USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Tracy Lorraine brings you a new dark mafia, high school bully romance story set in the Knight's Ridge Empire world.
The night we met, she was just another one-night stand.
We were never meant to see each other again, and my best friend certainly wasn’t supposed to go and fall in love with her best friend.
Collateral damage… she’s already broken my biggest rule when we hooked up for a second, third, fourth, and maybe a few more times.
She’s everywhere I turn. I can’t escape her or the things she makes me feel.
Thanks to my best friend wanting to do anything to make his girl happy, she’s the newest teacher at Knight’s Ridge College.
If I needed to stay away before, now I have no choice. Not only is she an obsession I don’t need… she’s forbidden.
But I’ve never been as good at following the rules, so much as breaking them. I need to be careful before she gets too close to break me.
The consuming darkness inside threatens to take over following my father’s death, and I find myself craving her light even more than ever.
The only problem is, I don’t want her to rescue me. I want to drag her down… corrupt her.
We’re a match made in hell that first night we met, so why stop now when playing with fire is so much fun.
Tracy Lorraine is a M/F and M/M contemporary romance author. Tracy has just turned thirty and lives in a cute Cotswold village in England with her husband, baby girl and lovable but slightly crazy dog. Having always been a bookaholic with her head stuck in her Kindle Tracy decided to try her hand at a story idea she dreamt up and hasn’t looked back since.
Tropes: dark mafia romance, forbidden romance, teacher/student, bully
When they met, it was your regular one-night stand. Neither expected to see each other again. Then his best friend, Toby, fell for her best friend, Jodie. Nico Cirillo and Brianna Andrews lived paralleled lifestyles but for different reasons. Nico lost his father and was slowly drowning in booze, women and darkness. Bri had big plans and didn't have time for relationships. That didn't stop her from being a party girl. With their social circles begin getting more involved, a one-night stand turns to more. When Toby helps get her a job as a student teacher at Knight's Ridge College, Nico realizes he needs to keep his distance because anything between them is forbidden. But he's always been better at breaking rules instead of following them. As darkness consumes him more and more, he needs her light more than ever. The catch? He doesn't want her to save him. More enjoyment will be had by corrupting her as playing with fire is too much fun.
Tracy always delivers! Page-turner ✔️, edge of your seat angst ✔️, nail-biting sexual tension ✔️ and the hottest of chemistry ✔️. This addictive and engaging plot held my attention until another doozy of a cliffhanger. So glad I can dive into the next book now. I highly recommend this read. This is my honest opinion, freely given.
This series has me in a chokehold like no other! I’m obsessed with this world! I’ve been dying for Nico’s story and Tracy didn’t disappoint ! Nico and his siren story is full of angst passion and twists and turns their chemistry is explosive and of course it ends on a shocking cliffhanger! This one was so good I loved seeing all the couples I love how close they all are and how accepting the women are of each other this was another epic story in this series!
Brianna is Jodie's cousin. Her mother was very young when she had her. Brianna's grandparents wanted to put her up for adoption, but her mother ran with her, landing up at a shelter for young mothers and then from one crappy council estate to the next, finding solace in libraries, losing herself in books, then to find her mother overdosed, her auntie, Jodie's mother, takes her in without any hesitation. Brianna's care free, loves to party, doesn't do relationships, hook ups are better. She's a student teacher. Wanting to make a difference in kids lives. Since Jodie and Toby got together, Brianna has spent time with the Cirillo family members, loving how passionate and fierce the girls are, and their guys in how they watch, look and love their girls. They'd all do anything for one another, they have each other's backs. She and Nico have hooked up. It was only meant to have been one time. So why does it keep happening? Why can't she get him out her head?
Nico, party boy, now broken, and grieving the loss of his father, who was Underboss to the Cirillo Family. During the attack caused by the Italians. He's shutting down, shutting everyone out. Drinking and staying in his flat, rarely going out to school, which he needs to pass his exams, he's already failed, and is repeating his last year. He's next in line for Underboss. Can he pull himself together? Will he let his friends and family help him, or will he continue to shut them out? He does hook ups, relationships aren't for him. So why does his thoughts keep going to Brianna? Why does he keep going to her? Why is she under his skin?
When it comes to light that Brianna's new student teaching position is at Knights Ridge, Nico isn't playing fair. He's trying to rile her up. How far will he go?
