Jasper Westbrook. Code name: Swoon Machine.
My best friend's older brother.
Melter of ovaries. Destroyer of panties.
And suddenly...a single dad.

Guys like Jasper—I bet you know the type? The chiseled arms. The wavy hair. The melt-your-brain-cells smile.
Good thing I'm a smart girl—Honey Hill's former child prodigy, to be precise—I should know better than to fall for this playboy's charm.

Here's the thing, though. The man is an expert at solving my problems. And he always knows how to make me laugh. And those hands...Those big, rough mechanic hands...

Oh, damn. What's that I just said about resisting his charm? Never mind.

Right as our clothes are about to go flying, Jasper's playboy ways catch up to him. And his life goes to hell in a picnic basket.

Welp. Should have seen that coming.

What I didn't expect was that Jasper would turn to me for help. And that I would accept.
And I definitely didn't expect to discover the 'paternal side' he's had hidden all along.

When he rocks his sweet baby girl to sleep in those big, tattooed arms, 'come to daddy' takes on a whole new meaning.
Now, I just want to crawl between his sheets and keep him up past his bed time...if you know what I mean.

But we both know we shouldn't cross that line. Because Jasper is the sudden single dad. And I'm the reluctant nanny. There's way too much at stake.

Yet, each stolen kiss ignites a wildfire. And each whispered confession leaves me craving his heart.

Fine. I should know better. But I just want to tame this wild one. Once and for all.

The Wild One is a steamy, laugh-out-loud, best friend's brother, single dad and nanny small town romance. It is set in small town Iowa and is book two in the Wild Westbrooks series.

Ok, so I think my weakness is single dads. Watching Jasper change his playboy ways not only for Emma, but most of all for his daughter, was so satisfying. I think manwhore turned single dad might be one of my favorite tropes haha!

I loved how Jasper and Emma didn't have a clue about babies and still tried to figure out how to care for one. Usually in the "drop a baby with daddy" scenario he calls his best friend who's a natural with children. Not this time! Emma is just as clueless as Jasper. It was fun watching them bond and fall in love while taking care of the baby. Sparkle. Sparkle is the baby's name. Sparkle 🤣

When Jasper got a wake-up call that Sparkle might not be his and he rushed home to get the paternity results, my heart burst. His breakdown when he tore open the envelope to see he was indeed her father broke me. I had tears in my eyes.

They form a cute little family and voila, instant happiness. Ha! Yeah right. With his meddling family and her detached parents, it's a long road because they are both too insecure. Jasper was so scared of standing in Emma's way that he didn't realize he was standing in his own way.

Jasper's family kind of did him a disservice when they just assumed he'd keep on living his playboy lifestyle. I felt kind of bad for him that they took his eagerness and willingness to change or granted. They cleaned up their opinions real quick when he started proving himself. It warmed my heart that they were so supportive of him.

Jasper and Emma together were so sweet. You could tell from the beginning they had a thing for each other (and if you read the previous book you'd really know lol). Watching Jasper realize that he was good enough for Emma was perfect. When he realized he deserved her and he deserved to be happy, it made me happy.

I think Jasper might go in my Book Boyfriend Hall of Fame.

One thing I will say about the Westbrooks: they are a real family. They laugh, they joke, they give each other shit, they tell it like it is and sometimes they aren't nice to each other. But, in the end, they'd die for each other. I can't wait to read the rest of their stories!

Lots of sexy times, so 18+.

I finished reading this because I’m not a quitter but man, was it hard. The whole “we can’t date because we’re basically like family” dragggeeeeddddd on. Miscommunication trope that was not for me. Also. Sparkle? Yikes.

Jasper is the wild one of the Westbrooks, and Emma is the good girl. Emma is best friends with Jasper’s sister and off limits. Jasper and Emma are friends and she helps him plan a family dinner. Then when Jasper gets a big surprise the first person he calls for help is Emma. They keep getting closer and closer. Can their insecurities keep them apart ? Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing Book. I love these characters and world. The Easter eggs are all over the place love them.

Entertaining but…

Maybe it’s just me and I’m being hypercritical lately, but didn’t really enjoy this like I thought I would. This was a nice story and there were some good lines but overall the dialogue was awful. It felt a little robotic and obvious - not genuine conversations you’d have everyday. And I felt like every detail was spelled out…if you’re reading for fun, I’m sure you know how to use context clues.

