MC Daddies #9

Daddy Fox

Rate this book
Assassin. Master of disguise. Criminally handsome and smart.
Yep, the Fox had it all.
Except someone to call his own.
But he could make that happen, right? Who wouldn’t want him? He was a total catch.
There were just a few tiny problems.
His life was dangerous. He had enemies. And a job that he had to finish.
He wasn’t entirely sure he knew how to take care of someone else. But surely there was a manual on how to be a good Daddy Dom, right?
Oh, and the woman that he’d decided was his . . . had a boyfriend.
Hold on tight . . . things are about to get interesting.

Please note: This book is not meant to be read as a standalone. You will want to read the rest of the series first. This book is MMF and contains a sexy Daddy Dom who is an assassin and has a warped moral code.

He was vastly underestimated as the hero of this story.

Before I get to my review, I want to say a few words about the ARC Program -- more specifically, the ARCies who get books for free and then spoil them for others. I don't understand why they do this. Is the spoiler function simply beyond them? Can't they amend their reviews for Amazon? I've complained about them for a long time, but their tendency to provide in-depth plot summaries is particularly problematic here, given that this book reveals so many secrets. So, if you don't want to know what happens, I suggest not reading them. And, Ms. Roberts: you're a well-established, best-selling author who doesn't need the ARC program. At the very least, could you please tell your ARC team to stop revealing salient plot points? I mean, is that really too much to ask?

Okay, rant over; on to the review. Here, we get the story of Fox (or is it "The Fox?"), a significant secondary character who has appeared throughout this series. As the author warns us, if you haven't read the others, you will be lost. It starts en medias res and even the Character List at the end will not help you. Ms. Roberts also helpfully provides trigger warnings (many other authors refuse to because they say that readers don't like spoilers...uhm, see above for what I say about ARC spoilers, which they don't seem to care about). That said, I, personally, didn't find this book that dark.

The Fox has always been a fascinating character: a master-of-disguise assassin with a unique personal moral code (he never kills the innocent) and wicked sense of humor who over the course of several books has learned to process simple human emotions the rest of us take for granted. With Brodie and Autumn, he finally gets the chance to both give and accept the love he's always wanted, but will his profession put his Little and his Middle in danger? And that's all I'm going to say about plot (other than that I appreciated the twists at the end).

I really liked both male characters: Brody, in particular, is atypical for this genre, and very empathetic and endearing in his dorkiness. I'm not a ménage fan; that said, we did get hints that the Fox was attracted to Brody in previous books and the blurb was very clear; I certainly wouldn't deduct stars for that. What I am disappointed in is the author's by now caricatured, cookie-cutter, klutzy, book-of-Job heroine, who diverges not at all from any who have come before her (surprising that the Fox would like someone so bland); the unnecessary length (I skimmed a lot); and repetitious dialogue. I realize that given her book sales, Ms. Roberts doesn't need to change her style, but professional pride should dictate at least listening to a good editor.

2 1/2 stars. There's no way that such a highly-anticipated book can please everyone, but I was really bored. Most fans, however, will love it. Note: I don't think this is the last book; if it is, it's a shame that we didn't get to see .

ETA: Ironic that the reviewer taking all of us "snarky bitches" to task for, uh, just leaving a review actually rated a book they love one star. I wonder if they realize that.

This is the story i’ve been waiting for in this series, the story that would show me who the Fox really was.
So,getting the ARC was a real treat, and it gave me exactly what i’d been hoping….
Not only the fact that he found his own little,ánd his middle, but also the story of who he is.
Where he came from, why he is the man he is today, and why he deserves his own happy after.
Helping his little Bunny by not only saving her life, but keeping an eye on her after.
And instead of being jealous, finding the Pup that she grows close to a natural addition to the mix.
Being protective of both is something that means he even develops something he never had before…
Feelings. And fear….Fear of something bad happening to them. Fear of losing them.
And even though he read the manual on how to be a good Daddy, there doesn’t seem to be one on how deal with feelings.
Lucky for him,he’s got Autumn, his sweet little Bunny, and Brody, his sweet Pup.
They are showing him every day by wanting him, needing him,and by loving him ánd eachother.

It was a story that took time, but that was necessary.
Because all 3 needed to deal with their own issues.
Autumn survived the senator’s torture.
Brody had grown up with 6! older sisters that enjoyed making fun of him way too much.
And the Fox…..let’s just say there was a good reason he didn’t do friendships,or allow feelings to color his life.
It was a story that had it’s sweet moments, humor, and was still hot at times.
In short,this was a story i loved!

