Ravaged For You

Rate this book
A fake relationship with the most desired rockstar on the planet.

Ravaged. The biggest band in the world.
Four best friends.
No girlfriends.
Just us and the music.

I’m Axel Stoll. Bassist.
Arrogant. Impulsive. A free-spirited rockstar.
I have it all. The fame. The money. The girls.
But when an exposing video of me is leaked, things must change.

A fake relationship.
I laugh at my manager when he suggests it.
A completely false relationship with some down-to-earth girl?
Something… wholesome. For the press. Repair my image.
What a joke.
But it’s the only way my reputation can be saved in the eyes of our fans.

Maddie Leaver, a lowly publicist, is definitely not my type of girl.
Which makes her perfect.
She’s shy. Smart. Cautious.
Certainly wholesome.
And she hates my guts.

But she needs the money. Badly.
And I need a fake girlfriend.
Oh, one of us is going to get burned…

You say we’re only friends
You say this is not love
But I’m not blind, girl
I know it when two people fall

2 💘🤔⭐️s

The premise of this story was not original or unpredictable.
I don’t mind predictability, if the writing is gripping or outstanding. I am sorry to say in this case it was neither.
The development of the characters and plot was average.

Axel was the bassist of the rock band Ravaged.
“One of the top rock bands on the entire planet. Sexy-as-hell musicians in their mid-twenties with an entire list of number-one hits comfortably under our belts. Known throughout the world from Timbuctoo to the top of Canada. Say one of our names and I bet you can even get a Mongolian villager to start singing one of our songs.” Axel
“I am a fucking rockstar.” Axel

Axel being so cocky drove me crazy!!!!

The relationship between Axel and Maddie started as fake but later became real.
The ending was rushed and I wasn’t convinced of their I-love-yous or of any deep feelings (especially Axel’s).

I can’t say I enjoyed it...

Ravaged For You is the first book in the Ravaged Rockstar Series by Rebecca Castle and it is a knockout. She, as always, has the most well developed characters and story-lines. I can't wait for the rest of the series.

I wasn’t truly sure what to expect when I downloaded a sample of this book. I’ve read my fair share of rockstar romances and sometimes they can become predictable at some points, BUT not this one! This book was a breath of fresh air as far as rockstar romances go. It is extremely well written

There were a lot of things I liked about this book. First of all the characters were so relatable and likable.

I cannot say enough good things about this book. Download your sample now!!

I need this whole series right now. I need the story of Bishop and Axel's sister Chloe. I need to know who broke Drake in his past. I need the fun, sassy girl that is going to turn Caspian's world upside down. I need them all.
I'm now addicted to this series, and there's only been one book.
This book has all the hits of a solid rock star romance. You got the "Not like other girls" FMC, playboy rockstar MMC, fake dating for publicity relationship.
The writing could use a little more polishing. A lot got jumped over or breezed past. Maybe it's because I selfishly wanted more time with the characters, but I wish we got to see more of Maddie and Axel while the tour was going on and Maddie interacting with the boys more.
Is it a perfect story? No. But it's one of those books where you're enjoying it on pure vibes. Ms. Castle, please give me all the vibes.

This story was ok. It wasn’t bad. But it wasn’t great. I hoped for a better ending but it was lackluster. He’s gonna just let her walk away but suddenly changes his mind and goes after her? Why the sudden change of heart? The epilogue left you sort of hanging.

I knew the author wasn’t American without even looking at her bio. Americans don’t say “motorbike” nor do they say “fuck about”.

There were other plot errors as if the author had never been to a concert before. And a few grammatical errors as well.

But overall the story wasn’t terrible.

Nice story idea

But so many mistakes in sentences. Some don't make sense. We don't talk that way so I found it hard to relate to the characters. I felt like I was reading a kids book as the people didn't sound real. I know it must be hard to write these books but have you read it? This type of story had been told by so many writers so it would have been nice if it went a little different. These bands don't jump on jets for every gig. They use buses. I feel like you don't know much about the industry and here it is a cutthroat business and hard on the musicians sad to say. We have bands in every town about in the US. I have six musicians in my family. I also am learning guitar. So advice is do research when writing a story. Use the language of the area or stick to a country you known so you can be familiar with what you write. Don't mean to put this book down but I'm not reading the rest.

distracting

When a book hasn't been completely proofread, the mistakes distract from the story. This would have been so much better if that had been done. Missing words, extra words, wrong words. Just disappoint.