I like these two, they’re cute. And I liked their little HEA. The best friend’s brother thing is also cute. But the insta-dad (and really insta-mom figure) thing wasn’t for me. I mean I liked the book, but I was like “what year was this written???” “How old is this author???” Because there are so many low key questionable parenting practices. 😂

Like I get it: the kid was dropped on your doorstep, you’re not prepared. But you have been obsessively checking Google and you don't know that you shouldn't get the 20+ year old crib from your mom's attic???? Or no, an 8 month old does not need juice boxes. Why are you introducing so many new foods at once, no wonder she’s a poopy mess?!!!! I'm so stressed for that baby! lol

It took him so long to do the paternity test, I was horrified at every person he introduced her to as his daughter and I just kept waiting for the backfire and it not even be his damn kid lol I mean I guess luckily that didn’t happen.

Don’t get me started on the name. ✨

And when she calls Emma mamama??? 🙄 Like babies don’t know what a mom is, they don’t know ohh this woman is in my life so she must be my mama. The whole she randomly calls Emma Ma Ma made me eye roll.

The third act break up was very annoying. Blah blah want to do what’s best for her…. Fine but maybe do it without being a dick. And Emma just immediately forgave him. 🙄

Ah well. All’s well that ends well lol

But the bonus epilogue…cute but still made me roll my eyes. You didn’t elope, you had a small wedding, your friends and family are there lol

I don’t care to rush into Harry’s story. But I might so I can get to Alana and Davis faster.

overall, this book was good. the relationship was cute, but it got boring. it felt very predictable. which i guess because i read so much it’s hard not to be disappointed when things are predictable.

jasper’s whole playboy MO was almost too self-deprecating. at some points, i felt like his family actually hated him. they shit on him for no reason and doubted him too much. emma was the only person who believed in him. no, i take that back. his mom seemed to understand him too, but she was barely in the story. nicky was *so* annoying until about 60% through the book. she had her bffs back and didn’t stick up for her brother at all. jasper’s entire family was ready to throw him under the bus at any given moment and i didn’t like it.

i absolutely loved how emma supported him. she never doubted his abilities as a father. she stood up for him, and defended his honor when nobody else would. i also loved how jasper encouraged emma to do what she wanted. the way he helped her focus on what she wanted for herself and not what her parents wanted their child to be, *swoon*. they were each other’s support system!!

now the baby… freakin adorable!!! i mean, besides all the shitting she did. literally. the family dynamic was well written, and i’m a sucker for a family man. i loved how jasper got a little bit of closure with his dad at the end too, it was very full circle.

overall, i enjoyed it. will i remember it in two weeks? probably not, but it was a good story nevertheless.

Smart funny and wildly appealing

I loved, loved Emma and Jasper’s instant single dad, sister’s best friend, nanny romance. This is a heartwarming, hilarious and steamy romance full of lovable relatable characters that give you all the feels - laughing, crying, swooning, cringing, teeth gritting, and cheering. Emma and Jasper are bruised but not broken people and as they fall in love, they lovingly share their truths and help each other heal and grow. Jasper is one of five Westbrook siblings. He has a playboy reputation and owns an auto repair shop. Emma is Jasper’s sister’s best friend. She works at a children’s clothing boutique after dropping out of college recently. They have been fighting their attraction to each other and just as Jasper’s ready to suggest dating, a crazy ex drops off a baby that she says is his. The journey to Emma and Jasper’s HEA is a bit of a roller coaster ride. Before either one can even voice their desire for a relationship, they need to deal with some of the past baggage that is keeping them from a happy life. And that’s just the beginning. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline delivered using sweet moments, steamy scenes, chuckles, supportive friends, messy families, painful pasts, and all the heart squeezing love. I am excited to read about the next Westbrook sibling.

Honestly Jasper was really unlikeable at first like the fact that he never took anything seriously and never showed up for his grandma to help at the bakery when she so clearly needed the help was so lame. But he really stepped it up and I think he became a very likeable character. I’ve really liked these first two books I think they have a super realistic standard and I appreciate that. I think you can relate to a lot of the issues they’re going through as a couple. I don’t love how they follow the same kind of timeline and have third act breakups because it takes so long for them to get together the third act break up is kinda annoying to me. Also I don’t love how the issues they’ve had in both books so far were because of each bothers preconceived ideas about their parents relationship I hope that isn’t the case for the rest of the books cause I’m definitely going to finish the series. Emma and Jasper had such a cute dynamic and I really really really loved them together!! Emma’s relationship with Sparkle was super interesting too I like how she wasn’t someone who was super desperate to be a mom and have kids so she stepped up to help with Sparkle she knew nothing about kids but just wanted to help out Jasper and I thought that was a refreshing take on the “nanny and single dad” trope.

