Their arrangement will just be an exchange of services. He’ll let her tell the world the campus player took her virginity, and she’ll give him the opportunity he’s been waiting years for.

This book should be used as a how-to on taking all heat and spontaneity from sex and intimacy in a romance. Straight cringe.

I am the target market here. I love the virgin/manwhore trope. Virginity bets are my thing. College romance is my favorite. I even identify with the Purity culture religious upbringing…. And yet… this was baaaaaaad

The story doesn’t make sense. The drama is manufactured with super low stakes. All the tension is taken away since we have the hero’s thoughts the entire time. And he’s been in love for the majority of the book. Even the bet isn’t a source of conflict because the h knows about it and all but orchestrates it.

Kinks are thrown in at random in the cheesiest most awkward way possible. No depth at all. It’s got it all… and not a single one is done well or organically, it’s all talked to death and the hero is already a card carrying expert as he’s sexed literally all the people in all the ways dozens of times. Nothing at all is exclusive to the MCs. Nothing.

The hero’s sexuality is treated like a kink and mentioned on the fly out of the blue at 50%. Even though we’re in his head quite a bit, he never even hints that he’s into men too. Not even kinda. It’s just dropped as a bomb after he’s done the deed with the h, to make him seem more edgy. It was handled so strangely. And then just forgotten. Okie dokie.

Characters are one-dimensional. The h’s main characteristic is that she’s a virgin due to Purity culture. It’s literally the ONLY thing she talks about. Ever. Every single conversation she has is linked back to her religious trauma. She even drops little prayers periodically. We could really have used some nuance and subtly here. I grew up in a very similar religious culture and no one was this one-dimensional. I can relate in a lot of ways but I found that it was concentrated on too much.

The fact that the h is a 20 yr old college student makes the story seem silly. It made sense for her 18 year old sister (in book 1) because she was still in HS and lived at home… but this heroine has plenty of freedom. I’m not understanding the struggle.. just live your life as you want 🤷🏼‍♀️ why all the drama? Why force it? Who are you fighting against? It just doesn’t make sense to me… all the production around losing your virginity and escaping Purity culture… just do your thing. It doesn’t require plans and pronouncements and bets and timelines. It’s like she’s creating another straight jacket for herself and for no reason. She doesn’t have parents to rebel against. They are a non-issue. She’s on her own. This story makes more sense for a younger girl. Nothing is at stake here. It just seems weird.

The author’s self promo on FB indicated a big grovel where the h has a backbone and makes him work for forgiveness but I didn’t see any of that. The “big betrayal” was a whole lot silly nothingness - barely more than a technicality that wouldn’t have changed the outcome regardless… and both of them treat it like he cheated on her or something. And then they “break up” for 4 days with no contact… then he sends her an apology video and she caves. HEA. 😐🫠

Damn. This was bad. DNF @ 61%

The cringe. The awkwardness. The lack of chemistry. The randomness.

I can’t. I’m out.

