing". The characters needed some background, history, something... the entire book was rushed and escalated way too quickly.
As far as the ending, so many reviews have said "I didn't see that coming!" I'm convinced they didn't read the same book I did. It couldn't have been more obvious if it were flashing in a neon sign.
Very disappointing.

It was an interesting, enjoyable read. Gave me thoughts of the movie Funny Games (psychological thriller about 2 home invaders who play mind games on the family). It was creative and unpredictable in good ways~

This story as well as the characters are shallow and simplistic and nothing surprising happens. In fact, even the „twist“ is blatantly obvious. The grammar is bad in many places and it overall feels not edited at all.

At the end, there is a weird afterword where the author tries to make it sound like the story is deep or has some kind of meaning, and even this comes off silly and amateurish.

Honestly, I will not read anything from this author again. This book is not scary, not smart, just really lazy and unprofessional.

At a whopping 109 pages, I devoured this book in one sitting! It kicks off with a couple who wake up in the dead of night to find two unwanted visitors in their home, eager to conduct a twisted 'experiment' to see who loves who more. What ensues is a series of gruesome events that escalate to new heights of gore with a twist ending!

This novella is brief, so I won't delve into too much detail, but I found it entertaining. While the husband's reactions were somewhat implausible and the twist was predictable, I appreciated the gore, there was a scene that was intense enough to make me cringe! Although it's not the most extreme horror I've read, I think it makes a good introduction to the genre - for those seeking to get into the darker stuff! It’s not excessively bloody but still unsettling enough to recommend to my fellow horror lovers.

This could have been an okay extreme horror book had the writing itself not been so poor. The dialogue and pacing was jilted. And what was up with explaining some of the words in the middle of the story with parentheses?? That definitely felt like the author thinks their audience is stupid.

A good example is from the start of the book:

“These characters are fiction (fake)…”

That’s weird and definitely took away from any small moment of immersion I got from this.

The story itself was okay. Brutal and disturbing, as expected. Nothing ground breaking. Fortunately this takes about half an hour to read, but I still wouldn’t recommend wasting your time.

Dylan loves his wife and kids but he likes to let off some steam...at strip clubs and with random women. He believes he's in the clear and his wife is oblivious of his actions but 1 night proves she knows more than he thinks.

I did like the concept. Home invasions are scary (thanks to the strangers!) But this didn't deliver as I thought it would. There was some gore, but it fell flat for me. I think I expected more action, violence, and gore.

This was fast-paced and brutal for a novella! A twisted rollercoaster of torture and the shocking turn of events made it interesting.

Home Invaded by Sea Caummisar is a short, extreme horror novella and it was brutal!! This book was gory and descriptive so check those trigger warnings! Such a good idea for a book and I guessed the twist but I really enjoyed this one.

Pros and cons

Pros. The book is short, the story is very interesting. It’s very violent, and fits perfectly into extreme horror. I finished it in one sitting. That ending, I didn’t see coming, and the twist was definitely worth it.

The cons- The writing. This book needs an editor so bad it makes all the difference. As a reader, I didn’t have any emotions with any character. Even tho it’s a very short read, with no character development, the dialogue is rough and can make it hard to read through.

The twist at the end saved this book. I’ll give it a 3.5 star for delivering the as an extreme horror read, and with the twist. It’s worth the one time for the one time.

A happily married couple with small children and a dog are sleeping while two intruders enter their house with a gun and a black bag full of nasties want to play a game. What would you do for love? How much pain would you suffer? Scissors, pruning shears, nail gun and pliers will be stabbed, shoved, cut, hacked, shot, burnt, into eyes, sex organs and butts. This is going to hurt and truths are unraveled.

Dark, depraved, violent and brutal. Just what you expect from this author. An interesting concept regarding a couple who are made to torture each other to prove how much one loves the other. Relatively short and a quick read, and enough gore for fans on the genre to enjoy. Loved the light bulb moment.

Gore (check) I swear the eye ball (yucck hhheellll noooo)

I wanted to give this that five star so bad but, the man and woman who broke in were so back and forth it drove me crazy. And the ending was too rushed. I knew what happened but I wanted more details. Plus you want me to believe, they just let him live, left their house, and got caught? That easy??? After everything?? Yeah. No .

This horror novella was everything! I loved the depravity of our home invaders, especially Elle, and found myself horrified while also uncomfortably laughing at our home invaders antics. And kudos to the author because this ending had me shooketh. This is absolutely extreme horror and was not made for the faint of heart.
