He said he didn’t believe in love and that this was only temporary… So why didn’t I listen?
I’ve dealt with my fair share of assholes in the past. As a result, dating wasn’t a top priority on my list of things to do. And I guess you could say I had a chip on my shoulder when it came to men. Which is why I found it especially maddening when two weeks before my best friend’s wedding, an emergency thrust me into the lap of the best man. Aleck Fox. Control freak billionaire. Cocky rake of the highest degree. And King Asshole himself. Now, we have to work together to plan our friends’ wedding. We have to agree on matters, and communicate about things… We have to live together, for God’s sake. It won’t be easy because as much as I can’t stand being around him, I can’t deny the way he makes me feel…
Angry, annoyed, exhilarated, sexy . He may be the most beautiful bastard I have ever encountered, but he isn’t a man I should get involved with. I, Winter Sommers, am in trouble. Because Aleck Fox is a raging inferno—hot, but destructive. And if I don't stay away from him, he’ll burn me alive.
J.L. Kenna is an emerging author of steamy romance of all subgenres.
She's an avid reader, which is what sparked the embers of her love for writing. And when she’s not writing all the words or has her nose stuck in a book, she’s dancing with her family in the living room; snuggling with her kids and husband under a mountain of cozy blankets in front of a movie; or talking about music, movies, and books with her husband over a hot cup of coffee or a chilled glass of wine.
I can’t tell you how amazing this read was for me!!! The characters (main and secondary) and their dynamics, their banter, the development character, the bonds, the romance, the writing, the pace and the flow, the humour, even the heartache and pain as well as the King Asshole’s grovelling!!! B E A U T I F U L❣️
Finally after a real long time i found a 5 stars read i absolutely loved 🖤 Everything about this book is so good, the characters, the banter, the smut 🥵 and the angst HOLY SHIT THE ANGST 🤤
The plot revolves around H being rich, manwhore, alphahole with a saddening backstory. h being full of sass, love and a broken heart.
Their best friends are getting married and they are helping with the preparation while forced to share a suite. They are FIRE and GASOLINE together 🔥
"I feel like I’ve only just found you, my Winter storm in the middle of Sommer."
Its decided that Alec is my latest book boyfriend 💕 and i want to wrap him up in a little jar with a tight lid and wear it around my neck ALWAYS.
The character development is so good in this book OH MY GAWD!!!
The bestest best thing i loooved about this one is our heroine, Winter with an awesome backbone didn't give in easy, she stood up for her expectations and let Alec really work for it and up his grovel game 🤤🤤
"I didn’t get it then. I was too stuck, too damaged to let myself feel it. Then I found Winter Sommers, the woman with two seasons for a name." *SWOON* 💕
I would definitely read this book in the future ❤
OM/OW drama but no cheating 👐
TRIGGER WARNINGS- Child Abuse, Child Neglect, Sexual Assault, Death of a parent.
I'm sorry, but you meet a guy acting like the MMC does right out the gate, you run the other way. He's an absolute trash person, but because he's rich and hot the FMC doesn't care. Only 27 pages in and I have ZERO interest in reading further. Gross.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Not only does J.L. Kenna have a beautiful writing style, but she is the type of author you know will never disappoint. Whatever she writes will be worth reading, buying, and loving. And this particular story, her second ever, is one of the best things I’ve read lately.
Winter is a strong, independent woman who doesn’t take sh!t from anyone. And Aleck… hahaha. He is a d!ck, but you gotta love him. The way their relationship develops is simply amazing. It’s sexy at times, sweet, and so intimate with their midnight chats. I loved, LOVED how it all flows and falls in place with such ease. Though one thing that needs to be highlighted in this book aside from their chemistry, is their crude banter. The witty comebacks, the insults—Grimm… he calls her Grimm! I can’t. Man… I was laughing so hard at some parts I ended up crying.
