This book is surprisingly helpful! It is a diet that is easy to live with and very tasty. She also does a good job of explaining why it works. I am convinced that it is better than the Atkin's Diet. It is very good for those tendencies to gain weight as we get older. It is very similar to the South Beach Diet.

What can I say, I love Suzanne Somers' approach to eating and vitality. I read this shortly after having my first child. She really helped me understand the importance of balancing carbs, fats and proteins, as well as helped me understand the difference between "good carbs" and "bad carbs". I was also reading a book on French Women and their lifestyles at the same time as this book, the comparisons were interesting - and also had similar approaches. Basically, food is your friend. Good, fresh, delicious, natural food. Fat is also your friend. Who knew!

This book is a typical diet book with the first half explaining the health benefits of the diet and the second half giving recipes to follow. I am not looking for a diet book, just looking to learn more about healthy food.

I grew up in the eighties where all the diets told you to eat low fats and high carbs. Now the health experts have changed that way of thinking. We should be consuming more real fats and protein, and less carbs. Suzanne goes into detail into why this new way of eating will help you shed the pounds. She also shares how certain food combinations are better. One combination is to have a meal with proteins and fats, no carbs.

I enjoyed this book. I got a lot of health tips from it that I will be incorporating into my diet.
