Picture books by Andres Lopez (judging from those featured at Los Angeles Public Library's 2023 FESTIVAL DE LIBROS, Croco, Pantera, Gigante en la Orilla) often have theme of search for community & acceptance, support.
These may only be available in Spanish, but since that is language with second highest number of native speakers on the planet (See preface to 2oth anniversary edition of book BREAKING OUT OF BEGINNER'S SPANISH) would be great idea to become part of "a larger world" by becoming--at least--bilingual.

Tho aimed at children and teachers, found very moving presentation by picture book author ANDRES LOPEZ. What was shown of their books seems to draw from personal experiences of feeling they didn't fit into the world, trying to find community & friends. Adults may intuit reason for theme perhaps not explicitly given in books. Lopez illustrated book written by a friend about a giant for whom "normal people" built a cello of doors, tables and other pieces of wood patched together. https://andreslapiz.com/
Learning about others, leading to understanding & cooperation is important message in increasingly global culture.