During this they're still keeping tabs on the Italians. He doesn't trust Brianna. So he ups his game. He wants to know what secrets she's hiding. She knows she doesn't belong in their world. She's not mega rich like they are, she lives off 50p noodles. She's happy her cousin has found a guy that treats her right. She's scared she'll turn into her mother, seeking company in any guy that shows an interest. She's already now thinking herself as cheap.
That cliffhanger!! The push and pull between these two is toxic and hot. It's more hate and it's a way to get it out their systems. A few tears did escape, for what Brianna voiced to Nico about what she thought he thought about her.
Bri has overcome a difficult childhood and is focused on becoming a teacher so when it comes to men she keeps her interactions casual and isn’t looking for love or a relationship. She and Nico spent one night together but when their paths continue to cross because of the relationship their best friends share she starts to wonder if he is the one exception to the rule.
Nico has a difficult past of his own which has caused him to distance himself from those who care about him the most. He chooses to numb himself with women and alcohol but when it comes to Bri he realizes that one night is not enough despite the fact that she is the student teacher for one of the classes he is taking.
Despite the attraction between them and the feelings they have for each other Nico is determined to make things as difficult as he can for her while Bri needs to remain focused on her future. They take us on an angsty ride that leads up to a cliff hanger that leaves us wanting more of this couple and their story.
Holy…woah. Nico and his Siren, Brianna, are 𝔼𝕏ℙ𝕃𝕆𝕊𝕀𝕍𝔼! All of their interactions are over the top with witty banter, teasing, love / hate, need, etc.
Nico and Brianna are basically obsessed with each other but are so far into denial they “hate” each other. But as always more you say and pretend you don’t want someone, the more you can’t stay away. The chemistry Nico and Bri is 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲. Tracy has that push and pull between then down to a science. They go back forth between “F**k me like you love me” and “F**k you like you hate me” - and I 👏🏼 AM👏🏼 HERE👏🏼FOR👏🏼IT👏🏼.
Nico tries his hardest to stay away, or he thinks he does. So when he discovers that the very person he is trying to avoid is the newest student teacher at Knight’s Ridge it makes him unhinged.
Bri needs this job for her future, everything depends on this, she is barely making it as it is. Nico, however is blinded by his pain and is set on making Miss Andrew’s life at Knight’s Ridge as miserable as possible. When what he really needs the is light she brings to his darkness, but the cost has become too high for her.
These two are the definition of toxic but god are they hot together. Nico is off the rails crazy and not in the morally grey villain kind of way but more the absolutely psychotic irredeemable way. I get grief messes with you but this felt like a whole other level of cruel at times. Brianna doesn’t back down which only fuels him more. She has a fire in her or maybe their darkness calls to one another. Whatever it is, it is electric. Now for them to get out of their own ways.
Nico & Bri don't make sense on paper, and yet, the connection they have from the jump is no joke. He's battling some things that make him very much impossible, and he can't stay away from her, but he also pushes her away in ways that had me ready to throat punch him LOL! Bri has her own set of demons which has her questioning herself on a lot of things, and yet, she can't turn him away because the chemistry is explosive, the type that makes it impossible to deny as a matter of fact. Once again, Tracy Lorraine put me through the emotional ringer with her latest release, and I can't deny her absolute brilliance. The heat is top notch, the angst makes it hard to breathe at times, and there are twists as well to make me happy which all lead to a cliffhanger ending. Fear not though, the next book is out as well! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I was given an advance readers copy of this book and have decided to write a voluntary honest review. I am rating this book 4.5 stars. Brianna is truly perfect for Nico I truly believe he has met his match with her. It just that they are both in denial more Nico than her. But let's see what happens next.
So when I signed up to review Corrupt Knight, I don't think I realized it's part of a series. With that said, I think Corrupt Knight can be read as a standalone. You get enough back story that you know the important parts from previous books. BUT I'm going back and starting from the beginning!
Now, for the good parts of the book. Well they're not really appropriate for GoodReads 😉🥵 But really, the book is mostly tension & spice, but it also has great characters (I love Rhea) and a good plot line.
I'm sure I'll enjoy Corrupt Knight even more once I've read all of the previous books. If this sounds like a dark romance you're into, or if you're not sure and want a taste of what's in store, check out Corrupt Valentine's Knight (it's only 🌶🌶).
Corrupt Knight is book thirteen in the Knight Ridge Empire Series and book one in the Corrupt Trilogy.