I still love this as much as I did when I read it for the first time.. if not more. 😍 Everything about it is perfection. Still shocked to the core about a certain family revelation. I REALLY hope we get a short novella of them together at Christmas or a wedding or something.

I highly recommend reading this series in order as you get SO MUCH MORE from it.

Nov 2023 review:

My God, this was everything I wanted and more!! 😍 My most anticipated read of the year and it did not disappoint!

~The Fox lives a dangerous life and he’s not willing to risk anyone with enemies in every corner. He was her hero and now he’s obsessed. Only problem is she has no idea he’s stalking her, or that he wants her boyfriend as well. Although he did say he wanted two littles.. Autumn has been trying to move on from being abused. The first person she lets in is Brody. The two become fast friends and eventually more. He knows he’s a middle and could never be her Daddy but maybe they have room for one more..~

WOW! I am so amazed with how good this book was. I mean, Laylah Roberts never disappoints but this was a whole new level of amazing. The Fox has always been a mystery and we find out so much about him and even a bit about his past. We even find out more about couples from previous books in this series - which shocked that crap out of me. I loved every second though!

Autumn is so dang sweet and such a clutz. I absolutely adore her. Her relationship with Brody is so sweet & fun, and had me cracking up so much. He comes out of his shell so much with both her and the Fox. It was nice seeing Foxy let loose and be human. He’s so possessive, protective, and bossy, I’m obsessed with him. I honestly cannot stop thinking about this.

Everything about this book was perfection!

Thank god it finally ended - spoilers ahead

I think this was an interesting concept (DDlg+lb) and had lots of potential. Unfortunately that potential is slowly suffocated by annoying and pitiful characters. There are a couple of books in this series that I’d reread and that I really enjoyed. This one, I couldn’t wait for it to be over. I just couldn’t make myself stop reading - I wanted to know if the mystery of Mr. X’s boss would be resolved. It was.

It’s an odd sort of slow burn. Like, they’re in a committed relationship pretty early and then there are literally hundreds of pages after that where they learn what that means for them. Then finally there’s some action before another slowdown before we finally hit the climax.

OMG - get an editor! Someone who would have said that this story does not need to be 750 pages long. I have notes at 25%, 38%, and 52% that the story is slow.. still slow.. maybe I should DNF. BY THE WAY, 25% of a 750-page book is about 187 pages in… and it was still so slow 390 pages in. You could probably start this book at 50% and still have more than enough buildup and context. Things of action/significance started to happen around the 55% mark. I’ve read many of the author’s books so I know she likes to slowly develop the relationship but jeezus. Please get an editor who will tell you to condense the story when it’s of the “paint dries faster” variety.

Autumn is almost insufferable- definitely annoying. She can’t cook without stabbing or burning things. Can’t get off the couch without falling. Can’t eat without choking. They can’t even have sex without her causing some injury to herself. Is she supposed to be in little space permanently? I couldn’t figure that out but the constant refrain of her injuring herself and the two of them babying her… well, it got old really fast. Fox and Brody were basically her emotional support people, in the most draining (for this reader) way. Remember when we used to complain about characters that were TSTL… yeah.

Whereas the Fox in the previous books was clever and sorta playful on top of being deadly, this book’s version was just off to me. Ridiculously egotistical to the point of cringeworthy and lacking pretty much any emotional intelligence except what he reads in books. The Fox was like Sheldon Cooper + Ethan Hunt. It was a frustrating combo on top of Autumn’s annoyingness.

And then poor put-upon Brody had to deal with the two of them. Autumn and all her needs just take center stage at the expense of his needs being met by either of them. He almost came off as just their plaything for much of the story. We don’t even see his liddle/middle come out for so long. He’s basically the responsible adult of the relationship since Fox is often off doing his thing. He was always trying to keep her safe from hurting herself or drying her tears or babysitting her, while accidentally get kneed in the stones three times I think.

I get it. It’s about a seemingly impenetrable man learning vulnerability and healing the trauma that lead him to adopting the persona he did. And about an abused woman trusting and finding her self worth and silencing the old voices in her head. And about another man who has felt insufficient all of his life becoming a valued and adored person. But crap, it’s still boring. And that’s a shame. I hope this isn’t the end of the series. It shouldn’t go out like this.