Again, I’m not a lover of clichés and insta love, but this author breaks my schemes every time. Midnight Confessions is a sexy story with a brush of darkness—their backstories are heartbreaking, especially Aleck’s—that subtly tackles the problem of how some people hide behind fake smiles and appearance to not face their demons. It will put you in a rollercoaster of emotions from beginning to end, a rollercoaster you’ll love through and through.
If you wanna squirm while reading great smut, laugh with the best banter, feel like JL is ripping your heart out, and also feel all warm and soft inside… Please, don’t hesitate. Make this your next read, you won’t regret it.
P.S: I can't wait to read the second book in the Beautiful Bastards and the MMC of that story...
Wow! What a journey indeed. Such a beautiful exploration of past trauma and what it means for the present. Glorious characters who do what you don’t want them to do, but you totally get why they do it because of the amazing writing! First book by this emerging author, but it won’t be my last!
Oh and ARC, but I would have raved about it this much even if I read it upon release!
I'm not sure where to even begin this review because it was one of the best books that I have read this year. Reading a book and being able to relate to the characters or be able to feel something for the characters is a tough thing for a writer to do and she did it wonderfully. Aleck and Winter were a complete roller coaster ride. Learning about their pasts and seeing what their current thoughts are was amazing. This book brought all sorts of emotions and these characters defiantly had their fill of drama, love, loss, happiness, and pure sadness. I need more of them. I think its going to take a while in order for me to get over this book.
Winter is helping her best friend Sondra with her wedding, but plans change and Winter has to go the resort with the best man Aleck. She takes the big room from him and he comes on the first night drunk and with two women. Winter and Aleck are attracted to each other but she is not going to let him get away with anything. He’s a lawyer and wants to make a deal. Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing Book. I love the banter and character development with Winter and Aleck. The supporting cast is excellent and I want them in real life. This book has all the feels.
Winter Sommers has offered to step in and help her best friend and her fiance plan their wedding after having to deal with a personal tragedy. She gets to stay in a 5 star luxury resort and wedding plan but the catch? She has to share it with the best man. Arrogant, self absorbed billionaire, Aleck Fox.
This book has: ➡️ dual POV ➡️ enemies to lovers trope ➡️ forced proximity ➡️ insta lust ➡️ opposites attract ➡️ some yummy grovelling 🤭
First things first - Aleck & Winters chemistry was soo palpable, I could taste the hormones in the air. I almost want to refrain from ever using the term 'the electricity or air crackled between them' (IYKYK 😆😆) but for these two, it was absolutely true! Of course my girl Kenna did Aleck justice and didn't just make him some rich, jerk playboy who always gets what he wants. No, he had layers. He worked through past trauma. He went through ALL the gigs. And so did I. This book was an emotional roller-coaster I was not expecting to be riding. There was A+ banter, bff squad goals, top tier 🌶🌶🌶 and all the angst.
I was privileged enough to arc read JL Kennas debut novel earlier this year (Under the Night Sky) and knew she would be an amazing author to watch. Well, she's knocked this one out of the park.
I'm calling it now - JL Kenna is going to be a NY #1 best selling romance author favourite, I just know it!
✔️ Midnight Confessions is available right now ✔️ is available on kindle unlimited
I loved Aleck and Winter's story so much! Such a great start to a new series.
Midnight Confessions introduces us to Winter Sommers and Aleck Fox. Fiercely loyal to their respective best friends, the two agree to go to a resort two weeks ahead of time and help organize the final details of the wedding. They had no idea what fate had in store for them. The trip starts off hysterically with Winter intentionally annoying Aleck and I'm not gonna lie, I was totally there for it lol. I love the way the pair met each other, annoyance and irritation makes for a snarky couple, and I can't get enough. Aleck acts like this big badas* billionaire when he's really just putty in Winter's hands, and Winter melts like ice in the Sahara but refuses to admit it. As much as they fight, they really do make the perfect enemies-to-lovers couple. I can't wait for the rest of the books in the series!
I have never laughed so much while reading. I must've lookd like a right goofball at work at 4am.
Winter Sommers and Aleck Fox.
As fate would have it, they were stuck sharing the penthouse together while planning their best friends wedding.
