This wasn't a bad cookbook. It had several recipes that I copied down to try. It had alot in it that I wouldn't make as well. No photos of any recipes other than the cover. It was okay but glad it was a library book as I'd hate to have wasted money on a cookbook I'd only cook/eat 9 of the recipes in. At least I found 9.
I love cookbooks. I enjoy reading the notes by the authors that explain why certain recipes are included or the theory behind the cookbook's theme. I also like looking at the recipes, getting inspiration for the meals I prepare for our family.
I love that the author has roots in New England, so her recipes often match the comfort food of my own childhood. I'm not sure how many of the recipes I'll make, but I certainly enjoyed reading the book and checking out which ones made the cut. I won't purchase this book, but it was certainly worth borrowing from our local library.
This one was a gift--and we've literally never gone wrong with any recipe within. The roasted potatoes and the macaroni and cheese are particular favorites. (For extra-yummy mac-and-cheese, try replacing the cheddar with Trader Joe's goat cheese gouda ...)
