When booktok lets me down it lets me down hard. This was 😕. Where is the editor, where is grammarly…? The writing was bad but the story was worse. Idek what to say except thank god for kindle unlimited. Is this mean im sorry. Maybe its just not cup of tea.

After his countless appearances in the Towsend Brothers stories, I was curious to learn more about Brutus. I knew there was more to his usual strong and silent demeanor. I wasn’t disappointed. Then there is leading lady Mia Raymond. After a mutual long overdue vacay in Tulum, their pair’s story begins to unfold. While on vacay we also get to introduce you to more new characters including Mia’s older sister Sharise, BFF Carlene & Brutus’s Army Buddies. When the pair return home the real world begins to present challenges to their budding relationship. However, the pair try their hardest to make it work. Of course, there are a few unsavory characters who are seeking revenge on our couple respectfully. Then there are of course appearances from the Townsend clan both original and next generation. I won’t spoil the story, both I loved how the Townsends pretty embrace Mia on sight and treat Brutus as part of the family not just as another employee. Brutus’s dad Rick was a standout with all his antics as well. You also see the growth of Brutus and Mia both as characters as the story progress. There was plenty of action, humor, and steamy romance. I am glad that Brutus and Mia got their happy ending. I am looking forward to Aaron and Patience’s latest story next.

Thank you book tok for leading me to this author! I really enjoyed this book! It had all the things I like: a curvy FMC that I can relate to, a 6”4 bearded protective man, dual POV, I even liked the insta-love because it sort of made since with them on vacation. The only thing I was confused about was the drama very close to the end of the book. It didn’t really make sense to me. But the spice was 🥵 and I didn’t have to wait a million years for it like I do for most of the books I read. 😂

Mia and Brutus meet during their flight to Mexico for much needed vacations. They instantly hit it off and from there a love blossoms.
Both Mia and Brutus were easy to like characters. Brutus is head of security for the Townsend family so of course they make an appearance and Mia’s family and friends were great because they kept it straight with her. Which I’m glad they did because the amount of times she doubted their relationship was a little annoying. Luckily Brutus was all about Mia and was not letting up.
Now for the “conflict” I think the misdirect was good because I was legit confused but I wish we would’ve gotten more of all the suspects so when it’s revealed it feels earned.
There were some grammatical issues that surprised me coming from this author. Overall I enjoyed it.

Brutus has always been the man behind the scenes but in Personal Protection, he literally steps out of the shadows. Brutus finally takes a vacation and meets Mia on the plane. Mia is everything Brutus didn't even know he needed. Mia is strong, sassy, and an independent woman who lets Brutus know at every turn that she can take care of herself. They're a super cute couple! Brutus's dad, Rick is a great character and helps bring the two together every chance he gets; and his "brothers" come through at every turn. Brutus will need to pull out all the stops when a threat comes for him and for Mia. All in all, we finally get to see that even though Brutus is a bit of a brute, he's also very much a babe!

Immediately I loved Brutus. The way he was protective even with just meeting her, and then just being straightforward from the beginning literally had my heart in a hold. He knew what he had when he saw her and went after it. Mia, being the sweet and friendly person she was, is the perfect match for him. I enjoyed reading about her coffee shop and how she had big dreams for it and making it come true. My biggest favorite in this book tho? An African American mfc. She was a total boss and did everything she put her mind to. I loved her energy throughout the book.

Quick(ish) Review
This featured the bodyguard, Brutus, from the main Townsends series and he’s as cinny roll as these alphas get. It still follows the basic formula of the earlier books and still violent at the end but sweeter than previous books and I enjoyed that.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, suspense, secrets, and heartbreak.
This is Mia and Brutus‘s story. They meet on a flight and have a holiday fling. With them being so good together he wants the relationship to continue after they head home. But she was a workaholic, and he is one too. She wants to open a coffee shop and not work herself as hard. Can they find a middle ground? What about the people who are determined to get in the way of them being together? Can they overcome everything and build a future? Or was all it ever was really only a fling?
I recommend this book.

I had a hard time connecting with Brutus and Mia, and I struggled to get as far as I did. It just felt like something was missing, even though most of what I read just dragged on and on. This was my first read by this author and likely my last.

Mia had her own personal protection security
From the day that she and Brutus bumped into each other at the airport, he knew that she was "THE ONE." Brutus' height and perma- scowl usually intimidated people and they left him alone. Not with Mia, they fell into an easy comfort with each other and talked about everything. Brutus was determined not to let Mia out of his sight. Their love and affection for each other took off like a jet, moving too fast for Mia and not fast enough for Brutus. Mia never dreamed that by quitting her job and going on a sabbatical she would find the love of her life.
Brutus had not wanted a family of his own until Mia., who made him realize that he already had a family, the Townsends. Even though he worked as head of their security, he spent more time with them than anyone else. But Brutus knew that he was serious about Mia and he would make sure that he would not only tell, her how he felt but that he would show her through his actions.
Both Mia and Brutus had people in their former lives that thought that they were entitled to want ever they wanted in their feeble brains. Brutus made sure one of them got what they deserved but the other person, he felt responsible for. He was the only person that would protect her and he failed. He would never fail again.
It was great to read about the brothers and their families in this story. It was like a Townsend reunion. Now I have to go back and read all the books again.