Busboy Trent comes along, moving Mr Fox's belonging in. Deciding the big room will be his. Upon his departure, winter decides there will be none of that.
As first impressions would have it, he was a s!ut. An she was a Grimm.
The more time they spent in eachothers company, the more they found comfort and friendship.
After the wedding, it was to all end. Until both realised the feelings they were gaining wouldn't allow it.
I'm lost for words with this, I frigging loved this book so much!
J.L knocked this one out of the park. I was completely addicted from page one, the characters are everything the plot is amazing, the writing was so beautiful and easy to read, I am hooked!
Aleck is arrogant, charming, hot-as-hell, and an absolute beast in the bedroom - that dirty talk *chefs kiss*, while he is a cocky alpha he is also heartbreakingly tortured and seeing his story develop, and his emotions unravel was beautiful. He really is everything! (And is quickly climbing the ranks of book boyfriend of the year).
Winter... boy oh boy is she full of sass! I LOVE her! She is feisty, independent, and totally hilarious. Their chemistry is off the charts, and their banter is honestly the best I have seen! They made me laugh, cry, swoon, and smile like an idiot, and I don't think I will ever get enough of them.
This is genuinely a 5-star read in my eyes, and is totally up there with the best of the best! J.L 100% deserves a wider audience, her writing is beautiful, her character/world development top-notch, and her stories are so heartwarming. If you haven't checked this out yet what are you waiting for?
"Love only exists when you meet the person who's meant to evoke it in you."
This one just could not hold my attention. I skimmed probably 60% of it, just to get to what I was TOLD was an epic grovel; unfortunately for me it just wasn’t enough of a grovel. It was more of a mini grovel with a half-assed grand gesture. His grovel was half-asses as well. He would do one small thing, then go away for a week then try reaching out again, but never went fully ALL IN. Also, he TRULLLLLY pissed me off with how he responded to her having been with someone else in the month that he was actively GHOSTIN HER!!! So yeah, it just wasn’t for me. 2⭐️s because I didn’t loathe it with a passion.
This has some witty laugh-out-loud lines but I just couldn’t warm to either of the main characters though try as I may. The guy was toooo arrogant and the girl just wasn’t unique enough for me. I do really think this author has future potential though.
DNF @ 60% The spicy scenes were well written but it was painful to get to them. I get why people like this book, I just don't think it's for me. He's an asshole in a non-redeemable way and she's childish in a non-redeemable way. Also at some point, banter is just verbal abuse ya'll come on now.
Midnight Confessions was a joy to read. It was like a rollercoaster and we went up and down with these two over and over again. Just when you climb to the top thinking they were getting their act together we'd drop again.
It was full of drama and emotion, I felt myself choking up a few times. It was also a lot of fun, I enjoyed their banter and the group dynamic but the star of the show was the chemistry and spark between Aleck Fox and Winter Sommers. The way they were together made the ups and downs so enjoyable I didn't even get mad about it.
With an over-the-top, sex on a stick, billionaire alphahole, and a loyal feisty bratty heroine these two were bound to clash, and when they figured it out, complete each other. They were a match in so many ways and opposites in the other. Loved them.
This has a whole hate-to-love-you theme, with romantic comedy elements and forced proximity when they have to work together for their respective best friends' wedding. There was a lot to love about this story and even though it was very hard to like Hayden for most of the book I look forward to his story to come next. . . . Winter was supposed to be spending the next two weeks at a resort with her best friend, Sondra while they finished planning her wedding. Instead Sondra's fiance Preston has had a death in the family and it's up to him to sort it out as he is his grandmother's executor. Now Winter has to work with his best friend and rumor has it he's not easy to get along with. But Winter will do anything for Sondra even suffer through whatever Aleck Fox might throw her way.