The couple: Fox/Brody/Autumn

Romance trope: menage; DD/lg
Series: MC Daddies
Length: 751 pages

Plot: Fox the assassin is finally going to get his girl. And his boy. Since the night he rescued Autumn from the evil senator, he has been keeping watch over her. When she begins seeing Brody, the awkward computer expert, his first instinct is to get rid of him, but he soon realizes that he could have them both, and they could each give Autumn what she needs. But he has enemies and must keep them safe, even when that seems to be the opposite of what they need.

Commentary: I really liked these stories when I started the series. I might have outgrown this series though. I like the relationships, and I even like the overarching story of the Fox and Mr. X, etc., but a lot of the basic elements have become caricatures of themselves. Each heroine has become increasingly more and more awkward and incapable of doing the simplest task, such as cooking, holding a job, or walking. Each of them is childlike even when they are acting as adults, and the the Little space seems alternately forced or some sort of uncontrollable regression rather than an actual kink. In this particular book, each of those problems was present, but I also found the sex scenes lacking; they felt like a recounting of a movie scene complete with intimacy advisor rather than something sexy and intimate.

In this book, we have the addition of Brody, a Middle (although Fox insists that he might be younger). He suffers from many of the same problems as the character of Autumn, although he gets more adult time. Ms. Roberts has written quite a few MMF books before, and usually I dislike the arrangement in her hands because the MM pairing seems to get much more attention than either of the MF pairings or the menage as a whole, leaving the relationships feeling unbalanced. In this case, there was a good reason for Autumn to delay intimacy with the men, and so I didn't feel that same unbalance.

I did like the reveal about who the Fox was - as much as we got. I would have liked more - maybe his name, a description of his true face. But it was satisfying to get the motivation behinds his dealings with Markovich, Emme, etc. (I feel like we already knew the deal with Sunny- she reached out to him when everyone else would have looked down on him or ignored him, and that spurred his devotion to her - one of the sweeter aspects of the series and a good way of showing not telling Sunny's characteristics).

I will also add that the book was way too long. Much of the plot was on a loop; the same scenarios were happening over and over before anything new happened. We know that Autumn was suffering aftereffects of her kidnapping, but we had to see the same meltdown multiple times when once wold have conveyed the same message. Over 700 pages - so much of it could have been condensed or deleted without harming the story at all.

It's not that I didn't like the story; I just found it a little stale.

Grammar/formatting: Better - not as many colloquial mistakes. I recently saw an argument on facebook where people were mad that anyone would dare complain about authors using something other than American English. I don't know what started the long post, but I know that I don't mind British/Australian/New Zealand spellings or vocabulary in a book where the setting is specific to those places, or even where the setting is vague, but this author has a bad habit of using very specific New Zealand wording when her books are set in Texas or Montana. Nobody in Montana would use any of those particular words, phrases, or spellings, so it seems like pure laziness in editing to not have the dialogue match the setting. Anyways, it was better this time, and I don't know if that was an editing decision after all this time, or just luck.

Low-key one of my most anticipated books this year, the mysterious assassin-for-hire ‘Fox’ has been popping up all throughout the series and I was dying to learn more about him.

It’s a lengthy book, which I was super excited about. I like that it took its time establishing the relationships, especially with Autumn’s trauma, but it still felt very surface level and stationary. There are only a handful of locations and characters we see. I would have loved for more interactions with the MC and the other Littles (especially Sunny! She’s so important to the Fox and we don’t see her at all?!) Dialogue and situations started to feel very repetitive going into the second half of the book.

It delivered mostly what I wanted. I was really hoping this would be MMF with the Fox, Brody and another little because of the hints in previous books and was over the moon when teasers started to come out and we learned it was. Loved the hurt/comfort elements and I was laughing so much throughout this. Loved it, and I hope dear doctor Hack is up next.

This was waaaaay too long. I’m a fan of chunky books, but not 700 pages. Also Brody was 100% the third wheel in the relationship. And I loved him so much, he deserved more.

Autumn was just… annoying. She wasn’t all that interesting and I have no idea how she kept herself alive since she can’t even walk without injuring herself. I think it’s weird that the Fox became obsessed with her because she was nice to him. At the end their romance made no sense to me. There were so many times I wished it was just Fox and Brody.

Overall this was ok.

Doesn't live up to the hype

For it being a trio, it was very strange. It was nothing like I expected. In the beginning it seemed like it was going to be about bunny and fox... By the end of it- she was kinda just an extra for Fox and pup. I had such high hopes and had wait a LONG time to read this one... I stopped half way through.

DNF At 20%. This author persistently presents this very weird idea of D/lg. The women are always extremely infantalised, traumatised, incompetent, inept, regressed, and worryingly reliant. They barely function in their lives.