What can I sayJasper Westbrook has always been the brother who partied his way through adulthood. He had no intention to settle down didn't believe in "until death do we part". What or who could capture his heart and make him feel what his brothers could feel after his father left his mom when they were young. Is there ever a true love story out there?

Can someone off limits capture a heart that is closed off?

Emma happens to be best friend with Jasper's sister Nicky. She spent a lot of time in the Westbrook home around all her brothers. She happened to be celebrating another friends engagement at the club with the Westbrooks when Jasper the parting brother decided to stay with the women left behind. Emma was having a fun night dancing away and Jasper and the girls were plenty drunk so they all went home together. She runs into Jasper the next morning on her way to work and he jumps to help her when her car don't start.

What will Emma do with her feelings? Can she ever act on them with all the warnings going off in her head?

This story has a lot of ups and downs. There is also some laughable moments. If your not familiar with the Westbrook men I would recommend you to get started.
See what happens between Jasper and Emma?

Happy reading everyone!!!

take a trip to the wild side

Jasper Westbrook is a playboy, hotter than win and her best friend brother. Emma knows she should stay away but she can resist a trip to the wild side.

I’m in love with these Westbrook boys. First Cash and now Jasper. The author is able to create diverse characters who you can’t help falling in love with. Watching how Jasper grows from party playboy to doting dad in the very beginning of the story had me swooning. And Emma was right there with me. She loves so openly and is always there for Jasper. Their love story gave me all the feels.

The world this author has created is in-depth and well rounded. We get to see characters from the previous book and little glimpses into the other brothers whose books will be coming. It’s going to be a hard wait for the next book.

Loved it

Jasper is the town playboy while Emma is his sister's shy BFF. After his brother is engaged, Jasper and Emma start talking more and more. Jasper can't stop thinking about Emma but knows he can't act on his feelings. When he finally decides to act on them, a bombshell is dropped in his lap. After that, they start spending more time together as Emma helps Jasper navigate through the sudden change in his lifestyle. Jasper didn't know how to handle his changing feelings so he kept going from hot and cold with her. When something major ended up happening, he nearly ends up losing her for good. Harry had me cracking up and when Jasper found out his daughter's name, I couldn't stop laughing. Looking forward to reading more books by this author.

A delightful romance must read!

An entertaining and swoon worthy best friends brother romance read. Jasper Westbrook may be considered the wild one among his siblings, but when his life is turned upside down he proves that he can be dependable. Emma finds herself along for the ride but when their chemistry rises and cannot be denied they find an unexpected romance that will thrill your heart. I love the small town feel with family closeness and a romance worth fighting for in this newest addition that doesn’t disappoint. This was a delightful read to the series and I can’t wait for more of the Westbrook family.

The Wild One is Jasper Westbrooks story and a really fantastic one. This book had such a wonderful sense of family and the way everyone rallies around and supports one another is truly amazing. Especially Grandma Westbrook. What a force she is.
Needless to say this book has it all. Great characters, wonderful friends and the chemistry between Jasper and Emma is sizzling.
Emma is best friends with Jaspers sister, so there is this underlying off limits part, however when a baby is dropped off with Jasper, needless to say Emma jumps at the chance to help this sudden single dad cope and oh boy are they in for a treat! Lol
I really enjoyed the banter, the feels and emotions from the characters and I truly cannot wait for more of the series to come!

Jasper & Emma

Jasper has always been the party guy, the one who doesn't take life seriously and is not into serious relationships. Until the day an ex hookup drops an 8 month old baby girl into his life and takes off.

Emma is not really one for partying, she is more of a good girl. She has known Jasper for years being his sisters best friend. She is the person he calls first when his daughter, Sparkle is dropped into his life.

Their story shows their developing feelings for one another but eventually has the break up and hurt feelings. Until Jasper realizes that he shouldn't be afraid of his feelings for Emma.

I’m a sucker for a sexy single daddy!

I loved Jasper and Emma’s book! Book two in the Wild Westbrooks series, The Wild One, is such a sweet, sexy story.

From playboy commitment-phobe to a sudden and wonderful daddy, Jasper falls for the love of his life, Emma, his mermaid… this book can’t get much better. She finds her destiny as a mother and a romance writer. That works for me.

My favourite books don’t need billionaires… when you’re rich in love, you’ve got what money can’t buy.

The Wild Westbrook’s series is absolutely topnotch and I’m excited to read book three. Cassie-Ann L. Miller does it again with humour, kindness, and grace.

"I love existing. Existing's the best. 'Cause I get to exist with you."

SWOON!