Aleck doesn't believe in love of any kind, it's just a fairy tale that he will never deserve. For his best friend Preston though he'll step up and help finish planning his wedding because he deserves to be happy. He's not expecting the fiery goddess who on the first night rails at him while looking like the Thing. In the light of day all she was hiding is out in plain sight and now he's even more intrigued by her. What surprises him more is no matter how much he pushes her buttons she doesn't fall at his feet like almost every other woman he's ever met. 'She's not looking at the man with more money than god, who turns every single head when he enters a room. She's not impressed in the slightest. She looks at me like she's trying to see through it, see past it. Like she's trying to see the man under the layers of privilege and dysfunction he's wrapped in.'
With Winter's past hurt from her ex still resting heavily on her shoulder, she can't see why anyone would fall for Aleck's game. Living with Aleck and spending hours every day planning this wedding is opening her eyes though. He's not all he plays himself off to be and she is determined to find out exactly who Aleck is while protecting herself from getting hurt again. 'He's a tyrant. A monster with a rigorous cardiovascular conditioning routing and a diet that awards him with close to zero percent body fat, Venus dimples, and a body I want to climb like a rock wall, but a monster with a guarded heart I assumed he didn't possess. I'm not too proud to admit I was wrong. Aleck Fox has a heart, and it's secretly bleeding.'
Despite the fight she puts up she can't deny that Aleck lights her whole body with just one look or a few words. She is sure he could give her pleasure that she's only read about in her romance books but she's also sure that she will end up hurt all over again. And this time she's not sure she'll be able to get over it.
If he thought his usual one-and-done would work with Winter he was very wrong. One taste and she hasn't been far from his mind ever since. He's never wanted more than the release and then to see them gone but with Winter he wants a lot more, he just has no idea what to do with that. Hoping that what's left of their time together until the wedding will be enough he offers her something he's never offered anyone else ever.
In one fell swoop whatever they could have been shatters and breaks. Now Winter struggles to get over what could have been something amazing if Aleck wasn't such a coward and Aleck struggles to find himself and fix what he ruined. But it might just be too late to ever get back what they had.
Midnight Confessions is gold amongst the many titles that have been flooding our social media feeds. This is my first introduction to J.L. Kenna and I am here to stay. This is not her debut novel; however, she is still relatively new on the romance novel scene. She won't disappoint... well she might if you are looking for a clean novel - you will not find it here.
Honestly, I am not even sure where to start with this review. I guess it should be said I received this novel in exchange for my not-as-witty-as-the-FMC-in-this-novel commentary (review) of said love story. These thoughts are, of course, my own.
Winter Sommers is a great name; and completely sold me on loving this character right off the bad. She is our FMC, and has a wit about her that I just can't even express into words. She is the dutiful maid of honor with sassiness and sweetness all rolled into one. She has some growth throughout the novel, because her views on love are skewed due to a past relationship. However, as she comes fully into her own (though we see peaks of it all throughout the novel) you can see that it wasn't love that she had skewed it was self-worth. This gives us the question of whether or not she can find it, and find love... well, you need to read the story to find out... I don't tend to give spoiler reviews.
Aleck Fox is our MMC, and the last name says it all really. Or one may think. He is a corporate lawyer with billions, not millions, to his name. This leaves him feeling entitled and like everything is within reach for him at all times, however he wants it. Yet, you can see by his eccentricities that there is something definitely going on underneath. His views on love are that there is no such thing. He is happy for his best friend, but he just doesn't see that ever being true for him. He also does not appreciate the cheeky new roommate he has gained a few weeks before the wedding; nor does he wish to make any decision... after all it isn't his wedding.
The two of them start off completely on the wrong foot; even before even meeting face to face. You know what they say though, hate sex can be just as hot as making love. This may or may not be the case for these two. You definitely need to read to find out. I will state though that based on my spicy chili pepper scale this comes in at a solid four out of five (please, remember that this could be more or less for you personally as it's based solely on my opinion.) Some of the pages I feared would burn my kindle right up... but I am not complaining. The chemistry was there, in every way possible. As was the tension.
There was a right amount of humor, romance, spiciness and even a little angst. I do need to mention that there is some mention of SA. It is brief, and doesn't go in depth. However, if that is triggering for you then please proceed with caution. There is also mention of neglect, and drug use, though not to descript or in depth. Again, if triggering for you please proceed with caution.