Since I’ve literally slain the only other book I’ve read of this author, I was feeling a lil bit guilty and I’ve decided to give her another try.
This one was quite good and low angst, and interesting because it deals with some peculiar themes.
- it’s a young adult, so be warned. The characters are 20 and in college, so if this is not your thing you may find it boring.
- it’s about some strict Christian believers that thinks that sex is only allowed in marriage, never before. So. I’m Italian grown up in a catholic culture and for Catholics sex is forbidden before marriage. Our mothers were very strict about it but thank god nature is stronger than nurture- at least in this case- and none of us girls reached the altar as a virgin. But I can understand it could have been traumatic for some girls that thought that sex was a sin and their emotions were wrong. Maybe some of us can’t have a normal and satisfying sex life because of this. The heroine is one of these girls. She wants to have a healthy sex life but she still feels shame for her reactions. So she decides to find a willing partner that would help her to get rid of her inhibitions and of her virginity.
Aaaaaannnndddd she does it on TikTok, because this is 2023 and teenagers do everything publicly on social media.
- guess what happens when she goes public with this: in 30 days she will get rid of her virginity. All college frat boys bet who will be the one to do the deeds. The hero decides he will be that one. Not because he wants to win the bet, but because he has his personal reasons.
- the hero. Oh my. He’s a selfish brat, a fuckboy, yes he has his childhood trauma because his mother had him at 15 and her parents, rich and Christians, basically rejected her because of this sin. So he grew up between his mother, a woman who never found another man and treated him as a friend and not as a son (which is very very wrong) and his grandparents that gave him money - he always kept for his mother- and paid for his tuitions. Now he doesn’t want to have anything to do with them anymore and since he’s a spoiled brat he wants to humiliate them publicly declaring he has deflowered a Christian virgin. About this. It’s ok to reject your grandparents because you’re angry and you don’t accept them and their beliefs and you hate what they did to your mother but it’s very hypocritical to behave like this when you’ve been kept by them for years. This is trying to be a democratic with a republican purse. A very fat republican purse. How shallow.
- the heroine. I understand her issue but she’s a mass of contradictions. Ok she wants to be a good non virgin Christian but she’s as prejudiced and stiff as the people she’s running from.
She chooses the hero and then she basically becomes a slut in less than one hour which is quite unbelievable. But ok, this is fiction and we can accept this as we can accept the fact that the hero, a commitment phobic until he meets the heroine, suddenly falls in love with her and wants to marry her as soon as he breaches her maidenhood. And I’m not joking folks. I think this could be a divine revelation, it seems proper.
- since he’s a weak and insecure boy he doesn’t tell her at once, but he tries to make her fall in love with him proposing six weeks of exclusive sex. How romantic.
- the big teenage drama is nothing. The heroine finds out the hero told some lies to win her, and instead of being flattered, as the little prim prejudiced bitch that she is, throws a tantrum and dump him.
- some days later, after the hero went TikTok - almost- with a video where he cries and asks for her forgiveness, she decides to give him another chance. Poor hero. With such a high maintenance girl I don’t know how happy he can be. His choice though.
- my opinion of the book. Opposite to the previous I’ve read, the hero is really in love with the heroine since he first met her, and therefore faithful to her despite being a previous fuckboy, and he’s actually nice and sweet. And the few lies he tells her are really ludicrous and innocuous. I wouldn’t tell he’s a manipulator. He was trying to win her but she knew he was going to, so what. In the beginning she was only looking for a ons - basically- one who was good at sex, not a partner so he didn’t owe her anything.
The story shows the reality of teenagers and young adults, where sex is casual and loses every romantic meaning- which is quite sad, as it’s sad the emotionless way both characters talk about it. I might be older but where are those fluttering in your belly, where’s the heart ache and the shivering, those emotions that are obvious absent in these people who treat sex as basic corporal function.
And the other obvious fact here is the exhibition of one’s feelings where everything is made public and therefore loses its importance.
“Travel and tell no one, live a true love story and tell no one, live happily and tell no one, people ruin beautiful things.
Kahlil Gibran”
- eventually I can say I enjoyed the book, it was quite fresh and - incredibly- safe. The hero had seen the heroine on TikTok but never met her, but he was celibate after meeting her.

3.5 stars. I read this mostly because the author promoted it as having a great grovel in a Facebook group I belong dedicated to finding books with good grovels. I’m not sure that was the best idea. If you have rock bottom or zero standard of grovel then this might work for you as a good grovel but I have a high standard for groveling and this isn’t even close to it. If you’re tempted to read this for the grovel then I wouldn’t bother. He does try and I’ll give him credit for that - I’d even say that he gives more effort than most heroes who’ve fucked up - but it was extremely underwhelming overall.

Spoilers ahead, particularly concerning the “grovel” but also other things for context. If you don’t want such specific spoilers then don’t read further.

The h goes in with her eyes open. She lays forth a proclamation she’s going to lose her virginity in the next 30 days on TikTok. She has a platform on there talking about purity culture. She knows what kind of dudes it’s going to attract and she immediately clocks H as one of the ones to avoid - except she doesn’t avoid him. It’s clear he’s manipulating his way into spending time with her even when she’s shot him down. He’s honest with her about things that make him look like a douchebag so she believes everything he says without much critical thought. His conservative Christian grandfather wants him to join the family business and he decides to best way to handle that is going live on TikTok with h after he takes her virginity. Honestly, this doesn’t make much sense to me but it’s made to be a big deal in the book. The h is a bit hurt but is glad he’s being honest at least.

