GET CARTER is the biography of triathlete Hamish Carter, one of New Zealand's best-loved and most successful athletes.
In this book, Carter offers brilliant insight into the fiercly competitive world of the professional triathlete. He discusses the highs and lows, the loneliness of the athlete who is often away from home and family for long periods, and the importance of the team that supports him.
OK as a run of the mill book about a famous athlete. Very simply written. Talks a about races, training, etc., and fairly interesting. But the last 30 pages were so boring I simply could not finish the book. It tried. It was a library book, and I kept it out determined to finish the thing, and racked up big fines in the process, but I couldn't do it. In the end I decided that life is to short to subject yourself to something so meaningless.