Overall, I would absolutely recommend this novel and author! There is no doubt I will be talking about it in my book group, and with all my friends who love to read romance

Midnight Confessions is a deliciously good standalone and a 5 star read. The storyline was brilliant; the characters were amazing, raw, real, dealing with real life problems, feelings and judgment while the plot kept me on the edge of my seat. Powerful, riveting, engaging and invigorating book. This book blew me away in the best possible way and took me by surprise. I couldn’t help but be captivated by the story and plot from start to finish.
The push and pull between Aleck and Winter in this book is incredible. They are flirty, fun, tender, touching, heartbreaking at times and heartwarming. Neither of them in the beginning is looking for a relationship, but also can’t deny the strong connection, pull, UST and chemistry they feel. They are passionate, angsty, a bit frustrating and intense. Aleck can’t explain what exactly is about her that gets to him. They complimented each other so well. The chemistry between Aleck and Winter is undeniable and instant. Their love story is sexy, sweet and dangerous I loved their quirkiness, how real they are and their denial. I love how they were drawn to each other and the connection they shared despite not wanting to work together. The pace of the story added to their romance and to them figuring out the new circumstances.
I completely adored the unique storyline, real characters and a build-up. An absolutely amazing book with everything you could possibly want if you love character driven storyline, banter, opposites attract, enemies to lovers, forced proximity and romance. This is a story that must not be missed.
Midnight Confessions by J.L Kenna is an enemies to lovers trope. It’s my first time reading a book from this author and let me tell you it did not disappoint. Midnight Confessions is not only well written but you will fall in love with the drama, the characters, the storyline and the emotions this book will have you feeling.
“I’m sorry for your loss… I’m about to murder your pussy, Winter.” - Aleck Fox
I fell in love with Aleck Fox and let me tell you he is truly a Fox in and out the bedroom. If you you love enemies to lovers this one is definitely the keeper. Aleck Fox is handsome, strong, funny, possessive, cocky and the daddy of dirty talk. He’s an asshole with but Winter can’t stay away from his raging inferno and he’ll burn her alive.
“Aleck Fox… Sex god Aleck Fox… Mr. I’m Going to Murder Your Pussy… Did you just—” - Winter Sommers
Winter Sommers named after two seasons has a hard time staying away from the Fox himself. She’s pretty, sassy, feisty, funny, independent, trustworthy and wants to make her best friend happy. How will she handle being in forced proximity of King Asshole himself Aleck Fox?
Midnight Confessions will have you feeling all kinds of things. I felt every emotion in this book, so much passions also some heart break. Aleck Fox will have you wanting more and more. 🥵🥵 He is definitely the true definition of Fox. Not only will you’ll eyes be wet 💦💦 but so will your panties.
Get your copy today and find out with happens to these two amazing characters !!!! Follow them through their journey of steamy sex scenes, cocky moments, funny moments and much more.
Midnight Confessions by J.L Kenna is definitely a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Winter and Aleck have been asked to finish wedding plans for their best friends. Which means forced proximity in a hotel for a week.
I didn’t like Aleck for most of this book. He was an obnoxious a$$ but he had his demons which made him that way. He was unapologetic and rude in his behavior in the beginning. His inner dialogue of women was sometimes crass. His disregard of Winter after that week really soured me against him no matter his excuse. Even believing he didn’t deserve or was worthy to be loved he acted like a coward. Winters behavior was no better with her lies to just keep Aleck at arms length once he got his head out of his butt. She’d been hurt in a past relationship and used that as a basis to not let her heart get broken. Too late for that at that point.
These two were fun to read about though, their banter and chemistry were off the charts. There is a ton of angst which showed that this couple really needed to learn a better way of communication. They hurt each other and I think they both needed to grovel a little more at the end. Aleck showed the most character development and he grew on me at the end.
It will be interesting to read Hayden’s story next. He has his own demons and I want to see if he is even redeemable.