I was on the edge of my seat for the entire story, I expected nothing less! Nico and Bri's story is addictive, erotic and sensual. I was mesmerised by the characters and so attracted to Nico. I wasn't impressed by him in previuos books at all, but here... Yumm! He's tortured, enigmatic and so freaking possessive! Bri's a nice girl, loyal to the core. And she does not back down, especially not to him. What a challenge, ha?!
I'm desperate to read the second book, I still haven't had my fill of these two.
Nico - Nico - Nico I expected his book to start off dark because of the state he’s been in with all that’s happened but with him being so broken also that’s what gutted me.
With Nico an the spiral that he’s on the only thing that can bring him any light these days is his Siren, only problem is he wants to punish her more than love her. Yet when they collide they are like magnets.
Bri just wants to finish her final semester at university and become a teacher. Yet getting placed at Knights Ridge wasn’t exactly what she expected her final project to be. She knew she could only hide for so long before Nico found out and made her life difficult an boy did he.
The push pull between these two is amazing and I loved that she brings out a different side in him. We shall see how this relationship grows and rises or will it burst into flames.
FINALLY we‘re getting Nico and Bri‘s story. Nico and Bri have been on my mind since we got Callie‘s story and true to Tracy fashion she delivered.
It did sadly take me a while to get into the story but once I was in, it didn‘t let me go. I needed to know what happens to these two!
Obviously this story couldn‘t be a Tracy Lorraine story without a cliffhanger that will leave you wanting! But fear not! Book two is right there for the taking too!!
Just when I think I’ve had a favorite couple in this series, I find myself loving another one more! Corrupt Knight was so freaking good! I can’t wait to start Corrupt Princess as soon as I’m done w/this review! Because the cliffhanger f/this was insane! Nico has definitely met his match w/Brianna! I love her. And the chemistry these two have was intense & through the roof! I felt for both of them, Brianna’s past & her fears have her thinking low about herself; and Nico is struggling w/his dads death. They’ve both got issues but keep turning to the other, it’s a lot of love/hate between them- but damn is it crazy explosive & hot! I honestly think Nico & Brianna are my favorite!
Review after doing a reread…
Since the final book for Nico & Bri is coming I needed to do a reread of 1 & 2!! Oh. My. God. I loved reliving every moment. Nico is such an a$$ to her, I wish she would’ve stood her ground more. She definitely doesn’t deserve his attitude. Yeah he’s struggling & drowning himself in alcohol since losing his dad, but there’s no excuse for the way he treats Bri. And even though I knew what the cliffhanger would be, I still cringed a little!! Diving in to do a reread of book 2- then I’m starting the final book!!
Corrupt Knight slots in as the 13th novel in theKnight's Ridge Empire series and the 1st novel in theCorrupt Trilogy.
This book is seriously high on the angst, and very emotional. I haven't read any of the Knight's Ridge Empire series, so I didn't have the luxury of knowing any of the foreshadowing of Nico and Bri's interactions or story.
I highly recommend reading the rest of the books before this one, but if you don't want to commit to that, you should be able to ferret out the logistics of where everyone fits easily enough.
As one would expect with being a part of the type of family he has, Nico has some weight on his shoulders. To make matters worse, his Siren (Bri) is now the assistant teacher at his school. This absolutely enrages him because it makes her off-limits, so he decides to make her life miserable.
Bri is a baddie for sure. She's independent and strong. She's not down to take any of Nico's nonsense, and isn't impressed by any of the material things that Nico offers if she will just "be his" beyond their trysts.
I enjoyed watching their relationship grow and flourish. The push and pull between them was intense, especially with outside influences.
I'm not a fan of cliffhangers and this one is like Thelma & Louise had a rope attached to their awesome blue convertible!!😱😱
Luckily, Corrupt Princess drops at the same time, so there's no wait to see what happens next.
Always check the TW/CW: 💥bullying 💥grief/parental loss
Anywho! Time to wrap this up with the goodies: Read: 4🌟🌟🌟🌟 Spice: 4 🌶🌶🌶🌶 CLIFFHANGER
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
A new author for me, I was lucky to get chosen for an arc copy for my honest review. Brianna had a rough start in life. Her mum was young having her and she ran rather than give her up for adoption, shelters and some rough council houses were home as she grew up. She took a liking to hanging out at libraries and with such a tough time of it all, she’s found being carefree, partying and one night stands have helped her forget her past. Nico, grieving for his father has decided it’s easier to be at home drinking than going to school, already redoing his school year, he’s past caring. Queue Brianna who’s set to be a student teacher at Knights Ridge, suddenly Nico takes notice. He can’t seem to keep away from their toxic and complicated situation. They’re magnetised to each other and the sexual tension between them is high. The edge of my seat cliffhanger at the end of this book makes me excited to read the next book in the series, Corrupt Princess. Not read many high school books type books so was good to read a different genre.