He’s an asshole to her after they have sex because he’s feeling vulnerable. He’s caught feelings at this point and she’s trying to make sure he knows she knows it’s just sex which hurts his feelings. He’s not a huge asshole but he’s an asshole all the same. However, He convinces her to keep sleeping together for three weeks so he can try to make her fall for him. It works. They decide to stay together.

Then she bumps into one of the other guys she’d considered. She realizes that H had told some fibs and manipulated her into dismissing this guy. The guy tries to tell her that H really cares about her but she’s triggered by his dishonesty and dumps him.

She needs space so he gives it to her. Then when they meet up an unspecified amount of time later he tries to explain and apologize. She’s exceptionally angry that he didn’t believe she was a virgin before their first time and he’d told people “she’s probably lying” about it. (An ex of hers had lied and told H that they had had sex once before they broke up). She accuses him of being an actor and now she cant trust anything he says or does.

He mopes and gets some insightful advice from grandma. Then h gets some insight from her sisters fiancé who knows H well. H gets help from a friend to show h a video of him trying to explain himself and tell her more truth about how dishonest he’d been with her, specifically things she didn’t know he’d been dishonest about. He specifically references wanting to embarrass his grandpa with the TikTok live they had planned BUT doesn’t name specifics so she knows that this isn’t about that for him. This works for some reason and she agrees to meet him to talk.

He tells her more things and she agrees to friendship sort of. He agrees he’ll “be cool” if she wants to date others (though he’s dying inside). A week passes and they hang out more. He invites her dinner with his mom and grandparents. The grandparents had disowned his mom for getting pregnant with H when she was just a teenager. At the dinner H tells grandpa he’s absolutely not going to work for their company (a restaurant that promoted conservative Christian values) and he’ll have to make amends with the daughter (his mom) they disowned if he wants family to take over. The h decides she loves him and tells him so after dinner. HEA.

I don’t know. It’s just not really a grovel. Is he sorry? I’m sure he is. His “grovel” is explaining things to her? I mean, apologies and explanations are a needed element in a grovel certainly I just expected more. It’s hard to prove to someone you won’t manipulate them anymore. A few conversations and a family dinner aren’t going to do the job. It’s time and effort and open honest communication to build trust slowly. Let h see him prove he’s not going to be manipulative over time, let him put in the effort to show she’s his number one priority. Let him sweat it out while she goes on an awful date that he doesn’t try to break up. Do I want h dating another man? No, but let her see H won’t try to manipulate his way into breaking up a date. I don’t even need h to have a good time with OM just to establish H means what he says. Then he can be there for her and they can laugh about her awful date together. Let her see that H can learn to communicate his feelings and concerns without manipulating her because it’s easier than explaining himself.

Safety - H was a raging manwhore before h. Never bang the same girl twice. Well except one girl he occasionally hooks up with. He’s hanging out with her in the beginning of the book. There are no sex scenes between with other people. No cheating. I’d call this pretty safe.

This book was very weird, and not in a good way. First of all, I’ve got nothing against people who believe in God, Jesus, etc – but I prefer to not read it in fiction (unless it’s a small part of the characters' backgrounds). And I THOUGHT this was a story about a heroine who grew up with that stuff, but is moving away from it. Well, it’s not! I don’t want to be one of those people who gives a low star rating to a vampire book because I’m like, “This vampire book had too many vampires in it!!” But this is marketed as an angsty New Adult book. That's misleading. It reads more like Christian fiction. If you like that genre, that's completely fine, but I do not read it, and I don't like being misled!

Anyway, the plot: the hero and heroine are college students. She grew up in “purity culture,” a branch of Christianity that emphasizes no sex until marriage. (At least, that’s my understanding from a documentary I saw a while ago. This book barely explains – like it expects us to just know). She’s now a TikTik influencer, posting about how that mentality was toxic for her. She posts a video announcing that she plans to lose her virginity (as part of her efforts to overcome her sexual shame that came from growing up in purity culture). The hero is the campus player, and his frat has a betting pool going on about taking the heroine’s virginity.