Two Opposites Rock Romance

Axel is the bassist for the rock band Ravage and he lives up to the rock lifestyle but now that fast and loose lifestyle may now be hurting the band so they have to come up with a plan.

Maddie is a publicist who is on the shy side and is really a “good girl”. Maddie is in need of money so when she is offered money that could really set her up, she takes on the job as being the “fake” girlfriend for Axel to help clean up his image. There’s a little kick to this idea because Maddie doesn’t even like Axel.

I’m hooked on this series already because this rock romance checked all the boxes for me and I’m looking forward to the next book in this series.

Maddie is a geek who bakes cookies, works hard, socializes little and is totally unaware of how beautiful she is. She’s also very shy, a total introvert. But she made a New Year’s resolution and damn it she’s sticking to it. Axel of cause is the stunning rockstar god who’s a gifted musician, confident, and is living his best life. He’s conceited and I’m having a hard time with the way he sees Maddie, but hopefully he’ll fall into “the bigger they are the harder they fall” category. As I read on I can tell Axel is definitely going to fall, hard. Maddie is not going to get away unscathed either. These two have chemistry and their first kiss had my Kindle on fire. This may have started as a fake relationship but Maddie breaks every wall Axel has around himself to pieces, the ending so romantic. I’m giving this book five stars and highly recommend it. I can’t wait to start book two.

I was so excited when I saw this book come up for review. Hot rockstars...sign me up!
And as usual, this book did not disappoint me, at all. I was hooked from the very first page! And I absolutely loved Axel. This book's spice and initial angst were excellent, and I can't wait for more from what will be an epic series. I especially loved the original song lyrics as well.

Axel Stoll is a rock star, playing in the band Ravaged. He lives it up with the groupies, and gets in trouble when one of them tapes the sexcapades for a tabloid. Axel's reputation as an arrogant womanizer is starting to impact the band negatively. Maddie is an assistant in a publicity agency that is supposed to help boost the record sales. Maddie is in financial trouble because she gives her mom more money than she can afford. The mother is religious, the kind that is all judgment and guilt tripping and no love and mercy. Maddie gets hired to be Axel's fake girlfriend, to make him appear more likeable and less manhoe. And both of them reinvent themselves as a consequence. Maddie learns to stand up for herself better and Axel figures out that there are benefits to stable relationships. He's got a case of not-like-other-girls.

Axel comes across a bit off-putting at first (he was supposed to, I think) but he's not all bad as he gets along with his mother and treats Maddie pretty well for the most part. The obligatory third act break-up is not very long. The plot is nothing you haven't seen before but I was entertained by the story and finished the book in a couple of days.

Steam level: Several scenes of sexual nature.

It’s the 2nd book in this series that I stumbled across and decided that I wanted to read. But I wanted to start at the beginning of the series which is how I ended up reading Ravaged For You.

Can’t say that I’m a big fan. The story line is a good one; an innocent, sheltered office assistant enters a fake relationship with a famous, arrogant, playboy rockstar who needs his image cleaned up. But it’s a bit of a mix of a well oiled, managed rock band mixed with childish, high school drama, rivalry with the next town’s high school, but in this case another rock band. Are the 16 or in their 20’s?

Axel is the bassist of the band. Overly cocky & arrogant, he frequently refers to himself as a rockstar and even introduced himself to Maddie’s mom as one. Really? He’s that shallow? The story progresses as one would expect - things get physical between Axel & Maddie yet neither discuss if they are or are not developing feelings. Not until the end of the agreed upon fake relationship comes. The story ends with a hea and a hint of more of Axel & Maddie in the book 2.

The maturity of the writing in this book pales in comparison to many of the other authors writing rockstar romances. I will read on to book 2 to see how it progresses.

This book is really the type of book that I devour. Nothing better than a rockstar romance in my opinion and I really loved all of the characters from Maddie to the band members. There were a lot of rock star scenarios throughout the book with them coming out with a new album as well as a short tour. The dynamics between the band members were probably my favorite parts. You could really feel the friendship that they have.

The thing that prevented this from being a 5-star read for me was it was a little too short and because of that there was not enough development of Maddie and Axel's relationship. I am not a fan of insta-lust and I don't think this book was that but once they started hooking it up was more based on that than an emotional connection. There were some past struggles that they bonded over which I appreciated but I just wanted more to develop the relationship. It was hard to grasp Axel being a super playboy to falling in love with Maddie within a few weeks. Some more emotional connection between the two of them would have helped that.

