Some people just seem to know they are meant to write, but it can still take a while to figure out exactly what their career will entail. Kate Douglas started out writing radio copy for a country western radio station in 1972, wrote and illustrated an educational cartoon strip for the American Mosquito Control Association for a number of years, was a newspaper reporter for a small town weekly where she covered everything from high school sports to drug busts, and then, in the mid-1980s, decided to write her first romance.

Many submissions and rejections followed.

In 1998, she sold to a small ebook publisher before anyone knew what an ebook was, but it wasn't until 2005, a full twenty years after finishing that first romance, that she signed with a New York publisher.

In January 2006, Kensington Publishing launched their Aphrodisia imprint of erotic romance with Kate's Wolf Tales, a sexy paranormal series about a lost race of shapeshifters. She went on to write 21 novels and novellas in that series, then wrote three other series for Kensington before moving to St. Martin's Press.

She has two series with SMP--The Intimate Relations series complete with three novels and one novella of romantic suspense set in California's wine country, and an erotic paranormal series, Feral Passions, set in California's Trinity Alps.

She is also continuing her Spirit Wild series, the sequel to Wolf Tales, independently.

Kate and her husband of over forty-five years have two adult children and six grandchildren. They live in the small town of Healdsburg, California, in the heart of the beautiful Sonoma County wine country.

Nice read. This single author anthology manages to mix together aliens who look like lions [think Vincent in Beauty and Beast for those who remember that far back:], Sensitives [people with psychic talents:], post-holocaust Earth complete with a Rebellion against the World Federation which is trying to wipe out the Sensitives. It has likable characters and an action-oriented plot. H/H's spend a lot of time hitting the sheets...

Kate Douglas does such a fantastic job creating her vividly detailed worlds its amazing. Her story and her characters flow so seamlessly that you'd actually think they were real and that she'd found a way to travel and tap into this other realm then wrote it for the rest of us to be a part of too! Not only does she take you on this intense ride she also burns up the pages with her very hot love scenes. Kate is not one to shy away from either seduction or passion, she takes it by the belt and throws it up to the next level! Talent like that takes a lot of work and in her words "It would take a lot of sex to get those callouses." Miss Douglas, what a way to enter your world! Oh my!

Three stories in one, all by the same author.

Lionhearted: Earth...sometime in the future. Aliens are real...and feared. The World Federation (WF) is the new ruling party. People with a little something extra are warily tolerated...until the WF can find a reason to eliminate them. Those with the something extra live at The Institute in an insular society. The daughter of The Institute's found, Mara Armand, is a telepath and very strong empath. She connects with Sander, an explorer who is orbiting earth. But then his ship explodes and he falls to Earth. The Institute members find him first and Mara brings him home with her to protect him and learn about the man she's fallen in love with from their nightly encounters.

Night of the Cat: Downsized, disappointed...and dreaming. Waking up in her dream from the previous night, Jenna is confronted by an upright, talking lion. Finding she been brought forward in time to a future earth, she discovers hidden talents with the help of the others in the rebellion her talking lion, Garan, is an integral part of in this world. Then a terrible weapon wipes the mind of her lion and she takes him to his homeland of Mirat to bring him back to himself.

Pride of Imar: Sheyna comes to Earth when her brother Garan returns from Mirat. She has knowledge to help others affected by the machine that almost took Garan. Barely arrived, she is kidnapped by a madman, tortured, and forced to face her dark past. But she has an ally in Malachi Franklin the human healer. He stands by her, loves her, and, when the madman kidnaps the children at a peace summit between WF and the rebellion, fights with her.