There are some events that could be triggering. Mentions history of child abuse, not in depth, but still could make you uncomfortable. Death of a parent.
Midnight confessions has restored my faith in some books. I have been reading bestsellers and being disappointed at how big the hype is for such mediocre books.
Midnight confessions was a light and easy read where you don't get bored or tired of the characters. The female MC is sassy and independent and the male MC - even though with a dark past - has a realistic notion of what life costs and is funny.
Their banter is phenomenal and their chemistry is off the charts, you get excited just to see they are about to interact! It has been taking me forever to read all kinds of books but I devoured this one in less than a week - and it's because I didn't have much free time otherwise it would have been faster.
There are only two reasons why this book isn't a 5 stars for me. One is (I get this is a romance and it is centred on the couple) but I would have liked a little bit more revolving world constructions - more side characters or more physical/exterior descriptions. The second is his reason to leave her stranded. He has just decided - or hinted at it - that they were figuring it out and that he couldn't live without her and then he disappears off the face of the earth. That is not the problem to me, the problem was his reason was not enough (in my opinion, especially since his issues are explored in the story with just a few brief mentions).
I understand the author's need not to make this book a dark one but I think it could still be achieved without making it dark. A simple chapter of him in a therapy session with him realizing his issues regarding love and commitment and how his dad's accident was triggering would be awesome. Having him also work to go past them to be able to get her and be happy would suffice. Because of the way it was presented, it was really shallow from my perspective. I didn't even feel his regret. I also think his relationship with his brother should have a deeper conversation because what happened was serious for both of them and it would help both of them heal too.
I also think she forgave him a little too fast and a little rushed. But other than that is a great book!
Triggers: Mental Health, Cheat!ng by secondary character, Death of Loved One, Alcohol Abu$e
Winter is a typical type A personality. She takes care of those around her and is driven to succeed, even at her own detriment. She's had people use her in the past but she's learned to stand up for herself. When she ends up planning her best friend's wedding with the crude Best Man, she gets plenty of opportunity to practice her new skills.
Aleck is all your favorite F words in one glorious package - he's flirty, funny, filthy, flawed and feckin fantastic. Sure, he's a complete alphahole but everyone has their drawbacks. He's works hard and plays harder. He makes billion dollar deals but don't ask him to deal with feelings.
Winter and Aleck clash from the get go and set up one of the most enjoyable lighthearted, enemies to lovers romances, I have read in a while. The witty banter game is strong here. Tongues and minds are sharp. The plot and characters are a delight and the chemistry sizzles. A great read.
I received this as an ARC but the review is completely my own thoughts*
I don’t know what I expected (I don’t normally read the blurbs for books hahaha, tell me what tropes it has and I’ll go off that), BUT this book was soo good. I always love when the titles of books make sense, J.L connected the dots wonderfully and I loved the meaning behind it.
This is my first book from J.L, I found her on tiktok looking for ARC readers and I love finding new authors to support. I think its safe to say that I will be continuing to read/support J.L.
Winter Sommers is our FMC, she is an avid reader who loves romance books (same girl, same) who works for a publishing company. She is sassy, independent, but also guarded. She hasn’t dated in awhile since she was cheated on by her ex and she is still hurt/broken up about it. I resonated with Winter a lot actually and I really liked her character.
Aleck Fox is our MMC, a rich (billions, not millions) corporate lawyer who had a hard life growing up and got adopted when he was ten. He’s honestly a bit of a dick in the beginning but that changes and he redeems himself.
The story follows them as they help out their bestfriends who are getting married. The friends cant plan their wedding due to a death in the grooms family, so they asked the maid of honor and best man to fill in and make sure everything good to go at the resort. Of course this means that Winter and Aleck get roomed together in the room that the bride and groom were to stay in leading to one of my favourite tropes: forced proximity.
Obviously since Aleck is a bit of a dick, they got off on the wrong foot. Cue in the enemies to lovers trope (again, one of my favs).