But overall, I enjoyed the book and will be going onto the next one.

Curbing His Tendencies . . .

Axel Stoll, bassist in the popular band Ravaged, has been having a bit too much public fun. When someone videos his out of line behavior, his reputation starts to cause issues. His Manager says he needs a fake relationship with a sweet, “wholesome” girl-next-door type so his fans can see he is not the jerk womanizer he has been acting like recently.

Axel thinks it’s a joke, but they bring in Maddie Leaver, an assistant in a publicity agency, to be his sweet girlfriend. Will their experience together change both of them for the better? Will Maddie stop catering to her selfish greedy mother who takes advantage of her generosity and throws guilt her way to make her give even more? Will Axel see that a strong relationship with mutual respect and caring is far better than wild orgies that respect no one? Will this fake relationship clean up his image as everyone hopes?

Axel: Hot bassist in top rock band Ravaged. Maddie: Lowly publicist at good firm. Maddie's firm is hired to do the publicity for Ravaged's latest album. Their rivals are releasing their new album on exactly the same day & Ravaged need to beat them. Then a sex video of Axel is released & the band's reputation is tarnished & starts to plummet. They need damage control fast. How can the band rebuild it's reputation & recover? Maddie has a new job as Axel's pretend girlfriend. ... Yes it's a predictable story line. Beneath his arrogant, rock star persona Axel is actually a really good guy. Can Maddie fill out the period of her contract without falling hard?
I loved the characters & the way the storyline developed. Sadly I can only reward 4 stars due to the abysmal editing that leaves you at times struggling to make sense. The grammar is often poor with the wrong spellings or word used or missed out completely.

Ravaged For You is book 1 of a series about the band Ravaged. Each book is about a different couple.

This is the 1st book Ive read from this author.

𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙤/𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙚 = Axel Stoll and Maddie Leaver
𝘾𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧 = No/yes
𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙚 = Yes
𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙢𝙚(𝙨) = Rock Star Romance ♥ Fake Relationship ♥ Dual POVs ♥ Outgoing, playboy & the wholesome smart publicist ♥
𝙏𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙜𝙚𝙧(𝙨): Language ♥ Sexual Content ♥ Dub-Con
𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝙇𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡 = 🔥🔥🔥🔥
𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙧 𝙍𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 = ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2

Axel = the bassist for Ravaged. Has the nickname "Active Axel" for his past time activites. Doesnt believe in relationships. Living the rock star dream.

Maddie = Smart. Super Cautious. Little "nerdy". A bit of a push-over. Desparetly in need of money. Never heard of the band Ravaged.

When Axel puts the success of the band in jeopardy... He is pushed into a 3mth fake relationship with Maddie to help clean up his image. Hesistant at first... but the money is too hard to pass up. They both embark into new territory.

“She’s an innocent angel who’s stumbled into my cave of sin.”

Standard rockstar fake relationship romance it probably only should get 3 1/2 stars as the plot is pretty predictable and the writing isn’t very polished but I’m rating up because Rebecca managed to make me like the hero by the end. I didn’t think I would as he was so conceited and arrogant at the beginning I thought he was irredeemable. Somehow though she pulled it off and in a believable way as well. I liked the secondary characters too, enough to continue the series. So yes, I recommend this book if you are looking for something not heavy or filled with angst and emotions and like, as I do, rockstar romances. Bishop is next. I liked him so this should be fun.

Maddie works for a publishing company and is asked to find a way to raise Ravaged’s profile in time for their album launch. Maddie’s recommends that Axel (the base player) stops sleeping with so many women and cleans up his profile. Due to the bad timing of Axel’s antics she is offered the role of his fake girlfriend. The pro’s are that she will never need to work again. The con’s are that she will have to pretend to be with Axel.
At the core of this story, if you ignore the angst, then this is a sweet romance where two people (who fight it all of the way) are meant to be together and fall in love.
This is a really good story and a great start to the series.
I can’t wait to read the other books.

Good, if predictable story

Very predictable story. I’m sure I’ve read the same premise before. There’s always the degenerate rock star reformed by a heart of gold average girl.
And this could have used a serious proofreader. Is that no longer a profession?
That being said, I liked this book and I’m looking forward to the rest of the series. Once you got past the annoyingness of Axel, he was a real guy. Loved his mom and sister. Loved his band. Paid tribute to his childhood best friend.
And Maddie, I liked her too. She had a lot of childhood to overcome.
I just don’t appreciate that every time a Christian is portrayed, they are over the top weird, like Maddie’s mother. But I’m glad Maddie broke free of her mother’s chains.