Honestly, I was dying to read about Nico especially when I knew him a little more in Dark Knight book. I completely adored him as a brother. Brianna is someone I admired when she stood up for Calli (Nico's Sister). They both have a strong pull towards each other but the way they try to not believe that is what kept me reading without going for a break.
Nico - Each one truly express grief in different ways. The way he closed doors for people after his dad's death and finding it too hard to trust people is completely logical. Definitely his egoistic nature is cute. He's too attached to Brianna. I can't take a break from this book and he can't take a break from her. The sweetest thing his he keeps counting on their days apart.
Brianna - This woman is savage and has the greatest power to tolerate Nico. She gives best replies to all his harsh talks and I completely adore the way she brought herself throught the hardest times of her life. A strong character who never gave up till the end and that's why she's there for Nico. I wish to see her as his Siren forever.
I'm just so excited to see this couple being their for each and finally just pulling each other by avoiding to push each other.
Corrupt Knight ( Corrupt Trilogy#1) by @tracy_lorraine_author Releasing 8 December ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/4
I've read a few of Tracy's books before but this book has to be my favorite. Her books just keep getting better and better ❤️ Nico and Brianna(Siren) are my fav couple in the Knight Ridge Empire series. I just freaking loved it 😍🔥🔥
• "I don't want to live in light when I'm drowing in the darkness within me."
Nico is a party boy who is grieving the death of his father who died in the attack by the Italians. I was pissed at how he treated Brianna and I loved how Brianna stood up to him. Brianna is carefree , a party animal and believes that hookups are preferable than relationships She is a future educator. wanting to change children's lives Bri just wants to finish her final semester and become a teacher.
The chemistry between Nico and Brianna is just perfect🔥🔥The freaking banter between them was so good 😍 The push and pull between them 🔥🔥 They both know they it's more than hate between them and because of that they don't like the other person( or so they think). This book just has so many things in it. Angst, spice, the freaking emotions and the cliffhanger 😵 Let me tell you if the second would have came later and not together with this 😩 the torture I would have had to endure 🤧 I'm not a patient person when it comes to books😭 I literally read the second book after finishing it at 3:30 am.
• Tropes:- • Bully romance • hight school • Enemies to lovers. • teacher student • Mafia romance * Thank you for the Arc for this book for an honest review*
We’ve been waiting for Nico’s story – he’s the brother of Calli, the placeholder Big Enchilada of the Cirillo Family, the sole person who gets laughed at amongst our crew for being a man-whore. But Nico gives us a softer side, as Dark Legacy (book 12 in the series) gave us a pretty large cliffhanger and now Nico is having to focus on pretty big things other than tickling his cucumber.
Siren is his kryptonite She’s now an assistant teacher at Nico’s school (oooh, hey, Mrs. Robinson!) and she is worried about what will happen when Nico finds out. So, what happens when he does? ———
Tracy delivers another piece of the pie in our saga of the Cirillo extended family. This series has been a non-stop zig zag. It’s calm, then chaos. Then it gets real quiet and then there’s suddenly random trumpets and you don’t know where your head is, even though it’s always in the same spot it always is (smirk).
What I love about these stories (and yes, I’ve read every single one and will continue to read all of the rest in the series) is the cohesiveness. I believe the relationships she puts down on paper. Siren and Nico are each one-half of a whole and there’s this constant battle in this series with each couple. It seems like we may never get peace…
Nico is the one we like to laugh at. He claims he can’t be tamed…but it sure is pleasing when Siren is around to do it.
First off, it’s getting harder and harder to read these knowing the end is coming. 😭 This series will go down being in my top 5 favorites of my reading world!
Also, I need to say every woman in this series is what you call STRONG WOMEN. Seriously, Tracy writes these characters in a way I don’t want to book slap. 😅 It’s not only Brianna in this book, Calli is still badass, especially towards her brother.
Okay, time for short/vague review.