It’s not fun. It’s not fantasy. It’s not good writing. It’s not good kink. It’s not at all intelligent nor mildly interesting.

Gah damn this book was way too long for no reason.

I feel like the rest of the series was just the prologue to this book. It was not my favorite in the series, but still a decent read. It gave what it gave. For my first dive into this kink, it wasn't bad. Not sure if its for me. Had to see it through though.

This book was just not it for me. I have loved the MC Daddies series so much and enjoyed the occasional glimpse of Fox in the previous books. I was excited to see that he was getting his own book and even more excited to see that it was a manage.

I do enjoy Layla Roberts daddy books, they are mostly slow burn books and that is fine by me, but this one is SLOW. I have had to put it down quite a few times these last few days because I feel like it’s just missing something and nothing important was happening.

I really love Brody and Fox together. I really enjoyed their moments together, I was not a fan of Autumn, however. She was very bland and when they were all together she always seemed to make everything about her. Whether that was falling down, talking before thinking, or always somehow getting hurt. No matter the situation she could not just let Brody have a moment and get some attention. Even during the spicy scenes with fox and Brody, autumn would appear and fall on her butt randomly and they’d have to stop to coddle her. She was very needy.

In my opinion, this book would of been better with just Brody and Fox, I really enjoyed their connection. I felt like Brody had to keep his middle hidden because Autumn always needed so much attention. I felt like she was always in little space. But I also felt like Brody was the third wheel when Autumn entered the room because she always demanded attention.

I’m looking forward to more from this series. But this one was not my favorite.

Wanted to read this book because the Fox was a fascinating character and the over arching series plot had pulled me in. The book started well and all three characters had great potential but it was way too long and the relationship wasn't well balanced. Bunny's character ended up two dimensional detracting from the over all story and the other two characters. Had to push through to finish.

Rating 4. Full disclosure I received an ARC Copy from the author and here is my honest spoiler free review. CW: This is an MMF story with elements of Age Play. It also includes mental health issues and mild violence. There is also off the page SA.

This is the book avid fans of Ms. Roberts have been waiting for since the first MC Daddies book. It is fully of snappy one liners and humor which Ms. Roberts is known for in writing. It definitely a hurt/comfort story. This book has a lot of reveals and some fun but predictable twist. This book is incredibly long, probably a little too long even for a slow burn. This is not the end of the series, so we will see where she takes us next.

*swoon* 🥹🫠🥰
This was everything I wanted and hoped it would be, and more.
I’ve been waiting and hoping for this book’s release since we first heard about the fox. So a couple years now, I think. And it did not disappoint.

First off. Brody and Autumn are absolutely fucking adorable when they’re together.
I just can’t even get over how completely cute they are.
Then the Fox! Oh my God!
He’s so stinkin protective and insane and stalkery and possessive and just plain cute.

I can’t believe how far back these three’s relationships go. All the little hints in the other books were driving me crazy with the possibilities, and finally seeing what was going on in the background was just so much fun, and so exciting.

I really love all the fun and humor and playtime that we got in this book. It just created such a good contrast to the Fox’s natural scary and murderous vibes.

Then the sex was fantastically paced between all three of them. They each had their own speed, and preferences that they got to express and explore with each other. The care and consent that was given to each of them was beautifully written, even though the Fox had a bit of a hard time adjusting to having morals and boundaries🙄😂.
Not a surprise for this author, I always love the way she incorporates kinks and aftercare and the necessary discussions that have to come along with those things.

I really loved the pacing of their relationship developments. They took time to fully form, but the journey to get there was full of care, healing, and growth on everyone’s parts. And the destination was so satisfying and full of love for each other.
It was honestly so swoony.

I just loved this book.
I love these characters.
I loved the plot. So full of surprises that I never saw coming, and confirmations of foreshadowing that I noticed from the other books in the series.

It might need another round of light editing to get out the few remaining spelling errors that are here and there throughout, but none of that detracted from the absolute joy I got out of reading this.

Honestly, I think I might just go back and start over from the beginning again. Like. Right now.
I’ve become emotionally attached to these characters.
I’m not ready to move on to the next book.
I don’t want it to be over yet.

Has to be one of my favorite books ever! Love the series and this book, these characters... Oh yeah!

Reread Dec 9, 2022
Honestly, I think I could read this every day and it will still be my favorite!
I love Fox... Damaged as he is, his sense of humor rocks and so many people miss it, which brings its own delight! Learning more of his past, brilliant. And Brody... Sweet, gentle Brody is the perfect foil not to mention how fun he is when he plays with Fox. And Autumn is just a delight! I honestly can't wait to see them interacting with some of the other characters...