Rockstar Fake Relationship
My rating: 3.5

Heat: 6/10
Emotion 6/10
Story: 7/10
Characters: 6/10
Interest: 6/10
POV: Dual
No cheating

I liked the story, there wasn't much angst (which i like) and i liked the whole band's vibe and secondary characters.
However, i found the writing a little immature especially when describing personal thoughts and feelings.
Also, i was going to give it a 4, but i didn't like the end, it felt like a small cliffhanger to me and i don't like cliffhangers.
I might read the next book to see what's in store.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. Axel and Maddie end up together thru his bad actions and her desperation. This was a story of bad boy finds a good girl who definitely doesn't want to like him. This whirlwind fake romance becomes more real as the days go on. Sparks fly and feelings are on the line. I liked the characters but the story, as easy as it was, didn't flow very well at times. That caused me to be distracted from it some. It was not a bad story, just wish it was smoother I guess. 3.5.

The Rockstar storyline is a favorite for me. But this is going to be a DNF for me. This isn't the first romance I have grabbed that was written by an Australian person.
Honestly if you are going to write an American story do some research on slang and ways of speaking. I was evident early on this writer was not from the USA and definitely had no knowledge of Wisconsin where the heroine was supposed to be from. There were a lot of other glaring errors but I kept wanting to like the story but at 33% I just could not take anymore.
I know writing is hard work but reading this was harder than it should have been.
Sorry. No way can I recommend this book.

Will this fake relationship really repair his image?

5 star excellence from start to finish. Who doesn't love rockstar romance with a storyline that grabs your attention from the 1st line to the last line. After a video of Axel is leaked his image needs an overhaul so his manager suggests a fake relationship. Maddy, a lowly publicist is the lucky candidate. She's shy, smart, cautious & hates his guts but really needs the money. Will she survive this fake relationship without being burnt.

This is the first book in a new series, and this is Axel and Maddie’s story. Axel is a famous bassist, but his career is on the line when a damaging video is released, and he needs a fake relationship for damage control. Maddie is a shy and introvert publicist, and she agrees to fake date Axel. This is a well written story which is an opposites attract romance, with combustible chemistry, angst, emotions, intrigue, redemption, and love, which leads to an entertaining and steamy page turner.

When Axel's impulsive behavior threatens the band, their manager comes up with a ploy to put things on track. Maddie is shy woman, who never heard of the band, but hurting for money she can't pass up to pretend to fake date Axel.

This is good fake date/ opposites attract story with the right amount of heat and easy to read that was perfect for a lazy day.

This is the first time I am reading this author. I got intrigued by the blurb and decided to give this book a shot . This is rockstar, fake relationship romance. Axel is a rockstar and his reputation is impacting the band image negatively. Maddie is the publicity agent who is working to boost the record sales . Maddie is in need of money and pretends to be Axel fake girlfriend. Overall I enjoyed this story and it was an enjoyable read.

really enjoyed this book but lacks editing.

I really enjoyed this story but felt in a lot of places it just didn’t seem to read ‘proper English’.
There were lots of I’ll instead or I’d and even didn’t’s when it should have read did.

Love the bands characters and the plot. Will continue with the series at some point but due to the way it was written and edited I’m going to leave it a little while else I’ll just pick holes.

It was okay. The story is not at all unique so its hard to do anything wow it.

The dialogue didn't really work no one speaks like that. There was this weird rivalry thing with another band that was a bit childish and served no purpose.
I wasn't convinced by most of the industry rock star stuff.

There is though potential, the pace of writing was good, no waffle and likeable characters.

Finished it in one day! I really enjoyed this story and - especially - Axel’s character development. Maddie and Axel have incredible chemistry & banter throughout the book.
The witty remarks kept me snickering & then wholesomeness of the interactions warmed my heart. It was not as spicy as I expected & I feel like there could’ve been slightly more sexual tension between them.
Overall, character development was incredible, Maddie was super relatable & I’d recommend it!

The Bass Player Playboy and the Quiet, Klutzy Publicist Assistant

Ravaged for You by Rebecca Castle was a fun short read. The book flowed smoothly with lots of action. There were steamy scenes but they only added to story! I enjoyed this rockstar read and will be reading the rest of her “Ravaged” series.