Thoughts - so I was in the mood for some Insta love and this book did not disappoint!!! Brutus has all the perfect Insta love qualities, he's huge 😉, possessive, loving and if you touch his woman you won't live to talk about it. I was hooked from the first couple of chapters. Mia is strong and capable. I loved that she continued pursuing her dreams and his family supported them too. Also that spice 🫠 this book hits the spot if your after a book with rom com vibes, a touch of suspense, possessive alpha MMC, curvy and confident MFC and that Insta love we all love to love sometimes.

ARC Reader : this is the first book I’ve read by this author. I did enjoyed this story. I thought it flowed seamlessly with the timeline and with the MC’s feelings towards one another. It might feel a bit “insta-lovey” but when you know you know! (; I was a little confused about Brutus’ job, kinda thought he was part of the Mafia by some of his behavior, maybe it would have made more sense if I would have read other stories with the side characters first? Also, the words “button” & “cat” when talking about below the belt? 😂 NO, total cringe. Lol

Brutus was underhanded when he canceled Mia car rental reservation, he knew then and there that he wasn’t going to let her go at the end of their vacation. And it turned out to be one heck of a vacation.

I knew Brutus would bring it!
Are you wondering what it is? Well, it is the Alpha and the everything you don't want to second guess. I expected him to be brooding, and somewhat aloof. I did not think Brutus had the capacity to be this level of openness. Mia was his kryptonite and I loved it.
The story gave us a chance to meet the real Brutus outside of the Townsend compound. I like this family and the way they go all in for anyone the Townsend's consider family.

I didn’t even realise this book was about THAT Brutus!! I was so happy when I realised it was another Townsend spinoff and it didn’t disappoint. Quiet but lethal Brutus has been in all the brothers books but wasn’t focused on much except for backing the boys up until he finally stops being a workaholic and takes a much needed vacation. As usual it’s love at first sight when he sees Mia and he understands finally why the Townsend men are so obsessed with the women in their lives.
Another good read fro TP. I know she has another book out in November about Aaron but I’m hoping she follows up on the other brothers too.

Tiffany strikes again. Now it's Brutus' turn to find his soulmate, and he does exactly that when Mia literally runs into him. Sparks flew from the start, and things moved quickly. Mia gets the big guy to open up and become her all very quickly. She fears their chemistry is too good to stand the test of time, and Brutus is there to show and prove.
Excellently written and absolutely fiery! Brutus' wing men, the Townsends, were also there to back him up. Well done!

I am glad that Brutus got his own story. He has appeared in many of the Townsend stories. I like how the Townsends made a appearance in this book as well. I read this story in one day. It was refreshing learning the background on Brutus and how his relationship developed with Mia. I am glad the Townsends recognized how important Brutus is to their family. He is not just a bodyguard. Great story and characters.

I'm so glad he got his happy!! Mia was a sweetheart and they chemistry was off the chain! They connected over books and vibes and it was awesome watching it unfold. The love scenes were sexy and hot and the action was excellent.

Brutus and Mia was the love story we were waiting for. It was great to see how Brutus fits in with the Townsend’s. As far as I’m concerned Brutus is a smoother and more protective version of Aaron. Mia is another driven and beautiful Black woman, who wraps a protective & supportive man around er finger. Enjoy the love story!

A fun and sexy read! I always love reading anything Townsend. So Brutus's story filled that quota for me. He and Mia were so hot and sexy together. And he certainly proved he was the man for the job. I need my very own Brutus... lol It was also great that the Townsends showed him how he meant to them. This book was so good! I loved it!

Can a personal protection specialist really go on vacation? NO! Brutus is about to find out the hard way, but in the best way possible. Brutus and Mia should really be ships in the dark- passing on their merry way. But no with a shared interest in books a conversation begins and does seem to be able to finish. A lovely Townsend bonus book with Townsend family appearances. A good read.

Mia quit her corporate job and went on a sabbatical, her work always kept her from having a lasting relationship. Then she met the head of Townsend security and the passion ensues. I love this book and the update s on the Townsend kids you mention all the ones we knew about and the new ones but you never mentioned Carter and Michelle 2nd child. What was his name Samuel. Looking forward to more updates and stories.

Love Story
I thought Aaron and Patience were my favorite couple but I just love Brutus and Mia story.
I like that they both accepted the pull that they had for each other. They didn't try to run from it. I can read their story over and over again.

Townsend adjacent
I love the Townsend’s, the Townsend cousins, but Ba-by! I love me some Brutus 😍 His love for Mia and protectiveness 🔥🔥🔥 I love that Mia was portrayed as a plus sized, brown skin girl with brown eyes and coilly hair. A beautiful black woman that could represent someone I know. The chemistry between her and Brutus was tangible. The cameos were a bonus. It’s always good to catch up with Carter, Aaron, Tyler, and Josh.

He is truly a protector inside and out. Loved his vulnerability and Mia was no pushover. They have an amazing balance to their relationship. This is an amazing romantic suspense. Tiffany Patterson does it again….
