A Fallen Angels book.

Being an aspiring witch is daunting business…

When Brianna Claxton accidentally summons a demon, she is forced to face her mistake head-on. That becomes problematic when her mistake comes in the form of a hot, ancient demon named Asmodeus who refuses to go back to the hell from which she summoned him.

Thoughts of revenge have kept him sane…

Asmodeus is leader of the Rebel Watchers, angels who fell from grace out of lust for human women. He had been subjected to the Abyss, tortured in a virtual Hell in Heaven, until the careless mistake of a human witch released him from the fires. Now faced with temptations of the flesh by the sexy witch who summoned him, he tries convincing himself that embarking on a relationship with Brianna would be a mistake of biblical proportions.

Two lives hang in the balance…

Just when things start heating up, four Death Angels give her a mission: Use her powers to kill him…or face the Abyss herself. Gaining his trust is the key—except the closer she gets, the more he reveals the man he is, not the demon she thought him to be.

This title contains graphic language, graphic sex, and demons who give a whole new meaning to the old adage sinfully hot.

Dawn McClure writes contemporary, small town romance set in South Dakota. Having lived in Illinois, California, Italy, North Carolina, Florida, Colorado and Michigan, Dawn can safely say her favorite place to live has been South Dakota. The weather is wild and so is the land. The people are great - and they're a little wild too. The town she currently lives in is home to a scant three hundred people, which was what prompted her to write small town romance. Having made the move back in 2009, small town living took some getting used to, but there's just something about a quiet country evening you can't get anywhere else.

I think a more accurate assesment for me would be 3.5 Stars but I have given it 4 stars as I did very much enjoy reading this book.

Asmodeus is a fallen angel (a demon) who fell in the second angelic revolt, and has spent a vast amount of his immortal life being punished for this in The Abyss, which is basically heavens torture chamber. That is until Brianna, a witch, accidently summons him from his torment. From there their relationship develops, he feels obliged at first to protect her from the angels wrath for setting her free, but becomes attracted to and starts caring for her. However, Brianna finds herself stuck between wanting to help the man/demon she is growing to love or being sent to The Abyss herself if she doesn't find a way to kill him.

I very much enoyed reading this book, it had the basic elements of a story I enjoy, angsty, tortured hero with a painful past, and a heavenly body, a strong heroine discovering her powers and a bit of action thrown in as well. It also starts building up an interesting world of angels, demons and vampires where the good guys are not who you expect them to be.

The romance between the two main characters, Asmodeus and Brianna, however I didn't find all that convincing. For some reason it just didn't click with me. I liked each character indivdually and they did make a good couple but I think for me some chemistry was missing there. Having said that the sex scenes were good in this book, they were hot, but they happened at the right time and this was more about them falling in love, rather then them falling into bed.

What I liked most though was the idea behind the books, the concept of angels, demons and vampires and how they all fit together. So although the writing wasn't as good as other PNR I still enjoyed it and will be seeking out Dawn McClure's other books.

Would recommend to readers who like, tortured heroes, angels and demons, painful past, witches and magic and vampires in their books.

A must read for urban-fantasy and paranormal romance fans!

There's not much I can say that won't spoil things (outside of what's already mentioned in the synopsis), but I have to say Dawn McClure is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I can honestly say that just based on her two books I've read (Azazel and Asmodeus), she's ranking right up there with J.R. Ward and Nalini Singh for me, and that's a high compliment, trust me.

Didn't expect much from this book and unsurprisingly didn't get much in return.

It was too stereotypical for my taste, the whole prospect of falling in love with a demon a novice witch summoned seemed too…bland. However this book did have some interesting details on its own which somehow kept me hooked and allowed me to get through the book without flipping it shut.

Asmodeus as much as an asshole he tended to act, had a painful past which made him kill off his kids before they turned into something beyond their childlike selves acted as. This in turn made him restrained into the Abyss for even having kids in the first place coupled with the pain of killing his very own blood made him hellbent for revenge.

Other than a mildly steamy sex scene…there isn't really much this book had to offer.

With Ms. McClure's typical fast-paced, trash-talking zeal I was immediately swept into the world of vampire assasins and fallen angels. But be warned, this book will make you cry. There's tortured hero and then there's Asmodeus. I felt so bad for everything he was put through by then end that I just wanted to give him a huge hug... at least. ; ) Fabulous book!

I felt this one was just OK. I didn't feel the chemistry between Asmodeus and Brianna as I did with the first in the series (Azazel). In my opinion, the protagonist was lacking a personality...she wasn't one of my favorite characters. Asmodeus is a tortured hero who accidentally gets a chance at love. The world building is great and I enjoyed demons, angels, vampires and witches all co-existing with each other. It was good but I think the author could have developed the story line better.

This book was okay. Some of the scenes were too confusing for me to follow while others were lacking in detail. The chemistry between the main characters was on hot passion, off luke warm. However, the world building of the many species was wonderful. I rated it 3/5

good, not as good as the first (imho, yadda) but definitely provided more insight into this whole world of fallen angels of different levels, etc.

He is one red-hot devil, and she is in big trouble. But are the demons and devils truly evil?