April 2023
Every read, I'm delighted by Fox. (He is my favorite through the series!) the cast of characters is just too much fun. The growth is what really sets this one apart.

June 2023
This one is always going to be a favorite. I am pretty sure every book before in the series was just to get this one where it was.

Dec 2023
Yup, love most everything about this one, but I will say the emotional payout is not the same when you read it without the 8 book lead-up.

October 2024
This will forever and always be my favorite story.

February 2025
There's always something that jumps out at me when I read this one. The power of the build up in this series is absolutely incredible.

November 2025
no matter how many times I read it this one remains powerful. it is officially my favorite book, but you do have to read all of them to get the massive emotional payout, but it is worth it every time. (excuse me while I go have a book hangover now)

Too long

I read the other 8 MC Daddies books and was looking forward to the Fox getting his own book. Unfortunately this was not as good, it was very repetitive and seemed to drag. I found myself skipping pages to find something new and interesting.

A bit forced.

No plot spoilers
There are some potential triggers relating to kidnap and sexual abuse.
There are some errors but nothing to get irritated about.
The characterisation isn't the strongest, and I thought the Fox's character remained within the parameters previously established for him. What is lacking is a deeper understanding of his own motivators. We are given some basic additional backstory that is released over a long period, which doesn't really change how the reader sees him.
We don't even learn his name.
Brody is the outlier, and to be honest I was disappointed with his personality and character development.
Sweet but not entirely realistic.
When a character uses 'pet' names such as boy, pup and bunny it can be cute. When those names are used almost exclusively it becomes a way for that character to distance from those they are addressing. That's when cute names become irritating.
I don't think Foxy used Brody's name more than twice in the book.
Autumn is another kettle of fish entirely. I find it incredibly difficult to suspend belief enough to take on board her uber subby personality type.
There is absolutely no doubt that a person who is a very young 'little' would be inclined towards being submissive, but I very much doubt they would become the world's doormat and so naive they would live with their fiance the way Autumn did.
I found parts of the book quite repetitive, and the storyline was particularly circular for the first half of the book.
I think it could have lost quite a few pages and been a better read.
I have just about everything the author has written, but have to admit that the Senator Robbins plotline has been done to death and I am unhappy at using kidnap and rape as a plot device.
If the resulting storylines held any real attempt at intrigue I wouldn't feel so strongly, but they don't.
I believe I may have hit the point where each new book reads much like the last and I possibly need to search out new authors.
If you are a fan of the genre I have no problem recommending the book, but be aware it's the latest in a series and to obtain the best reading experience you would probably enjoy the series from the beginning.

This was such an epic story, it was totally beautiful and the characters, my gosh did they certainly make the story interesting. Laugh out loud moments come from bunny, she really is a character of epic proportions. I loved her and her little she was adorable. As for Pup well what can i say he wasnt a little but was a middle and a brilliant one at that. I loved that he always spilt things on him a wonderful nerd!!! As for the fox himself he really was one of the good guys, and slowly with the help of his two wonderful littles he learns feelings and love.

Autumn, saved by the Fox from the senator, she calls the man who saved her, her hero, but the fox has claimed her for his own, he uses his disguises to help her get another house. However Autumn is still a bit skittish and still has panic attacks.
Brody works for Ink, he is a little/middle and he likes Autumn alot. He is abit of a Klutz but i just love him. and it seems that seeing that the fox has seen them both together, he has claimed them both. Both these littles are so funny together, however Brody helps Autumn a bit more. Fox will look out for them both, but things are hotting up on his side getting closer to Mr A.

So many things one can say in regards to this wonderful wonderful story. But one thing i will say lastly is that there are a few surprises in store for all and of course with these littles, loads of laugh out loud moments and one has to always smile at fox and his antics.

After eight other books I was so READY for the Fox's story and to see it play out.

I was a bit disappointed with this book, it was a sped up behind the scenes of what was going on with Fox/Bunny/Brody throughout all of the other books, the first chuck of the book was just set in one place and was mainly just mundane day to day living with the Fox popping in occasionally. The middle was more of the same but just in a different place with and with smut every two pages. Then there was a tiny sliver of actual story and plot with a plot twist (that was obvious it would be that during Emme and Reyes book). Some more smut and mundane living then a tiny sprinkling of drama for Bunny (that also was easy to spot waaaay back at the beginning of the book when we first met Bunny's ex).