Jasper, the playboy and Emma, the quiet, sexy, redheaded, best friend of Nicky, Jasper's sister. OFF LIMITS!! Until Jasper gets thrown for a life loop and desperately needs help. He calls Emma with a hurried "I NEED YOU NOW" and yeah, Emma gets the wrong idea.

Gah, these two drove me nuts. I wanted to throat punch Jasper so many times. But, boy, did this one incident make him grow up overnight. And his parents sure did do a number on his feelings about love.

This book was sooooo good. Binge city baby!

Jasper Westbrook the family playboy, all around ladies man is just now seeing his sister's BFF Emma and it leaves him with a funny feeling. One day, his past life comes ringing and his life is forever changed. The wild one must become the responsible one! Emma is not meeting her parents standards and is struggling with her life's purpose when Jasper asks for her help. The story of these two broken people makes their journey so much more than what you expect. Sweet, entertaining, sensuous attraction and a sense of longuing that enthralls you in their world. I volunteered to review this story.

This one ranks between a 3 and a 3.5 -- the romance plot was too much like the first one but the circumstances were different. I enjoyed it.

The second book in Cassie-Ann L. Miller’s The Wild Westbrooks was a good story although I felt like the theme from the first book ran through this one; a heroine with low self esteem/self worth and a hero who is damaged from his parent’s divorce feeling he isn’t good enough for the heroine. Been there done that in the last book, but there was a great twist to this book that kept made it very entertaining.

I’m absolutely loving this series. Jasper and Emma were forced to be off limits because she’s best friends with his little sister, but the spark between them is undeniable. Then throw in a surprise baby in a picnic basket, and Jasper is ringing for help. The way these two love the each other, the way they break down the others insecurities, the way they build each other up, it’s what everyone wants in a partner. I genuinely loved this book, and can’t wait to see more of these two in the coming books.

wow

Wow, just wow! Love, love, love, Jasper, Emma, and sparkle! Jasper had a big, beautiful family with unconditional love. Emma had the opposite. As his sister‘s best friend, she was off-limits, even though he was attracted to her all along. When sparkle comes into the picture, he realizes how much he loves Emma and needs her. Love the way he encourages her to be her true self. The first thing I would’ve done when obtaining custody of a sparkle would be to change her name. It sounds like a pole dancer or a hooker. Can’t wait to see what happens next in the series

I honestly didn’t want to read this one. I started a series and thought the first book, The Wild Side was cute. I really wanted to find out what happens with the MMC’s brother & his ex-wife. But that is the 4th book and I hate jumping a series. I dove in and fell in love with Jasper and Emma.

So while I still want to know about the oldest brother, I’m off to read the 3rd book and after being surprised at how much I adored this one, I’m looking forward to seeing what baby brother will get up to.

Emma & Jasper Find Love

Jasper has just discovered that sweet Emma, his sister's BF, is more to him than just his sister's friend when his world spins out of control. A one night stand drops off Sparkle, an 8 month old baby girl. His daughter.

Emma steps up and helps him get used to fatherhood. They fall in love. The sexy times are standard fare. The story doesn't break new ground but it's a nice romance and worth the read.

Book 2 in a good family series

This was a quick and fun afternoon read. Great family, the Westbrooks.
Jasper is the wild playboy brother who doesn’t believe in love. Or at least, that love can last.
Emma is a sweet and shy best friend of Jasper’s sister. She believes in love. But not in herself.
Many events and circumstances in the book. Jasper runs hot and cold. That gets annoying.
But the HEA is there, finally.
Harry’s book should be interesting next.

Beloved tropes with a dash of believability

This was a fun twist on the playboy falling in love, because she didn't actually change him--he was making the decisions before he realized it. The changes that he was making is what actually admitted her into his life, romantically. That feels more real and varies the cliche giving all the tropes you expect, granting escape from stress and life, but deviation permitting a greater authenticity to the characters actual love story.

Goor writing…BUT

Jasper worked my nerves. He’s almost 30, party every day in his brother’s house, don’t show up for his responsibilities, and sleep with a different woman every night. Then he has the nerve to be offended that his family saw his a irresponsible. That’s because you are.

All he did was complain the whole time about people not seeing him for who he really was but he never showed any difference.

The Wild One

The Westbrook family is full of fun, love and support. Jasper has met his match in Emma but too afraid to admit what she really is in his life, He has his daughter to care for and Emma to help him. He realizes what his life needs and has to figure out how to mend fences. A sweet HOA.

surprisingly good

I started reading this book for laughs and it began funny and silly, but it examines friendships and families and shows who’s dependable when times get rough. The author allowed both Jasper and Emma to find themselves and learn to be who they truly are. Great story.