We’ve met Nico Cirillo since the beginning, but Brianna Andrews character was brought in when Jodie was introduced in the series. They’re cousin’s and best friends. Nico and Brianna are both.. opened to one-night stands, and/or friends with benefits. So, obviously when they get together the first time that’s all it was supposed to be, a one-night stand. That didn’t work for either of them, they both can’t find anyone else that gives them their “fill.” Brianna is one of the escapes Nico is using to help through his pain. Their relationship has always been toxic, but in a good way (if that makes sense 🤔). They can’t escape each other, literally, and that’s where we are introduced into this book. And that’s where I’m leaving this review, you need to read the book to find out the rest. 😉
When Nico walked in on…… you’ll see when you read. And these evil cliffhangers. 😒🤣 And side note: I’m not trusting Brad. Just saying.
Holy moly. Nico and his Siren are everything they promised they would. And more. Their interactions are full of banters, underlying love-to-hate and so much steam.
Nico and Brianna are sort of obsessed with each other without willing to be. In fact both don’t like each other, or pretend to. But like with every obsession the more you don’t want it, the more you can’t stay away.
So when Nico discovers that Bri is a new student teacher at Knight’s ridge it makes her forbidden and him very angry.
You’re not scared of him, Brianna. He’s just trying to mess with your head.
Bri needs this job for her future and Nico needs the light she is to him. She can’t afford to give in anymore and he wants to drag her with him into his darkness.
Both don’t want to be focused on only the other one, but can’t seem to move on.
“I know, Siren. I know what you’re hiding.”
So when encounter on encounter follows, feelings get heated and on a dangerous high level the unthinkable secret comes out by mistake. And unwillingness turns into rage. Then, on the highest note on the siren’s song… follows… darkness once more.
Having read Ms.Lorraine's work many times before i always look so forward to picking up more of her books! When i found out about this trilogy i knew i had to have it in my life. I picked up this first installment as soon as i could and got right into the Corrupt Trilogy. I so enjoyed this first book!
This first installment in Brianna and Nico's journey had my attention quickly! Every time these two collide it's explosive. Little did they know they'd be in each other's lives in a new way as Brianna is hired to teach at Knight's Ridge. Can they ignore what's between them?
I really liked how the ball got rolling right from the get go with Brianna and Nico. The chemistry between them was definitely heat filled. I didn't know everything to expect with these two and they sure did keep me on my toes. From things in their lives to everything between them, it isn't easy and I loved that both Brianna and Nico had me going through many emotions throughout.
It was fun getting to reunite with some familiar faces as well!
With Corrupt Knight, Ms.Lorraine has created such a good and dark read that kept me turning the pages! After everything in this book, i am so looking forward to diving into book two, Corrupt Princess next!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Wildfire Marketing Solutions / the author*
Absolutely fantastic start to Tracy’s new Trilogy in the Knights Ridge Empire series. I have some catching up to do in this series but thankfully you can read each trilogy independently. This trilogy focuses on on Nico and Brianna’s story.
These two are an absolute perfect match together. Even though at first they had a more non established relationship going on but as things progressed she became Nico’s obsession. Nico faces some really hard times in this first book with family and stuff and really turns his emotions towards a darker turn and takes it out on those that care about him. These two end up having lots of ups and downs especially when their relationship takes a turn for the worst and becomes forbidden. Nico sets out to make her as miserable as he can when she accepts a student teaching job at Knights Ridge. The chemistry is absolutely hot and intense between these two even with the way Nico acts throughout, their story is a must read.
This first book will definitely keep you on edge and unable to put it down. Seriously can’t wait to read the next book to see where Tracy takes us with these two and if what they have is salvageable after everything that happened. Highly recommend this new trilogy!!
I'm a bit late to the game and joining this series now but holy hell why have I waited so long?!?!?!?
I'm glad I am getting to read this one and Corrupt Princess back to back especially after the way this one leaves off.
Nico and Bri are complete opposites. Nico is the bad boy, the one that's damaged and trying to deal with everything that's going on in his life. Bri is sweet and vulnerable, but she is fierce, will stand her ground.
This story is raw, gritty and one hell of a page turner. It deals with some tough issues like grief and bullying. The emotions are one hell of a ride . Can't wait to see what comes next.