The one thing this book has going for it is that it’s NOT a “she was a bet!” plot (even though, confusingly, it seems like it’s setting that up). From the start, the heroine is aware of the bet. So, there’s no angst or tension about “when will she find out?!” But….there’s also not much angst or stakes about anything! Early in the story, they mutually agree that he’ll be her choice to sleep with. So, the entire flow of the story is odd– no tension, and not much plot. Just the characters awkwardly orbiting around each other, after they’ve agreed that they’ll have sex. There is some alright dirty talk, but it feels sudden and random, like this story threw it in Just Because.

I felt like I was missing so much context for the heroine’s behavior. We’re told that her upbringing was toxic, but we’re not given specifics. She’s still got a good relationship with her parents AND her church and pastor. That seems bizarre, for somebody who says she has “religious trauma.” She uses that phrase! Wouldn’t she want to break away from people and institutions that gave her “trauma?!” I need to know why she feels that she has “religious trauma” but she somehow DOESN’T feel that it comes from her parents or her pastor. Who was telling her to do purity culture, then, if it wasn’t them? Or, if it WAS them, then why isn’t she breaking away from them? None of this makes sense!

As for the hero, his behavior also makes very little sense. When they have sex, he SUDDENLY decides that he’s in love with her. This didn’t feel in-character for somebody who spent his life avoiding relationships like the plague. I might buy it if he didn’t use the word “love” and just acknowledged that he was catching feelings in some vague way. But nope! It’s full on “I’m in love with her!” That made him feel like the kind of hero written by a 14 year old Wattpad writer, not a real college aged guy who plausibly exists. And not THIS specific guy. He just suddenly changes his whole personality on a dime. It didn’t feel like natural character growth.

The characters in this story just feel…fake. I know that all characters are fake, because they’re fictional! But good authors can make them feel real. And this book doesn’t do that.

Vanessa story takes place 3 years after her sister Livvys book. Vanessa like her sister was raised in purity culture, and it’s had a negative impact on her life and how she views herself. Vanessa is a college student with a large tiktok following because of her Vidoes based on her religious beliefs, virginity, the toxicity of purity culture. She ultimately decides to lose her V card and made a titkok about it which drew a ton of male attention.

Carter is the hot shot player from a Frat at the college Vanessa attends. He’s obviously aware of her videos, and has always been drawn to her. Once he finds out about her video he doesn’t waste any time making himself known as a candidate. Carter however has plans of his own, to use Vanessa and her social media to get back at his grandparents.

These two obviously have a lot of trauma but in different forms. Neither expect that they’d catch feelings, they both just wanted to get one thing out of this situation. This book just like book one does an excellent job of depicting the purity culture, and how it affects someone mentally as well as physically. It obviously has the spice, some praise kink.

Thanks to Sky for sending me this to arc read!

The book can be best described as a throwing shit at a wall and hoping it sticks.

The central premise revolves around the clichéd trope of a manwhore and a supposedly intelligent virgin. However, the portrayal of the female protagonist falls woefully short. 1) An intelligent Christian girl would be very concerned about her sexual health and sleeping with a man as promiscuous as whatever this dude’s name is. 2) An intelligent woman is nuanced - this girl’s entire personality seems to revolve solely around the concept of purity culture and shame. It is difficult to relate to a character who incessantly discusses this topic with every single person, especially when she herself has publicly set a timeline for losing her virginity on Tiktok. The contradictions within her character are evident, making it challenging to understand how she aims to keep her privacy whilst issuing some sort of challenge to the general public telling them that she’s slim pickings. Girl bye.