All in all it was an okay book, could have been condensed down to half the size and it was a let down for what I had imagined Fox's story would be. There was so much unnecessary dialogue that I found myself skimming so much. I hope this isn't the last book because I hate leaving a series on a bad note.

THE FOX NEVER DISAPPOINTS. Okay, so this book is around 300 pages longer than the rest in the series (on my kindle), and I wish it had 100 more. I wish there was one thing in particular that happened at the end of the book that didn't, but I also kinda get it. This is 1000 percent worth the effort to get through the first 8 books to read this. Daddy Fox was everything I was hoping for and more. The twists and turns were awesome, although I did have every single one figured out and guessed. But it didn't ruin it for me because it was written better than I imagined it. Ugh. So good. I don't want to give any spoilers. But there is high spice content for this series, too. Just. Ugh, chefs kiss honestly the character development, struggles, twists, and overall story. 12 outta 10.

Daddy Fox
Wow! This book was everything I hoped for and more!
I LOVE the fox and I love Brody and Autumn! I also love that Brody and Autumn had time to bond before joining the fox. Even though he was always close and had claimed them they still had time to connect with each other before they formed their triangle! Autumn was so cute, always blurting out things and practicing her ballet moves. Brody was adorable with his silly t shirts and legos! I love the fox’s confidence! I also love that he plays with them. The nerf battle with Brody was epic!
I would love to see the fox and Autumn meet Brody’s sisters in a Christmas novella! I think that would be hysterical. It took me two days to read this book, I kept putting off finishing because I didn’t want it to end. I loved every word and hope to see snippets of them in the future. Also I really want to know who helped the fox with Brad and Laura!

I have been waiting forever for this book and it missed the mark just a bit. First, the Fox was his scene stealing self and just awesome. I was just a bit disappointed in Autumn and Brody. I totally got the Brody and Fox relationship. But the Brody and Autumn relationship was just awkward. Either way, this was a very long book that revealed who Mr A. and it was a surprise that he had a connection to The Fox. Autumn's ex boyfriend and friend were a unnecessary distraction. Overall, it was a good read just wanted more Fox. Hopefully we get get a book about Cara.

So disappointed

This book was way too long for the story. Too man repetitive sex scenes. I loved Fox's inner dialogues and some of the interactions between The two littles were very funny. I just expected something different I guess.

I have waited for Fox's story. I was so excited that he got the two Littles he wanted. I absolutely ADORE Bodey. I can't wait to read the rest of the MC Daddies books. Hack is next and I'm waiting not so patiently.

Have been looking forward to the Fox’s story since book one but this was incredibly disappointing. Same old heroine, but make it MMF and super boring. Great. The Fox and Brody deserved so much better, they both deserved their own dom or at least a much better third.

The Fox, the Bunny and the Brody-Bear

I've been looking forward to this book for a long time and it did not disappoint. There were so many sweet and funny passages, and the Fox being his usual self, I feel like I highlighted half the book! If you are on the fence because of the length of the book, it is a fast read for it's length - Ms. Robert's writing style is smooth and so enjoyable, she's one of a select few authors that will read a long book by them. Another excellent book, bravo!

I don't know the last time I was so excited for a book or the story of a particular character as much as I have been The Fox's. He has been an enigma and a fascination of mine since he first showed up in a MC Daddies book.

The pairing of him with two Littles, Autumn and Brody, completely made sense. The way Laylah constructed their different relationships really spoke to her skill and craft as an author.

Besides tackling a three-person relationship, Layla also managed to fill in some character/world mysteries/blanks in the various storylines in the MC Daddies series that we have all been wondering about with regards to The Fox.

She also managed to tackle some pretty heavy trauma, insecurities, and a Daddy who had never had Littles before and also had his own struggles with interpersonal connections.

As always with a good Laylah book she left so much to the last 10% of the book and boy I didn't see some of the twists and turns and revelations revealed coming. I felt pretty tickled that I did manage to have one thing right throughout the series and found myself shouting at 1:00 a.m. in delight, only to be struck completely speechless and shocked when the rest of the dominos fell.

This was a nice long book, filled with so much detail and storyline, I feel that The Fox's story truly deserved as much. I know from being in Laylah's reader group how much we were all looking forward to learning more about The Fox and who would capture his heart, and anything less detailed and less delightful just simply wouldn't have worked.

I know this book will be a personal favorite of mine and will be reread often. I left it so happy but so sad to see it end.