I was gifted a copy of this book from the Author. This is my honest opinion
Wow….so much is happening in Knights Ridge! I thought and Daemon’s story was complicated and deep but Nico and Bri are as equally intense! Nico and Bri have so many ups, down, and challenges to their relationship or trying to start one that is not entirely hook up and one nighters. Poor Nico is just trying to get out from under his grief and he had one hell of a wake up call. Which, of course, is when the cliffhanger comes about. Hopefully thing will loop up for them both in Corrupt Princess from the first page till the very end there is so much happening that you won’t want to miss a single word in case it becomes important. All of which makes me anxious for Corrupt Princess. Tracy Lorraine, author, did a fantastic job with the characters and stories. Corrupt Knight is the perfect example. Tracy was able to bring out all the feels and I love when authors can elicit readers emotions. I highly recommend Corrupt Knight, Knight Ridge Empire series, and Tracy Lorraine as an author. Happy Reading!!
This was my first book in the series and I quickly found that out. I would not recommend reading out of order but if you pick it up not knowing I don’t think it takes too much from The story there is enough information provided that will allow for an exciting read.
Goodness! Nico and Bri are quite a couple. I loved everything about their twisted relationship. The spice was amazing I don’t think I have ever finished a book as fast. It was an easy read and with everything going on it kept you wanting more.
It starts out with Nico dealing with some big things and then dealing with finding out Bri is now going to be at school everyday. He is not happy with it at all and tries to make it difficult for her. I love their relationship. It was so easy to fall for both of them and root them to figure it all out.
I don’t know why but when Nico calls Bri siren I lose it everything. Has to be one of my new favorite pet names ever.
I love that Bri is so independent and doesn’t just fall for everything they Nico can offer her if they ever got passed the “hooking up” part of their relationship.
Jodie and Bri relationship is definitely something everyone needs. The support and the love you can see between them is amazing. It is always a great time when the two of them are together.
This one ends in one hell of a cliffhanger and i had to jump into the next one right away because I had to know.
I was fortunate enough to get an advanced copy of Tracy Lorraine’s newest addition to the well established Knights Ridge Empire series. These books focus on Nico who will be second in command of the Italian mob. He and Brianna have had a chaotic and toxic relationship which was mostly a friends with benefits kind of thing. Brianna is finishing up her degree in teaching and is student teaching her last semester. Her previous mentor had an unexplained emergency and she was left with nowhere to teach. Knights Ridge accepted her as their first student teacher. This is an amazing opportunity for Brianna but also an awkward one as she has been having sex with one of their student, Nico. Nico himself is trying to deal with a loss in the family and has been dealing with it in the wrong ways. When he finds out the Brianna is teaching at his school, he makes it his mission to make her as miserable and uncomfortable as possible. Will Brianna be able to stay away from Nico now that she is his teacher, and will Nico be able to overcome his demons without hurting anyone. This is book #13 in the series and I am as addicted to the series now as I was when I first discovered it. I absolutely love how Tracy writes her female characters. Each of them is different but all are strong and fierce. I think Nico and Brianna are my third favorite couple in the series as a whole. I cannot wait to see how their story ends and what will come next!
What an amazing start to this part of the series!!! Nico and Brianna are so explosive and have so much chemistry it’s unbelievable! The wild ride throughout this part of the story is so intense. I feel for Nico on how crazy a ride this is… but how much he puts Brianna through is insane as well! This is a must read but make sure you have book 2 ready because the cliffhanger this one is left on… Holy crap!
The stakes get higher in Corrupt Knight, where Nico’s obsession with Brianna takes center stage. Lorraine adds layers of suspense and danger as we see just how far Nico is willing to go to claim what he believes is his. Brianna continues to fight against her desires, torn between love and hate. James Joseph captures Nico’s dangerous allure perfectly, while Stella Hunter nails Brianna’s inner turmoil and fierce defiance. The tension between them is palpable, kept me hooked throughout the story .
Tracey Lorraine is definitely my one click buy list for every book I have read of Her's has been fantastic. This is the first book in the Corrupt Trilogy and another book in the Knights Ridge Empire Series. We have seen the relationship between Nico and Bailey through a few books and their chemistry has always been explosive. This book starts us right were we left of from Batman and Cali's books. Nico is drowning in his grief pushing everyone away. Brianna is the only one who can get him to open the door at times as she is the light in his darkness. The problem is that she has seen him vulnerable and that doesn't sit well. This book is fast paced and keeps you captivated. When Nico wants to torment Brianna, he sure knows how to get at her. These two know how to push each other's buttons and the heated push and pull brings out the animalistic side of them. I loved everything about this book worth every minute of reading. That cliff hanger gives you goose bumps. I am so glad I could move right on to the next book. I was given this book as an ARC for my honest review.