Furthermore, the book attempts to address issues related to Christian morality but falls short of providing a nuanced perspective. The author seems to aim for promoting Christian fiction while simultaneously criticizing certain white Christian morality. This contradiction results in scenes that come across as flagrantly disrespectful to the religion itself, leaving me questioning the author's intentions. For example, the association of Jesus within the sex scenes. I say this as someone non-Christian and typically unconcerned by such scenes but whewwwww goddamn the lengths gone to dog on the faith, when their level of practice is so different from .. say Christians in the Middle East and Africa, with unique liturgical practices, church structures, and cultural expressions arguably closer to the origins of the source. Dare I say your sexual trauma with purity *might* be something to do with coming from midwestern, white, American Christian/Mormon family… maybe explore that element too?

Amidst this lack of coherence, the book introduces random scenes that add little to the overall narrative. One such scene involves the sudden emergence of the "daddy" trope, which feels out of place and disconnected from the main storyline. Similarly, another scene reveals the hero's bisexuality, which seems to be inserted without proper development or relevance to the plot considering we have his POV for the entire story. Additionally, a scene featuring a hot pastor feels arbitrary and fails to contribute meaningfully to the story.

In conclusion, this book fails to effectively comment on or address the themes it attempts to explore.

I’m vocal about my dislike of almost all NA books. But I admit I have an affinity for Skyler Mason. She takes on a difficult subject and leans into it.

I’m a practicing Catholic. As Catholics, we are taught to abstain before marriage, but truthfully very few actually do. As a Catholic parent, my first talking point has always been be safe. You can’t honestly expect teens and young adults to simply abstain from sex and that’s going to actually happen. I can’t imagine how blindsided children from an evangelical Christian, purity culture must feel in the real world.

3 stars for an imbalanced story, the end feels a bit rushed, and their conflict near the end feels forced, particularly when she already knows he’s manipulative. The real conflict of the story is his relationship with his mom and grandparents. I know this is a romance, but that should have been a more fleshed out plot point and dealt with in more depth.

Thank you to the author for this arc!
This book follows Vanessa who is the sister of the female main character of the first book of the series.
She decides that she wants to find a guy to take her virginity. So she posts a Tik tok about it.
Carter comes in and helps her with her little problem.
I think this book does a really good job about educating people on what purity culture is because personally I had no idea that this is what it was like.
I really enjoyed this book and Carter and Vanessa were the best.

This is more a story for a different reader. I'm not attracted to the storyline, and I like my men more alpha asshole who don't grovel -- even when they’re wrong. In this story, I couldn't get behind the grovel because the hero didn't really do anything egregious. If anything the heroine over reacted because of innocence and lack of exposure to the wrongs of the real world. In truth, I didn't care for her. "I'm giving up my virginity as I renounce the purity culture" (paraphrased). Too goody goody with a mix of self-righteousness. So what Carter lied about his true intentions? He treated her like a queen the entire story. He sexed her in adoration.

This is mostly a case of conflict with topic, storyline, and pace.

One of the most cringe books I've read. The characters seemed very shallow and I had to force myself to continue to read.

This book had so much potential, truly sad.. it had this old school college book vibes like Beautiful Disaster, nerd and off campus series. It started off so damn well.

But then some snippets of weird things came in. Like use of OH GOD for 106 times, not only from h but also H. Sometimes H talked the same way as h (same use of phrases like Jesus,oh god etc)

I felt there was way too many tropes and other things added. It was chaotic. For example H had sex with men too. I was like what? Not that I am against it but it just felt coming from left field. Then him being manwhore, unable to love, tortured hero and player.

I felt this book was so politically correct in the aspect of talking about ones trauma. Like H had some huge trauma that he manipulated situations and lied to get what he wanted. We all lie and manipulate, who says they don’t are delusional. It’s about how you use those - nefariously or good in mind. And H was using it in good way, like getting h. I felt he was psychoanalysed to death. He became some crying sappy sack of shit for me.

I just cannot read books where H becomes sappy, beta man who is fine that the girl he loves dates other men ( she implied What if.. after leaving him). I know people are different and reactions, values and morals varies in culture, countries and in people general but I personally want to read about man who says I can give you time but we will end up together and I will beat up any man who you plan to date.

