"People are trouble and to be avoided at all costs..."That was Joshua Ragland's golden rule for survival in the After Days. In his previous life he had studied law, and he figured that back then, people probably said the same thing about lawyers. That was before America fell. Before a deadly biological strike and subsequent land invasion brought the superpower to her knees in a matter of days.Unlike the rest of the adult population, he survived the virus and by some miracle lived to see the invaders pushed west by a retaliatory, but futile strike. Unfortunately they left the eastern seaboard of America a shell of its former self, its cities and suburbs abandoned to the forsaken children and teenagers that survived their "work" camps. Now, ten years on, he is a hardened survivor. A drifter who wanders the ruins of America, keeping to himself and only tolerating human contact when he has to. Unfortunately, he's about to break his own golden rule. When Ragland intervenes to save the life of a young girl captured by a pack of cannibals, he unwittingly sets in motion a chain of events that will bring the horde down on his head...Don't miss the thrilling 10th installment of the America Falls Series
This book is by far the best in the entire series. I’m still super annoyed that the author only seems to know how to write macho men who think women all need his protection who seem to have no other interests other than killing. Also, that stupid bit about Elon Musk was gross, but I’m not surprised this author would choose to include that.
I’m glad that the characters from Texas Fight did not make an appearance. They were the most underdeveloped characters I’ve ever read.
Luckily for me, this is also the last one in the audiobook series I’m reviewing for a local library, so I’m glad it’s over. I’m also left wondering why Luke didn’t make an appearance after that novella. This second half of the series does not seem like it was plotted out.
I enjoyed the story. So much loss is to be expected in an environment as this. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline. The ending was a great touch and I can't wait to see what comes next.
This is where the bus stopped for me. I remember being glad there weren't anymore audiobook versions available because this series got old and I was ready for something else.
I actually really enjoyed this one, another new character introduced with Josh Ragland, I liked this character more than Jack and some of the other new ones
This definitely took a major downturn after the first 9. These new characters just did not resonate. Hopefully they will bring back more of Luke and co in book 11.
The drifter I was all refer up to read a good book. Just getting into the man and dome background and it was the end of book. 42 pages and you are left hanging.