This book checked a lot of my favourite boxes:
Enemies to lovers, force proximity, opposites attract, dirty talking MMC, groveling, and BANTER (I LOVE banter)!
There is some mentions of SA, it doesn’t go into detail but just beware if this is a trigger for you.
All in all, this book was super good! I couldn’t put it down, I read it all lastnight and stayed up until 2 am reading it. It had me laughing, had me swooning, and the spice was *chefs kiss*. I liked that we could see Aleck grow as a character. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series that follows Aleck’s brother Hayden.
Oh my goodness...Aleck and Winter had me on the edge of my dang seat throughout this entire book. From their first encounter to the very last page. So many times they had my heart racing with what was going on in the story. They are such an epitome of the grumpy/sunshine trope and I loved, loved watching Aleck become less grumpy. You have this refined and unbreakable man that gets completely enamored by what he refers to as a girl named after two seasons.
Right off the bat the tension between these two is AMAZING! There is a constant push and pull between them that had me nonstop turning the pages to see how their story was going to unfold. It is so hard to explain in full details about these two without giving spoilers (because I don't) so when I say it is an emotional ride that ends with an HEA just trust me.
This was my first J.L. Kenna book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I actually love when an author plays with my emotions while reading their story. It shows how deep the writing is when it hits me in my feels. The character development was top notch (again I cannot really go into details as to prevent spoilers) but where the characters started and where they ended...chefs kiss! I am very much looking forward to the next book in this series.
Winter is helping her best friend plan her wedding with the groom’s best friend Aleck. Holy hell when these two first meet! They are stuck living together in a hotel and the attraction between them was AMAZING! Aleck Fox, billionaire lawyer playboy is one hot AF alpha! Let’s not even talk about that mouth of his!
Winter is insecure and thinks she’ll never measure up to the girls she’s seen with Aleck and Aleck thinks he’s not worthy of love. I could not stop crying and I don’t mean the shedding a couple of tears, I mean full blown crying with snot coming down. This book took me on a whirlwind of emotions.
ALECK FOX IS BOYFRIEND GOALS! PLEASE READ THIS BOOK! IM OBSESSED!
This is my first book by J.L. Kenna, and it will not be my last! I’m so happy I found her! I can’t wait for the next one!!
I added this book to my wishlist after seeing a friend of mine raving about it... and I'm honestly so glad I did. This book honestly had some of my favorite tropes...
• Forced Proximity • Enemies to lovers • Billionaire mmc • All the banter
I literally read this book in one day. I honestly couldn't put it down. I loved setting of a vacation resort and the forced proximity of Winter and Aleck sharing a suite.
Winter was fantastic! She was snarky and sassy, and I loved that she didn't take any of Aleck's shit. Aleck had so much character growth throughout the book. I went from hating to absolutely loving him by the end.
The chemistry was amazing, and the spice was off the charts. Overall, it was definitely worth the read and had me clamoring for the next book in the series.
My first book by this author and omg it was wonderful. I'm serious! So many emotions ran through me while reading this. I absolutely loved Winter and Aleck's story.
Winter was amazing! She was beautiful, funny, smart, and reeling from her ex's betrayal. She naturally was not happy with Aleck and you can't blame her.
Aleck. How do I describe him? Hot and a conceited a**. Seriously I gasped with his 1st interaction with Winter. He did not make the best 1st impression.
Together though they were hilarious and bit by bit you like Aleck more. He's so uptight and you find out what his damage is. Their banter and chemistry leads to some very 🔥 scenes.
I can't believe how quickly I finished this! Grab this one and be prepared to be sucked right into an amazing story that won't let go. I can't wait to read Hayden's story!
Wow! This was an amazing story from the very start. I loved Winter and Aleck and how their past experiences and traumas effected their actions and view of the world. This story pulled me in from the beginning and I loved and hated the characters both at different sections of the story for the way they acted and the decisions they made. This story made me laugh, cry, and smile while reading it. Such a great read! I definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves steamy but emotional romances with a lot of angst. I received a review copy of this story and am leaving a voluntary honest review.