🔸no cheating
🔸no ow drama/ slight om drama
🔸H is manwhore
🔸h is virgin
🔸 lot of jesus and religion
🔸week long separation
🔸 experimental kinks

I looked past the manwhore/virgin combo bc the author was saying what a huge grovel it had.....there was literally no grovel. Half the book the heroine is already aware he is manipulative anyways. It just had no tension or stakes. She forgave the one infraction he did that she didn't know about almost immediately. If this was an epic grovel than romance books are dead to me 😂

I am giving 2 stars bc the heroine on her own was interesting if she hadn't been coupled with such a cliche hero. I liked her practicality and appraoch to dealing with her issues. I think it might have worked better for me if she had already experienced sex with multiple people like she wanted too in order to rid herself of the shame she was raised in rather than finding some cliche manwhore hero with mommy issues that magically made that disappear 🙄 I just kind of hated nothing was special between them on an intimate level. He had done every single thing under the sun sexually with men and women!! I like it better when heroines with sexual issues are with heros where a first can happen between them, makes it more special and fun. I also think this story would have benefitted from only being in her POV. His POV dragged the story down bc he just wasn't interesting at all.

we as a community need to stop praising books for their tropes or the potential promised in their concepts and take a fat hard look at the writing instead — which, in this particular one: not Good. this was so bad it wouldn’t even occur to me to wipe my ass with this book. it’d be offensive to my shit.

Very indecisive between ⭐️⭐️ and ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Like it was a good book and all, but this purity culture theme is dragging on
I would have liked some balance and maybe more focus on the actual couple rather than getting away from purity culture
But nevertheless I love these purity culture books, because they make one realize how much something like that can affect your personal perception of shame

Also with this one I felt like it was VERY unrealistic that she would just so openly talk about wanting to lose her virginity on the internet…
Okay she‘s tik tok famous I get it, but I could not relate to her at all. Like why would you tell the whole world about your sexual experiences (especially being raised in shame) and announce that you‘re up to get fucked by anyone who wants (well not anyone, but yk)

Also this book totally gives a negative connotation to those who are still virgins at 30…
Like it‘s not an issue

„Literally. Now you just have to prepare yourself for all the harassment you’re going to get from frat guys.”
I shrug. “I can handle it.“

Surprisingly I would prob read it again haha
Just for the entertaining factor

This was a new author to me and I received this as an Arc. I went in blind (as I do with most books) The one line on the cover drew me in. ‘Shes a sinner and im going to prove it’.

This story follows Vanessa, that grew up in a purity culture. This is the second book in the series and I havent read the first so would def say this can be read as a standalone. She wants rid of her virginity and isnt aftaid to admit it. She has a huge following on tiktok and announces that she has a deadline to ‘do it’. Vanessa was a strong fmc, always spoke her mind. She was realistic, honest. She understood body language and how othters worked and their intentions.
Carter. The campus bad boy. That has A LOT of experience in the bedroom. He had a past that he didnt share easily. He was kinda what made this a slow burn for me. He was a trust fund kid, but actually has the biggest heart. Regardless of his reputation. He is the definition of a golden retriever.
He falls first and hard. He watches her online and admires her from afar but when he actually meets her. Its as if the earth shifts. He has these feelings from nowhere that he doesn’t recognise and doesn’t know how to deal with them.

We get lots of ‘youre mine’, desire, cravings, lust.. the sexual chemistry was 👌🏼 were also given a lot of praise kink and a little daddy too 😜
The character development throughout this was amazing to read. Both separately and together. They heal each other. They were so good together.

I did think this was going to be darker than it was. Im not disappointed though because it opened my eyes a lot. I wasnt aware of any kind of purity culture - obv I know about saving yourself but this dives deeper into this. And the emotions it causes both towards others and themselves. At times I forgot about their age, but honestly some parts it was very obvious. I enjoyed it, quite a bit and would def look at other books by Skylar Mason.

A very enjoyable read.
Guiltily I haven't read the first book Purity but after reading this book I think I may need to go back and read that one too.
I followed the story with no problem even though I hadn't read Purity.
Vanessa and Carter are Opposites.
Vanessa has been brought up within a strict family, were you are taught to feel shame towards sex and your body. Can you imagine how Vanessa must have felt as a young woman still trying to find herself, so she posts her thoughts and feelings on her Tiktok channel.
Carter is totally different he is a man whore and has no problem with sex,and having any woman he wants, his family is religious but he is rebelling against it all.
What starts out as a bet and an act of revenge soon becomes infatuation,as Vanessa wants to lose her virginity and Carter is more than happy to pop that cherry urged on by a bet.
This is a really intriguing story both Vanessa and Carter are dealing with family trauma and problems they just deal with it in different ways.
Skyler Mason has written a story that shows just how your upbringing and parents influence can effect your life.
Shame is a fantastic read and Sklyer Mason's writing had me turning those pages,it gave me an insight into purity culture....and Vanessa and Carter are perfect for one another, they never expected to feel for eachother the way they did.
Great read.

Congratulations to Skylar mason for earning a five star from me this year! I didn't dnf, didn't cringe and didn't ate this book 😂😂

This is the sister from the book in purity. She's trying to break away from The church's purity culture aka the church wanting wo!Enzo to stay chaste and virginal til marriage, not have sexual thoughts, etc.

She pulls a Britney and has taktok videos telling people about her experiences and then announces that she's going to dispose of this little hymen in 30 days.

She had a panic attack with another boy and never finished iykwim har har but he went around telling people that she was LYING! Dun dun dun! H hears this and thinks she's lying about still being a v until she decides he'll be her first!!!! Ahhhhhhhh!!!!

And then they on the beach getting sand up their butthole and other places but he slips his eggplant in and she's like OOP! And he's like OOPY-OOP! That be a hymen!

And then she's all like "I gotta not be attached to the first person who takes my v" and he's all growly like "you mine. You not fuggin anyone else!"

Anyhoo. Loved it! 😂😂

Carter and Vanessa’s whirlwind love story was filled with so much emotional turmoil, angst, drama and heartache that it had me on the edge of my seat, biting my nails from all of the anxiety inducing moments and sobbing into my pillow continually throughout. I loved the realness of their relationship and the sweet moments they shared. Vanessa did have me giggling with her innocent honesty and insightful words and they way that she could bring Carter to his knees without even realizing it. Even if these two were complete opposites, there is just something about them that worked.

I absolutely loved this story. It was relatable, realistic, funny and highly entertaining from beginning to end. I am now very intrigued about the next story coming!

The second of its series, this book was just as amazing as her first book, Purity. It follows the younger sister, Vanessa, who has now grown up and is in the process of finding herself post-purity culture. I relate to this in so many ways, including the fact that purity culture has, in a lot of ways, tainted the way I look at my body and the fact that Vanessa struggles with this sense of shame over her body and her desires is how I feel about myself at times.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It had just the right amount of spice, and I love how it included so many good and real aspects of just being human, learning and growing into yourself. I also love how realistic it is with no holding back on attitudes, feelings or interactions.

This book was absolutely excellent! Once again, Skyler Mason tackles the concepts, realities, and expectations of purity culture in a unique and unexpected way. This story is fast-paced and intriguing with characters that are lively and engaging. It tells the story of Vanessa and Carter who have great banter and exchanges. The story is spicy at times but also examines the realities of the effects of Purity Culture and pressure that puts shame and guilt around sex and the relationship women have to their body. This is a terrific novel with something to say and it's written in a way that makes you want to listen.
I received this as an ARC from the author but all opinions are my own.

I received this book as an ARC. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, much more than I expected to.

Vanessa is a college student raised in “purity culture” and deals with shame related to her body and sex. Carter is a man-wh0re and wants to punish his religious family.

While I couldn’t relate to Vanessa’s struggle of shame related to her body and sex, I think we can all relate to the feeling shame. We also get to see Carter’s struggles and how his passed shaped him into the person he is.

I couldn’t put the book down. I loved Vanessa and Carter’s story. Their chemistry was good and their banter was funny. Not to mention The lengths he would go for her attention once he got a taste of her. For the spice it was good. Carter had a way With words (daddy 😉). But it’s a 2.5 in spice for me was a 2.5 but still good. I definitely recommend this especially if you know anything about purity culture. check triggers though. 18.+
